SPEAKER_04Ate over there with everybody and got to sleep on the couch yesterday.
SPEAKER_06Nobody said nothing to me. It was good. It was good. Uh did you get any cool redneck uh gifts from your kids or your wife or anything? Any cool gifts for Father's Day?
SPEAKER_05Yeah, they gave me this flamethrower thing. Ronnie gave me this flamethrower deal.
SPEAKER_06So explain this flamethrower thing. It doesn't sound like that's uh the safest thing to uh to give to you. What what can you do with this? Oh well, of course. What are you supposed to do with this flame flower thing? Is it just for fun or does it actually have uh uh uh tactical uses?
SPEAKER_03I think it's supposed to uh like charcoal and stuff like that.
SPEAKER_06Oh, okay, so like you could you could give that burned wood effect type thing? I said you can get it burning. Can you burn weeds with it or uh did she get it? I'm sure you can.
SPEAKER_04I'm sure you can because you put a you put a propane, like a little propane bottle on it, and uh you can crank it up. I'm sure JD Pepper is not JD Pepper approved.
SPEAKER_06Not JD Pepper approved, indeed. Nah, you can't use it up here in the White Mountains. We are uh under strict stage one fire restrictions. But you're in uh Beaumont, Texas, and it's been raining like crazy over there, huh?
SPEAKER_04Oh man. All month, bro. Every day, every day, every day. We go there 10 days and nothing, so I'm kind of glad about that.
SPEAKER_06It is now time for Are You Smarter Than a Redneck with Paul from Beaumont and Paul before we uh get to uh the trivia, you got a uh call from uh one of your fans this weekend. How did that feel?
SPEAKER_04Oh, I felt good, man. I was I was kind of shocked, man. I'm you know, I thought the fame of the pain of fortune was over.
SPEAKER_06Yeah, I was at the run to the bridge, and one of my friends like, man, I love Paul from Beaumont. I'm from Texas. I was like, well, let's give him a call. And you were laying on the couch sleeping. Yep, laying on the couch sleeping. All right, today is World Rainforest Day, so we're gonna do some rainforest trivia for Are You Smarter Than
World Rainforest Day Trivia Showdown
SPEAKER_06a Redneck? Here we go. Uh rainforests help produce approximately how much of the world's oxygen is it a 5%, B, 10%, or C 20%? Paul. Paul 20. 20. I'm gonna say 10. Correct answer: 20. He is up one zero. That's a breath of fresh air right there. All right. What is the top layer of a rainforest called? Is it A, the forest floor, B, the understory, or C, canopy? Chris. Paul. I said it first. Canopy. Boom. We are tied at one apiece. This last question will determine who the winner is. Pick a number from five to twenty. Seventeen. Seventeen, okay. All right, here we go. What percentage of the world's plant and animal species are estimated to live in rainforests? Is it A about 10%, B about 25%, or C more than 50%?
SPEAKER_04Paul. Paul. I'm gonna say more than 50% because all the little critters. Creature.
SPEAKER_06Ding, ding, ding. He is smarter than a very handsome radio DJ. Congratulations,
Fire Marshal Minute Summer Warnings
SPEAKER_06Paul. Good morning. It's the morning brew with Chris Bennett. Who's this?
SPEAKER_01Hey, good morning, Chris. It's JD.
SPEAKER_06JD Pepper. It must be time for our Fire Marshal Minute. Timber Mesa Fire Marshal. JD Pepper, what you got for us today?
SPEAKER_01Yeah, buddy. Hey guys, it's uh, you know, we're we're in it, man. Uh yesterday was uh what the longest day of the of the year, the summer solstice. It was also Father's Day, which was uh I hope everyone out there had a had a had a good Father's Day. Um but we are in the the the throes of summer. I mean 92 degrees is what they're calling for uh this week. Um there's no rain in sight, so we need to be extremely careful out there. If you see anything going on, call it in, call 911, see anything going on as far as illegal illegal fires or or stuff that's stuff that's dangerous that could start a fire. We've got fires that have that have popped up out down there to the south-southwest of us, um, south of Heber. Uh these are all I I believe that these are lightning strikes um from that last little storm that we had come in. Kind of follows that the edge of the rim if you if you look at uh the watch duty map. But anyways, uh have have a have a uh uh a ready set go type of uh kit um in your home, ready to go, guys. Sit around and talk about that as a family. Hey, what we need in case we get you know we get put on uh on set or or you know, god forbid we get put on go status. Um have have have your stuff you know relatively quickly uh in a spot that you can get it in and leave if you if need be. Um I I hope that's not gonna happen. I mean, I'm you know I'm I'm pretty confident we're we're doing better this year than we were last year, um, as far as our conditions are concerned. Uh but we are we we're in it now. We're in the the high temperature, the dryness, and we're waiting for those monsoon storms to to kick back up. So uh be careful out there. And again, if you see anything, any smoke, any anybody doing anything illegal with fire or even you know welding outside or anything like that, some people are allowed to do that as long as they have the right equipment, but you can call it in. It's okay. We'll I'll run out there and check it myself. I do all the time. So um let's just be hyper-vigilant out there.
SPEAKER_06All right, JD, thank you so much uh for the information. Everyone, let's do our part to stay safe. Make sure you got that ready set go kit uh ready and uh you talk to your family and make sure you have everything uh prepared. And we thank uh all of our firefighters out there for keeping us safe and all the hard work you guys do. We love you.
SPEAKER_01We love you guys too. Stay safe.
SPEAKER_06Absolutely.
Run To The Bridge Race Recap
SPEAKER_06Good morning. It's the morning brew with Chris. Who's this?
SPEAKER_02Good morning, champion, champion Chris Dennis.
SPEAKER_06It's Brian from Pinedale. So many people have been excited to hear about the results of our race. You challenged me to a quarter mile race for the Pinedale run to the bridge. And uh, I must say, you are uh a lot uh faster than I was expecting, especially for 70 years young. Yeah, well, you still beat me. Yeah, I did, and I was twirling, I was dancing all the way.
SPEAKER_02You danced all the way to the finish line.
SPEAKER_06Yeah, so technically we only ran a quarter of a mile, but I think if you count all my twirls, I might have done close to a mile.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, how's your ankle by the way?
SPEAKER_06Uh it could it almost there was one point when I did a twirl, and I'm like, oh my ankle was like, don't do that anymore. So uh, but yeah, it uh we we finished very close uh together, but I did end up beating you. But uh for the overall, there was a women's division, a men's division, and overall. I ended up getting second overall, and uh first place went to uh a winner who actually also won oldest participants.
SPEAKER_02Yeah.
SPEAKER_06She beat both of us. She beat both of us. So I might have beat Brian from Pinedale, but I did not beat the oldest participant in the run to the bridge.
SPEAKER_02Um they wrote up a real nice article on you, too, by the way. It's on the Pinedale Heritage Facebook page. Yeah, there's pictures on that of us and stuff too, I noticed.
SPEAKER_06All right, yeah, I'll have to check that out. Pinedale Heritage.
SPEAKER_02You might want to put it on your uh posting air too for everybody, for all your listeners.
SPEAKER_06Yeah, we'll share it to the uh Q Country page. It was such a fun event. So many uh families. There's, you know, a huge family came out. They won for the the biggest family participant, the Reedheads. And uh yeah, it was it was great to see young and old participants and everyone just out having a good time. And thank you.
SPEAKER_02How about the little 11-year-old?
SPEAKER_06I know. An 11-year-old, I forget what she won like uh what was it, the 5K?
SPEAKER_02Yeah, the 5K, I think it was. Yeah, holy moly.
SPEAKER_06Yeah, it was crazy how fast some of these young kids are. And uh, but yeah, it was a lot of fun. Thank you so much for letting me be a part of it again.
SPEAKER_02And how did you feel Sunday?
SPEAKER_06I felt fine. How did you feel?
SPEAKER_02Uh I went for we went with our ridge riders, uh four-wheeling, and we kind of relaxed all day and went to the grill restaurant and had lunch and stuff. So it wasn't I didn't have to physically work, so it was a good day.
SPEAKER_06Nice, nice. Well, I'm glad neither one of us got hurt.
SPEAKER_02Nobody got hurt. That's the best part.
SPEAKER_06That's the best part, yeah. Everyone was safe and uh yeah, it was a fun event.
SPEAKER_02Yep, but hopefully you can do it again next year.
SPEAKER_06Yep, sounds good. I love it.
SPEAKER_02But I'm not challenging you again. I gotta buy you breakfast next week.
SPEAKER_06Yeah, yeah, we'll figure that out.

SPEAKER_06Hello, hello, hello. Happy Monday morning. How was uh your weekend?

SPEAKER_06What did you do for him?
SPEAKER_00Oh my gosh, all sorts of things. The best steaks, some gifts and shirts and all kinds of fun. But he we I uh the this is so funny. We let him decide what he wanted to do. Go figure. And he won no, but he wanted to just spend time with you know the family, all in the backyard, barbecue great steaks, which he had to cook because he's the best steak cooker. And but then he wanted to give writing lessons to the grandkids, which he did again. And it was just a it was just a really easy going, but a super nice uh he says it was just awesome, just perfect. And we made homemade ice cream for him, chocolate chip cookies for him, you know, all that stuff. So everybody went to bed all sugared up. Yeah.
SPEAKER_06Yeah, that's the best. Yeah, yeah, that's basically how it was yours. Yeah, it's uh it was basically very similar, except I didn't give any writing lessons. But uh yeah, my wife made delicious breakfast for me, and uh, my daughter made me rice crispy treats. I had cookies, sweets all day, and uh yeah, for dinner they barbecued burgers for me and uh yeah, it just made me feel special. It was it was a great, great day.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, that's awesome. I I just think it uh and also you you raced this weekend, right?
SPEAKER_06Yes, I did. The uh Pinedale run to the bridge. I gave out the awards, and my friend Brian from Pinedale, 70 years young, challenged me to a race. I ended up beating him. It was close, it was closer than I thought, but I danced the whole quarter of a mile. Yeah, and I I was not I I might have beat Brian, but I I got second place. First place, uh also won oldest participant award. So I yeah, so uh I'm I still have some work to do for sure.
SPEAKER_00So you have some videos online we can check out with that.
SPEAKER_06Yeah, I've won Buck Dance and I'll be posting some more videos later this week, so stay tuned to Chris Bennett Comedy.

SPEAKER_06It is now time for motivational Monday, and Janine, in honor of Father's Day yesterday, I'm gonna do uh some uh motivational quotes from some famous fathers. You set?
SPEAKER_00Yes, I am.
SPEAKER_06All right, the father of electricity in America, Benjamin Franklin, said, Well done is better than well said.
SPEAKER_00That's good. I like that. Yep, yep. Don't just talk about it. There you go.
SPEAKER_06Uh Thomas Edison, the father of the electric age, says, I have not failed. I've just found 10,000 ways that won't work.
SPEAKER_00There you go. Keep trying.
SPEAKER_06Uh the father of the telephone, Alexander Graham Bell, said, when one door closes, another opens. Yeah. And Henry Ford, the father of the assembly line, says, Whether you think you can or you think you can't, you're right.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, exactly. I've heard that one many times. I want to go with Ben uh old Ben Franklin this time.
SPEAKER_06Ben Franklin, well done is better than well said.
SPEAKER_00There you go. Don't flap your mouth and talk about it.
SPEAKER_06Actions, yeah, actions speak louder than words.
