SPEAKER_04You got five days to go, Joe.
SPEAKER_03Well, is it miserable Monday for you? Because you're retired. Like, isn't every day like a Friday for you? Every day is a holiday, bud. So then so then why would you call Monday Miserable Monday?
SPEAKER_04Because I had a surprise this morning.
SPEAKER_03Oh, what uh who left you a surprise? I have no idea. Uh, was it one of your pets or was it a human? I'm the only human here, so it had to be one of the doggies. So you just woke up and they left you a little uh uh surprise on the ground somewhere?
SPEAKER_04Oh yeah.
SPEAKER_03Anything juicy happened this weekend? Not really. Not really. Uh one of uh our friends, JD from Snowflake, he just turned 14 today. It's his birthday. What advice do you have for uh a 14-year-old on his birthday?
SPEAKER_04Good luck in the future, son. You're gonna need it.
SPEAKER_03You're like the opposite of motivational on this motivational Monday, because that sounded kind of scary. Are you ready for the 4th of July? Never am. Never am. All right. It is now time for Boo or Cool with Show Lowe's Dave Ramsey. Uh, and in honor of America's 250th anniversary this 4th of July, I thought we'd do Boo or Cool American Inventions. Inventions. Windy Camping And Motivation Quotes
SPEAKER_03All right, bye bye. Janine, you there?
SPEAKER_06Yes, I am. Hello, hello.
SPEAKER_03Hello, hello, happy Monday. Happy Monday. How was your weekend?
SPEAKER_06It was good, but that wind was crazy. You can see why we're in red flag warnings. Oh my gosh. We we went camping. We had to call just stop on late Saturday, and we're just like, ah, we're gonna go home. It was it was just gale force where we were, and it was like, it was too much. Yeah. Yeah. And of course, we're in stage two fire restrictions, so you're not really doing that much. And so we enjoyed ourselves, but we packed it in. We were, I swear I had just dirt in my teeth, dirt in my ear. We were it the wind was blowing so hard, and we ran into a couple dust devils. I just felt like, yeah, it was just really messy.
SPEAKER_03It was time to head home.
SPEAKER_06We just had, yeah, we had to head home. It was too windy.
SPEAKER_03Yeah, yeah. This was crazy.
SPEAKER_06And we need to be safe out there, guys. Remember stage two fire restrictions.
SPEAKER_03Yes, follow those uh those fire restrictions indeed. Keep our mountains safe. And uh I had a fun weekend. It was busy. I produced two comedy shows. Ooh. Well, first one was at Torreon for the Torreon Country Club uh community, and then the second one was Saturday night at uh the Elks Lodge. I brought in a comedian from Colorado, Nancy Norton. She was just phenomenal, hilarious. And we had featured comedian my friend Bob Kubota from the Valley, and it was just a uh a great time, and it's a lot of work putting those shows on, but then when the shows are done, it's like ah, that this is why I do it. It's just so so much fun to see people come together and just laugh and have a good time.
SPEAKER_06I'll tell you what, that's where we should have been is with you in the comedy show. That would have been better. Yeah, it was inside.
SPEAKER_03Yeah, yeah, exactly. No dirt in your teeth, and uh you would not have been blown away. Exactly, exactly.
SPEAKER_06Well, that is so cool. That's awesome.
SPEAKER_03Yeah, and then we'll be doing another one in Torian in July, but the next one that's open uh to the public at the Elks Lodge is August 22nd. So mark your calendar for that. We have Dwayne Perkins from the Tonight Show and Netflix, and so it's gonna be a lot of fun, yeah?
SPEAKER_06Always get the best.
SPEAKER_03That's what I try to do. Bring the best comedy right up here to the White Mountains. It is now time for motivational Monday with Janine and your granddaughter Addie's with you, right? Yes. Heck yeah. All right, so I thought uh with uh America's 250th birthday happening uh this Saturday, I would do some motivational quotes from some historical American figures. Nice. You ready? Yes. Ben Franklin said, uh, energy and persistence conquer all things. Okay, okay. Thomas Jefferson said, determined never to be idle. It is wonderful how much may be done if we were always doing.
SPEAKER_06Okay, I like that too.
SPEAKER_03Next one, John Quincy Adams says patience and perseverance have a magical effect before which difficulties disappear. These are all good. Uh Abraham uh Lincoln said, the best thing about the future is that it comes one day at a time.
SPEAKER_06Yeah, there you go.
SPEAKER_03All right, and last one, this is uh Theodore Roosevelt. Far and away, the best prize that life has to offer is the chance to work hard at work worth doing.
SPEAKER_06There we go. Ooh. I think I like number five.
SPEAKER_03Number five, the last one. Theodore Roosevelt, Teddy, Teddy Roosevelt. Far and away, the best prize that life has to offer is the chance to work hard at work worth doing.
SPEAKER_06There we go. I love it. I'd never heard that one either. That's good. Teddy, that's a good one.
SPEAKER_03There you go.
SPEAKER_06We love Teddy.
SPEAKER_03Heck yeah, that's our motivational quote for the week. Thanks for having fun with me, best friends, and uh, we'll talk to you tomorrow.
SPEAKER_06Love you, Chris. Thank you. Bye. Bye.
