Family, In this episode, I want to challenge the way we think about being "sexy" and what it really means to be attractive. I share some of my own journey with confidence, self-image, and why I've always wanted to be known more for my character than my appearance. Let's talk about the difference between attention and attraction, how our definition of beauty is often shaped by the world around us, and why true attraction begins with the person you're becoming. Family, this conversation isn't about looking good, it's about becoming someone whose heart, peace, and integrity leave a lasting impact.
The Mirror Moment And A Question
SPEAKER_00Family, what's going on? You already know who it is. It's your boy Prince here, and you already know what to do. Come on, bring it in. Come get this hug. How you doing, family? You good? You alright? Alright, so family, listen. This is going to sound a little vain, but I promise you it's not. Um, I was looking in the mirror doing a little self-check, and as I study myself, I realized something. As much as people may find me desirable, good looking, or handsome, um, I've never really felt sexy or thought of myself as someone that's sexy. Yes, I've always found myself attractive, but never sexy. Um, and for a long time I thought feeling sexy and feeling attractive were the same things, you know. But then I started thinking, um, maybe what makes someone sexy and what makes someone attractive are two different things. Maybe there's different energies that they both carry. So, family, let's talk about it. Sit back, relax, and let's take this journey together. Welcome to another episode of Against the All Odds Podcast.
Who Gets To Define Sexy
SPEAKER_00So, my question is um who told us what sexy was? You know, like who decided that one look was sexy and another look was not? Because if you really think about it, what one person finds incredibly attractive, someone else may find um, or they may not even notice it really, you know. Some people love confidence, others love gentleness, some people love muscles, others are attracted to intelligence, you know. Some people think tattoos are attractive, and some people just don't. Some people are more attracted to ambition, others are attracted to simplicity. So, which one is actually sexy? And the answer could be none of them, and the answer could be all of them, because sexiness isn't a universal definition, it's personal, it's shaped by our experiences, culture, upbringing, you know, it's shaped by the relationships we've had, the relationships that hurt us, movies we've watched, music we've listened to, you know, social media and even our own imagination.
Borrowed Standards And Moving Goalposts
SPEAKER_00So sometimes we've spent years trying to become somebody else's definition of attractive without ever asking ourselves if we even agree with that, right? So we've inherited standards that we never created. Um, then we spend years trying to meet those same standards. That can become very exhausting, trust me, I know. So um it's exhausting because the finish line is gonna always keep moving. What society called attractive 10 years ago is not what it calls attractive today. Styles change, body change, trends change, opinions change. So if you build your confidence on something that's constantly changing, your confidence will constantly change as well, family.
Attention Is Cheap Attraction Stays
SPEAKER_00I think somewhere along the way we have confused attention with attraction, and those two things couldn't be more different. Attention is easy to get, attention breach drama, being loud gets attention, money gets attention, luxury, shock, negativity, all that gets attention. Attention simply makes people look, but attraction, attraction makes people stay. There is a huge difference. Some people can walk into a room and turn every head, everyone notices them, everyone watches them, but after five minutes, just five minutes of conversation, there's nothing there. No depth, no kindness, no peace, no consistency, no character. Then someone else can walk into a room, maybe not wearing as expensive clothes, maybe not looking as good, but by the end of the evening, everyone is going to remember them. Why? Because they knew how to make people feel seen, they knew how to carry peace into every conversation. They didn't have to be the loudest person in the room. When you are not trying to impress everybody, family, and you simply become yourself, that is the most attractive thing
Authenticity Beats Trying To Impress
SPEAKER_00you can be. Because attention says, Y'all look at me, but attraction quietly says, Come experience who I am. And y'all know I have this saying that I'm not always meant to be understood, I'm meant to be experienced. Because when you know who you are, I'm not trying to become what you want. I all I can do is present myself as myself. So, what I want to leave you with on today, family, is that don't spend your life trying to become someone who can attract everybody, but become someone who naturally attracts the right people. Anyone can learn how to get attention. But I much rather be remembered for my heart than just my physical appearance. I'd rather someone say there was something different about him than simply say, damn, he looked good. You know, because one speaks to the outside, the other speaks about your soul.
Build Attraction From The Inside Out
SPEAKER_00Family, hear me. Please hear me. It is okay for you to feel sexy, maybe celebrate yourself, dress well, take care of yourself, smile, feel confident. There's absolutely nothing wrong with that, but don't just stop there. Become attractive from the inside out. Let your peace be attractive, your integrity, your compassion, your character is going to become the thing people remember about you the most. Because there is a major difference in being the finest, best looking person in the room and being the most attractive person in that same room. Family, I hope this conversation has encouraged you. The next time you look in the mirror, don't just ask yourself, Do I look good? Ask yourself, do I feel good about the person I have become? Because your greatest attraction will never be your reflection, it will always be your character. Keep growing, keep healing, keep becoming. Family, you've got this. That's all I got for you in this one, family. I'm gonna see you in the next one. Love you. Peace.
