More Than Conquerors

What if “more than conquerors” wasn’t a slogan but a new way to see yourself and your future? We walk through Romans 8 with open Bibles and open hearts, tracing the bold arc from calling to confidence: foreknown, predestined, justified, and glorified. That’s not theory; it’s the ground beneath your feet when life pushes hard. If God is for us, who can be against us becomes a daily posture, not a poster on the wall.
We dig into why embodiment matters for authority on earth, why Jesus kept his resurrected body, and why the enemy fights for vessels to twist good design. Then we clear the fog around salvation and growth: being born again means your spirit is made new by the incorruptible Word. Righteousness is a gift from Christ, not a wage earned by perfect behavior. When we confuse fruit with roots, we either perform for approval or collapse under shame. Scripture steadies us. God is love—he does not send sickness or sin to teach lessons. Returning to the Word refines our vision and renews our minds.
From there, we get practical. Peter’s call to crave pure spiritual milk invites a new appetite and a new ethic: strip malice, deceit, hypocrisy, envy, and slander; bless those who cut you off; forgive quickly; speak life. Trade grasshopper vision for promise vision and put on the full armor of God. Let this mind be in you which was in Christ Jesus. Whether you’re saying yes to Jesus for the first time or shifting your daily focus, you’ll find clear steps, honest encouragement, and a reminder that nothing can separate you from the love of God in Christ.

Welcome And Series Context
SPEAKER_00Hello friends and welcome to the Chaplains Corner dot net Today's series or we're gonna continue on with Change Your Focus. This will be part three. We're gonna talk about being more than conquerors. Not just a conqueror, but more than conquerors. It'll be season 2025. It'll be episode number forty five. Boy, it's hard to believe that we are getting through September and October so fast. I remember when I was a child, Christmas took forever to get here. Now that I'm an old man, Christmas is here but while I'm still trying to celebrate last year. I digress. I'm gonna start in Romans chapter eight and in verse twenty eight. And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose. For those God foreknew, he also predestined, and to be conformed in the likeness of his son, that he might be the firstborn among many brothers. Well if he's the firstborn, my number's in there somewhere. If you put your faith and trust in Jesus Christ, your number's in there somewhere. And those he predestined he also called. Those he called he also justified. Those he justified he also glorified. What then shall we say in response to this? If God is for us, who can be against us? He who did not spare his own son, but gave him up for us all, how will he not also, along with him, graciously give us all things? Who will bring any charge against those whom God has chosen? It is God who justifies. Who is he that condemns? Christ Jesus who died more than that, who was raised to life, is at the right hand of God and is also interceding for us. So we won't be condemned. We're not condemned. Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Shall trouble or hardship or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or danger, or sword? As it is written, for your sake we face death all day long. We are considered as sheep to be slaughtered. No, in all these things we are more than conquers, not just a conqueror, not that's my two cents, not just a conqueror, more than a conqueror. Through him who loved us, for I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor death, nor anything else in all creation will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus, our Lord. Once you give your heart to Jesus Christ, you are sealed with the Holy Spirit. Your names are written on his palms. You become part of the family, you become part of the body. Did you ever wonder about the situation with the body and everything? See, in order to have any authority on this earth, you have to have you have to be in a body. That's why the devil and the demons and all the ghosts and goblins have got run around trying to uh find them a body to get into. The demons of the madmen and gazardines said, run us into the pig, into the herd of pigs. They had to have a body. They didn't want to go into an empty, dry place where there was condemned uh weeping and gnashing of teeth. They wanted a body to reside in. That's why Satan came to Eve in the Garden of Eden in the form of a serpent. He had to have a body to operate on this earth. And if you don't have a body, you can't get very much done on this earth. You need a birth certificate. And that birth certificate is that being born into this earth. Jesus said, Nicodemus, whatever is spirit is spirit, and whatever is flesh is flesh. Nicodemus says, Can a man be born again? Can he enter his mom's womb to a second time? Jesus said, No. What's spirit is spirit, and what's flesh is flesh. You were born naturally, that's the flesh. You were born in the spirit, that's God the Father, sending his son in your stead. So Jesus came, walked, and fulfilled the Mosaic law, I guess I could say Abrahamic covenant. He fulfilled the law. He was walked perfect and upright before God. Therefore, God was able to anoint him. And once he received the anointing, then he could start doing miracles. But he had to have a body. Well, Chaplain Terry, I'm gonna back up a little here. Well, Chaplain Terry, you are referring to the preachers and elders and deacons and special saints in in the world. Well, friend, one of those important positions describes you. God didn't call you because anything you have done, anything you did, or anything you're going to do. He called you with love, and you responded by answering his call. You actually did not find God. God knew where you were all the time, and it was his love for you that you came to him. God knew it all the time that you would respond. When you gave your heart to Jesus, God's Son, you were born again, not a corrupted seed, but of God's seed. Which was God what was God's seed? It was Jesus Christ, the man, the anointed, the Christ, the Messiah. Came out of God. He was God's seed. He was the word. He's the word made flesh. And when he went back to heaven, he kept his body, if you'll notice that. Was it not the incorruptible word, Jesus, that came into your heart, made it anew, and created you to be made the righteousness of God? 2 Corinthians 5.21. Well, our righteousness is a filth, is a filthy rag. There is none righteous. No, not one. Yes, that's true. It didn't say our righteousness. It said our righteousness was of God. We were born of God. What got born when we got born of God? Sort of bad English, but what what who got born? It was our spirit man, was recreated, created anew in Christ Jesus, in the Messiah, in the man from God. Jesus said he was the Son of Man, but he also said he was the Son of God. You have both. When we become Christians, we become sons and daughters of God. God in the spirit. And one must worship God in spirit and in truth. John 4 24. Being born of God will affect your physical conduct, and we are as children of God. A lot of the time, look at the other's physical behavior as a measuring rod of someone's spirituality. One gets into all kinds of troubles or difficulties if we try and determine who is saved or not saved by his behavior. One necessary item that is so often overlooked is due to the fact that we don't know our Bible, God's Word. Jesus is the Word made flesh, personified. Because of not knowing God's Word or Jesus, we attribute a lot of things that God does not, God does that is not of his nature or desire or would ever do. Putting sickness or disease on someone, abortion, white lies, and cheating, or just to mention a few. Plain and simple, God is love. Read 1 Corinthians 13. I understand that a lot of what I'm writing is difficult to understand, but you ask it but ask yourself, if God is love, why would he give someone a disease or sickness? The short answer is he won't. So this week, contemplate on God's goodness, his love, compassion, and learn to memorize 1 Peter 2.1. Let's take a minute and go there. Therefore, rid yourselves of all malice and all deceit, hypocrisy, envy, and slander of every kind. Like newborn babies, crave pure spiritual milk, so that by it you may grow up in your salvation, now that you have tasted that the Lord is good. So this week contemplate on God's goodness, his love, compassion, and learn to memorize that, 1 Peter 2.1. If you haven't given your life to Jesus Christ, then by default you are living in agreement with the devil, who is an enemy of God. And he, you know, God and the devil are not close or anything like that. The devil is a fallen angel. He doesn't even come in the same ballpark. That's why he's going around looking for a body all the time. He's trying to destroy God's creation, and he's got to have a body on this earth to do it. Ask Jesus to come into your heart and make you a new man or woman in the eyes of God. Just say with me, Lord Jesus, I confess with my mouth. Jesus is Lord. And I believe in my heart that God raises Jesus from the dead, or that raised Jesus from the dead, and I will be saved. For it is with my heart that I believe and I'm justified, and it is with my mouth that I confess and say are saved. Romans 10, 9 and 10. If you're ever going to mount anything, if you're ever going to get up in anything, especially in the kingdom in the kingdom of God, you're going to have to change your focus and quit looking to yourself as broke, poor, sick, wore out, and of no value to God, and just sitting around waiting for him to come back eating Hershey bars and watching football on TV, and maybe having a beer or two and a cigar. That's not the kind of life that God has for you. You're his child. You are a child of God. You need to be doing godly things. Number one, love your neighbor as yourself. Love, love, love. When people pull out in front of you in the highway, say a prayer for them and bless them that they get where they're going safely. When somebody treats you wrong, forgive them. Forgive them. Forget about it. Go on. Well, what if they do this? You don't know what they did. Yes, yes, yes. I understand all that. Been down that road. Carry it around, as they say. Been there, done that, got the t-shirt. Grow up above it and get on top of it. To where you're not being reacted by everything the devil does to you and throwing a fit and a hissy fit and missing the thing to God. Because that's what happens when you start listening to the world and the devil. Jesus is Lord. If you're not seeing that in your lifestyle, you need to change it, change your focus, get into that word and read it till it starts talking to you, and let Jesus mold you and make you into a child of God. He's coming back soon. Are you going to be scrambling to get things ready before he shows up? Are you going to be sitting there waiting when the trumpet blows? I, for one, want to rest and wait. The grasshoppers kept the Israelites out of the promised land. It says them people over there are giants. We're like grasshoppers. It wasn't the giants that kept them out. It was their grasshopper vision. Get rid of your grasshopper vision today. Put on the full armor of God. Get into his word, get into his study, and start doing what Jesus would do, which is heal the sick, cleanse the leper, raise the dead, pray for the sick, pray blessings, speak blessings, speak compassion, speak love. Be like Jesus. Let this mind be in you which was in Christ Jesus. That's a tall order. But you can do it. If I can, I know you can. You have a blessed day in Jesus' name. Amen.
