Ever wonder what happens to reality stars after the cameras stop rolling? Peter Madrigal shows us exactly how to parlay 15 minutes of fame into a lasting career with substance and vision.
After ten seasons as the steady, responsible face of Vanderpump Rules, Peter has transformed from SUR restaurant manager to CEO and founder of The Reality Network. With characteristic Gemini energy and entrepreneurial drive, he's building a media platform that's already home to shows like "Catching Cheaters," "Gown and Out in Beverly Hills," and "Hair Cult," with more original content on the way.
What makes Peter's story compelling isn't just his business acumen—it's his perspective on why some reality personalities thrive while others crash and burn. "I've always had my head on my shoulders," he explains, a quality that's allowed him to maintain strong relationships with industry players like Lisa Vanderpump while pursuing ambitious new ventures. His insights on what makes compelling reality TV—authentic relationships between cast members who genuinely know each other—reveal why the original Vanderpump Rules cast created "pop culture history" that new iterations struggle to replicate.
Beyond the business talk, Peter shares entertaining behind-the-scenes stories from his years at SUR, from celebrity encounters with Selena Gomez to Lisa Vanderpump convincing him to break his "dry month" for a tequila shot. He's refreshingly candid about former castmates (especially during our "Sip or Spill" game), while maintaining the diplomatic touch that's made him a reality TV survivor.
Tune in for a masterclass in career longevity from someone who's seen it all in the reality TV world and is now writing his own rules for success. Follow Peter's journey on Instagram @peter_madrigal and check out The Reality Network on Roku or at https://www.realitynetwork.tv/.
Welcome and Life Updates
Speaker 1all right, welcome back to milk and honey, the two ingredients you need for perfect tea.
Speaker 2I'm kayla becker, I'm vanessa curry and today's episode is hotter than the espresso machine at Sir on a Friday night. Clever, see what you did there today.
Speaker 1She said that because today we are joined by the Peter Magical of Vanderpump Rules, also longtime restaurant manager and now the owner and CEO of the Reality Network. But before we bring him on, we do want to talk about a few life updates with me and Vanessa. And I know Vanessa, you've know Vanessa, I don't know any life updates of mine other than just getting the show off the ground. I feel like that's been my entire life for the last few months. But you've had some cool projects you've been working on.
Speaker 2It has been. It does feel like that.
Speaker 2We do nothing but talk to each other about the show, which I love, obviously. But yes, I actually shot a film, a feature film, last I don't know Friday or a couple days ago, let's just put it that way and it was awesome. My character was it's called the Lake House. I'm like, let me just talk about it, hold on, let me back up for a second. I shot a feature film called the Lake House. It is produced, written, also acted, by brian hooks and, uh, my character was super fun. Can you give us a little?
Speaker 1like, taste of what your character like, like. Give me that, that character she oh like the actual I want you to act like be her to me for a second um, okay, so my character, sophie, just like really wants to get married.
Speaker 2Okay, so, if so, if she's going to get broken up with, like you can't break up with me because we have a wedding, we planned a wedding. Okay, like the. The invitations are out, the sponsors are out, so high maintenance, right, you know what I mean. She's high maintenance, she's oblivious to anything. But also the audience is probably going to wonder is she oblivious or does she just not care and all she really cares about?
Speaker 1is like herself and the wedding. Is there any part of uh sophie that you felt is a little vanessa? Absolutely I.
Speaker 2I want to say no because, like duh, I'm not oblivious or like any of that, but no, there's definitely. Uh, sophie is definitely inside of me and well you know what I mean I'm sweating.
Speaker 1We are 12 year old children, sometimes like teenage boys. Well, I can't wait to watch this.
Speaker 2Do you?
Speaker 1have any idea when it's coming out.
Speaker 2Or we never know.
Speaker 1I know the movie a year ago and I still have no information on when it's coming out, so we never know, but it was.
Speaker 2It was super fun, very layered character. I'm still have no information on when it's coming out Exactly, so we never know, but it was super fun, very layered character. I'm excited for it and when it does come out, I can't wait how about you.
Speaker 1Like I said, this is pretty much it. She goes through her camera roll to like kind of jog her memory of things that have happened. I do, I should have done that. I'll be more prepared next week for more life updates, I think. I don't know if I can. It's the only way you have to look through your camera roll Cause.
Speaker 2I forget. I have the memory of a fish sometimes, so I forget. So I literally looked back and I said, oh, I did do that. Oh, and I did do that, oh, okay, I do have life updates.
Speaker 1Well, we did have our launch party with our friends. That we did when we launched milk and honeys. You probably saw it on the social medias, which is really nice to have such a good group of friends who came out and supported us and got tequila drunk with us Absolutely.
Speaker 3On Cinco de Drinco. On Cinco de Drinco. That's right. It's the only way to do it.
Meet Peter Madrigal
Speaker 1All right honeys. Well, I mentioned it earlier, it is now time to bring on our guest who is giggling like a teenage boy, like we were just now at that joke. You know him from Vander we're talking business brains and a little behind-the-scenes tea. He's a longtime restaurant manager, a reality TV fixture and now the owner and CEO of the Reality Network, peter Magical. Welcome to Milk and Honey.
Speaker 3Thank you for having me on, ladies.
Speaker 1Of course I really appreciate it.
Speaker 2I'm so happy to have you here. Thank you for joining. Huh, I said thank you for joining. Oh, I thought you said twinning. Here, I'm going to take my hair down. Oh twinning, yes, oh yes, I'm going to take my hair down. We have our hair down. Look at that, check it out. Why not, why?
Speaker 1not Woo-hoo Our views just skyrocketed, skyrocketed.
Speaker 3Oh, do they? Now we're going to see a shampoo. I'm all about it.
Speaker 2Yes, thank you so much for being here today. Peter, thank you for having me.
Speaker 3I really appreciate it. That was a really nice introduction.
Speaker 1You know what? Only the best for the best.
Speaker 3I didn't know I was the best, but thank you very much. Thank you very much, of course, I appreciate it.
Speaker 1We got to meet you a couple weeks ago at your network launch party at CERN.
Speaker 3Yes, yeah, full disclosure uh, I had already launched the actual network in may 20, may 28th of 2024 okay okay and uh, the actual idea for this and the actual groundwork started in july of 2023, so I've been at this for a couple of years now and now it's like really coming to fruition. So I am about to launch. I think by Wednesday I'm going to be launching reality news.
Speaker 1Oh, wow, yes.
Speaker 3Which is going to be a branch of reality network.
Speaker 2Okay, yeah, so will that also be on Roku Cause?
Speaker 3reality news stuff. I'm going to start up like okay, so I am filming my own TV show right now and that's going to be on reality network, but I'm also going to have to host. You know, I'm just a one-man army, so I get up and I breathe this stuff and I'm going to have to host the news for right now until I get someone else to replace me, which is like I can't do everything, of course. So, um, so there's in the, and the timing couldn't be better because there's a lot of rumors going on right now outside in the social media sphere I don't want to call it social media the Instagram sphere.
Speaker 1Instagram sphere.
Speaker 3Instagram sphere that a lot of people. Well, one person in particular is saying that she never worked at Sir. Now, what is happening right now?
Speaker 1Someone's the news, the news. The news is already starting.
Speaker 3Literally. Yeah, the guy who's designing my website.
Speaker 1Wait, so wait. Are you not saying her name on purpose? Is this a?
Speaker 3I mean, I don't want to say her name, but I could. So Charlie, so Charlie gets on. I know who that is. Yes, so I'm getting a lot of questions about this particular situation, and this is the reason why I didn't want to bring this out right now, because of the fact that I am launching my own news network, which is going to host a lot of this stuff.
Speaker 1You're giving us a little exclusive here.
Speaker 3Yeah, I'm giving an exclusive. He's giving us the tea.
Speaker 2I hope you appreciate it, I really appreciate it. Gemini to Gemini, gemini to Gemini, gemini to Gemini to Gemini.
Speaker 3To Gemini. Gemini is all around. Greatest sign ever, ever, ever.
Speaker 1If you don't think so, then we don't care, we don't care because we already know we want to change our minds.
Speaker 3We should talk about Zodiac signs too.
Speaker 1First, of, all we want to talk about, though, your reality network with Roku.
Speaker 3Tell us a little bit, by the way cheers, cheers. We have to do that. We got to have a little margaritas. What are we cheersing to?
Speaker 1We're cheersing to all of our new ventures and success. There we go. Love that, all the tea.
Speaker 2All the tea and margaritas. You know, we also. How does it feel being behind the camera, Because you've been in front of the camera for so many years?
Speaker 3Ten seasons.
Speaker 2That is insane.
Speaker 1That's a long long time, but now you're stepping into a very different role than just a cast of a reality show.
Speaker 3Yeah, well, I am shooting my own reality show too, so I'm still in front of camera, but I'm also, you know, behind the scenes and running the company, so it's a lot of work. You know behind the scenes and running the company, so it's a lot of work. But you know what? I love it, it's my purpose.
The Reality Network and Projects
Speaker 1It's your purpose, and you know a lot of people love reality television, Myself included. Like I watch reality TV more than I speak to my boyfriend, to be honest. But I love how my idea goes into shooting and editing and building a cast and everything that goes into it. So can you kind of, you know, peel the curtain back a little bit for us and tell us what goes into producing something like that?
Speaker 3To producing something Okay cool. So you have to have first of all concept. That's number one. So with mine, since it's going to come out later on, it's probably going to be out there in the sphere already the name of my, the rules.
Speaker 1I like it Love.
Speaker 2I like it, and do you think that you normally do play outside of the rules? I don't know, because I feel like at least.
Speaker 1Vanderpump Rules your routine is like the responsible one.
Speaker 3You're actually still crazy, do you not get it?
Speaker 1Oh, outside the Vanderpump Rules. She took me on a little journey there.
Speaker 2He's like guys, you, guys, I, it's literally sitting.
Speaker 1I love wordplay so much.
Speaker 2You are going to realize it takes me a minute, do you?
Speaker 3realize that this is going to, and I just follow you wherever you go. This is going to be. Some people are going to be. It's going to be interesting.
Speaker 1Are you going to bring other former cast people? I might yeah, I might, yeah. So what's the overall concept?
Speaker 3So the overall concept is my life behind the scenes. Okay, got it. For instance, the first episode is going to be me bartending guest bartending Because you know it's part of my life is making cocktails.
Speaker 1Right, you didn't make these, though. No, I didn't make yeah, he would be appalled. He would be appalled If a bartender gave this to him and said we're serving this for our customers.
Speaker 3He'd be like you're fired oh no, I'd be like you want me to get back there and make you a proper cocktail.
Speaker 1This is a canned margarita everyone. We're not going to even say the name. I can barely even drink it.
Speaker 2I know, I'm sorry, no offense. It tastes a little like just like a soda.
Speaker 3I have 34 cocktail recipes for a book that I'm making.
Speaker 1Oh yeah, you were just doing. Do you sleep ever?
Speaker 3Yes, I get a good. Last night I went to bed at 10. I got up at 5.
Speaker 1I went to the gym at 6. I even feel in the gym.
Speaker 3I've been seeing you posting your, your workouts.
Speaker 2Get him a wrestling ring and you seem to like balance out everything for yourself, Right, so it's like what? What advice would you?
Speaker 3give to somebody who is coming here. I'm not Okay. Um, sometimes I feel like I'm underwater, but most of the time I just get it. You know, my whole thing is just have one track mind to get it done.
Speaker 2Yep.
Speaker 3My dating life doesn't is non-existent.
Speaker 1Yeah, that can be hard.
Speaker 3But I'm married to my company.
Speaker 1Of course.
Speaker 3So I have that, and then I also have, you know, my shows that I'm working on. I have another show that I'm looking to get a budget for in Vegas, something I've been working on for 10 years now. Wow, in the original pitch package material for that show, I had short hair, so it was my short hair era.
Speaker 1Short hair era. That was a long time ago. Is that ever going to come back? No, no, no, no.
Speaker 3The short hair era will never come back. And those were two seasons of Vanderpump Rules. That was five and six.
Speaker 1Okay, I have to go back and watch those. What projects? You already have a lot of projects under your belt. I know you have some coming up that you just mentioned, but there's already some that people can go watch on the reality network.
Speaker 3So those are all syndicated shows. Yes, so I got started with a bunch of syndicated shows.
Speaker 1Which of those would you say you're most proud?
Speaker 3of. So Catching Cheaters is really good Gowning Out and Beverly Hills Both of those shows Catching Cheaters and Gowning Out have some of my friends involved in those. That's why they were easy to get. I also have a show that I personally started called. It's a talk show called Serving with Purpose. So it's two of my friends, carolina and Danny. I always told Danny that she is going to be good interviewing people. I always told Dani that she is going to be good interviewing people. I also have a show called Hair Cult, which takes place in a hair salon in Austin Texas.
Speaker 1Okay, that's fun. Yeah, I love the drama that goes on in the hair salon. Yeah, there's a lot of drama on that show All of our personal therapists and the stories I'm sure that they can tell.
Speaker 3Exactly. I have one called the Verge, which is about a bunch of transplants from different places around the country to LA to be in the underground hip hop world.
Speaker 1Love. Are you a hip hop fan?
Speaker 3Occasionally, I don't really listen to a lot of music.
Speaker 1I listen to more books.
Speaker 3When.
Speaker 2I'm working out, I listen to podcasts. What's your dream reality concept that you would want to make, that you maybe you haven't made?
Speaker 1or that, maybe that the world hasn't even seen yet yeah maybe a concept.
Speaker 3So I have an offer, well, uh, so I'm kind of doing them already I mean, yeah, you have your hands in so many different projects already satisfied with you know yeah, I'm pretty satisfied with what's coming up in the future, yes, um especially if I get get Barbara all done, that'll be like an achievement in and of itself. Right, of course, and I have to host it because I'm like well, shit, I guess.
Speaker 1I'm not, yeah, but also it makes sense for you to be hosting something like that. People are going to tune in to see you host that yeah.
Speaker 2And what do you think makes a good reality show in general? I mean obviously show in general, Obviously reality, right, we want to see people living their real lives.
Speaker 1What ingredients go into the perfect reality show?
Speaker 2What is that tea? The milk and the honey to make the good tea for that reality show.
Speaker 3I like it. You know, what's funny is, I don't drink tea.
Speaker 1No.
Speaker 3I drink black coffee.
Speaker 1I don't drink coffee, but she does.
Speaker 3I'm a tea girl. Well, do you put anything in your coffee? I?
Speaker 2do you probably would hate it. It's just a little creamer. It's just a little creamer I don't put sugar just creamer. But yeah, my brother-in-law drinks it black and I I just it, can I?
Speaker 1think people who drink black coffee should be studied. Yeah, it's like.
Speaker 2That's like self-torture you're drinking bitter water.
Speaker 3It tastes so good oh god, that's what it tastes like I go I go in, I go into like earth or zinc and I'm like give me a coffee if you want room for cream no, fill that baby up to the top.
Speaker 1Okay, wait so you told us.
Speaker 2You told us what like makes makes a good reality show. But like what? What could ruin a reality show?
Speaker 3okay. So as far as uh making a good one, I'd say uh, compelling characters, compelling people. Rather, it's not like it's. You don't write something, you have to find. That's. That was why vanderpump rules was so successful is because it was around a bunch of compelling people.
Speaker 1The best cast in reality TV of all time. I feel like it still has not been topped. People try to top that cast. I went back and watched all the seasons recently and it just it is golden. It almost seems too good to be non-scripted. It's very interesting looking back on it?
Speaker 2I never watched it until, to be fair, until the scandal stuff happens, it was all over my screen. And it's like, well, who is this guy? So I did not know what was going on, like people were saying, and I just so then. And then I went to her house when we were doing a brainstorming uh session and she had it on and I was. She was like, yeah, I put this on, I'm re-watching it and I put it on when I'm working.
Speaker 2You know, I have not turned it off I started from season one, just like maybe two months ago, and I'm just going through it now, and so now, I've seen all like not all of them, yet I'm still not caught up. But what? Yeah, the cast is just it's, it's insane but now they're getting a whole new cast.
Speaker 1Well, yeah, sorry, continue and we'll go into that.
Speaker 3But so your question was what makes what makes a?
Speaker 2good reality show and what ruins it Compelling cast. Compelling cast.
Speaker 3And what ruins it is so a compelling cast. I always go back to VPR, so you have to have an interesting person who's leading it, or a group of people. But these group of people, they have to know each other, right? You know what I mean. It has to come off naturally, because you know, let's say you and I go out, what are we going to talk about? Right? Nothing, right, and we're going to be on camera too. Exactly.
Speaker 2You see, going to talk about right, nothing right, and we're going to be on camera too.
Speaker 3Exactly you see what I mean. Exactly. So we, we have to know like and that's the reason why vpr works so well because we had. We had, until we laid something down on camera in 2011, we had known each other since 2008 the relationships had already been built and established. Yeah, right, yeah the relationships, breakups, etc all the drama backlog, all the. So so you can talk about anything.
Speaker 1You see what I mean. Yeah, that makes sense.
Speaker 3So that and so compelling characters are one, are one contribution to a great television, uh, reality television show. And then of course the cast, already kind of knowing each other and being familiar with each other and being able to banter.
Creating Successful Reality TV
Speaker 1So then probably what ruins it is just having the opposite, like if you do put a bunch of random people in a show.
Speaker 3Random people, yeah, no, and do the drama Right. They won't even know where to begin All right.
Speaker 1Well, listen, you know Vanderpump Rules. We got to talk a little bit. You still work at. Sir, is it comfort or chaos that keeps you there?
Speaker 3You're the last standing member, right? Yeah, it's not comfort or chaos.
Speaker 2It's just, uh, you know, just enjoyment, yeah, yeah, does it still? Yeah, I was going to say, does it still feel like home to you?
Speaker 3Yeah, yes, yeah, in many ways, but more like today, I'm more of a brand ambassador. Now I go in, I take pictures. I'm not really the manager anymore you know. Yeah, it's a different environment. Last year at this time I was the head honcho. You know, but managing a place for 15 years takes a toll. And as much stuff you have going on right now, I can't imagine you have time to go manage yeah, exactly A restaurant as popular as Sir.
Speaker 1Well, what do you think about this whole new cast situation?
Speaker 3Well, I know the cast.
Speaker 1The new one. Yeah, I know them yeah do you think they are doing a good cast? I mean I, I hope so for their sake.
Speaker 3I hope so right I hope they bring it. I hope that it's a good.
Speaker 1I hope that they choose to fill. It's big, it's huge shoes to fill.
Speaker 3It's not like oh well, we're just going to go in to make this like little show. Are you kidding me? It it's Vanderpump Rules. I know it is one of the biggest, greatest shows in the history of television. It is pop culture history.
Speaker 1It is. They do the Charleston version. I guess, what is it Southern, not Southern Comfort? That's what I want to always call it.
Speaker 2It's the.
Speaker 1Charleston Vanderpump Rules thing Southern.
Speaker 2Hospitality Southern.
Speaker 1Hospitality. I feel like they're trying to be vanderpump rules, but I've seen james kennedy pop there. Like I can tell it's kind of some crossover but no, it could be peter madrigal.
Speaker 3I'm sorry you're gonna have to commit. No one can be peter madrigal madrigal do you are?
Speaker 2are any of the older uh people from Vanderpump rules giving advice to these?
Speaker 3newbies, or are they kind of?
Speaker 2really out of that question.
Speaker 3That I don't think so. I mean, like a lot of them are on another, uh, they're just doing. Yeah, they're doing their own thing at this point, you know whenever people ask me like my opinion, I give it to them, though, cause I'm I'm around.
Speaker 1Oh, around. Oh, of course that's good. You know you want, you want to, you want to help, but also I feel like for me, I wouldn't help that much because I want to see, I want to see people. Uh, I want to see the squirm a little bit we have to squirm.
Speaker 2You know what's okay. So the what's something that fans never.
Speaker 1Oh, he hates that drink that drink, but I love that he's still sipping. He's so dramatic over here. Mr Big Time Hot Shot bartender over here hates my canned margarita.
Speaker 2I worked so hard on pouring this and don't you forget it.
Speaker 3I could make you a margarita that you'd be like, oh my god.
Speaker 1Next time we have you on, it's called the pita rita. Well, I had it at your party. Yes, I had several Peteritas.
Speaker 3Oh, there we go yeah they were actually very good.
Speaker 1It was very good. Yes, it was very, very good.
Speaker 2But what is something that the Vanderpump fans never got to see that you can give us? Maybe no one has seen, I don't know because I've never seen the show.
Speaker 1You've never watched it.
Speaker 3That's amazing, I'm like I don't like him.
Speaker 1That is funny. I'm that way too. I don't like watching myself laughing.
Speaker 3Oh, that's Peter, I'll be walking by at Sir, and we got it playing constantly on the TV behind the bar. I look up and I'm like randomly see me. I'm like, but then you look in and you're like, wait, hold on. What am I talking?
Speaker 1about in that scene yeah, you know, yeah, yeah, I'm just, have you ever been like?
Speaker 3really, what was going on at that point in time in my life, did you?
Speaker 1ever give yourself like kind of an ick? I give give myself an ick when I watch myself back all the time. Oh my gosh.
Speaker 3Especially now that I'm older and looking back on it, I would have done things a little bit differently.
Speaker 2Yeah, are you going to get that chance? Are you going to be in the new season or are you he's saying he doesn't, he's keeping that?
Speaker 1Oh, I was just seeing if we could maybe, like's she's the gotcha journalist over here get it out of you on accident. You know what I mean give him some more alcohol, you're not gonna have any success with that woman okay um, you know we've seen people you know on reality tv for all of these years, uh, who go through drastic transformations, and not only the way they look, but also their personalities. Do you feel like reality tv really does to people's quirk, change them both positively and negatively?
Speaker 3Well, it changed me for a positive change.
Speaker 1Did you so? Tell us how it changed you for a positive.
Speaker 3Well, um, uh, I did it to advance my career and, uh, get my name out there. That's, that's one of the reasons why I did a lot of, why I did 10 seasons. Um, why I did 10 seasons, you know, just to keep my, you know, just advancing my career. That was a positive for me and have opportunities that I have today you know to work with some awesome people and have some awesome relationships and, you know, build an awesome company.
Speaker 1Yeah, and though you know, on the flip side, that we've seen many people who have gone through the rally TV world squander those opportunities and actually potentially ruin parts of their life. We've been seeing all over the Instagram verse, or whatever you call it. Jax Taylor is a good example of someone I'm going to ask are y'all not friends, right?
Speaker 1I've already kindled your friends, your, your, your romance. I think the who says it all. But people like that are the James Kennedy's. It's like how are you given this huge platform, given everything, opportunity to just throw it all away? And you've done the right thing, clearly. I mean, I feel like you are coming out looking as like one of the most successful people who were there that show and you have a good reputation. You got your head on your shoulders, people respect you and that's all you could ever hope for when you think about it.
Speaker 3I've always had my head on my shoulders and you know, everyone always called me the calm and the chaos yeah, absolutely yeah, for sure that's basically always been my role, because I I was always the switzerland, I was always the peacemaker I was always the guy in between the fights, you know, except for when, uh, sandoval punched taylor. Um, that was season two. Okay, yeah, I was like. I remember telling him at his birthday if Tom comes after you, I'm not getting in the way Because I could, because I'm stronger than both of them.
Speaker 2You could hold both of them just by the shirt.
Speaker 1It was always fun for me to watch when you actually hung out with everybody and let loose, because it was kind of a rare thing to see, because you were always kind of.
Speaker 3I always let loose when we were out of town yeah and that's something I always told lisa. At least it's all like you know. Make sure, peter, that, that you don't disrespect the, the the brand, the brand no, the, the restaurant and I'm all like, whatever I do stuff, it's not even in the country okay. If I'm like, if I'm acting a little crazy, I mean sometimes, sometimes it's at like a club or whatever, but I'm never doing that, it's sir yeah, like that's not a thing.
Speaker 1You know you're really clearly you and lisa still have a good relationship. If you're still managing, sir, how often do you do you talk with her?
Speaker 3I just saw her a couple of days ago. Yeah, how would she do it?
Speaker 1I'm such a fan I've ran into, ran into her in West Hollywood one night and I just had to get it she. She was so nice to me and took a picture with me and with Ken.
Speaker 3Oh, she's very gracious, she was great yeah.
Speaker 1How was it like working with her? Oh it was.
Speaker 3it's always been awesome. Yeah, it slash bartender at the time and I hardly knew them and we were expanding into the lounge uh, the lounge where it is today, so where I, where I started, was just the original sir right and then they bought the building next door and created the lounge and I remember uh working because we had lunches at the time. So I remember working a lunch and they were constructing uh the lounge and lisa asked me for some tea, so I brought her her tea right, which is um uh english breakfast with milk, all right.
Speaker 3And then, uh, she I remember her turning to me and saying, peter, you can, you can say hi to me, it's fine. I was like, oh okay, next thing you know, I'm behind the bar mixing some drinks. Ken and Guillermo walk through because they were doing an inspection of the new spot and I say hey, ken, how's it going? He's like what do you want? I'm just saying hi, ken. He seemed like such a delight.
Speaker 1But he was all like, oh, how's it going?
Speaker 3Hello, I don't need anything from you. Yes, exactly, that's the first thing I thought, that, and I'll never forget that.
Speaker 1That's the first thing I thought that he thought yeah, what does this guy want?
Speaker 2yeah, of course, of course.
Speaker 3I was like I'm just saying hi ken, you know and ever since then we have we've had a good relationship yeah, no, I, I think lisa, really she.
Speaker 2She's a boss lady with compassion, which is hard to come by, you know, like that's the, she has the best of both personalities.
Speaker 1It's really awesome she spent so much time giving so much advice to these young kids, trying, you know, get them back in the state, and you know saw a lot of times it was thrown back in her face. So it is nice to know that you still have a great relationship with her.
Speaker 2I'm sure she really appreciates and really appreciate and she knows who can, uh, play hard and work hard.
Speaker 1It's pretty obvious, and you're obviously one of those people I could play hard and work hard exactly. Lisa plays hard exactly.
Speaker 2She was a little yeah you know and you find out real quick who can't lisa has some fun.
Speaker 1She should I remember.
Speaker 3I remember because I like to take dry months. So I remember there's a picture on my twitter of me carrying lisa around. You can go to like. If you go to my twitter, you'll see that picture. It's my avatar right and um that I had ended my sobriety.
Speaker 1That not sobriety, but my dry month because I like to do dry two a year.
Speaker 3So yeah, so this was in uh february of last year. All right, 2024 and um. Before I took that picture, she, uh ken ken was all like oh, you know, do you want to have a shot with me? I was like ken I'm dry right now, he's like. So he goes and tells lisa, lisa's like, come here, do a shot bad influence I'm dry this month.
Speaker 2She's like I will take a shot if you take a shot you can't say no, you got it, you got it, you got it, you got it.
Speaker 3So I go get a two I get two shots of tequila, I give her one. I remember looking at the island.
Speaker 1Let's go. That's amazing. How has she been? Have you gotten advice? I mean, she's a queen of reality tv in a lot of ways. Have you gone to her at all with advice?
Speaker 3I haven't. She's busy, so I'm just like you know, I know what to do, of course, of course.
Speaker 1Well, it's that time of the game, time of the show we like to play.
Speaker 3Don't tell me we have to chug this no.
Speaker 1It's up to you actually. It is now time for Sip or Spill. So, basically, we're going to ask you some questions you can answer If you don't want to answer you've got to take a nice big gulp of that. And again, there is a refill behind you.
Speaker 2Is that it? That's it. Don't show it because they don't sponsor us. They don't sponsor us. No free sponsors.
Speaker 1We can pour a little bit more in there, so what?
Speaker 3if I sip this entire thing, that'll make it very boring.
Speaker 1These questions are pretty tame, so you probably won't even want it. You'll probably sip just for fun. Anyway, we're going to kick things off, sip or spill, take it away.
Speaker 2Best restaurant in LA that's not owned by Lisa Vanderbilt.
Speaker 1I'm going to sip to that because cheers. She has a lot. She has a lot, so I don't know. You can't be promoting other restaurants on here, can you, all right, give us a wildest encounter with a fan. You said you had a song. Well, that I'm not going to give you Okay, we won't talk about that. We won't talk about that.
Speaker 2I don't want to talk about mine either. She stopped real quick.
Speaker 3Oh no, I blocked on all social media Same. Yeah, I mean, I've had really good encounters with a fan, that's good, with people that watch the show Okay, good, I've had really good encounters, have you?
Speaker 2ever hooked up with a fan that you knew was a fan Sick, I knew that was going to be a sin. Of course I have Come on.
Speaker 1All right. There you go. Okay, who's like the rudest celebrity that has been in a restaurant that you have worked at. The rudest celebrity encounter.
Speaker 3The rudest celebrity encounter. Yeah, you know what I've met Al Pacino there. I met Kobe Bryant there I met Kevin Garnett there.
Speaker 1I haven't had a rude no rude celebrity. I love that.
Speaker 3Dolph Lundgren comes in all the time.
Speaker 1People are nicer these days. I feel like back in the day there's a lot of entitlement, especially in the la world, but I feel like you don't see that as much yeah, I haven't you know, I do think with social media.
Speaker 3Maybe it's because I'm on tv, though maybe it's because I you know yeah, I don't know, I haven't, I haven't. My one of my favorite encounters was, uh, selena gomez okay I didn't like. I barely I kind of knew who she was because I don't pay attention to you know, like the celebrity gossip, and Everyone was freaking out taking her table. Everybody was freaking out. I was like, if you guys can't be professional, I'm going to do it myself. I approached the table. She's like Peter, how's it going that?
Speaker 1was your first time meeting her.
Speaker 3Yes, it's the weirdest.
Speaker 2I know your name, but we haven't properly met. I'm going to introduce myself.
Sip or Spill Game
Speaker 3The worst thing was this was funny they started ordering drinks. I was like are you Holt over 21? And she's like Peter, I'm 24 or something like that.
Speaker 1Oh dude, baby Selena and I was like I don't know.
Speaker 2You look young Jesus.
Speaker 1Well, if you don't want to answer, oh, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no no no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no no no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no. Who do you think? Who do you think From what we saw?
Speaker 2there were a lot of rude people on that show.
Speaker 1Who do?
Speaker 2you think? I think James, james Kennedy is probably the rudest. I'm sorry, maybe not now. I don't know him as a person, but on the show.
Speaker 3Oh, now that I think about it, yeah, I do think that he was. Jax actually was. I don't think he was rude to you. No, was uh great to to customers. Um he uh, we met rude to you specifically, not to the customers yeah, just rude to me.
Speaker 2Who's gonna be rude to me? That's true, he is the boss. It was like it was not just the boss no, have you ever had to fire somebody that you liked?
Speaker 3uh, who did I fire? The only person I've ever fired is like if I like somebody, that means they're doing a good job. That's true, so the other person I fired was James Kennedy. There you go.
Speaker 1Who do you think was the biggest star of Vanderpump?
Speaker 3Biggest star Stassi Schroeder.
Speaker 1Okay, that's great, she's back on Vanderpump Villa. She is Fun Stassi.
Speaker 2Schroeder Okay, that's great, she's back on Vanderpump Villa. She is. What show do you think is total trash.
Speaker 1Like it's a terrible show that's on the air right now. You look and look. I would never do a show like this.
Speaker 3I've already said it, I said it last year and I'll say it again the Valley.
Speaker 1The Valley. Oh, okay, so there's no future of you appearing on the Valley? No, I do watch the show. It's background noise.
Speaker 3I said it last year and I stand by that.
Speaker 2Yeah, I need to finish Vanderpump first.
Speaker 3There were so many articles that were printed out about Peter. Madrigal thinks the Valley is garbage.
Speaker 2Yeah, well, I'm not going to completely disagree with you how many seasons does the Valley have? Two.
Speaker 3I think so.
Speaker 2Okay, okay.
Speaker 1I'm not sure.
Speaker 3Your favorite reality TV show? How many seasons are there?
Speaker 2I think it's probably second or third. Second or third, yeah, I think it's third I don't know he's like I don't know, I don't even watch my own show. What is your favorite reality TV show right now?
Speaker 1Maybe something that you model yours after. That's not yours.
Speaker 2That's not yours.
Speaker 1That is cheating.
Speaker 3Peter, my favorite reality show of all time.
Speaker 1Sure yeah.
Speaker 3All time, all time, hell's Kitchen.
Speaker 1You love to cook and you're doing something with cooking.
Speaker 3I'm doing something with drink making which is similar to Hell's Kitchen. I mean not Hell's Kitchen, but MasterChef. I'm doing is similar to Hell's Kitchen. I mean not Hell's Kitchen but, MasterChef. Okay, yeah, I'm doing something similar to that, yes.
Speaker 1I love that. I'll be into that.
Speaker 3So I am a big fan of Gordon Ramsay.
Speaker 1Me too.
Speaker 3Gordon Ramsay.
Speaker 1Absolutely. I love watching all those cooking shows. Same, I actually went to-.
Speaker 3The greatest season of Hell's Kitchen ever is season eight Season is season eight.

Speaker 1He's hype about this. Oh yeah, Rog, Rog Me.
Speaker 3Chef.
Speaker 2Rog Chef. Oh God it's.
Speaker 3Rog.
Speaker 2Is that well?
Speaker 1what's your successful reality?
Speaker 2villain of all time who is, and even have that show villains. I mean, I've never watched. I've never watched it either. But any television villain like who's the best villain. I guess the villain would like keep coming back to right you know.
Speaker 3Yeah, I don't know I mean who's who's the best villain?
Speaker 1I hate to say his name for the third time, but jack taylor, I think, goes down as one of the best you got voted off quickly yeah, and he's oh, do you have? Do you have any comment on what he's dealing with right now?
Speaker 2Okay, that's another sip, okay.
Speaker 1Last one.
Speaker 3I'd rather sip this.
Speaker 1Last one which castmate, which former castmate, would you never cast in one of your shows?
Speaker 2Oh, no, I think I know the answer.
Speaker 1I think you know the answer.

Final Thoughts and Contact Info
Speaker 1Oh, you wanted to separate it. Oh, I see you wanted to separate it. Yeah, okay, it's so hard these days. We're trying to get our milk and honeys off the ground and we couldn't get milk and honeys.
Speaker 3I'm one of the first people on Instagram.
Speaker 1Kayla Becker was around. It was funny because I was Kayla Braxton for so long in WWE because they give us fake names. So then I had all this following from WWE and then I quit. I'm like I need Kayla.
Speaker 3Becker back. I thought you weren't in ring talent.
Speaker 1I was a broadcaster. Oh, okay, I was the one who did all the talk shows and interviews and stuff.
Speaker 3Oh yeah, so I was in the ring, but not as a fan. I thought you were just a producer. No, no.
Speaker 1I was a yeah, I was the host at all their shows.
Speaker 3Oh, very cool. Yeah, oh cool.
Speaker 1But yeah, so I wanted to you smell what Stone. Cold. Did you grow up watching wrestling?
Speaker 3I grew up in the Attitude Era who did you give a favorite? My favorite was Stone Cold.
Speaker 1Steve Austin. He's just out here in El Segundo he's nearby.

Speaker 1Austin 316 says I just kicked your ass now we need you to shotgun a beer, and we're good to go.
Speaker 3Oh yeah, I can shotgun a beer and then I want to stutter and so next in Peter's Venture in-ring wrestling.
Speaker 2We'll see you in the in-ring.
Speaker 3You know what's hilarious is that I had another company called Celebrity Slots that I started back in 2018. And originally it started off as Peterrific Slots, right. So I had like a bunch of my own sayings on there like uh, peter, like peter, love, right so we had natalie eva marie on there yeah, we had rick flair. On there we had a couple of uh wwe personalities on there.
Speaker 1Yeah, they're great.
Speaker 3We also had food god we had um dennis rodman, who's also in the wwe yeah, I've done some stuff with dennis, yeah d generation xGeneration X.
Speaker 1There you go, see, you know your stuff.
Speaker 3Oh, you have no idea, I don't know current?
Speaker 1Of course, I don't know current.
Speaker 3I don't know what's going on. Attitude Era was where it's at. It was the best. Once they fired Scott Hall, I was kind of out, out no. No, but that's when I you know. So I was done playing football, I was done watching all this. I was like I was just more studying and partying than watching TV Of course. Well, I was also playing a little bit of football in college too, so my time was like now I don't have time because I'm you know working on it.
Speaker 1You don't have time period. Period, that's what you have to say. I don't have time for anything, which is amazing period.
Speaker 2That's the time for anything which is amazing, which we love, which we're all thriving to do. That, okay, let's be honest. But with that being said, all good things must come to an end, including this episode you know what's funny is?
Speaker 3I'm a gabber, so I could have kept on talking but peter sir, survivor, ceo chaos connoisseur. Really appreciate you joining us and master drink taster.
