Giants don’t shrink when you stare at them, but faith reframes what you’re looking at. We open with Joshua and Caleb’s bold declaration—“we are well able”—and press into why two spies trusted God while a nation stalled at the edge of promise. From there we connect the dots to our own hesitation: decades of miracles behind us, opportunities in front of us, and a heart that wavers between memory and fear.

We dig into the engine room of courage. Romans 10 shows how faith starts with heart-belief and open confession, not endless striving for a better feeling. You don’t earn righteousness by perfect performance; you receive it through Jesus. That shift—from trying to deserve God to trusting what He already gave—ends the burnout cycle and restores clarity. We explore why begging for “more faith” misses the point when God has already dealt the measure of faith, and how hearing and agreeing with the Word activates what’s been placed in you.

Then we walk through 2 Peter 1 and its stunning claim: His divine power has given us everything for life and godliness, and His promises make us partakers of the divine nature. This is not permission to coast; it’s power to grow. We show how to add virtue, knowledge, self-control, endurance, godliness, brotherly affection, and love without slipping back into legalism. If shame over old sins keeps clouding the present, we call it out and replace it with the truth of full forgiveness. The result is a practical path from fear to fruitfulness, from surviving to stewarding the victory Christ already secured.

Hello, friend, Chaplain Terry Warner here. This will be God has given you everything you need. Your foundation scripture is 2 Peter. It's season 2026. It's episode number five. I'm going to start in Numbers. Caleb quieted the people before Moses and said, Let us go up at once and possess it. We are well able to conquer it. He's talking about the promised land. Out of over two million people, there were only two who were convinced that God would give them victory to take the land. Maybe a few more agreed with Joshua and Caleb that we don't know about. Moses probably, you know, Aaron. But anyway, very only two said we could go take it. How could Caleb and Joshua say that God would give them victory? We find the Old Testament question was answered in the New Testament. Now, granted, Joshua and Caleb had over 600,000 men, plus women and children, estimated to be over two million people, the Israelites had just crossed the Red Sea on dry ground after observing and victorious through the plagues that were inflicted on the Egyptians. The distance was estimated to be between 200 and 300 miles and could have been reached in approximately eleven days. So after ten plagues, which had been estimated to last ten weeks to one year, crossing the Red Sea, and then approximately and arriving at the Promised Land safely, and remember the Israelites had no one feeble or sick or crippled in this short trip. Psalm 105. Amplified. Exodus 12, 35 through 51. In that short length of time, Israel could not believe God for complete deliverance from the Egyptians to conquering the promised land. Now, back to our original question. How did Joshua and Caleb know that they could conquer the promised land? The interest found in the New Testament, but Joshua and Caleb didn't have the New Testament. As a matter of fact, the New Testament would be twelve hundred to fifteen hundred years before it was available. However, Gada is the same yesterday, today, and tomorrow. And it is not action, sacrifices, repentance, but faith that makes everything work and function. That would be Hebrews 11 1. How do we get more faith? Well, we actually don't. We were given the measure of faith when we accepted Jesus Christ as our Lord and Savior. Romans 12 3. For I say, through the grace given unto me, to every man that is among you, not to think of himself more highly than he ought to think, but to think soberly, according as God dealt to every man the measure of faith. But I ask you again, how do we get more faith? And again, if you're trying to get faith to beg God by begging God to get more from God, more faith, you're going to be burnt out, become discouraged, then angry, then frustrated, and then disobedient, and would get a foot in the door, and disobedience would get a foot in the door. So let's get this faith battle down first so we can understand and see how the early church was able to have so many miracles. You know, I look back at the history and I've been reading a book on God's generals, and it is amazing the miracles we had back in the 20s, 30s, 40s, and 50s. And in the 60s, they started fiddling out because let the world get in there and cause all kinds of problems. The devil get in there, I should say. For let's for an example, let's say that you hear one of my podcasts and I am speaking the word of God. Your spirit man is going to hear the word of God and is going to respond positive or negative. When your spirit accepts God's word, because if you acknowledge and confess with your lips that Jesus is Lord, and in your heart believe, adhere to, trust in, and rely on the truth that God has raised him from the dead, you will be saved. That's Romans 10 9 amplified. For with the heart a person believes, adheres to, trusts in, and relies on Christ, and so is justified, are declared righteous, acceptable to God, and with the mouth he confesses, declares openly, and speaks out freely his faith, and confirms his salvations. That's Roman 10 10, amplified. Now your soul, made up of your mind, your will, and emotions, make the decision to accept Christ as your Lord and Savior. Upon making this decision, your spirit man, not your soul, is born again. And when that happens, the Holy Spirit comes into your life. Your sins are forgiven, they're past, present, and future, and you're recreated in the image of God, not made over or redone. You are recreated. You are now able to be in the presence of God just like you have never sinned. Now let's take a look at some scripture that will amaze you and set you free from sin and death. Okay, let's look at Leviticus 8.5. For Moses writes that the man who can practice the righteousness, perfect conformity to God's will, which is based on the law, with all of its intricate demands, shall live by it. That's Leviticus 8.5. That is trying to obtain righteousness by following the law. Verse 6, in chapter 8 of Leviticus, mainly the first five books of Moses, is Leviticus. Moses instructs the priests and the Israelites of the commandments with all the rules and sacrifices needed to obtain righteousness. If one would try and reach acceptance from God, well, it becomes clearly obvious that the righteousness is not possible to be earned by doing something or not doing something that God requires. You can't be perfect. Only God is perfect. Righteousness is not something that is earnable because behavior and following laws, sacrifices, and commandments may make you look pious, religious, holy, and acceptable, but being made righteous is a finished product that comes directly from God through the blood sacrifice of Jesus Christ. Even if you tried to do this, you would be disqualified as a sacrifice, because the sacrifice being offered had to be sinless. You were not born sinless. Also, righteousness comes from God. Your righteousness is as filthy rags, Isaiah 64, 6, is as a filthy rag. So we see that all God's attributes come through Jesus Christ. We now will return and can reconsider how the Israelites came out of Egypt and quickly failed to receive what God had planned for them, and how we have been rescued from doing the same thing the Israelites did. Let's go to part two. Simon Peter, I'm in chapter two. I'm in Simon, I'm in Peter for Second Peter chapter one. Simon Peter, a servant and apostle, special and messenger of Jesus Christ, to those who have received or obtained an equal privilege of like precious faith with ourselves in and through righteousness of our God and Savior Jesus Christ. We have just been included in the same group as Peter and the other believers since Pentecost. Verse 2 May God may grace, God's favor and peace, which is perfect well-being and all necessary good, all spiritual prosperity, and freedom from fears and agitating passions and moral conflicts be multiplied unto you in the full, personal, precise, and correct knowledge of God and of Jesus our Lord. For his divine power has bestowed upon us all things that are requisite and suited to life and godliness, through the full personal knowledge of Him who called us by and to His own glory and excellence, virtue, that is, by means of these He has bestowed on us His precious and exceedingly great promises, so that through them you may escape by flight from the moral decay, the rottenness and corruption that is in the world because of covetedness, lust and greed, and become sharers or partakers of the divine nature. For this very reason, adding your diligence to the divine promises, employ every effort in exercising your faith to develop moral or virtual excellence, resolution, Christian energy, and in exercising virtue, develop knowledge, that's intelligence. And in exercising knowledge develop self control, and in exercising self control develop steadfastness, patience, endurance, and in exercising steadfastness, develop godliness, piety, and in exercising godliness develop Christian love. For as these qualities are yours and increasingly abound in you, they will keep you from being idle or unfruitful until the full personal knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Messiah, the anointed one. For whoever lacks these qualities is blind, spiritually short-sighted, seeing only what is near to him, and has become oblivious to the fact that he was cleansed from his old sins. Because of this, brethren, be all the more solicitous and eager to make sure to ratify, to strengthen, to make steadfast your calling and election. For if you do this you will never stumble or fall. Man, I am so short of all these uh attributes that I just read that I need to get in the Word and get to studying and get to honoring Jesus Christ better and get to living in victory instead of going around under the circumstances of life defeated and worn out and tired and angry all the time. Now, where was I? And in exercising godliness, develop Christian love. For as these qualities are yours and increasingly abound in you, they will keep you from being idle or unfruitful until the full personal knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ and Messiah the anointed one. For whoever lacks these qualities is blind spiritually, short-sighted, seeing only what is near to him, and has become oblivious to the fact that he was cleansed from his old sins. You confessed your sins and asked God to forgive you. He did exactly that. Put them in the sea of forgiveness, threw them behind his back, put them as far as the east as from the west. They don't exist anymore. Quit living by what you did in the past and start living by what you can do with Jesus. Because of this, brethren, be all the more solicitus and eager to make sure, to ratify, to strengthen, to make steadfast your calling and election, for if you do this, you will never stumble or fall. God has won the war. Quit fighting for something you already have obtained through Jesus Christ and start living in victory. It's never too late to succeed. Friend, thank you so much for listening. You know, we have a website, thechaplainscorner.net, and you can make donations on that website, and those donations go to help children. That's all it's used for. We don't use it for personal expenses at all. We might occasionally pay a bill out of it if we have to, if we have the money. But when we get a couple hundred dollars in there, we give it to the children that need it, that can't speak for themselves, that are being abused and everything else. So help we'd lee we'd love to have your donations because we could do so much more. My book is at the publisher's. It should be coming out soon. It's something to think about, volume one, and there'll be some more coming, and plus a biography coming. We love you so much. We pray for you. Join our group, join our mailing list. We won't dun you with anything, we won't sell it. We'll just fill you with encouraging words every so often, and let you have a good and prosperous day. You know, it gets better when you bring Jesus into the fix. You have a blessed day in Jesus' name. Amen. And we'll see you next week if the Lord doesn't rapture us out. Amen.
