and uh back in December I got diagnosed with uh stage four uh liver cancer, and uh they basically told me to go home and die. 00:01:55.280 --> 00:01:58.560 And uh and I haven't yet, thank you. got our worst diag well, you know, there's been one of the worst diagnoses so far we got the last time, uh the last report that we got in was that my cancer has spread through my body, and uh but I feel no pain for some reason, and they don't understand why not. 00:02:40.400 --> 00:02:43.199 So yeah, thank you, Jesus. 00:02:46.000 --> 00:02:58.000 So anyway, I uh I wanted to make some memories as we talked about it, and I said, well, let's just fleece it and see like if God will, you know, do this. 00:03:11.120 --> 00:03:17.599 And I I just have a a little scripture I want to share with you because I know you're talking about miracles today, Brody. 00:03:18.000 --> 00:03:34.719 And uh I was just thinking for me, uh, one thing I can share with you guys is uh in 1 Thessalonians 5.18 it says, give thanks in all circum circumstances, for this is God's will for you in Christ Jesus. 00:03:35.520 --> 00:03:38.719 And that's been challenging scripture to me. 00:03:39.120 --> 00:03:41.919 Giving thanks in all circumstances. 00:03:42.719 --> 00:03:49.120 And so in that context, I was like, well, you know, let's just, you know, try it and see what happens. 00:03:49.280 --> 00:04:03.680 So Val went out that day and uh tried to get passports, and she ended up having a nervous breakdown in the line because the lady uh sent her away, and she came home and she said, you know, it's no, talking about it, and uh, and so the next morning at about nine o'clock, somebody texted us, and then by 11 o'clock, they had booked our tickets for us to go in the morning. 00:04:29.519 --> 00:04:31.360 So I was like, Well, I guess we're going. 00:04:32.639 --> 00:05:09.439 And then um uh a Val's homeschool friend heard about it, and that afternoon um uh her husband worked for Club Penguin, and uh they gave us 31 tickets to Disneyland, so we went for four days straight, and then uh and then people kept on, and then all the money came in for our hotel, someone rented us a car, and it just was like one thing after another happened, and uh I I was just amazed. 00:05:09.600 --> 00:05:17.120 I was just taken back by God and and just thinking, like, you know, giving thanks in all circumstances. 00:05:17.279 --> 00:05:41.839 I've been trying to really just thank God in everything that He's given me, and uh that's really given me strength and power to be able to overcome this season and uh and actually be able to see miracles um in my life because if you don't recognize the small miracles, then uh how's God supposed to do big things in your life? 00:05:42.319 --> That'd be wonderful if all the lights were green, you know, for your life, but we're not looking for for those supernatural all the time miracles, but we're believing that God can do miraculous things day to day, minute by minute, our ears are attentive, our eyes are are perceiving and looking for opportunity for God to do miraculous. 00:08:07.519 --> 00:08:12.879 How many of you know someone in your life, well, you just do right now, who needs a miracle? 00:08:13.600 --> 00:08:16.720 You need you know someone who needs a miracle. 00:08:16.959 --> 00:08:21.600 There it there is this belief, and we just have to address it right off the bat. 00:08:21.759 --> 00:08:25.279 Some people believe that miracles are passed away with. 00:08:25.600 --> 00:08:33.600 There was something that happened in the Old Testament, there was something that happened in the days of Scripture, but miracles no longer happen. 00:08:33.840 --> 00:08:41.440 But the the issue is we don't believe in a day of miracles, we believe in the God of miracles. 00:08:42.080 --> 00:08:55.519 And the Bible says that in Hebrews it talks about this new covenant that we have, and this new covenant, when it talks about Corinthians, it actually talks about the body of Christ, that in the church today there are people and there are functions that are happening that people carry, gifts that people carry, operations that the church can operate in that are miracle-working operations. 00:09:33.679 --> 00:09:37.519 The word miracle should not be a scary word. 00:09:38.399 --> 00:09:41.519 It should be a word of expectation, a faith, a belief that this is our God, and our God can do these things, that nothing is impossible for him, that there are things that are available for us that that are beyond our even our own comprehension, that no eye has seen, no ear has heard, or no mind can even conceive the things that God has planned for those who love him. 00:10:24.399 --> 00:10:36.240 The church is a place for whom he died. 00:11:22.080 --> 00:11:24.720 Uh, they don't belong to just a few. 00:11:25.039 --> 00:11:40.559 The miracles and the God of miracles is there to operate for you on your behalf in we're talking about this at our small group. 00:11:49.200 --> 00:12:00.480 Jeremiah, who's known as the weeping prophet, he was literally looking at Israel, and he was saying, Israel, they just will not listen. 00:12:01.120 --> 00:12:10.240 People will not listen, and they just began to weep, and he began to weep, and he went back to God and he said, God, it's what's going on? 00:12:10.399 --> 00:12:13.679 And God he says, I don't think that anything can happen with Israel. 00:12:13.759 --> 00:12:17.120 It's not gonna change, it's not, they're not gonna turn. 00:12:17.279 --> 00:12:20.000 Their hearts are gonna continue to be hard. 00:12:20.159 --> 00:12:29.440 And God looked at them, he says, I don't care what you see, I don't care what you perceive here. 00:12:30.159 --> 00:12:33.279 Is there anything that is impossible for me? 00:12:35.039 --> 00:12:37.840 Is there anything that is impossible for me? 00:12:38.080 --> 00:12:44.080 And Jeremiah needed to embrace that characteristic 00:13:05.840 This is the message to Jeremiah. 00:13:05.919 --> 00:13:07.679 And Jeremiah just had to embrace it. 00:13:07.759 --> 00:13:21.759 He says, you know what, despite what I see, despite what I hear, despite these situations and the circumstances around me, I'm gonna choose to believe the word, your word, and who you are. 00:13:22.159 --> 00:13:24.159 Can these bones live? 00:13:24.639 --> 00:13:27.440 Can this valley come alive? 00:13:28.559 --> 00:13:29.679 Yes, it can. 00:13:29.840 --> 00:13:39.120 And it's like the prophet said to Ezekiel, can't can they lit, or God said to the prophet Ezekiel, he said, Can this valley of dry bones, can they come alive? 00:13:39.360 --> 00:13:40.639 And I love his response. 00:13:40.720 --> 00:13:42.559 He says, God, only you know. 00:13:43.279 --> 00:13:52.960 Like, apart from me, if it was up to me, no, nothing's gonna happen, but with you, God, it's possible. 00:13:53.519 --> 00:14:05.440 So the first lesson, the miracles we bel we lean on is number one, yes, it's God's intention for the church, and yes, I can't do anything, He can. 00:14:07.679 --> 00:14:10.320 I can't do anything, but he can. 00:14:10.480 --> 00:14:15.039 We realize a hundred percent dependency on God and Him only. 00:14:15.200 --> 00:14:21.200 There's nothing that I can do to make a forever change, but God can. 00:14:21.600 --> matter if you have people of skill or musicians or or people of money, uh, those people won't help you when you need a miracle. 00:15:18.879 --> 00:15:23.039 It's God, God is the only one who can do shift. 00:15:34.720 --> 00:15:41.840 And uh I use the word shift because I know people don't like it when you say there's something that needs to change. 00:15:44.559 --> 00:15:46.159 So we're gonna shift. 00:15:46.399 --> 00:15:48.879 Shifting is easier, shifting is nicer. 00:15:49.039 --> 00:15:54.000 Shifting means we move into another gear, we move into another space. 00:15:54.320 --> 00:16:03.279 But the church and our city and our community and our expectation of God needs to shift. 00:16:05.519 --> 00:16:17.679 For there to be impact in our community, for there to be impact in in lives, for there to be impact in someone's body, there needs to be a shift. 00:16:17.840 --> 00:16:19.519 Something has to change. 00:16:19.759 --> 00:16:26.320 In the scripture, there have been 400 years of silence between uh the Old Testament and the New Testament. 00:16:26.480 --> 00:16:43.919 There was 400 years when uh nothing was said, it was like there was no word from the Lord, and people still remembered the words of the Lord, they still had the recording of the word of the Lord, but nothing was being said. 00:16:44.399 --> 00:17:04.160 And when we look at the scripture, we look at a little clue of a shift that was going to occur, and it was coming in, it came in Luke chapter 3, verse 15, that would help people understand spiritual things and allowing them to move into a space and an atmosphere for miracles. 00:17:04.240 --> 00:17:06.960 And the scripture says this in Luke chapter 3. 00:17:07.200 --> 00:17:11.680 It says, and the people were in what's this word? 00:17:12.079 --> 00:17:13.359 Expectation. 00:17:14.079 --> 00:17:24.960 And all men mused in their hearts of John, who was the forerunner of Jesus, but they began to expect something different. 00:17:25.839 --> 00:17:43.759 They began to expect a shift, expect a change 400 years when God was doing nothing, God was saying nothing, God was silent, and then but the people were waiting on God for this change, for this shift. 00:17:43.920 --> 00:18:02.880 And they looked at John and they said, Maybe John is the one, maybe he will be the one that will uh initiate this shift, and he would become the one, but he would be the forerunner to the one who would be Jesus, who would actually create that shift. 00:18:03.039 --> 00:18:13.680 But the people were in expectation, and it's interesting, the English Bible talks of this translates it this way it says, the people were on tiptoes. 00:18:15.119 --> 00:18:20.960 Now there are two places where tiptoes when when someone's on tiptoes happens. 00:18:21.119 --> 00:18:27.440 Number one, when they're coming in late at night and they were past their curfew. 00:18:27.759 --> 00:18:31.680 Tiptoes is when you don't be seen. 00:18:34.400 --> 00:18:38.079 You're quiet, you're stealthy, don't make a sound. 00:18:38.240 --> 00:18:48.559 There's that kind of tiptoes, and then there's the tiptoes when it's like when you're at Disneyland and your kids are like, oh my goodness, there's Mickey or whoever it may be, whoever's exciting at the time. 00:18:48.880 --> 00:18:53.119 Elsa from Frozen, and they're this tall, and what do they do? 00:18:53.279 --> 00:18:56.160 They get on their tiptoes, everyone wants to see, everyone's looking. 00:18:56.799 --> 00:19:09.839 Someone else stands on their tiptoes, and the people behind them are on their tiptoes, and the by the scripture says that the people were on tiptoes, they were expecting God to do something. 00:19:10.480 --> 00:19:16.640 And I'm telling you, as the church of KCC, it's the time to get on your tiptoes. 00:19:17.200 --> 00:19:30.160 It's the time not to be walking around quiet, it's the time to get on your tiptoes and be looking and watching for God is going to do something, he's gonna look for people who are expectant. 00:19:43.039 --> 00:19:49.440 He's gonna look for someone who's watching, he's gonna look for someone who's on that tiptoe. expectation, expect the miracles, expect the outpouring of the Holy Spirit. 00:20:32.000 --> 00:20:39.279 The atmosphere for the fire and the outpouring of the Holy Spirit is when people are in that there are people who like check in online and they're a part of it, and they're connecting from their homes, and that's wonderful. 00:21:05.119 --> 00:21:36.400 But the the fact is, we there needs to be a hunger, a drive that comes in our heart that says, you know, I'm not just gonna come to attend, I'm not gonna just come to listen, I'm not gonna just come to sing a song, I'm gonna come to engage, I'm going to come to believe, I'm going to come to pray, I'm going to come and put my faith on the line and risk something and believe for something that is difficult. 00:21:37.279 --> 00:22:06.079 He wiped it clean. 00:22:06.240 --> 00:22:14.319 In other words, some people walk into church and they go, Man, I don't believe that I deserve a miracle. 00:22:15.359 --> 00:22:21.440 What I deserve is the punishment for the way I used to live. 00:22:21.839 --> 00:22:28.400 The way I used to live has enabled this addiction, and so I've just got to live with this addiction. 00:22:28.720 --> 00:22:45.119 No, the Lord says to you today, I've taken that from you, I've put it on myself, and now embrace the miracle that you no longer have to work, you need no longer have to live with addiction. 00:22:46.960 --> 00:22:52.799 Realize that, man, I live this way, I deserve this debt, I deserve what I'm carrying. 00:22:52.960 --> 00:22:58.000 I'm saying today, Colossians says, He took it upon himself. 00:22:58.319 --> 00:23:04.160 He took on your debt so that you would become freed from it. 00:23:04.559 --> 00:23:07.039 That is the miracle of our salvation.
