GET TO WORK
Through honest conversation, personal reflections, and real-world insight, we talk about why starting is the most essential part of the journey and how pushing through those early moments of fear is what leads you to growth, clarity, and eventually, the light on the other side.
This episode is your reminder that the first step doesn’t have to be perfect; it just has to be taken. Keep going. Keep believing. And trust that every step forward carries you closer to the version of yourself you’re meant to become.

unknown:Alright.
SPEAKER_00:Alright. What's good? You alright? You good? No, you good. You good, good. Alright. All right. So listen, family, I know I've been away for some time. Um I know I've been away for um a while. My rest period should have only lasted for a short while, um, for about a month or so. Um, and it's lasted about three months. Um, and that is because I fell into something that I want to discuss with you all. And that is I want to remind you all that it is time for you to start now. Listen, we can't put this thing off any longer. It is time for you to start right now. Whatever it is, whatever your it is, whatever that thing for you is, it is time for you to get started. Um, in this episode, I do want to be your pusher and be your partner. Um, I'm gonna give you three points to recognize the voice, move past fear, and why you must not stop no matter what. And hopefully by the end of this video, we will have started this journey together. So, y'all ready? Let's get started. Number one, it is recognizing the voice of the fire that's burning within you. Family, I do believe y'all know I'm one of energy. I believe in energy. I believe that we are energy, and energy is transformed. And so, uh um, as well as your purpose, I believe, is energy, and so its job is to find you. And it does that through energy. And so the energy has a voice. It's speaking to you, it's calling out to you. Um, sometimes we have a difficult time just recognizing and hearing that voice. Um, but you know, like they say, that thing that keeps you up at night, that thing that won't leave you alone, that thing that will not turn you loose. You know, that's the thing that I believe is the thing that you really should be doing, that you have a burning desire to do. All right. So one day, family, I was I woke up and I recall vividly that um I heard this song, and this song would not leave me alone. It would not leave my spirit. So I started singing it. And all day I went through this entire day. I kept hearing this song, so I kept singing it, and I kept singing it. And then whenever I got home from work that day from the office, I started watching YouTube, which everyone knows that knows me that all I watch is YouTube. Um so but I began watching music videos, and for some reason I couldn't turn the music videos off, and the more I watched, um, that lasted for days, and then days turned into weeks, and weeks turned into now it's been over a month or two. Um, you know, and the more I watched, the more I began to realize that I had this desire, this burning to um not that I wanted to be a superstar or a singer, but I had this desire to express myself. Um not just through music, but you know, through my ways of expression. Um, though music is one, you know, y'all know I love to host, you know, and to talk and doing events and all of these things. Um, it was just this fire that no matter how much I kept trying to go back to work and living my normal day-to-day life, I constantly felt the need to or the desire to express myself through the way I wanted to express myself. So, my encouragement to you is don't ignore that feeling. Learn to lean into it and let it lead you into the right direction to your destiny because I believe your happiness is also attached to your destiny. And now I do want to add that destiny does not always look like money. Okay, destiny that does not always look like money at first. And so you may not always make the money that you want to make or you know, um, reach the people that you want to reach, but don't despise small beginnings. But let me not jump too far ahead, you know, into my points. Um, so that leads me into where I want to leave you is that, you know, when you feel this metaphoric burn that we discuss, um, it's just this passion and this hunger, and it is time for you to start releasing you, but you can't be afraid to release you because there may be so many challenges to release you, which leaves us into point number two. When you begin to lean into um the burning fire that you have or the passion that you have, let's just say that, then the first thing that I believe is going to happen is fear is going to become activated very heavily. Um, why? Because I believe the fear of failure, um, the fear of not being good enough, the fear of um not, you know, not holding up the standard possibly, you know, the fear of retaliation from people, you know, that may not like what you do, or the fear of just not having enough money or enough support, you know, all these things will begin to flood your mind. Um, like for me, it was the very thing that I wanted to do was talk. Okay, I wanted to talk, I wanted to sing, you know. So being born with a speech impediment, you know, I had some, you know, sometimes I had, you know, this huge fear of talking. And it's not small. I'm telling y'all, it's not small. It sometimes used to really grip and cripple my mind, but I had to realize that I was the only one holding me back. Okay. Yes, I may have to work a little harder than some may have had to. Yes, I may have had some challenges that some may not have. But I had to make a decision that I can't look at myself as a charity case, but learn how to train and work and, you know, just do vocal therapy and help me um understand, help me become more understandable, you know, in my speech. Um, and people don't always, you know, see the sensitivity behind your passion. You do. Um, but you have to do whatever it is that you have to do, but you can't allow that fear to become the point to where it will stop you from reaching forward because you will never get there if you don't take that first step. You know, we can have these desires, we can have this hunger, we can have this passion, we can have these dreams all day long. But unless you tap into it and lean into it and go through the process of fear and the process of overcoming, you would never get there if you don't overcome the fear. And so um, you have to do whatever you gotta do to kill it, and no, it's not gonna always die overnight, and sometimes that fear may never leave, but you have to always remember that you are family, you are in control, and that's what I want you to understand today that fear is gonna come, yes, but you are in control, and sometimes control is not always being able to throw a demand around, you know, or demand something or command something from someone. That's not being in control. Sometimes being in control is simply being in control of your emotions, how you respond to fear, how you react to fear, how you reflect to that fear. You are in control and you have the power to start. You just have to start. So do it even if you are scared, do it even if you feel like that you don't have the support that you need. Okay, so leading into our last number, point number three. There is more for you, family, on the other side. Okay, honestly, one reason I believe that a lot of us push off starting or hold off starting is that we don't believe we have the support or the lack of support, or that you may you may actually not have the support. Um, I know we all see the videos, you know, and the reels of success and stories of businesses that start small and tell how friends were there and they couldn't have done it without a team and on and so on and so on and so on. I know for me, I am I am a young man, and so being in Atlanta, no with no family, um, you know, and almost no real support, you know, nothing but a dream, okay. So when I started doing events, it definitely got pricey. Um yeah, it it took some money. Um, and I remember that I would I got this idea, okay? And so I started sending out sponsorship opportunity letters to my friends, um, you know, about you know different things that I were doing, like different events and different, you know, showcases and my you know podcasts and my talk show and you know, just all these things, you know, and just you know, being able to buy stuff for my business to start up. And do you know how many responses I I got? Do you know how many thumbs up I got? Do you know how many non-responses I got? Listen, people will call themselves your friend, um, and they will actually be your friend, and they may actually be your friend, um, but believe it or not, people, when it comes to money, people are just a little different. And I had to learn, um, because I literally almost got discouraged. And this is not a jab at you know, my friends or you know, anyone, um, because the truth is, like I said, I had to learn that when you are an investor, the only reason you invest is because you will benefit or that you will profit from your investment. So we all have what we what well what I call we all have what I call a low budget season, yeah. Um so you do what you can afford. Because what I did not know is that everything I was looking for, there was hundreds of dollars they had on Amazon for hundreds less. You just got to start somewhere. Um, you know, so I began to buy a lot of starter kits. Um, you know, and I began to work with, and I still have work with what I have, you know. So, but if you love what you do and you do what you do like only you can do it, I believe that they will see you. You just have to start and you have to go in and do it. Don't worry about not having enough money, don't worry about not sounding like them, or sounding like this, or sounding like that, or looking like this, or having this set up, or having this sound, having this quality, having this picture, having this background. Baby, all we've got to do is start. There is someone waiting to invest in you, there is someone waiting to sponsor you, but you won't ever get to greater if you become content or if you become scared to start in your now. Don't become distracted by the lack thereof just because your right now does not look like your tomorrow. Your tomorrow is calling. Your tomorrow is calling, but you have to get there, and you would never get there if you don't start. Family, just start and watch it grow. So, family, I'm excited to be on this journey with you. You pray for me, I'll pray for you, and we are gonna watch the world change for us. I love you, and I'm gonna see you in the next one.
