All right, welcome back to this episode on Abundant Living. I'm Natalie and here with Janine. And we're going to be talking about abundant living, right? We've been mentioning how on our last episode was all about how we start to create that life of abundance and what does that look like? And so we're going to be talking about that here with you know when it comes to money, right? Because we're we're entrepreneurs, we're building our businesses. So we want to talk about kingdom, wealth, faith, and leadership and really like how does that tie into us building a business as women of faith in the marketplace? And to remember from our last episode, we talked about abundance is really in every area. And so it's really about walking with God and building something that will outlive you. And so it's not just about collecting more things and it's actually about more having more impact. And we can have a lot of impact when we start to create wealth. And I'm guessing if you guys are following Janine and I, you also have this, you know, kind of on your heart to create something that outlives you, to build generational wealth, to break generational chains. And so really that's why we've created this whole space and community is because we want to do that and do that in partnership with God and steward well, have big vision, big generosity, big leadership, big faith. We feel like this is really all about just like your heart posture when it comes down to it. And we don't have to choose between loving God and building wealth. You really can have both, and both can be used for good and for the kingdom, right? Everything's really about what is the kingdom impact that you want to be have. And so we're gonna talk about living in abundance and how that relates to our finances and building wealth. And really, you guys have probably heard a lot about money mindset. Hopefully, you've done some money mindset already when you're thinking about when you're growing and wanting to scale your business, because typically it's those money mindset blocks that actually keeps us playing small and is a big reason why we start getting held back. I think Janine and I can relate in a lot of areas. So we'll kind of dive into that today. But I also want to know that like we are not preaching prosperity gospel, but we also are not gonna teach you poverty gospel. So we're gonna be looking at this from a biblical perspective, have a practical conversation and really like what does that look like to have God honoring wealth and leadership in your network marketing business, dismantling any maybe scarcity mindsets that you might have and confront even a lot of that fear of money or the fear of loving money, right? That comes up a lot. Like, what if I start to have too much and then maybe I'm gonna love it too much? And you know, what if this or that? So we're gonna kind of explore some of those questions that maybe you guys are having and overcoming that, and what does it really look like to have that transfer of wealth in the kingdom and in our businesses? So the overall arching theme with this that we want to look at is having the stewardship, faithfulness, and influence, and it all goes to like what's the kingdom purpose behind it. So I have a question, and maybe Janine and you and I can talk about like what we would do because I think this is a good question is think about what would you do if you earned $1,000 this month in your business? And maybe you're somebody already doing that, which is awesome. I'm gonna bet that a lot of you are probably trying to still get to those $10,000 months or beyond. So $25,000, that's quite a bit of money. Like, do you know what you would do if you earned that? If you saw that show up in that bank account this month, where would it go? So have you thought about this before?

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, for sure. I mean, I think one of the things for us is, you know, as we traveled around the world and did different missions and, you know, kind of partnered with different ministries and orphanages and different things, it kind of broke my heart wide open for just missions. And I it already was, it was already something that was on my heart. But then just going out there and seeing how much need there really is. So I think the biggest thing for me, watching that and seeing that all come to fruition is helping some of these ministries to find ways to fund their ministry, like actually helping them with like startup costs to create something that is also going to create a legacy and make an impact for them. Not just like, I mean, they talk about we talk about this all the time, is you know not handing someone a fish, but teaching them the fish. And and yeah, there are some ministries that I think, you know, they are they are working all the time, they don't have the extra space to do stuff like that. But even in an orphanage, you know, something that I've thought a lot about is creating programs around helping those kids in the orphanage to to learn entrepreneurial skills, to then go out and learn multiple streams of income because all of that is biblical. And that's just something that I feel like we we put everyone in this like cookie cutter box. And I would just love to fund more things that really broke off those kind of chains and not just give them money. I mean, yes, I want to do that as well, but also to change the way that they look at money and you know, kind of break out of their own lack mindsets because so many of them come from cultures that have that. I feel like that's that's really big to me too. How about you?

SPEAKER_00

Love that. I actually went went to Uganda and they had that was their program, it was called Bead for Life, and they taught the women um how to create, you know, out of paper, like create paper beads, make necklaces, bracelets, all the things, and taught them entrepreneur skills so that they can actually go in. So I think that that's actually a really amazing idea. And that's a thing that I thought of uh like one a big and this didn't it used to, and so this is what I think kind of is important for people because before I had this lack mentality that I actually didn't really have but a big plan other than saving my money. I was like, I have to save it or I'm not gonna have enough because I think I grew up with that money story of like seeing my parents struggle and that every time it seemed like they got money, they would lose it, like something would have something would break or something would happen. And I just always heard my mom being like, Oh, we can't afford this, or oh, something happened again. And so I always thought, well, if I get any bit of it, I have to make sure like I'm keeping it and not losing it. And so God really had to do a work on me of building in that jet, like a heart of generosity that became like a huge prayer for me. And so learning how to give and tithe, and so now that's been a big part of my mission is not only do I want to provide and give to my own family, but like, yeah, I have missions on my heart and an orphanage and that like I have all these things I want to fund. And so I've started then also tracking like, well, how much would it be? And asking those questions. Well, if I want to get them bunk beds, if we want to do this, like how much are those things gonna cost? Because then that also kind of gives me a goal of what I need to work towards in business so that I'm creating that. And so I think that that really once you start to shift and have a plan for your finances, along with like investing and different things, then um, and that's been a huge part too, is like I want to create generational wealth by also having wise investing, that then even that can outlive me or be given to my children.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, absolutely. Like creating that legacy, and that's that's biblical as well. And so, and I bet many of you that we are talking to would say the same, you know, I need to provide for my family needs, we need to pay off our debt, we need to have that ability to be more generous, to invest more, to fund ministry, to to have kingdom impact. And so let's dive a little bit into scripture. And in Genesis 128, there is a mandate to steward and multiply. God bless them and he said, Be fruitful and multiply, fill the earth and govern it. And if we want to have this healthy relationship with money, you know, we aren't to store it up, to hoard it, to do nothing with it. Jesus talks about that in the multiplying the talents and how we are meant to steward our money. It's not to bury it in the sand, right? And so, and he talks about just the greed and love of money and not letting that trying to accumulate wealth to take the place of your relationship with God. It's really that mindset of God, I'll do the work and I'll trust you with the results. He's the ultimate provider, you know. Yes, we are doing the work, we're doing the things, but making sure that he is above and beyond he's the one that's doing it. And we have experienced having overflow and also having just enough to get by, and then remember this teaching that he will give us peace in any circumstance, much like he did for Paul. And in Luke 12, 22, it talks about how you know that is why I tell you not to worry about everyday life, whether you have enough food to eat or enough clothes to wear to look at the ravens. They don't plant or harvest, they don't store food in the barns. God feeds them, God provides. We are far more valuable than the birds. So can we fully trust him like the birds do? Think about it. We have so much more knowledge, and also we have seen him do so much more in our lives and create. I know for us personally, I mean, there's so many different miracles that he has so many times where I was like, okay, this I don't this doesn't make sense. And many times that I felt like he was asking me to do something that I'm like, all right, on paper, this does not make sense, but I'm gonna do it. And then something happens where he's like, Yeah, see, I'm gonna come through. And he continues to be this faithful, amazing God. So do you fully trust him? And then know that he wants what's best for you. Like he wants you to have that rich and satisfying and an enjoyable life, one where you can be generous and have more than enough for you and your family, especially if you can be trusted with it, right?

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, and I was thinking about that. So you and I too are reading in Proverbs and so and I think we were talking too about this of like both of the situations I think that we can be in as women. So maybe you want to talk touch base. So for those of you who don't know, I've been kind of the main financial provider for since my husband and I got married. Like we decided he could quit his job and focus on film, and like anything he made really just went back into investing in what he needed for that business, or just so he could like spend time writing and working on scripts and things like that and not have to necessarily worry about the finances. And that was really good, but there became like a seasons or some times of that where I would fall into like resentment or feeling like I needed to be and have in control. And so I felt like I also had to control the way he'd spend or anything he would do. And I was kind of taking this leadership role in all like in everything finances, and so it got me kind of back falling back into that stress mode and or the worry or feeling like we don't have enough or I have to do it this way, or if he spent any amount that I didn't think he should. And so it really put us in this interesting and difficult, you know, I guess, roles in our marriage, but like really praying through that, I realized that you know, it's definitely not for the fan part for the woman to like be in that role, but we're in that season, and I feel like God's like, you know, we're not through that season yet, but I know God has built me for that. Like he has made me independent, he has allowed that to be, I think, so much on my heart to want to, like, even if Skylar was making so much money, I also want to have the overflow and be doing that as well. I always knew I wanted to be a stay-at-home mom and build a business. And so what I really had to do was like what that scripture said was learn how not to worry and learn how to fully trust. And I feel like God brought me into a season where literally that's all I could do was trust him. I was like, Well, this isn't all going as planned. So I'm literally having to trust him for that daily bread. And that's what I really was praying to of like, give us, you know, it's like, let me trust you for my daily bread. Give me that heart of generosity to still give and trust. And so these scriptures, we've actually been doing a book club in Proverbs, and I realized so far, at least that I've seen, there's about like 17 scriptures or more um on money, like teaching you about local mindset around money. And some of these stood out, a couple of them was in Proverbs 3, 9 through 10, where it talks about honoring the Lord with the first fruits of all your increase. And I think that can be anything, right? The first fruits of your day, you know, the or but really if we look at this from a money standpoint, are you willing to give like that 10% tithe or give in the beginning of every anything that you earn, even when it looks like Janine was just saying on paper, it's like, okay, I don't know that we can because we have to pay for groceries that cost $200 more than it used to. So, but it's like we he says honor because he says, So then will your barns be filled with plenty and your vats shall burst out with new wine? And so it's like God gives us these promises if we're willing to listen and be obedient. And so one of the things I took a class with Jim Baker, and he's if you've heard of the brand, it's called Wealth with God. So I did you know you could definitely follow him, but he always gave one of the things he said in there that he always said and stood out to me, and now this is kind of what I live by is give, invest, and then live on the rest. So I've learned to give first where I need to and then invest, like so paying ourselves back, um, and then okay, now we're gonna live on the rest of that. And you start to find like you really can't do that versus doing it the other way around. And then I also love this because I think a lot of this verse in uh Proverbs 10 because it also talks about a slack hand causes poverty, so I'm not like laziness, but the hand of the diligent makes rich. And in some scriptures, it even or translations it says work hard. So I think too, like sometimes the world's way they try and make us think like, well, everything should be easy and it should just come easy and effortless. But it's like, no, like we do need to work hard, we can be diligent, right? But you're doing that all in partnership with him and with God. And like Janine said, are you fully doing it with God and you're doing the work, but you're trusting him with the result. And so it's just shifting a lot of those beliefs or mindsets so that you can start now walking in more of your inheritance and who God created you to be and what you have and the promises he's given you. And then I always just love looking at the Proverbs 31 woman because she's someone I aspire to be. I I never compared myself and thought, oh man, I can't be like her. It was like, oh, how could I be more like her? So, and seeing she did have multiple streams of income, she invested wisely, she wasn't idle, she was revered by people in her community, um, and she worked well and hard all she did. So I still have a lot I need to work on. But that was something and then um that really stood out to me. And this lastly, in this, I think when I like looking at scripture and you mentioned this about obedience. So if you guys go and read, and I encourage you to go read Deuteronomy 28, 1 through 14. And it talks all about how if you faithfully obey the voice of the Lord, if you follow his commands, the Lord then starts to give all of these promises um that he's going to give. And now obviously he's talking to the Israelites, but I believe these are the promises he's given to us as well. And that and he's blessing every single part of our life. Um, if we are willing to obey his commands, if we're willing to follow him, trust him. So go read, go read Deuteronomy 28 and just see the blessings, see the promises that the Lord has for you. And I think just remember too that we don't have to think earning or having more money is bad because if we look at Abraham and all that he had in the increase, and then Esther and how she came into increase and Solomon, right? And the women of the Bible, that also stood out to me, especially when watching the chosen and then seeing it in scripture. But of like how it said the women actually were help who helped fund the ministry of Jesus. And that was often using their skills in the marketplace. So we believe if you're in the marketplace, like you're here for a purpose, right? Beyond just making money, but also as a way to be that vessel, then so as you get the increase, like we shared at the beginning, kind of on our hearts, is funding those missions, maybe teaching others how to go out and multiply, right? And moving really the kingdom forward. And that can also begin with, right, making sure you and your family are provided for and not being ashamed of that. Absolutely.

SPEAKER_01

One of the things that stood out to me too when I was reading Proverbs recently, and first off, there's so many verses in there that talk about wealth. Why would there be so many things about wealth if that was bad? I can't remember which one. I just read it today or yesterday, but it was talking about how the poor, your neighbor, may despise you, but the rich have many friends. Why would that be on there if we were not meant to create wealth? Why would that even be there? And and then there was another one that stuck out to me too today that was, I think it was 1423 in Proverbs, where it talked about if we're working, we are going to create wealth. And let me think of what it said. It work brings profit. That's what it was. It was work brings profit, but mere talk leads to poverty. And so again, it's giving us the principles to create wealth. And this one stuck out to me, especially because I was just talking to a friend about this earlier today. In network marketing, especially, there's so many people that just talk about it or think about it, but they don't actually do the things. And that was such a like huge moment for me to like think about because it like speaks directly to what I think the heart of kind of some people struggle with is not actually doing the things, just talking about it and thinking about it. And that they say leads to poverty. And so keeping that in mind and knowing that okay, if there's so much that is leading and teaching us on how to create wealth, then is definitely something that God wants us to do. And so the questions that you may come across or you may have as you're thinking about that is isn't wanting wealth dangerous? And wanting it is not evil, and desiring that is not evil. If you don't examine that desire, if you want to create kingdom wealth and you want to make an impact, the only thing that's telling you that could be dangerous is not God. That is the enemy that is trying to stop you from making an impact in the kingdom, and you can do so much more with wealth than you can if you're stuck in in poverty and in lack and with a lack mindset. When you have a lack mindset, who's gonna listen to you? Who wants to hear that? I mean, think about it. And so I think what really should help you to produce that generosity and that stewardship. And I understand if you're in a position where maybe you are struggling financially right now, and you're like, that's great, but I just need to pay for my groceries, you know? And yes, like God wants that for you too. And sometimes we have to change the way we're thinking before our circumstances change. You know, a lot of the times, actually every time in my life that things were not good, which we haven't really gotten into a lot of my story, but there's been a lot of circumstances in my life that were not good. And every single time that it changed, it changed here first, every single time. And so keeping that in mind and reaching higher is going to put you in the right direction. But then also thinking about, and you know, some other questions is like, well, what if I fail and I lose it all? Well, if you think about it, first off, if you fail because you went after something, you probably learned a lesson. You probably got closer to your goal than you would have been if you did nothing. And then God promises that like faithful stewardship and that includes the planning and the mentorship, right? But failure is still a part of growth, of refining. And Natalie, I feel like I shouldn't even say this because it's totally her line, but she always says, do not despise your season of preparation. And so that failure, you need to fail forward. You need to go out there and take messy action because faith requires action. And so it requires you moving forward and doing things. So, and if you're thinking, like, well, how do I know that that's what God wants for me? Not everybody's wealthy. I want you to think a little bit about the gifts and opportunities and open doors and the the fruit of influence and and test like first off your motives, right? If you have the right heart and you are really thinking, I want to go and make an impact on something, then why would God not want you to do that? Who do you think put that desire in your heart? Who do you think is is is telling you to to go after that? That's that's not the enemy. He's not saying that. And all of those fears and those things in your head that is holding you back and making you feel fear, fear is not coming from God. And so just remember that you know, money is a tool. It's a tool for your mission. It's something that God wants to bless people with so that they can go forth and multiply and steward well, just as we, you know, kind of started with. And so keep in mind that it's a tool for your mission. It's not the master, it's not the goal. The goal isn't money. Money is the tool to help you to get to the goal, right? And so sometimes it's easier to focus on the goal, the vision, the what do you want from it? I'm not focusing on I want to make $25,000 a month. I'm focusing on what I want to do with that. And and I want to pray about that. I'm not worried about the $25,000 a month. You know, God's gonna provide, He's gonna come through. I mean, that's Not something we need to worry about, so you just have to continue to think, you know, let me put this in front of God and let me, you know, move forward with it. Oh, yeah, I love that. That's so good.

SPEAKER_00

So we want to wrap up with kind of giving you guys some action steps, right? Like anything that we can go and implement, right? That's when you know there's gonna be transformation happen. So we want to encourage you a couple things. One is if you have not already write, it doesn't have to be gonna be a one year or a three year, maybe a five-year-like kind of vision plan for your Kingdom Impact, like financial vision. Like, what do you see? And like we got go back to the beginning, and just like Janine just said, it's not about the $25,000, you know, the $100,000 or whatever it is, if it's like what would you do with it? What could you do with it? And prayerfully like talk about that and allow yourself to dream with God of what that vision is that He's giving you and write that down and share that with somebody. Share that you can share it with us if you want, or in our community. You can, you know, find an accountability partner, someone that you can share that dream with and that vision. And so you also then can start working backwards on now looking at okay, quarterly goals and monthly goals and then daily. Um, one of the things I've been implementing, I'm doing a millionaire mastermind membership right now, and they're having us every day write down not only 10 things we're grateful for, but three things that we are working towards as goals. And some of those are personal and professional goals, some of that is, you know, for your business, obviously. And so it's writing those down every single day. And some of them are third, and she's like, make them 30 to 60 to 90 days out. So it's like you have this big vision, but now you're mapping it out in a little smaller. So um, but you gotta start with being able to vision cash for yourself and doing that with praying over that with God and journaling it, and that's gonna give you so much more clarity, and then implement one money habit this week. Um, so maybe it is that you know, you just haven't been stewarding your your finances at all. And so you just need to get organized and get like, like we both went through like a wealth class essentially, and they talked about like you just gotta get visible with your finances. Like, do you know where your money is at? Do you know where it's going? Do you know what it's doing? So maybe you just need to get visible with that, or you need to just start saving a little bit because you're always giving out and to other things for your family or whatnot. And so it's saving 10% and then or and start to investing, or maybe it's you haven't been tithing and giving and you need to start there. And again, praying over that, what is that gonna look like for you? But I want to encourage you to implement at least one new money habit that's gonna help you know propel you forward. And then Janine and I are gonna put in the um show notes for you too. We have a few free resources for you that are just gonna help you be able to maybe move forward, whether that's you need to learn more about like what is it, what how do I steward my wealth more? How do I steward my finances I'm getting from my business and what does that look like? And so that and then we have our abundance mindset guide. Um, we're gonna drop some book titles in there that can be really helpful for you as well. And if, or as always, if you are looking for a way to produce and create more income for you, for your family, and for your vision, then we want to invite you to come and work with us to check out what that would look like and how you can come and partner alongside of us. And we are helping to actually teach women how to build and grow their business and do that with God, but also being able to actually produce wealth, create profit in your business and um doing that in partnership with us. So we'd love to um have you come and check that out as well. So all that information will be there at the links and you can get access. So until next time, we'll see you on the next episode and go share this out with your friends.
