him. 00:06:03.120 --> 00:06:06.319 They were saying, Don't touch the Lord's anointed. 00:06:06.399 --> 00:06:12.319 In fact, there was a time when David was convinced by people, go ahead and touch the Lord's anointed. 00:06:12.399 --> 00:06:17.839 And he did it, and the Bible said he was convicted in his heart because of what he did. 00:06:18.879 --> 00:06:23.199 He touched Saul's garment, he cut a little piece off Saul's garment. 00:06:23.439 --> 00:06:32.000 He was convicted that he was challenged and to not touch the things that God has actually touched. 00:06:32.319 --> 00:06:53.199 And it's kind of a warning for us, but for us that we don't go ahead and just go and touch the things that God has anointed or talk poorly about the things that God has anointed, but it's also a confidence builder in us that God is on our side and God is with us. 00:06:53.439 --> 00:07:04.240 I like in 1 Chronicles 16, 22, it's talking about God's people and how they were on this journey to the promised land. 00:07:04.560 --> 00:07:20.720 And as they're going to this place of their inheritance, even though they were few in number, even though they were strangers in the land, even though they were like grasshoppers in the sight of giants, they seemed to themselves to be small. 00:07:20.959 --> 00:07:29.279 They were going from one place to another, acting nomadically, not really finding a home, Don't touch them. 00:08:09.920 --> 00:08:20.800 And if you genuinely believe that God protects his anointed and protects what he anoints, I would encourage you to believe that about yourself. don't want to even go close to doing something that would disrupt or discrection in that place. 00:09:14.960 --> 00:09:21.120 Personally, I've had to remind myself of this even in the last week. 00:09:21.840 --> 00:09:44.960 When I look at the state of the restrictions and state of policies that are in place, applied to our church by Interior Health and by WorkSafe BC and just by government in general, it could be seemed like they're intentionally trying to restrict us from meeting together, intentionally trying to keep us from caring for one another. 00:09:45.200 --> 00:10:02.720 And as I look at the future and I look at this rate of infringement, I wonder how we can adequately help all the people who are in need while still honoring those authorities that are and those restrictions that are in place. 00:10:03.120 --> 00:10:07.120 How do we help the student who's having suicidal thought? 00:10:07.360 --> 00:10:17.200 How do we care for the child who's being affected by the ongoing divorce in her family or his family? 00:10:17.519 --> 00:10:21.840 How do we work with the person who's struggling with alcoholism? 00:10:22.320 --> 00:10:30.080 And I need to remind myself that when God anoints something, he protects it. 00:10:30.320 --> 00:10:40.320 And when God anoints this ministry and God anoints the school, and God anoints this church and the activities in this coming after us. 00:11:47.759 --> 00:12:06.639 But the Bible says that even though we might be in the in the pathway, in the trajectory space of that arrow, that no weapon that is formed against us And I talked last week about Peter and Paul and those who didn't look like they were great in person or capable in person. 00:13:50.080 --> 00:14:01.279 And I think about the scripture in 1 Corinthians 1.27, where the scripture says, Paul said, God uses the foolish things of the world to confound the wise. 00:14:01.600 --> 00:14:11.120 And he uses the uh the ones who are not influential and not of noble birth and not remarkable to make a difference. 00:14:11.200 --> 00:14:13.120 And God chooses us. 00:14:14.000 --> 00:14:16.480 God chooses us in life. 00:14:16.799 --> 00:14:20.480 God will anoint people that aren't remarkable. 00:14:20.799 --> 00:14:30.480 And if you're little right now and you see yourself as little, you need to be encouraged that you're the perfect candidate for God to use to make incredible difference. 00:14:30.960 --> 00:14:45.360 I hope this is an encouragement for you because not only does God uh the pos the anointing be a the possession of every fulfilling the prayer that says heaven can come to earth and his will can be done on earth like it is in heaven, and we can act as his ambassadors and his kingdom carriers on this earth. 00:15:04.639 you desperately need God, and you desperately need the anointing, what you don't need to do is stop and find a prayer meeting or stop and call a pastor or call people around you. 00:15:39.919 --> 00:15:44.639 You don't need to go to a devotional or put on praise and worship music. 00:15:44.799 --> 00:15:49.600 The scripture says the anointing is there for you because it abides in you. prayer is important, and prayer is never wasted, but I need to step up in my faith and I need to believe that I am anointed. 00:16:11.279 --> 00:16:22.320 In that moment, I've been given everything 1 John 2.27 says, The anointing you received from him, it abides in you. 00:16:33.519 --> 00:16:38.960 And you don't even need anyone to teach you in that moment, but his anointing will teach you. available to me to be able to prepare the message, deliver the message, get the word out, reach a student, reach someone in the crowd who's who's dealing with something internal, and and uh solve an mission and mandate, the scripture says this that the Lord has anointed you to preach, to bind up broken hearts, to comfort those who mourn, to set the oppressed free, to proclaim God's favor on humanity, to to give out good news, to insist that that there's beauty for their ashes, and there's joy for people's mourning, to announce a whole new year of the Lord. 00:18:37.039 --> 00:18:38.640 person. 00:20:58.960 --> 00:21:07.200 It's not only someone who is under authority, but someone who is responsible to move, uh responsible for what he's been given. 00:21:07.519 --> 00:21:19.039 He's this empowerment, this ability in them to be able to face the dark day. 00:23:13.279 --> 00:23:22.880 The Lord's people, when the Assyrians were after them, assaulting them, the Babylonians were wanting to enslave them. 00:23:23.039 --> 00:23:38.079 And during this time when they were trying to find their space and find God's purpose for who they were as a people, this the Isaiah writes this portion of scripture, and he says this in chapter 10, verse 27. 00:23:38.240 --> 00:23:52.480 It says, It'll come to pass in that day that his burden, the burden of the Sicyrians, the burden of the Babylonians, the burden of the people who are wanting to make you slaves and constantly oppressing you. 00:23:52.720 --> 00:23:55.759 This burden will be taken off your shoulders. 00:23:56.079 -->
