Dwayne On The Baby Slip
SPEAKER_04We are back for relationship advice Thursday. And back by Popular Demand, it's Dwayne Perkins. He had amazing relationship advice and insight for us last week. So we brought him back. Uh the girl's 29, the guy's 31. My boyfriend and I are long distance, and he has a really close group of friends, including several women. A few days ago, his friends came to visit us at his family's summer house. We spent the day at the beach, and while we were leaving, I heard my boyfriend call one of his female friends baby. I noticed it, but I let it go. Later that night we got home and I heard him say it again. Baby, baby, baby. So I finally asked him why he calls her that and if this is something he normally does. His response, I don't know, I never really thought about it. Well, I have. To me, baby is intimate. My boyfriend and I actually waited before we start calling each other that. I thought it was something special between us. So am I overreacting? Or is it reasonable to ask my boyfriend to stop calling other women baby? What say you?
SPEAKER_00Well, first, I uh I I just have to say this because it's killing me not to. Um no one puts baby in the corner. So I just have to say that. Um secondly, again, this is really advice for the guy. Like, that's such a rookie move. Whether you're messing around with this friend or not, it's just super rookie. It's it's I think I think guys have gotten so lazy because they think they can they can just basically um be dumb. And like anything that any their exclam their explanation can always be, I'm just a dumb dude. And it's like that that doesn't always work. Like, you can't call another girl baby when your your girlfriend's around. Now, for her, I would say she's not overreacting. It's a little interesting and weird, but what she should do is start calling every man that is around, that's not her boyfriend, when her boyfriend's around, she's she needs to start calling every man Big Daddy. Right? Even at a like a waiter at a restaurant, you know, what would you like to eat? Uh yes, Big Daddy. Um, I'll have a burger and fries. Just call every guy you encounter Big Daddy or something like that, and just see how he likes it. Because sometimes people need to be pushed toward empathy, they need to feel it themselves. Because, yeah, so she needs to start calling every guy Big Daddy, Mr. Well Hung, whatever the case, and that's gonna stop that baby stuff, or at least she's gonna get to the bottom of it.

SPEAKER_04JD Pepper, our fire marshal with the Timber Mesa Fire Department. Uh, before we get into any juicy fire marshal minute, did you hear today's relationship advice about the guy calling another girl baby in front of his girlfriend and her losing it?
SPEAKER_01Yes, I did. Yeah, I sure did, man. Um yeah. Uh bad move. Like, I don't know, I don't know too many people that uh that their that their other half would uh um welcome that. I mean, there's probably people out there like, you know.
SPEAKER_04Yeah.
SPEAKER_01You know, you hear your other people calling our wives old lady or something like that. I'm like, do you no, that's just a bad move. A bad move. So you're you know, I again, man, like, you know, like I don't know any any of my friends, like if I heard somebody, if I heard one of my friends say that while their wife is standing there, I'd be like, uh I'm getting ready, I'm getting ready to watch a murder like happen. No, that that's no, that's a no-go. No go in my book.
SPEAKER_04Do you agree? Uh do you agree with JD and uh uh Dwayne? It's a rookie move.
SPEAKER_03Yeah, yeah, of course. And at the same time, I'm not in no position to give any relationship advice right now. Burrito advice, of course.

Fire Marshal Minute Storm Safety
SPEAKER_04It is now time for our fire marshal minute with JD Pepper, our fire marshal with the Timber Mesa Fire Department. What you got for us today?
SPEAKER_01Hey everyone out there. Look, man, how about that weather last night if you were in Asholo, Lakeside, probably Pine Top, uh the Linden area? We uh we got some we got some rain, man. It was awesome. We need this moisture. It's just we're so lucky and fortunate to get it. And uh can't say enough. Uh with that, we every year we get uh some lightning strikes on homes. So during a storm, um before the storm, call call up, call up one of your contractor friends, or or or get in a book, get a get a hold of electricity. Make sure your home is grounded. Um, because every year we respond to lightning strike fires. So that's that's just something. Last night's electrical storm was absolutely off the hook uh with with lightning. Um so so there's that little bit. Um right now we're getting ready here, man. The weather's gonna change here pretty quick. You know, we probably got another another month and a half or so. So get out and start doing some of that yardboard, get some of your fuels cleaned up out of the uh out of the yard, as well as uh check your smoke alarms. Now's a good time. Check your smoke alarms. If you need batteries put in, let me know. Call us, we'll come out and put batteries in for you if you can't reach them. Um, or we can put in a smoke alarm. That's one of the biggest things you can do.

Hookup With His Brother Fallout
SPEAKER_04I'm 23 and I've been dating my boyfriend 28 for a year and a half. Before we met, I knew his older brother and we actually hooked up once. I didn't even realize they were brothers until I met the family. We both kept it in the past, and I never told my boyfriend, but now his brother has confessed that he still has feelings for me. He says seeing me with his brother made him realize he never got over me, and he actually wants me to leave my boyfriend for him. I told him absolutely not, but he keeps trying to convince me to think about what we could have been. Now I'm uncomfortable being around him, but obviously I still see him at family gatherings. Do I need to tell my boyfriend everything, including that his brother and I hooked up once before we met? Or do I shut the brother down, set boundaries? And hope this blows over. How does she handle this? What's your advice?

SPEAKER_03Well, I would say that one, but. Well, to be to be honest, I mean, the older brother's kind of stepping, you know. He's being a dream, he's stepping over the line, and and you know, the girl should have told the younger one from day one. Yeah, hey, you know what? This happened, that happened, and you know, he's telling me I need to drop you and get the older bull.
SPEAKER_04And then uh Alma and Omar, any uh do you guys have any feedback? I feel like um no, I don't have any feedback. No, you just agree.
