In today's episode we are explaining Police Powers of Stop and Search under Section 1 of the Police and Criminal Evidence Act 1984, including its definition and some real life examples. We will also explain how someone preventing a search may commit the offence of Assaulting a Constable under section 89 of the Police Act 1996, or Common Assault and Battery under Section 1 of the Assaults on Emergency Workers (Offences) Act 2018.
