Not exactly a pop culture focused podcast but we needed to get a couple things off our chest from misleading branding on deodorants to a bit of obnoxious anti-kpop comment.

Hey, how is everyone today? We welcome back to Two Sisters Talking About Nothing. Sorry, we haven't been here for a while. We've had, you know, issues.

And maybe one day you'll hear about them. But that's not the purpose of this podcast.

Um, and as a matter of fact, we are coming at July. We have nothing prepared. We are going to be ripping it today. So we're just freewheeling it. And I already have what I want to talk about. First thing today, by the way, I'm Kathy, and as ever, with me is my sister Linda.

Yes. Two sisters talking about nothing. And I'm sure when you start listening, you're going, God, they really are talking about nothing. Yeah, they really do talk about absolutely nothing.

But today is our angry day. We're going to be a little angry today. Actually, I am livid. I am a lot.

SPEAKER_01

Annoyed.

SPEAKER_00

So let me just tell you. I don't understand anti-perspirant and deodorant. Because they don't they don't seem to work for me. And let me just show you something.

SPEAKER_01

Is it the antiperspirant or the deodorant part?

SPEAKER_00

This they are deodorant. I'm going to read you the brand and everything on this label because I want Unilever to come after me. All right. Because if they choose to sue me for what I'm about to say, come at me. Because you know what? I'm going to rely on discovery and they won't be able to win this case. Okay. This is degree clinical because I sweat a lot. I have to get the extra clinical, right? And it's more expensive than the other degree clinics. Yes, I've been through all of this. This is degree. I've tried dove, I've tried uh whatever that other one is, and I've tried uh the generics. They're all made by Unilever. So I'm blaming Unilever for all of this, yes. So you know they also are probably also doing the the generic ones, okay? Yep. So look, I'm here to freely admit I do prospire. Yeah, I sweat a lot, okay? I use a lot of stuff, I use the sprays and everything. So the reason why I'm so angry is because I'm very angry because this says five times. So I bought it because it said five times. Now, ask me five times what well this is where they get you, right?

It's yeah, based on what, right? It's like nine out of ten doctors.

SPEAKER_00

You're like, what kind of doctors are doctors? Are you asking like veterinarians? Who are you asking? So um this is degree. I've used oh, and by the way, 72 hours, what a load of hooey.

SPEAKER_01

It's you're supposed to keep you dry for 72 hours, yeah.

SPEAKER_00

And wait, okay, so look, so I always buy anti-perspirant. So A, it's not too dry, slash deodorant. And B, okay, so I took a shower last night, I put this crap on my underarms, and when I woke up this morning and got up out of bed, I could smell myself. So you tell me yes, why am I sweating and stinking overnight? I'm asleep.

I don't know what you're doing, but I'm sleepwalking.

SPEAKER_00

I no, I'm not sleepwalking, and you know, look, I go to sleep in one position, I wake up in the same position, so it's not like I'm rolling and tossing and turning.

SPEAKER_01

I gotta cause a sweat. Oh, wait, so is is it unscented? Scented. This would be let me find out.

SPEAKER_00

Smell, I smell something, so this is okay.

SPEAKER_01

This looks like so you would know if you were sweating that the scent should come out, right? I don't know, it's like I've lost track. I have like four different deodorants based on what was on sale.

SPEAKER_00

So do any of them work for you?

SPEAKER_01

Well, again, we're going into the warmer months, so I'll let you know which one works.

SPEAKER_00

This is a whole year long for me, Linda. I mean, oh, that's I know this is just ludicrous. You know, I spend the answer. Oh, 72 hours is gonna last you. You know, it's funny how they went from 24 hours to 48 hours, and now all of a sudden, there's no way they can't even keep me dry for an hour. I don't even think Unilever, come on after me because you usually suck.

I know, especially I'd love that it's you're paying more for the clinical version. Yeah, for the clinical version, and that's supposedly supposed to be better for you. I don't even know.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, so look, so I've also tried that Loumi, I think that's what it's called.

SPEAKER_01

Oh, yes, yeah. How is that? I never tried that.

SPEAKER_00

Um, I really well first of all, it doesn't work either, but it already stinks. Like oh, does it?

SPEAKER_01

I don't know.

SPEAKER_00

You're going to put something that already stinks on your body.

SPEAKER_01

Isn't that the one that you could spray everywhere?

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, all over body protection. Yeah, up butt crack and everything. Yeah, all that.

SPEAKER_01

I'm like, oh okay.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah. And I think um was it created by a pretty much smells like your butt cracked, honestly.

SPEAKER_01

That doesn't seem I don't think that's in the ads.

SPEAKER_00

I don't know I'm pretty sure that's not in the ads, but I'm pretty sure they never say, yeah, and it even smells good. They can't claim that.

SPEAKER_01

You know what's funny about that brand is I feel like, and I don't remember because you know it's a it's a whatever you see online as ads, it's like a it was on all the time.

All the time.

SPEAKER_01

Maybe don't ever see it. I never see it, so I just wonder it doesn't work.

SPEAKER_00

It doesn't work, yeah.

SPEAKER_01

And it's I've never heard that. I mean, really, no, because you have to order it online, you have to have it shipped, it's not sold in the stores. I don't is it sold in the stores? I don't know.

SPEAKER_00

Well, I haven't seen it lately at the Walmart, but they had it on the NCAP, right?

SPEAKER_01

Oh, okay.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, and you know they got these little itty bitty things for like nine dollars, eight dollars at the Walmart.

SPEAKER_01

I'm like it's very expensive. That's why I never got it, and I just thought, I don't know if I thought this would work. But I did, you know, so funny is maybe it's we're going into the warmer months or the summer months. Is I remember last year, and I don't even remember what brand it was, was trying to copy that brand because that was an all-over spray. I don't remember which was that I don't remember either. I don't remember what it's because they all called, yeah.

They all like dub yeah, you know, there's a general everybody makes it all over body spray now. All it does is smell good. Okay, well, that's it's not so it's not you know solving your problem.

No, perspiration definitely not because that's a whole other topic. Yeah, I don't know. I just remember all the the ads of the women opening up their little pants and spraying. This I those actresses, God bless you're getting paid. I'll be getting paid good money because I'm just like yeah, and they're just spraying all over and open up my pants, spray. Just like, oh gosh. Oh that's pretty funny.

Yeah, so look, so uh you can't even blame or yeah, you can't. That's the only the only person you can blame is the manufacturer, and that's the unilever.

Have you ever thought about it? And anybody listening to this, if you've ever had this done, and you may not go, this is that's just entirely too expensive, but Botox is supposed to be. I'm just saying because I'm pretty sure that is an option for people, sweat glands or something, yes, or something like that. I can't remember. I just remember reading that and I just ignored putting on antiperspirant and deodorant isn't really not that healthy either.

I guess not. It blocks your pores, like yeah.

So I it's I don't know what to tell you.

I don't I don't know what to pretty much look. I am of a certain age, I've been using deodorant my whole life, and I I've yet to find anything that works.

Yeah, so if anybody has a suggestion, we're all ears interested in yes, all ears there.

SPEAKER_00

Now, uh honestly, the deodorant part of it is not such a big deal, it's that anti-person. Oh, it's anti-pressant, yeah.

SPEAKER_01

I don't know. It's one of those reasons why I don't like to wear sleeveless or strapless dresses because we're going into sun dress there. I'm like, because I just sweat a lot. Yeah, and yeah, it's like and it becomes a little because that's why if I can't wear a t-shirt underneath it or whatever, I'm just like, and there's so many cute dresses out there, and I'm like, no, I have to have a little cap sleeve or short sleeve, or I can you know put a t-shirt underneath it because it's fine when you're inside, you're like, oh, I'm going to a little cocktail party inside. But the minute you go outside, you're like, oh my gosh, it's hot out there, and I'm gonna start sweating. And the last thing anybody wants to do is okay, you probably could deal with the sweat part, it's the smelly part, right? Yeah, like yes, let's go to a cocktail party. And who's what does that smell? Like that you don't want people talking about you. Yeah, I know because if I can smell it, they can smell it.

That's right. If you can smell yourself, you know, that's the stink.

Oh you're trying to make an impression, you're like, Well, I am making an impression, all right.

I stink, I know. Yeah, so yeah, I just wanted to fill you in on my anger with Unilever.

SPEAKER_01

Okay, well, my story, I'm not angry, I'm just annoyed more than anything. So my mine is a Reddit story, but not one of those kind of Reddit stories. Am I the jerk? Um or I'm whatever the other one. Yeah, that's a whole nother. Some of those crack me. Actually, they range from you don't know the answer to the question, are you really need us to weigh in and validate whatever you are or not? And then some you're like, Is this made up? This is even some of them are just hilarious. I just can't even get over them. Some of them, so anyway, so I was on Reddit, and um the topic was about, you know, we're going into the midterms. I'm not gonna get too political here, anyway. So I made a comment on this um thread, right? And and the person was like, your opinion doesn't matter, you don't even you don't live in the state. I don't know how they didn't figure out. And I said, Well, it doesn't matter whether I live in the state or not, I could donate, and that's the reason why I asked the question. And then somebody goes, Why don't you just go to your BTS K pop group? And I was like, because my name on other threaded is BTS fan.

So if you're a K-pop fan, your opinion matters not. I know I'll go over there, and I was like go over there, stay in your lane, and then somebody goes, So who's your bias?

SPEAKER_01

And then I go, is this a serious question? So I'll take the bait, and then I told them sugar, and then I I just you know what? At some point, if I get one more response about something, I'm just gonna go in and delete my original comment. Because sometimes you you you think you're making a truly benign comment. Oh my gosh. Oh, so here's the thing this is a tangent on because I I I there's too much gossip and things that so um we all know Nick Cannon has I don't know how many children. I don't know. Anyway, so Marias has twins, right? Rock and the girl made a comment about her how she did know her siblings or some I don't remember what she said. Oh, yeah, I did see that she said that and then Nick Cannon um responded, and I my comment was I'm I was like, I can't believe Mariah and Nick have not had the conversation, you know. Whatever you post online, it's gonna whether you like whether you're saying X or Y, it's gonna be misinterpreted. And somebody just starts going on about well, maybe they did have the conversation. Just like because he was defending her comment, and then everybody else sort of chimed in. I can't even believe that any of these kids have any interaction with each other. There's so I don't again, don't even I don't even know how many there are, um, because they didn't grow up with each other, right? And they have different babies and the daddy mom is probably you know, playing around with anybody else. I know, and that's what I thought too. I'm like, I don't what so that's why I really believe that her comment was actually what she meant. But she doesn't she didn't say like I have no interaction with my siblings, it was just very matter-of-fact. Like I don't like I got my own thing going on. I don't again, how many are there?

They yeah, there's a lot of them. I you know, I don't know, but I tell you what, the two he had with Mariah, he made very good kids with her, like those they are the cutest kids.

Well, I'll I don't know what they I have no idea, and I I don't have time to be looking it up like because I'm truly not that interested. Yeah, I'm not that interested either. Baby mamas and how many there are, and I don't really care. And I'm like I don't think he can remember them anyway. All over the world are just oh my gosh, I can't even believe everything's gonna be. Oh, and it can't no so that's that's our venting for the week.
