You Don’t Just Watch Jesus Work; You Carry His Work Forward
Use Left/Right to seek, Home/End to jump to start or end. Hold shift to jump forward or backward.
Ever feel like you’re watching God work from the sidelines, wondering if you’re meant for more? We pull a thread through Luke 8 and Ephesians 2 to uncover a bold truth: you weren’t saved to spectate. You were raised with Christ, seated with Him, and equipped by grace to carry His work into ordinary places—homes, workplaces, and the lives of people who need healing, hope, and help.
We start by asking a clarifying question: in the crowd around Jesus, who are you? Jairus pleading, the woman reaching, a disciple close at hand, or a bystander? That lens opens a larger vision of identity. Drawing from Ephesians 2, we talk about moving from outsider to citizen, built on the foundation of the apostles and prophets with Christ as cornerstone. Grace is not just pardon; it is placement and purpose, preparing us to walk in good works God planned in advance. Then we trace how God’s abundance and the Spirit’s sufficiency shape practical faith. When Jesus says His words are spirit and life, it tells us where power truly resides—and why speaking what God says changes how we face need, fear, and uncertainty.
From there, we press into calling. If we are Christ’s body, we don’t mimic the Savior; we manifest His heart—serving, praying, and stepping toward the broken with humble authority. Philippians 2 gives the posture of service, and 2 Corinthians 5 secures our standing in righteousness, freeing us to act without striving for worth. The result is a grounded, everyday discipleship that notices need, prays with faith, and loves with courage. We end with a blessing and a clear invitation to seek first the kingdom, root your life in Scripture, and live like your seat in Christ is real.

Changing Your Focus
SPEAKER_00Hello, friend, Chaplain Terry Warner here. This podcast will be changing your focus or change your focus, how to. You know, if you're going to do anything in life and advance at all, sometimes you're going to have to change the way you look at things. That's what we're going to do today. It'll be season 2026, episode number four. Your main foundation scripture scripture will be Philippians 2, 1 through 16. When you are reading the New Testament and Jesus is healing and praying for people, where are you in the crowd? Who are you identifying with? Jairus? The woman with the issue of blood? A person in the crowd? One of his disciples? Or maybe even that you're identifying with Jesus? Who are you identifying with? In Luke 8, verse 40. Now when Jesus returned, a huge crowd or multitude welcomed him. That would be several thousand people, for they were all expecting him. Jesus had just returned from casting the demons out of the madman who was living in and around the tombs of the Gazarenes area. In that crowd, in the crowd that meets Jesus, Diarus, the leader of the synagogue, asked Jesus to come and heal his daughter. Then as Jesus is on his way, a woman with an issue of blood intervenes by pulling the power out of God out of Jesus and is healed of a twelve year sickness. Now I ask you again, where are you in the multitude? Are you the sick woman, the leader of the synagogue, or just a bystander? If Jesus who is presently seated on the right hand of God right now is the head of the church, the believers, the church being the church, then wouldn't they be spiritually seated with him? And yes we are. Ephesians two, four through seven, verse four, but God so rich in his mercy but God so rich is he in his mercy, because of and in order to satisfy the great and wonderful and intense love with which he loved us, even when we were dead or slain by our own shortcomings and trespasses, He made us alive together in fellowship and in union with Christ. He gave us the very life of Christ Himself, the same new life with which He quickened Him, for it is by grace, His favor and mercy which you did not deserve, that you are saved, delivered from judgment, and made partakers of Christ's salvation. And He has raised us up together with Him, and made us sit down together, giving us joint seating with Him in the heavenly sphere by virtue of being in Christ Jesus, the Messiah, the anointed one. He did this for He did this that His might clearly demonstrate through the ages to come the immeasurable, limitless, surpassing riches of His grace, His unmerited favor in His kindness and goodness of heart toward us in Christ Jesus. For it is by free grace, God's unmerited favor that you are saved, delivered from judgment, and made partakers of Christ, or Christ's salvation, through your faith. And this salvation is not of yourself, of your own doing, it came not through your own striving, but it is a gift of God, not because of works, not the fulfillment of the law's demands, tests, lest any man should boast. It is not the result of what everyone can possibly do, so no one can pride himself in it or take glory of himself. For we are God's own handiwork, his workmanship, recreated in Christ Jesus, born anew, that we may do those good works which God predestined or planned before his hand, planned beforehand, for us taking paths which he prepared ahead of time, that we should walk in them, living the good life which he prearranged and made ready for us to live. Therefore remember that at one time you were Gentiles, heathens in the flesh, called uncircumcision by the circumstance who called themselves circumcision. It in itself is a mere mark in the flesh made by human hands. Remember that you were at that time separated, living apart from Christ, excluded from all parts in him, utterly estranged and outbought from the rights of Israel as a nation. I'm reading in Ephesians, this is Jesus talking to his disciples, but it applies to us today. Now back to Ephesians. And strangers with no share in the sacred compacts of the Messianic promise, with no knowledge or right in God's agreements, his covenants. And you had no hope, no promise. You were in the world without God. But now in Christ Jesus, you who were once so far away through by and in the blood of Christ have been brought near, for He is Himself our peace, our bond of unity and harmony. He has made us both Jew and Gentile, one body, and He has broken down or destroyed, abolished the hostile dividing wall between us, by abolishing his own crucified flesh, the enmity caused by the law and its decrees, and ordinances which he annulled, that he from the two might create in himself one new man, one new quality of humanity out of the two, so making peace, and he designed to reconcile to God both Jews and Gentiles united in a single body by means of his cross, thereby killing the mutual enmity and bringing the feud to an end. And he came and preached in the glad tiding to peace to you who were far off and peace to those who were near Isaiah fifty seven nineteen. Then look at Acts two hundred and thirty nine, Ephesians two thirteen through seventeen and eighteen, Hebrews thirteen, verses fifteen, Hebrews eighteen. For it is through him that we both, whether are far off or near, now have an introduction or access to one Holy Spirit or by one Holy Spirit, to the Father, so that we are able to approach him. Therefore you are no longer outside, exiles, migrants, and aliens, excluded from the rights of citizens. But you now share citizenship with the saints, God's own people, consecrated and set apart for himself, and you belong to God, God's household, his own household. You are built upon the foundation of the apostles and prophets with Christ Jesus Himself, the chief being the chief cornerstone. In him the whole structure is joined, is bound is bonded or welded together harmoniously, and it continues to grow and increase into a holy temple in the Lord, a sanctuary dedicated, consecrated, and sacred to the presence of the Lord. In Him and in the fellowship with one another, you yourselves also are being built up into this structure with the test, with the test with the rest to form a fixed abode, dwelling place of God by in, by through the Holy Spirit. Well, it's quite a lot about read quite a lot of reading there, but you get the idea. I hope you're still with me after that. Let's go down a rabbit hole now. Genesis 126 says, God said, God, God said, God, the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit, let us make mankind in our image, after our likeness, and let them have complete authority over the fish of the sea, the birds of the air, the tame beasts, talking about cattle and stuff like that, and over all the of the earth, and over everything that creeps upon the earth. Psalm 104 30, Hebrews 1 verse 2, Hebrews 11 verse 3, Psalm 104 verse 30 says, When you send forth your spirit and gave them breath, they are created, and you replenish the earth. God spoke and filled the earth with enough to fulfill any need it would ever have. You ever notice we don't run out of oxygen? D'ever notice that the things that people can't see, they they they they can they can only control what they can see and feel. And things that are eternal things you can't see. When God created this world, he made enough oxygen. Right now, he made enough oxygen for six billion people. We're not gonna run out of oxygen. We're not gonna run out of stuff you can't see. God is a God of all sufficiency, and he knows enough to make that without being a problem. Look at uh John 663. It is the Spirit who gives life. He is the life giver. The flesh, in other words, the five physical senses, and by the way, add your conscience in there, conveys no benefit whatever. There's no profit in it. Grab a hold of that, the flesh. There's no profit in it. The words, that truth, that I have been speaking to you are spirit and life. That's why they had such trouble understanding, the Pharisees did. They could not, they heard the gospel, they heard the word, but they wouldn't mix face with it. John 3 31 says, He who comes from above heaven, heaven, is far above all others. He who comes from the earth belongs to the earth and talks the language of the earth. His words are from an earthly standpoint. He who comes from heaven is far above all others, far superior to all others, in prominence and in excellence. It is to what he has actually seen and heard that he bears testimony. You're talking, they're talking to Jesus, they're talking to a man, talking to God in the form of a body, called himself the Son of Man, because that's the only way they could understand him and converse with him, because they were earthly. And they had they had it takes faith to get that kind of level of conversation. Where was I? It is to what he has actually seen and heard that he bears testimony. Yet no one accepts his testimony. No one receives his evidence as true. Whoever receives his testimony has set his seal of approval to this. God is true. That man has definitely certified, acknowledged, declared once and for all, and is himself assured that it is divine truth that God cannot lie. For since he whom God has sent speaks the words of God, that would be Jesus, proclaims God's own message. God does not give him his spirit sparingly or by measure, but boundless is the gift of God. What does God give him? He gives him his words. Deuteronomy eighteen eighteen refers that. So you want plenty of words to say, and you want to count? Speak what God says. Alright, now let's go from point A to point B over here to point C. Then since we are still physically alive in our body on this earth, we have become Jesus' spiritual body, and we are to be ruling and reigning this earth until he physically comes back for his church, his body. So in asking who you are in the crowd, shouldn't you be considering yourself to be the body of Christ? And shouldn't we be conducting the ministry of Jesus on this earth? Yes, absolutely. Let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus, who being in the form of God, thought it not robbery to be equal with God, but made himself of no reputation, and took upon him the form of a servant, and was made in the likeness of men. And being found in fashion as a man, he humbled himself and became obedient unto death, even the death of the cross. You were in the same boat and same condition. You're not the son, you're not the only begotten son of God, don't get me wrong. But you became obedient to death, and you old man died, and you were buried together with him in baptism, but you rose without sin. You rose in total righteousness. Second Corinthians 5. He who knew no sin was made to be sin for me, that I might be made the righteousness of God in Christ Jesus. My righteousness? No, no. God's righteousness. I am made righteous with his righteousness. I am made whole and sanctified and delivered and more than a conqueror. Walk in love. Because of Christ coming down from his heavenly position as a man and dying for me and my sins, then letting me be raised with him in a newness of life. All right. Went down another rabbit hole, didn't I? Okay. So I ask again, where are you in the crowd? Should you be the body of Christ? Yeah. Now consider that if you are truly the body of Christ, shouldn't your focus be on healing the sick, hurting the lame and needy until Christ returns? Luke four, eighteen through nineteen. If we have truly put our faith and trust in Jesus Christ and received His Spirit, should we not also be doing the same works that Jesus did? I urge you to read Mark sixteen, fifteen through eighteen, and Luke fourteen, sixteen through twenty one. Jesus is returning soon. Do you know where you are in the crowd of life? Yes, let me repeat myself. I for one want to be in the body of Christ ministering to the people that need to be saved, healed, and delivered from the grasp of the devil and his cohort. I want to act and talk like Jesus, my love abounding to others who are struggling. I want to be acting and living like Jesus. Starting right now, I need to start acting, walking and talking just like Jesus, because he, Jesus, through his sacrifice, has recreated me just like I had never sinned and transformed me into the body of Christ, just like I had never knew or met or knew Adam at all. I knew God in the perfect sense when he created the world. Still do. And transformed me into and transformed me into the body of Christ and giving me his power and authority to defeat the devil in the world. You reach this goal by reading, studying, listening, and speaking the word to God, mainly by believing. Matthew 6 33 will get you going in the right direction. You have a blessed day in Jesus' name.
