SPEAKER_01Uh, you know what? We just had an incredible weekend. Got caught up on all kinds of things. Yes, it was awesome. It was just a beautiful, beautiful weekend. An amazing horseback ride. We took a beautiful long ride out by Heber. And it was kind of interesting. It was the area I rode in since it's been um I hit my one-year anniversary since my horrible horse kick out there that I got AirVact on. So we rode the same area. So I got a little bit of the willies. But yeah, it was a really good ride on Saturday. On Saturday, yeah.

SPEAKER_01Well, um, one thing I would say is Apache County is having um a big meeting today. So there's people all over online calling for folks to show up. Apache County meeting. Um uh they're talking about um a lot of people are screaming for them to stop the funding of Real A Z and all that kind of stuff. So yeah, Apache for everybody in Apache, uh Board of Supervisors, the county having a big meeting out there. So there you go today.
SPEAKER_02All right, and also today is my dad's birthday. It's also baby boomer appreciation day, which he is a baby boomer.

SPEAKER_03It was very good. Very good. What did you do? You did what? Went fishing and caught two and then went to church.
SPEAKER_02Oh, heck yeah, that's a great weekend, and indeed. Uh, did you hear uh you're a cowboy? Did you hear about uh Janine Ford? Yeah, she's one tough lady. She's a tough cowgirl, man. Yeah, a year ago she got kicked by a horse when she was out on a trail. It kicked her calf, and uh she had to be air flighted out, and uh it was a life or death situation. I don't think I'd ever get back on the horse again, but she's a tough cowgirl and she's not afraid. And she even went on the same trail that it happened on a year ago. What do you say to that?

Cruise Ship Comedy With Dwayne Perkins
SPEAKER_02Joining us on the phone this morning is comedian Dwayne Perkins. Dwayne is our headliner for Chris Venicomedy in Alberto's summer comedy series this Saturday, August 22nd at 6:30 p.m. at the Show Low Elks Lodge. We're gonna be hearing from Dwayne throughout the week. But Dwayne, before we get you here to the White Mountains, you also spend a lot of time performing on cruise ships. So I've gotta know what's the best part about doing comedy on a cruise ship.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, yeah, the best thing. It it condenses it condenses your life where everything you need is within 10 minutes. You know what I mean? Like, I do everything on a cruise ship that I do at home, except everything is within 10 minutes. And it's a beautiful situation. I there's a coffee shop on most cruise ships nowadays. I go to the coffee shop, I check my email, I work out, and when when it's showtime, you can be like, oh, uh let me hop in the shower and go to the show. And you can do all that within a half an hour. And I live in LA, so everything is an hour away. Right. And so to be in it, be in that little bubble where everything is 10 minutes away and and there's food everywhere, you don't have to worry about it. You can actually eat bad or healthy, it's up to you. Like, you know, the mac and cheese is there, but the salad is also right there next to it. So it's it's on you which one you which one you get. So that's what I love. It sort of like simplifies my life. It's a break from traffic, and um, and and the audience is already there. So like during your show, you do a great job of promoting it. And I started comedy when I got in, my job was to be funny, not to have a million followers, you know. Uh, I accept the challenge, but I love it when the crowd is already there.
SPEAKER_02Yeah. What's the uh the worst part or the hardest part about performing on a cruise ship?
SPEAKER_00Oh, the hardest part, I would say, is just that the crowd, you're with the same crowd for like a week. And um usually like you do a show, you come in, you're like, you feel like a little rock star, and then you leave, and you leave, you know, leaving them wanting more. But now you do a show and they see you tomorrow morning and you you got crushed in your eye and you're eating oatmeal, and it just sort of takes away some of the some of the luster, you know what I mean?

I'm gonna give you two items. You tell me which one is worth more. You ready? Go for it. All right. Uh Nintendo. You ever play Nintendo or video games? No. Never? Oh, okay. This is gonna be a hard one for you. Uh, which one is uh worth more? Uh a factory sealed Nintendo game for Mario or a Nintendo game for Zelda, Super Mario Brothers sealed 1985 edition or the Legend of Zelda 87 edition. Which one is the thrift store jackpot? The Zelda one! No, no, it uh although it is worth a lot, $870,000. Uh Super Mario Brothers once sold for three million dollars.

Boo Or Cool Boomer Nostalgia

You like that? Really? I hate that. But also, I'm not a boomer. You grew up with it, so it was probably normal to you, right? Oh yeah.
