It's Motivational Monday on The Morning Brew with Chris Bennett & Best Friends, and we're starting the week with laughs, motivation and plenty of morning show shenanigans!

Virgil the Cowboy checks in after a weekend at Sunrise with some very important advice about using the bathroom BEFORE riding the Drop Zone — and leaves us with a little Monday motivation: “Don't ever give up!”

Show Low's Dave Ramsey joins us for TWO rounds of Boo or Cool. First, in honor of National Spoil Your Dog Day, we find out how Dave feels about personal chefs for dogs, doggy braces, pet perfume and even CLONING your dog. Then, for Smithsonian Day, Dave rates some of the world's strangest museums — including a toilet museum, hundreds of creepy ventriloquist dummies and the Museum of Broken Relationships.

Plus, Jineane Ford joins us for Motivational Monday, and Lou from Taylor plays Price Is Right: Smithsonian Edition for VIP tickets to our August 22nd comedy show at the Show Low Elks Lodge!

Follow, subscribe and share the Morning Brew with another best friend!

Drop Zone Bathroom Rule

SPEAKER_01

So you told me about their drop zone, and you said if you do the drop zone, you better use the bathroom uh beforehand. So did you make the mistake and not use the bathroom before doing the drop zone? Uh smarter than that.

Welcome And Today’s Lineup

SPEAKER_01

Hello, best friends. It is me, Chris Bennett, and that was just a little snippet from Virgil the Cowboy in Eager, giving us some great life advice. If you're going to use the drop zone, use the bathroom first. Uh, we have a fun show planned for you today with Motivational Monday. Plus, we have some fun games that we got to play, uh, including Boo or Cool with Dave Ramsey here in Sholo. And uh we also gave away some tickets to our comedy show August 22nd at the Sholo Elks Lodge. Compliments of Comfort Fit Denters. And without further delay, let's get the show started. Chris Bennett and the Morning Brew.

Sunrise Lift Ride With Virgil

SPEAKER_01

Good morning. It's the Morning Brew with Chris. Who's this? Hey, good morning, my friend. Hey, it's Virgil the Cowboy from Eager Arizona. How was your weekend? It was very wonderful. You gotta go to sunrise. Heck yeah. So you told me about their drop zone, and you said if you do the drop zone, you better use the bathroom uh beforehand. So did you make the mistake and not use the bathroom before doing the drop zone? Uh smarter than that. Well, so what's your uh favorite thing at sunrise? Is it the drop zone, the alpine coaster? If I only did one thing, what would you recommend?

SPEAKER_02

Just riding on the lift.

SPEAKER_01

Oh, yeah, beautiful scenery. It's beautiful up there. Yep, it is. And the restaurant on top is pretty good, too. Oh, heck yeah, sweet. And uh then you went, uh you took the lift ride, came down, and then went to the bathroom and then did the drop zone.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, that's what I have to do.

SPEAKER_01

That's sweet. Well, what can I do you for this morning, Virgil? Uh, we want to hear the fall. Oh, by Cody Johnson. Heck yeah, sounds good. What do you guys got going on today on the ranch?

SPEAKER_02

Uh, we're taking it easy. Uh, everybody cut down all the trees, did all the fences. Uh, we're doing okay.

SPEAKER_01

Heck yeah, sweet. Well, I hope you guys have a great day, best friend.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, you guys be out there, be safe, and hey, don't ever give up.

SPEAKER_01

Oh, heck yes. That's our motivational quote from Virgil on this motivational Monday. Don't ever give up. I love you, best friend. Talk to you soon. Later. Later. Bye.

Boo Or Cool Pet Spoiling

SPEAKER_01

On the phone, we have Sho Lozone Dave Ramsey for some Boo or Cool. How's your day going so far? Boo or cool. Cool so far. Cool so far. Did you know today is actually Spoil Your Dog Day? No, I didn't. A boo or cool to that. Cool, minor constantly spoiled. We are gonna do boo or cool to ways people spoil their pets. Here you go, Dave. Uh, a personal chef for their dog. Out of control, totally boo. Totally boo. Even if you won like the $500 Powerball, you wouldn't get a personal chef for uh your dogs?

SPEAKER_02

Oh, hell no.

SPEAKER_01

All right. Uh what about flying their dog first class? Some people have flown their dog first class.

SPEAKER_02

Service animal cool, otherwise, boo. Say that again. Service animal will be cool, totally boo together.

SPEAKER_01

Okay. Oh, so like your pets aren't service animals, so they don't get to fly first class. No. Alright. What about uh dog braces? Some people have gotten braces for their dog's teeth.

SPEAKER_02

No way.

SPEAKER_01

You'd love to spoil your dogs. Like, if one of your dogs had a jacked-up smile, you want to fix it with some doggy braces?

SPEAKER_02

I'd take them to the vet and have them pulled. How about dog perfume?

SPEAKER_01

I get enough of that from Harry. Don't I you, boo? Well, Harry, you're talking about his farts. That's I would think maybe you would want some perfume for Harry so that you don't have to smell that. I keep a bottle of cologne on the coffee table for just such an emergency. Oh, perfect. All right. And uh how about uh a dog clone paying to have uh a clone of one of your dogs?

SPEAKER_02

No, I don't think so. You want it? Once you lived with them for as long as I've lived with mine, having a second go-round, I don't think I should deal with.

SPEAKER_01

Okay, all right. That was Boo or Cool. Spoiling your dog edition on the spoil your dog day. Uh, what's the craziest uh way you've ever spoiled some of your pets? The only thing I do is get them groomed. Nice. And you give the cats wet uh wet uh cat food.

SPEAKER_02

Oh yeah, they get wet cat food and dry cat food. There you go.

SPEAKER_01

Heck yeah.

SPEAKER_02

My doggies, my dogs don't like wet food.

SPEAKER_01

Oh no, just dry food. Well, the dogs are definitely spoiled

Back To School Motivation

SPEAKER_01

over there. It is motivational Monday. So, Janine, we're gonna get motivated. And I think the rest of the White Mountain is heading back to school this week as well.

SPEAKER_00

Yes, last week and this week, all back to school.

SPEAKER_01

Back to school. So I have some motivational quotes to help you taking the first step in life and heading back to school. All right. Uh, this is from Henry Ford. He says, failure is simply the opportunity to begin again, this time more intelligently. Oh, I love that. Uh Beverly Sills said uh there are no shortcuts to any place worth going.

SPEAKER_00

Uh, okay. Yeah.

SPEAKER_01

Leonardo da Vinci says learning never exha exhausts the mind. Learning never exhausts the mind. And Milton Burrell says if our opportunity doesn't knock, build a door.

SPEAKER_00

There we go. Uh gosh, these are all just good.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, you want one more.

SPEAKER_00

I want all of them.

SPEAKER_01

You want one more?

SPEAKER_00

Sorry, I want, yes.

SPEAKER_01

All right. Uh every accomplishment starts with the decision to try.

SPEAKER_00

Yes. There you go. These need to be read uh read in front of the, yeah, in front of the classroom every day. Get those kids jacked up. I love it. I love it.

SPEAKER_01

Yes. What's our motivational quote for the week?

SPEAKER_00

Uh, I like them all. That's a tough one. You pick. You pick.

SPEAKER_01

Uh, okay. You know what? Beverly seals. There are no shortcuts to any place worth going.

SPEAKER_00

There you go. Yeah, that's a good one.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, put it. Put in the work if you want to get to where you want to go. There's no shortcuts for it. Uh, that is our motivational quote for the week, and congratulations to all the students heading back to school. Yes. Everyone be safe out there. And uh, any advice to uh our students heading back to school this year, Janine?

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, and just yeah, read, read, read some more. I was talking to one of our local superintendent of schools here in um, you know, Sholo, and he just said, he goes, All to all parents out there, get involved. Keep reading to your children. That's a big one. And for it's more for the parents. Parents stay involved, you know. And now that the kiddos are going there, going back to school, back and forth, let's all slow down, drive safely. Just rem just a reminder. Awesome. Yeah.

SPEAKER_01

Thank you, Janine. We love you, best friend, and we'll talk to you tomorrow. Love you too, Chris.

SPEAKER_00

Have a good day.

SPEAKER_01

Good morning. It's the morning brew with Chris. Who's this? It's Lou from Taylor. Heck yeah, Lou from Taylor. You've been to one of our comedy shows before, right? I have. I've been to a couple. Is it A5 million, B 250 million, or C1 billion? Uh let's go with B. B, 250 million. Lou, you got one right. I love it. You're halfway there to winning these tickets. Uh, the Smithsonian also is home to Dorothy's Ruby slippers from The Wizard of Oz, the 1939 movie. What do you think her ruby slippers are estimated to be worth? Is it A 1 million, B, five to 10 million, or C 50 million?

SPEAKER_02

Ah, let's go 5 to 10 million.

SPEAKER_01

Ding ding ding. He just needed two questions. And he nailed it. 5 to 10 million dollars uh was what those uh shoes were auctioned off for last time. Congratulations to Lou from Taylor. Boo Or Cool Odd Museums

SPEAKER_01

We are back for a bonus Boo or Cool with Show Low's Dave Ramsey. It is Smithsonian Day, and so I thought we would do Boo or Cool to different types of museums across the world. Uh, you tell me if you would go to these Boo or Cool. Ready? Ready? The International Toilet Museum in New Delhi, India. I don't think so. No, no interest in seeing a bunch of different toilets from civilization.

SPEAKER_02

If you do the same thing in every one of them, so why look at all of them?

SPEAKER_01

Oh my gosh. How about the Vent Haven Museum? It's a ventriloquist museum, a museum with the largest collection of ventriloquist dummies, hundreds of creeping, creepy-looking figures. Boo or cool. Cool. Really, Dave, you and I are so opposite. That seems terrifying to go into a room full of uh just uh ventriloquist dummies.

SPEAKER_02

Brother still has one back when from when he was five years old. He still got it. He still got what?

SPEAKER_01

Oh, is Ventriloquist dummy? Yeah. Oh, dang it. Uh, how about the International Banana Museum?

SPEAKER_02

Cowdown on your way around. Yeah, that's cool.

SPEAKER_01

And last one, the Museum of Broken Relationships. People donate objects from failed relationships along with stories behind them. Everything from old love letters to random items left behind after bake uh breakups.

SPEAKER_02

That'd be cool, but most of the time you'll only find probably most of it would be rings and bracelets and necklaces.

unknown

Mm-hmm.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, so it's all mostly gonna be all jewelry because they're gonna walk out and just take it off and say adios. Adios.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, and uh, you know, but they'll have some good letters and maybe, you know, some good drama about each piece. So yeah, I think that one is you said cool to that one. Yeah. All right, you and I could go together, but it's in Croatia, so we're probably not going anytime soon. That was Boo or Cool with Solos, Dave Ramsey. We love you, best friend. Love you too.
