NIght of Champions was Something...
Use Left/Right to seek, Home/End to jump to start or end. Hold shift to jump forward or backward.
Oba Femi vs Jey Uso had the entire internet bracing for interference, and then WWE did the one thing nobody wanted to bet on: they let it be clean. That single choice flips the vibe of Knight of Champions from “just another PLE” into something closer to classic pay-per-view energy, where the match itself is the twist and the finish actually matters. We break down why that opener worked, how Jey’s “main event bubble” credibility helps legitimize Oba, and why this is the kind of win that makes fans want to rewatch.
From there, we get honest about the rest of the card and the bigger WWE booking patterns it exposes. We talk Liv Morgan vs IYO SKY and the frustration of protected outcomes, then shift to Seth Rollins vs Braun Breakker and why repeated losses can derail a future star even when the match has great moments. We also dig into Trick Williams vs Ricky Saints, the confusing tweener presentation, and what Lil Yachty adds or doesn’t add when a wrestler can already talk and connect on his own.
On the women’s side, we spotlight Jade Cargill vs Tiffany Stratton and why Jade’s progress feels real, plus what a Jade Cargill vs Charlotte Flair program could unlock if WWE pushes it the right way. We close with the Sami Zayn vs Cody Rhodes vs Gunther main event, our match-by-match star ratings, and the lingering question: did this show move stories forward or just fill time with action? Subscribe, share the episode with a wrestling friend, and leave a review with your match of the night and your 1 to 5 star ratings.

Four Shows And A Big Weekend
SPEAKER_00Welcome to another episode of the Big Brothers of Destruction podcast. Stugoys to Massacre.
SPEAKER_01And it's your boy, Swag Switch in the Building.
SPEAKER_00And we want to let you guys know why we have not posted much of this week is mainly because we have a crazy weekend of wrestling. If you do not know, we have four count'em, four, count them, four, count them, four pay-per-views. Two PLEs, maybe one pay-per-view to look at this weekend.
SPEAKER_01So that's crazy, but you're right. Two PLEs, one pay-per-view.
SPEAKER_00Actually, I don't know. Knight of Champions, it did more of a it still was a pay-per-view, but it wasn't a PLE.
SPEAKER_01Does that make sense? Listen, I will give Knight of Champions this credit right now. Uh Knight of Champions was a PLE that could have been a pay-per-view, if that makes sense. Which which when I say it out loud, it really shouldn't make sense. But for those who need to know for those who I that need the explanation, you know, uh when it comes to a pay-per-view, right? If you remember, if you was if you grew up during the time of pay-per-views, you know, pay-per-views have that feeling of big match energy, you know, there's things going on, a lot of stuff happening, and it's just like a one continuous show. Like you don't feel like these stop and starts like how you do in PLEs, where really a PLE is a glorified, like uh it's a glorified show.
SPEAKER_00It's a glorified show, yeah. It's basically like Raw and SmackDown, but it's got a title to it, kind of like what AEW does with Winter Is Coming and all that shit. It's very similar to that. Yeah, very similar to that.
SPEAKER_01That's a good comparison. You like that, yeah. You like that? That's that that's almost the perfect comparison to what a PLE feels like to a pay-per-view. And recently, WWE's PLEs have like once upon a time, we were all like, nah, I refuse to call these PLEs. But now, nah, nah, this is the PLE. What AEW puts on, those are pay-per-views.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, yeah. There is a huge difference. But this one for the first time, and I think it's again because they were in Saudi Arabia, uh, this was actually a pay-per-view. Now, granted, they've had other events, you know, like Knight of Champions last year, and you know, we also had uh the Royal Rumble, which that kind of still was a P.O. le, but it had the Royal Rumble, which feels like a pay-per-view itself, because the Royal Rumble itself is such a glorified match. The only thing you can fuck up in a pay in a Royal Rumble is who wins. That's it. Otherwise, you're there for the ride.
Pay-Per-View Energy Vs PLE Vibes
SPEAKER_00But today, again, we are here for Knight of Champions, which we had a very interesting card to look at. Uh, first and foremost, first match of the night is Oba Femi versus Jey Uso. And boy, I'm telling you, the IWC immediately was telling us, hey, guys, get ready for Jey Uso to win this. Get ready for Jey Uso to be him clean. Brock Lesnar is gonna interfere. All the speculation in the world. And guess what, guys? None of that shit happened. Not gonna lie, they got us.
SPEAKER_01They got us. For the first time ever. Like, for the first time in a very long time. Like, I watched this match, and and I think this is also the reason why, like, when we say it felt like it was a pay-per-view, like a pay-per-view of old, is because there was all these what would have seemed like the most obvious things that they would probably have done for this. And instead, they completely gave us the absolute number one thing we were not thinking. Well, I wouldn't say that we may not have not thought, but it was like the absolute least expected thing for them to do, which was let them both go out there, let them both have a match and give us a clean dub. And because of that, it was actually interesting, it was entertaining. I ain't going like and I like how they made like they kind of did the thing that I think we talked about once before, where it's like the only way to really legitimize Oba Femi is is when you put someone when you put him in a match with a real hold on, what you're waiting.
SPEAKER_00I'm about to say the IWC might tell you otherwise, because you know, they were all saying that Jay Uso is not a good wrestler, and I beg to differ in this match. Jay really made this match good. I mean, Oba Femi is Oba Femi.
SPEAKER_01So it's one of those deals where like with Jay Uso, like, like it or not, Jay Uso is he is a main eventer, all right? Whether if we truly believe he is or he should be main event jobber.
SPEAKER_00Well, uh the only reason why I say that is because he does it, he has he has the ability to pull the crowd, but in certain matches, you're still not picking Jay. Like Cody versus Jay Uso. You're not picking Cody, you're not picking Jay. But you're originally not gonna pick Jay. Like you know, like Jay. Giving a final example, Jay is not a Kane, but he's like a little bit lower of a Kane.
SPEAKER_01Does that make sense? I mean, that's fair. I would what I guess the main thing I'm saying is like Jay, whether how we think or feel about him, WWE puts Jay in a main event position. Yes. All right, and so having someone in a main event position go up against someone like Oba Femi, it helps legitimize him a little bit more, you know what I'm saying?
SPEAKER_00Elevates the talent, yeah.
SPEAKER_01Because like Brock Lesnar is an anomaly, all right? So because he's an anomaly, when him and Brock Lesnar face each other, it's like, you know, it's it's it's a different caliber of a situation. But then when you put him in a match with a normal individual, but a normal individual who is in that upper echelon, then you can get away with certain things like how they was able to with this match.
SPEAKER_00Like Jay was hey guys, if you're liking the content so far, go ahead and leave us a like. And if anything, leave us a comment in the comment section as well.
SPEAKER_01Also, don't forget to subscribe because it helps us out, puts us in the algorithm, gets more eyes on the content. We can come up with better things.
SPEAKER_00Absolutely. Appreciate you so much for watching the video. Now back to the video.
SPEAKER_01Doing damage to Oma Fitney. You know what I'm saying? Like Jay was actually pressing him to a certain degree. And it's like, anybody else that you put in that, it wouldn't make sense. But because Jay is in that upper echelon of talent, it's because he's in that main event bubble, it it helps make it more sense and it helps slowly but surely kind of humanize Oba Femi because he's not losing to what would be considered a scrub if he was to lose. He's losing to somebody who is in that main event bubble and has that clout and that power behind them and that crowd push behind them to do the wrestling thing and make it seem like they could possibly overcome such a pun intended mountain of a man.
SPEAKER_00I personally would say, and this is I might get really I might get a little bit of pushback, I will say that was match of the night. Really? I will say that was match of the night. It was the only match that made me feel something because while I was curious of what the story was, because there was again so much speculation on if Brock was gonna interfere, if he was gonna win clean, and there were certain moments where I'm like, oh shit, he might actually win clean. And you're like, oh shit, fall of you know, fall of grace, this is when Brock, no, and it's just like it's the only match that made me go. Because like you're just waiting for it, but it doesn't happen. He wins clean, and you're like, oh shit, they actually fucking did it. So it it was the only match that I wouldn't say I cared about, but I I I got hype for it because you see oba comes out to the ring. I don't know if you saw that one video of his actual frame hitting the light and it it covers the entire arena. That shit is dope. Um but there's literally a video of that, it's like his shadow over the crowd and everything. And you just see obviously oba's presence and everything in this match. And I'm thinking, man, oba should be dominating Jey Uso immediately, right? And at least dominating to a point where Jey Uso gets a comeback. That's what I that's what I thought. But coming out of the gate, you know, he tries to hit his finish, he reverses it, and he does the actual sit-down, which I liked. I like that added piece because it doesn't feel like it was transitional. It felt like he actually thought he had it, he was going for it, and he sits like the fuck and he gets kicked in the back of the head. So it was like he knew it was coming, like the finish was coming, but he reversed it. I love that element in the match. I loved how Jay had to, he had to really pull a lot of things out of the arsenal, multiple uh splashes, you know, trying to attack from outside the ring. He almost pulled a little bit of Roman Reigns in there, but overall, the tactics that he had in this match was really great, and I enjoyed that. So I I truly feel like this match was match of the night for me. Definitely match of the night for me. And I will give this much, you know. I I was in another group chat where we were just actually talking about like that was a really good fucking match, like that was a great match. And I had this issue with myself when I first started watching this P.L.E. And I was saying, man, you know what? I haven't watched a PLE. And I want to ask you if you've actually done this recently. I haven't felt the need to watch a PLE in the most recent of years lately. I don't know what it is, but this felt like this is a match I can return to and say, I want to watch this again.
SPEAKER_01As in, like, in the sense of like, you know, with the stuff that happened in the pay-per-view, like, you know, you actually wouldn't mind going back and re-watching type situation.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, I would not, I would not mind re-watching this match. Like, again, you know, me, we're since we're both attitude era kids, I go back to Royal Rumble 2000 and watch that entire pay-per-view without a problem, right? Except maybe one match, but like everything else, flawless. I'll watch that through and through. You know, No Way Out, uh, Backlash with Austin and Rock. Like, I'll watch those pay-per-view games, rock bottom. That was like my childhood, like, whenever I wanted a comfort movie, I would put on rock bottom. Like, that's how much I loved that pay-per-view. And to this match, it felt like that for me. It felt like that nostalgic moment as a kid. I could watch this again and again and again. And like, you know how you'll spot certain spots in the match, and it's like, but it was just, it was a really good, feel-good match for me. I is what I'm trying to say at the interview.
SPEAKER_01No, that's fair. Uh, you know, when you say that, I can easily agree that they're like pay-per-views, PLEs, like, but I also feel it's just the the the current turning of the time for wrestling at this very current moment, which is ass.
SPEAKER_00Well, I but that's the thing. I don't feel that same way with the Ruthless Aggression era. Like, there's not many pay-per-views that I will go back and watch, like, as much as I would with the attitude era. And again, it might be because, you know, a certain point of it I was taken away from wrestling because parental reasons, but uh which is fair.
SPEAKER_01I think um I would say that like right now, yeah, there's there hasn't been any pay-per-view that I would be all like, oh yeah, I want to go back and re-watch this this pay-per-view. Like honestly, that for me, the last time I the la the only I would say the more the most recent pay-per-view that I would want to go back and re-watch would be when Cody finished the story. Oh, you mean ever since then? Yes, yeah, yes. Adventures Endgame WrestleMania Edition. Okay, okay. Like, uh, damn, you just putting your phone all in my face, nigga? Oh, shoot.
SPEAKER_00I realized it was there.
unknownWow.
SPEAKER_00I'm just blocking you out. I'm blocking up the paper.
SPEAKER_01I'm over here giving you my my my heart and soul about my my and you just out here like i cool, just I was trying to pull up the rest of the car, but go ahead. No, but uh, but no, it's like uh like that would probably be the last one I would go back and re-watch, kind of thing. Ever since the you know, Cody, you know, you know, winning, doing the story and all that other stuff, it's like there I don't think there's really another pay-per-view that I was all like, man, this one was so good that yeah, I'd go back and just re-watch this one just just because, kind of thing. Like, there might be like a pay-per-view or two where I may want to actually know. I'm about to lie to you. No, I know they're they're really, and it's because of the fact that, especially with WWE, because I can let me make that a point too. When it comes to WWE right now, they are not putting on great wrestling shows. They're not putting on, they're not putting on like uh like such rememorable matches to make me want to go back and re-watch them. They're not that is it, yeah. And is and then there's the whole issue, like with, you know, and then like the stories are going into some of these matches. They'll have sometimes they'll have like a great story going into a match, and then the match is like like three stars at best. You know what I mean?
SPEAKER_00Like, and and that's another thing we could talk about when it comes to like the rest of the card, because you know, I I don't know if you have any uh additional pieces to add to that first match, because that first match, like I said before, it was it wasn't flawless, but it was damn good. It it was damn good.
SPEAKER_01Uh no, no, it was a good match. It uh there was that surprise because I I uh there was it wasn't so much the surprise of Oba Femi winning, because in my mind I personally felt like Oba Femi gots to win. He he he would have to win, yes. It was like again the matter of but the fact that there was like no interference from anybody, like no bloodline shit, no, no Brock Lesnar, especially after we just had Rowan Reigns being like, oh hey, Jacob, and he you know what to do. Like, we now we have no idea what that was for or what he was whispering.
SPEAKER_00If Jay loses, stomp him out.
SPEAKER_01That would be crazy and fucking fantastic. I'm here for it.
SPEAKER_03Yes, yes, yeah, yeah, chaos.
SPEAKER_01But it's like because of that fact, and like, no, we just got straight. And then, like, uh, and then after as I'm watching, I'm like, oh man, not Oba Femi actually starting to get emotional about the W. Oh, my heart. Yeah, no, yeah.
SPEAKER_00And he held up the crown, and I could see him speaking, and I I could see it wasn't actual English, so he might have been speaking his native tongue and probably, you know, giving praise to a relative who never got the chance to see this moment. So again, kudos to you, Oba Femi, for this moment. I was really hoping he would put the crown on, but a part of me wanting him to do it when he did the uh like just the focus name on the crown.
SPEAKER_01That would have been the coded image, bro. Coded image. Put it on my background, dog, straight up.
SPEAKER_00I'd be low-key. But the thing about is the crown probably wasn't made for his head yet. So, like if it was though, then yeah, it would it would have been smarter. But I also do understand his premise of when he does it, it's him holding the items. Almost like, you know, he you know, when you complete a ritual and you hold the item in your hand. So I kind of can see it as that too. So either way, Oba Femi's character, it can it can do no wrong right now. You know, like he anything he does, it's just we're taking it and it's it's it. And like I said before, he has a rocket on him, damn near fucking five rockets.
SPEAKER_01The last thing I will say, the last thing that I will say about Oba Femi right now is the fact that like WWE is doing a very like strenuous balancing act because they're doing this thing where like there's moments where I'm all like, they're gonna fumble the bag with Oba. They're they're gonna fumble this. This is gonna be stupid. And then they they somehow find a way to find that balance where it's like shit, they're gonna fumble, they're gonna fumble. Nah, we're good. We got we're doing them right. And I'm just like, y'all scaring me. You guys are really.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, they're understanding that balance. I think they are really understanding the balance of like, we can't make him too powerful. We still have to humanize him in some way, shape, or form. Because like, it's like, you know, when you're on that rocket, it's like you know, it's just it's just go.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, that that's that's exactly where they're at with Oba Femi. And I'm like, there's moments where I get scared, and then they kind of like, nah, we got this. We I'm like, okay, okay, okay, okay.
SPEAKER_00Uh like almost like when you get turbulence in a plane, and like, uh turbulence.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, you when you hit that, everything's all right. Yeah, we when you hit that one hard, just and then the guy comes like, yeah, we're having a little bit of turbulence right now, but don't worry. We're just uh passing through a couple of clouds and uh we'll be smooth sailing real soon. Just please keep make sure you keep your seat belts on and uh until that light goes off, uh make sure you remain in your seats. Thank you.
SPEAKER_00But are we safe, Captain? Yes, just trust me, alright?
SPEAKER_01So when we get to the as he says yes, you hit that again.
SPEAKER_00But nah, kudos to Oba Femi, man. You know, I just don't want him being called King Oba. I I kind of prefer the ruler. The ruler made him his own thing. And granted, he did say the ruler is now a king, and I'm like, well, technically that's still a ruler, but you know, hopefully we go with ruler or something like that. I don't want him doing the whole wearing the crown, wearing the the whole king in the ring shit. I don't know.
SPEAKER_01Nah, that they're not gonna they're not gonna do that with him.
SPEAKER_00As much as they love the gimmick, I would listen, Oba Femi with a king gimmick, it he he would have to have well, this is the issue we were talking about before with having like his Nigerian, like don't add too much of that, because then that will that will fuck it up. So he really just needs to, if they show it to him, he'll just kicking the shit out of it. Like they show the podium with the crown and the and he just kicks it and says, I appreciate the honor, but this is not the title I care about. I care about, and he selects his opponent. So if he selects Roman Reigns and he says, I want to be the head of the table, and that would be like, oh, oh, yes, please. Man, I'm sorry, guys. We're we're talking a lot about this first match, but man, there is so much potential when it comes to Oba Fammy, and you're just you're just you can't wait for it. And as a lot of people will say, it could be it could be representation. I feel like it's just for the first time ever. It's a talent that we could all get behind because it's it's in front of there's no reason to fuck it up. If you fuck it up, God knows. WWE, I you might want to start, you might want to turn off the program at that point. Like you cannot fuck this up. If you fuck it up, I think it will take away a large portion of your audience, and AEW will win. Because he definitely will go to AEW and literally be a god. Anyway, God. Um be a god.
Oba Femi Vs Jey Uso Surprise
SPEAKER_00Anyway, uh, next match we have Liv Morgan versus EOSky for the Women's Queen of Ring. And this was a stupid match. I'm I'm sorry, it's very stupid. Um, a couple of things I don't like right now is obviously Liv Morgan and her reign currently is champion. It's very much trouble because like why the fuck are you in this tournament? Yes, technically, if you win, I mean you should go at Rhea Ripley, but like why is it because you're Haven't been doing nothing, so WWE says, Hey, let's put you in the finals of Queen of the Ring, and that's cool. The part that I hate is that you couldn't give EO a quit a clean win. You had to add Dan Hauser into this and curse her. So, like, as a fan, we now can say, Well, she lost because she got cursed.
SPEAKER_02So, like, you're not even really giving EO a clean win. You see what I'm saying?
SPEAKER_00Like, think like if you if you I guess if you want to dive in deeper, like now she's like, Oh, I lost Queen of the Ring. And then if he doesn't uncurse her, oh, I lost the title. And then so like, you know, they take they take the cursing seriously. They when you curse, you cursed. So I just I just worried and I really didn't like the fact that you curse her in the beginning of the match. So it's like, well, now you diminish EO's win to me because she was cursed.
SPEAKER_01I don't uh I I don't think I don't think so too much. Um I can see where you're coming from. Uh but at the same time, I mean, because yes, you take the curse seriously because the curse is real. You saw what happened to uh you saw what happened to the basketball.
SPEAKER_00Hey, New York Knicks was uncurse.
SPEAKER_01Listen, he cursed, he cursed them. They lost two games. And everyone asked and paid him and politely asked, can you uncurse them, please? And he's like, Alright, fine. I removed the curse. They win the championship for the first time in literally literal decades. Yeah. And so there's a reason why Dan Helsing has a plaque being made in his honor by the New York people. All right.
SPEAKER_00Which is crazy to think, bro. Like, as a wrestler, your gimmick is the reason why the a fucking basketball team won a fucking series.
SPEAKER_01At first, it was all like, uh, it's kind of goofy. But then when it happened, it's like, we take this shit seriously.
SPEAKER_00Yo.
SPEAKER_01We are. We're not we're not playing games. Bring that man here.
SPEAKER_00Dan Housen is a made man in New York. He can go in New York anywhere and do anything. The police would be like, it's Dan Housen.
SPEAKER_01Listen, yeah, Dan Housen can go to any borough and be welcome with open arms. He'd go in the hood and he'd be safe, bro.
SPEAKER_00He can go anywhere in New York and he's safe. All right. Listen. He might as well, he better move there and get him a mansion. I'm saying. But anyway, um, going back into this match, I didn't like, I don't like obviously Liv Morgan's song. I don't think anybody likes Liv Morgan's song, but uh I don't know what was going on with EO today. I just didn't, she was she was a little bit overly babyfaced than usual. Like every two seconds was like touching and clapping hands with like giving high fives to the crowd. And I was like, you're in the middle of a fucking match. Why are you why are you spending time with high-fiving kids right now? Like, I understand you're a babyface, but like you just did a move. Capitalized. Oh, but then there was that there was that one spot where it made sense because she had the kids help her up to the apron.
SPEAKER_02Yeah.
SPEAKER_00And then now I was like, okay, that's cool.
SPEAKER_02But like every two seconds was like, I'm like, whoa, okay, a little too much. What's going on, bro?
SPEAKER_01Yeah, she was a little uh she was a little extra hype than usual, you know.
SPEAKER_00But I don't know if this is her first time wrestling in Saudi. No, she's been a Saudi before. Then I don't know. Maybe she's just trying to get that, hey red money.
SPEAKER_01I mean, everybody is. But I mean, this match was just it was it was just a match for me. Like, I I didn't it I didn't read too far into it. Like, for me, I was like, uh, I personally knew that well, I won't say I personally knew, but like in my heart of hearts, I was like, there's no way they're having Liv Morgan win this. And then I will say, when she got cursed, that definitely solidified it even more that, oh, she's definitely not winning this.
SPEAKER_00It was just like uh when we were watching uh if you watched the product uh uh well, I think you didn't match. See, you you weren't there that night, but I don't know if you knew. Uh when I was watching The Establishment that one night, and um the outlaw said, Hey yo, if I don't win this match, I'm I I'm retiring. I'm like, I'm winning it now. Yeah, I'm like, nigga, I know you win it now. Like, come on, bro. So um, but it's just one of those situations as well. I mean, that one thing, and then two, what I I immediately thought of whenever um the end of the match, I said, okay, so EO's not going for Rhea. So we're literally about to get a rubber match. And long and behold, we got the fucking rubber match. Well, technically it's not a rubber match yet, but we got the rematch.
SPEAKER_01Which I'm not mad at that piece either. And it's mostly just because of the fact that, like, story-wise, it makes sense at this point. You know what I'm saying? Like, you know, you beat her here, then yeah, fuck it. I'm gonna go ahead and beat you here and beat beat you going forward, type thing. Um, it now it is funny to me, because because of knowing this, uh Liv Morgan is going to beat um Jade's record of longest reign without defending the title. Cause like as of right, because like as of right now, she's gone almost, she's gone about like 90 days without defending the title one time. She has not defended that title. When did she win it? WrestleMania?
SPEAKER_00Yes. No, I thought she but I thought she won in WrestleMania. Yeah, she did win in WrestleMania. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Yeah, yeah, right.
SPEAKER_01Baker for it. And so it's like, which which where the fuck is she? But she's I think she's currently injured again. Yeah, that's that's what I'm hearing. And it it burnt, it it destroys my soul. But um, I ain't gonna lie, just just just only because I uh brought her it one the the uh just bringing her up real quick. Like uh my girlfriend Lily, she like she she almost fucked me up one time because she was all like, hey, uh it's like hey, have you ever seen this? And it's a video of Stephanie Vacare fighting uh Sasha Banks. Or at that time it was her fighting um uh uh uh Mercedes Monet.
SPEAKER_00And this was like WWE.
SPEAKER_01Correct. And it was like I'm looking at this match, and I'm like at first I'm like, boy, this has to be some AI type shit. They've never been, and I'm looking. No, this was an AW. Oh my god, when the fuck this happened?
SPEAKER_00Yeah, she was there for like a a really, really, really brief moment.
SPEAKER_01It was like back in 2000, uh, 2023. Uh so 2023 was when it was when that match happened. And I but it just and and of course she she lost, Stephanie lost. But it was like, I'm looking at it, I'm like, and it's funny because the other thing about that particular match, when I was looking at it, like, boy, she got thicker when she came to WWE, boy. Like she was like she was great, but like, but like now, but um going back to this match though, like but going back to this match, it's I mean, it is a match, it is a match. It is what it is, you know, like if anything, I think all this all this match, and then what's gonna go forward is this is getting everything set up for the demise of judgment day. And if it's not, then I don't know what the fuck we're doing.
SPEAKER_00I mean, if that's the case, that means Liv is losing to EO, and then Eo and Rhea will both have titles, and then now you got the whole like which ain't the first time this has happened. It's not, and it's not, but I'm just how about this? Unfortunately, I did not care for this match. Because, like, you know how again with wrestling, when you get a card when you get a card, you look at matches and say, I wonder how that's gonna go. And this match was just like, I know how this is gonna go. So, next match. Like, it was keep pushing. Yeah, keep pushing, which going into uh the match, regardless, both ladies were great, you know, doing your thing. It's just unfortunately the story of the match wasn't really there for it. Uh Liv Morgan is great. Uh EOSky, which Michael Cole said in a commentary, EO Sky is one of the best women wrestlers alive.
SPEAKER_02And I was like, All right, Michael Cole. Michael Cole today. Ah boy.
SPEAKER_00He was he was pushing Booker T. He was pushing Booker T.
SPEAKER_01It was like which is crazy. For him to be pushing Booker T for you, because he doesn't do the stuff that Booker T does.
SPEAKER_00I want to say the annoyance. The annoyance.
SPEAKER_01Michael, Michael Cole has kind of sort of been in this weird space where he's just like I'm the old white guy. He's been he's been like a crazy gas pump, you know what I'm saying? Like he's been like unnecessarily gassing people up, you know, like just like making these outrageous claims and all this shit. Like, you know, like and these are unwarranted. Not just unwarranted, but like that's very, very big opinion of you to make say, you know what I'm saying? Like, that's like you're kind of stretching it, buddy. Like, I I get it. WWE is supposed to be the greatest wrestling company in the world, but like pump the brakes, bro.
SPEAKER_02Like, there's other people.
SPEAKER_00But him and talking about him hanging out with Lil Yachty and him listening to Lil Yachty at the gym, and I'm like, he is that guy who was like music.
SPEAKER_01Michael Cole don't listen to no goddamn Lil' Yachty. I highly nah he'd be out here just talking all the way out his ass. That's what he'd be talking about.
SPEAKER_00That's what I'm talking about. That was that was annoying me personally, and that's why when I said, and we go into the next match with Seth Rollins and Braun Breaker, this is when both it was both Corey Graves and Michael
Liv Morgan Vs IYO SKY Debate
SPEAKER_00Cole. I'm like, bro, can y'all just commentate the match and shut the fuck? Because like going into this match, Seth Rollins versus Braun Breaker. Um I liked how they tried to build it. Like when they got into the ring, you know, Seth Girl, all the items, and he did the whole sit down to wait for Braun Breaker. And I was like, oh, this might actually be a banger. I'm I'm feeling the the the the anticipation they're trying to bring that this is not gonna be your Stadia Arc cage match, this is gonna be a dog fight, right? And long and behold, it was an elevated cage match. But the the story I really needed was I needed Bronn to win. Braun has not beaten Seth, period. Every one of these matches, Seth keeps winning, but Seth doesn't need to win. We need to elevate Braun Breaker. If you're supposed to be doing this whole vision shit and making vision, like it literally, vision is cursed. I think Dan Housen cursed vision because like they can't get wins, they keep getting injured, bro. They are cursed. So I'm sitting here really hoping, I'm praying. I'm like, Braun needs a win now. Maybe that's not the story they're trying to tell currently, but bro, Braun can't keep losing. He can't, and it's to the point where in the middle of the match, I don't know if you saw it, it was really good storytelling, but he hits him with the spear. And normally when he he hits people with the spear, it's one and done. And he hits it and he gets up and he's actually doubting himself. Braun Breaker should not be fully doubting himself. He's a Scott Steiner, he's a Steiner, like he he's supposed to be like to me. Maybe I'm over maybe I'm overextending my expectations on Braun, but if if you're supposed to be presenting Braun as this future, right? Originally that's what the vision was all about. The vision is blurry, the vision is it is is blind. There's just no vision for Braun Breaker. And I can see that in this match. Like you can make him look like a million bucks all you want to, but a loss is a fucking loss.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, I I think we lost the plot with Braun. Beyond. And but I also feel it's not his fault that the plot got lost. Well, absolutely not. Because uh it's it's definitely because the vision was cursed. Like everyone in the vision has fallen. The only person in the vision who has not been who has not fallen to the this vision curse is uh is is what's his name?
SPEAKER_00Theory.
SPEAKER_01Goddamn uh Theory.
SPEAKER_00Yep, he's the only one that has been injured.
SPEAKER_01But even then, it's it also though he's not the though he has not been injured, Theory was never supposed to be anything great for the vision anyway, because he was the he was the guy who can get pinned. You know what I'm saying?
SPEAKER_02Mystery nigga.
SPEAKER_01So it's like like right now, the like I'm very curious to see what we're going to do with the vision moving forward. Because like with they lost the titles, Paul has busted his arm, you know, nobody cares about theory and whatnot. Brunson Reed is not back, he's still hurt, and Bron Breaker is I think he's he's he's toning up, he's he's tremming down too.
SPEAKER_00He's yeah, oh yeah.
SPEAKER_01I've seen some photos on him of him like that he's posted. I'm like, oh, I can't wait for that man to come back through. But it's just one of those deals where it's like, even when like if he comes back, like I need him to come back on his own at this point. Just just come back and because he was fine when he was on his own, but like there's no Paul Heyman here anymore. That was like the last thing that made the vision like important, and so it's like and then it's like I don't know what you do with Braun Breaker after this. Like, you can make Braun Breaker like continue chasing after Seth Rollins and beating him up, but it's like Seth Rollins has beaten him time and time and time and time and time again, and so it's like, and this was a cage match, so like, you know, this is like a like this is how this is like what you're supposed to do to end the feud. So like, but it's one of those deals where it's like Seth Rollins came out on top, and I feel like we didn't put Braun Breaker over, and so it's like I guess off to the mid-card scene with him, right?
SPEAKER_02Pretty much.
SPEAKER_00Um so uh kind of keeping that in mind. I mean, overall with the match, I mean, there was a couple of good spots on there. Uh, specifically the table spot that was on top, like coming from off the cage to doing a superplex on the the actual table itself. That was one of the things that I really liked. I like the setup, but like the way Braun landed, it was it was like he just took a solid thud and didn't want to move. And I'm just like man. Uh like when he took the bump, he took the bump and he just he just froze for a second. I'm like, is this selling or you actually just you just took a whole lot of punishment just right there? And uh it is unfortunate, but um it's probably both. It probably a whole lot of that.
SPEAKER_01But there are certain things that that you see that it's all like I'm sure there is selling involved, but I also know that hurt like a bitch.
SPEAKER_00Probably nine times out of ten it did. Nine times out of ten it did, but uh I definitely will say the match was fun, the outcome was not what I wanted. And honest, in an honest take, either either we do something about Braun or he's literally getting I want to say he's getting Ryback, but he he's getting he's he's not getting the good end of the stick. I would say that.
SPEAKER_01Nah, see, yeah, I can't say Ryback, because Ryback was fine. Like, when Ryback was doing his thing, like they boosted him up real, really hard, but then unlike with what they're doing with Braun Breaker, they actually kept Ryback up here. You know what I'm saying? They kept him strong, they kept him in the top spot, and um, and they and they didn't do a whole lot of beating him, you know what I'm saying? So it was like, because so like Ryback, like Ryback, he was he he himself was also a main event jobber. You know what I'm saying? He would lose, he would always lose the big one, but he won all the other ones that kept him relevant and kept him good, you know what I'm saying? Like he so he was he was in a good space kind of deal, and he was and he rode that he was he stayed in that main event bubble. But to me, right now, this match kicked him out. We braunbreaker is not a main event player anymore. He's out of the main event bubble, in my opinion. He's donezo.
SPEAKER_02Absolutely.
SPEAKER_00Ariba Dirce, if I may. Ariba Durchi is crazy. Sayonata, which is uh a better Japanese term, is basically yeah, goodbye forever, pretty much, because that shit. I don't know. Um yeah, so when it comes to that match, it was okay. Um I just don't know where we're gonna go with Braun from here, bro. Like at one point he was supposed to have the champion. It's crazy how they put a rocket on Oba Femi, but didn't put one on Braun. And I and I don't know if again, if it's Braun because he was accidentally just like, yo, I want to be in this vision shit, or like whatever, but it's just like again, the vision was just it just fucked people, and it just fucked up.
SPEAKER_01The vision was a the vision is a failed project. It was supposed to elevate and send these guys to the moon, and it failed. They tried to fix it by throwing some star power in there like Logan Paul, and it continued to fail. And then we throw in Austin Theory for some reason, and it flops even harder. Or actually, I like to me, I like I said, I feel Austin Theory was thrown in there to make it look like we was making the vision better, but he was mostly there to make sure that we don't pin our top stars. But what ended up happening was all of our top stars got injured, it ended up vanishing. And so now all we had was him and Logan Paul, and Logan Paul is still technically losing these matches, whether or not he's getting pinned or not. And so it's like when you just keep letting Homie get pinned and lose and lose and lose and lose, that's still L's for the vision. And so it's like it literally like every loss just ticked them further and further and further out of that main event bubble. And now they're out, they're out.
SPEAKER_00So like can't can't really, unfortunately.
SPEAKER_01Send them to AAA or something to do something or whatever.
SPEAKER_00Bro, don't tell me you're gonna send them to evolve, bro. That's crazy, bro.
SPEAKER_02I mean, hopefully they will evolve.
SPEAKER_00Anyway, anyway, uh going on to this next match. We got we got
Seth Rollins Vs Braun Breakker Fallout
SPEAKER_00Tricky, Trick Willie, okay, and uh Ricky Saints, which man, Ricky Saints actually has been showing the fuck up. He is too. Still the tornado, the revolution DDT is what they are, which is what Michael Cole called it.
SPEAKER_01Is the revolution. That's what it's called. It is it is supposed to be the revolution DDT. So I'm I'm a bit at a loss.
SPEAKER_02I'll admit.
SPEAKER_01I have not watched any SmackDown for the last month and a half. Okay. Being honest. But like, when it comes to what we're doing with Trick Williams and and well, just Trick Williams, honestly. Like, I don't I don't really care what what we're doing with what's his name, but at the same time, he does have to do what he does right now to give himself some kind of credit. Because when they brought him in, like, there was no like yay or nay with him coming from NXT. So it was all like, Hey, uh, we're just gonna throw you into the mix and uh sink or swim. So he's in. This weird sink or swim area, but it's like what but going back to the main thing that I'm talking about with with Trick Williams, it's like I'm very confused, only a little bit confused, with where we're trying to go with Trick. Cause it's like is he good? Like, is he a good guy?
SPEAKER_02Yeah, yeah, that was confusing as shit too.
SPEAKER_01Cause like I get the idea of him being a possible tweener, but like this, like I he's I'm very lost at where we're going with Trick. Now, unless they're trying to do that weird, like, hey, we're making him good, we're just not going to like completely uh we're not going to just say that he's good. And I and I feel like they're trying to do the the rock situation where like people booed the rock at first, but then as time went on, people started cheering the rock, and the rock never changed what he was doing, per se. He was charismatic. Outside of he does not uh he does not you know talk shit about the audience as much anymore. So it's like I've noticed that piece. Like, you know, he'll come out there and he, you know, his lemon pepper steppas and this then the other, and he'll so he'll do his little song and dance. But right now, I think, but right now he doesn't address the audience. So he'll say his shtick, but he doesn't say, you know, yeah, but boo this city, you know, your basketball team sucks. He's not doing that part, he's just doing him, which is okay. But I'm just like, you know, when when they attached Lil Yachty to him, you know, Lil Yachty was kind of kind of came off as like, okay, so he's like, this is his heel situation running around with Lil Yachty. However, I'm also confused about the little, like, how long are we running with Lil Yachty right now? Like, because like WrestleMania's been a man ago now.
SPEAKER_00Look, look, apparently, because Lil Yachty is gonna be doing a match at some point, he's trying to get he's trying to get the same rub as Logan Paul did, right? And Logan Paul was hanging out with the Miz all the time. He started hanging out, saying, hanging out, started being out there all the time, and then he had that WrestleMania match. And then he actually was like, Yeah, I want another match. And then another match. And then he ended becoming a full-timer. I don't think little Yachty is becoming a full-timer, but I think he's trying to get enough acceptance from the WWE universe by showing up every week because then it changes the perspective of is he just another um celebrity coming in for a small time frame and then leaving, or is he actually one of us, right? And that is something that the IWC is constantly getting on little Yachty about is is he actually about this shit or is he just a celebrity? And I feel like after he made that post of like, yo guys, like please don't get on me. I'm just a guy who's trying to chase his dream. This is a dream of mine, this is a thing of mine, and you you you would have did it if you if you had the opportunity, which again, every fan, if we ever have an opportunity to be in the WWE ring, whether if it's for a comedy skit or whatever, you're taking that moment because you're you are now you are now engraved in WWE history, just like that one kid who won at Mania with Braun Strowman. He's a meme now. He's he's a legend. We don't know what the fuck he is, but he's still a he has some kind of uh uh uh a history in WWE now, especially him being a champion. Okay, so I feel like that's currently little yachty's issue and the reason why he's coming out every week, but like he's just a valet, he he's just a guy who you know, which is weird because like Trick Williams can speak for himself. Why are we using you know Lil' Yachty like as if he's Paul Heyman? Like, it's not how this works.
SPEAKER_01Which that's the part that has me kind of like, uh, because I mean Lil Yachty is fine, like, granted, with the thing that you was talking about, Lil Yachty should have never done that, because if he's as true of a fan as he as he says he is, he should know the process. He is so the fact that he had to go out and be like, hey, I'm just trying to do dah dah dah, it's like, no, no, shut up. Don't shut up, just just do it. If you just do it, it's gonna come as it's gonna come naturally, and then eventually they're gonna stop being like, oh, okay, maybe, maybe he is, okay, maybe he is, and we can let him in. We can let him in, you know, but but but I mean, granted, he's he's sh I think he's well on his way in that particular perspective. But it's like, yes, Trick Williams does not need Lil Yachty, especially since, and this is probably just me, but like, it's not like Lil' Yachty's popping.
SPEAKER_02You know what I'm saying?
SPEAKER_01Like, it's not uh I mean like it's it's not like he's really got a bunch of tracks on the radio right now. So if anything, Trick Williams is putting Lil Yachty on, not Lil' Yachty putting on Trick Williams. So it's just like, but outside of that, the match cool.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, like I mean, I mean, granted, like I will say I liked a lot of Ricky Saints' strategy. He had a little bit of like Latino heat moment, I guess, is what Michael Cole said, where he made Lil' Yachty sound like he hit him with a kendo stick and stuff like that. And um, I was like, okay, I like this, and basically worked in his favor. And I thought maybe this is a thing that would throw off Trick and make him lose. Because as we're going more into the match, you just see Ricky Saints is not dominating, but he's being strategic. And he kind of has a very high intellect way of wrestling in this match, and I liked it. I liked the way, you know, he was trying to wear body parts, he was trying to tell the story of frustration because hey, he can possibly beat Trick Williams. Because I think I think the story they were trying to tell was that Trick Williams hasn't beat Ricky Saints yet. And yeah, which this was the moment he finally beat him, but like I feel like you could have told a bigger story of that then. Because like, I don't I've been watching SmackDown and I never seen them call back to it. Like, you've never beat me. Like, just doing something like that. I feel like that they they missed an opportunity there and only have commentary say something about it. That's one thing. But um I I started watching this, and remember how I was talking about in that first match where it made me like, uh I started feeling that way in this match, and a part of me actually was like, Yeah, no, make Ricky win. I I kind of want to see what happens. I would like to see what happens with Ricky in the belt right now because not saying that Trick isn't elevating the title, it's just like Trick doesn't need it.
SPEAKER_02Correct. He doesn't need it.
SPEAKER_01I agree, definitely agree.
SPEAKER_02Yeah.
SPEAKER_01Um, and and I think for and I know for me, like, I've never been super sold on Mr. Uh Um Ricky. Um, he's a cool dude. I've met him. I l I literally met him at an airport. Like, we shared the same flight, and so he's he's cool people, but it's like as far as like with where he's at in the company, like I've never been super sold on him. I was never really big on the fact of him weighing the NXT belt from Oba Femi of all motherfuckers. But but but I will say he is he's doing this thing where which I'm like he needed to. He's he's in this space where he's literally just trying, he's trying to prove himself and prove his worth, and prove the fact that he's where he should be and he needs to be.
SPEAKER_00Personally, yeah, I agree.
SPEAKER_01Which I'm like, I think he's doing it. Granted, yeah, it definitely would have done him well if he would have stole this belt from him, but he'll be next time.
SPEAKER_00You know, hit with the music, but uh yeah, no, I mean, like I said before, the match was pretty good. I don't really have any uh I don't really have anything bad to say outside of just I would have preferred Ricky to win. You know, um I wouldn't say I predicted Trick Williams winning. A part of me said, yeah, probably Trick is winning, but uh Trick Williams really wants to, he he really wants to um I want to say resemble, let's say pay homage to Booker T. And the only way I can say that is because if you look if you really look at Booker T's career, WCW, like it's it's very similar to once he got away from Harlem Heat, this is what Booker T became. He started becoming very more charismatic, he got the US title, you know, and he kind of been going down this same trajectory, and Michael Cole and everybody keeps constantly bringing up the resemblance of Booker T. And it's like, yeah, you have that, but he has the rocks charisma charisma. He has the ability to catch the audience like The Rock. And while Booker T is charismatic, he wasn't the rock, he was very compared to the rock. So it's like it's interesting to say you put Booker T and The Rock in almost one person, and you got Trick Williams.
SPEAKER_02I can see it.
SPEAKER_01Um, I can see that. Like, I I which is not a bad space to be.
SPEAKER_00So no, not at all. It's just a matter of when is WWE gonna push pull the trigger. And we have Oba Femi, we have Trick, and we have Javon Evans. A part of me feels like this is you know how when WWE had the class of uh of O3 with O'Vale Championship Wrestling, which was um Randy Orton, Brock, and John Cena. That is that is that same feel when it comes to Oba, Trick, and Javon. And honestly, if you want to be even more funnier, looks like an evolution of Pokemon, if you think about it.
SPEAKER_01Javon's the starter, Trick is the secondary, and Oba Phoebe. The amount of times I hear and see that this comment, bro, like it's it's dreadheaded niggas, I swear, right?
SPEAKER_00It's not even that, it's the it has nothing to do about the dread, it's more of the body frame. I'm thinking more of the frame.
SPEAKER_02I guess so.
SPEAKER_00You know what I'm saying? But I can see what you're talking about with that. I I wasn't thinking of that. Maybe it's because I'm not stereotyping, I'm more so just seeing the the the differences in between, you know, and especially looking at how Pokemon is, because you know, we'll have been nervous. But that's fair. Um overall, like I said before, not a bad match. Um preferred Ricky Saints winning. But uh next up,
Trick Williams Plus Lil Yachty Talk
SPEAKER_00before we get to the uh main event, we have Jade Cargill versus Tiffy Stratton or Tiffany Stratton. And I was actually quite surprised with the level of I won't say story, but they had a lot of people in this match that I didn't expect to be in this match because you know they're in Saudi. But uh they treated it this match as if you were in the States and everybody shows up and everybody's involved.
SPEAKER_01I think when it came to this match, number one, uh this is probably I think, well, to me, I think this is easily one of like Jade's like like in her top best matches she's had such thus far. Oh yeah, this is a good match, yeah. Like the the match was solid. Granted, because of the fact that I have not been watching SmackDown, I was not fully invested in the match until my queen showed up. But like a peacock outfit, yeah. It's like with the peac, not a peacock, was it really? It's like a peacock almost. I mean, not not the colors.
unknownPeacock.
SPEAKER_01But you know what?
SPEAKER_00Because it does need to be multiple colors. I just kind of looking at the circles and the swirls, it kind of made me think of a peacock.
SPEAKER_01No, listen, as someone who lives in a neighborhood full of them, I wish peacocks were that color. But uh, but yeah, no, like overall, for me, that whole match, it was to me, it was a solid match, and I'm glad because like I didn't give a fuck about Tiffany Stratton in this match, right? But it's like I do like the fact that we're we're trying to set up and create this thing between Charlotte Flair and um Jay Cargo and Jade.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, that's that's definitely the feud coming in.
SPEAKER_01It's a thing that's been a long time coming, and I'm glad we're pushing it more, and we're setting it up probably for well, it's too early for SummerSlam, but like we're we're getting we're ramping up for it, and I'm cool with that.
SPEAKER_00I see where you're coming from, brother. I just feel like this would have been a great match for 2000. When was it when she faced uh Rhea Ripley for the title in that one WrestleMania where it was during COVID? I think it was in 2020, right? Or 2021.
SPEAKER_01Somewhere in there, yeah.
SPEAKER_00I feel like that version of Charlotte would have been perfect for this. Not saying that Charlotte can't go, but like Charlotte's character for me isn't like, you know how she was the queen. She is still the queen, but like, what's the best way to put it? Like, she's been kind of chilling lately. You know what I'm saying?
SPEAKER_01So I I know what you mean because that that that particular time frame of Charlotte was Charlotte when she was in her bag. She was bad girl, and she was bad girl, she was the greatest, she was the best, and she knew it, and no one could tell her otherwise. Yes, yes. Charlotte right now, she is she's kind of sort of in this um she's in this area, not even goddess mode. Like, like she's uh I don't know why this comparison came up, but it's like uh she is Kane before he before he took the mask off. You know what I'm saying? Like he was having fun, you know, he was he was not being he still had um when him and when him and RV yeah, when him and RBD were friends and stuff like that, and you know, he's cracking more jokes, he's not as serious, he's not he's not taking things as serious as he would. And that's where Charlotte's at. She's not like she's not super, she's not super serious right now.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. Which I'm wondering what potentially could bring her back to that element, because I feel like the Charlotte in her bag would be a better opponent for Jay Cargill because she's gonna bring the best out of her in in that moment. So if we could just get that Charlotte maybe just for that match, I mean, we don't have to get her the whole time, but I just need I want that Charlotte that would do the moonsault outside to the ring. But I know, you know, you know, knees alone, she might not be able to do that anymore. Um, because she got that brace now, so I'm not too sure she could still, you know, go out there and do that backflip anymore. But um I would like that version of Charlotte to be in that match.
SPEAKER_01I mean, that's fair. And I mean, who knows? Because like, with the way how long this is going to be, they're gonna have a couple of matches. So it's very possible that Jade might end up taking her there to that point, kind of thing. Because it's like Charlotte was there, and she it Charlotte was there, and then when her and Alexa Bliss became friends, you know, she Alexa Bliss kind of is like, hey, shut the fuck out. Have some fun. And now Charlotte is, you know, she is she is in her enjoying life mode kind of thing.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, doing skits with Mannhauser and shit. Like, yeah, she's she's doing shit.
SPEAKER_01And so like she's she's she's having fun. And so, but I do I I get where you're coming from, and I I can agree, but I also think she'll be okay. But also knowing what the way that Jade's going to be, I think Jade's gonna like for when they really have their match, because you know the first match is gonna be a bullshit match, and so it's like when they have like that real match and like Jade fucking pushes her to that point, I think it'll be just fine. We we'll we'll get what we want.
SPEAKER_00Do you feel like her wrestling her would maybe elevate her in a way? And I feel like not just like in like star status, but like you know how sometimes some people will get in the ring with somebody and they'll tell stories about like ever since that match, like I I'm a little bit different. I'm a little bit different in the ring, and that's what I was hoping.
SPEAKER_01Like Jade gonna if Jade finally hits that second gear type situation.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, like when she finally stops looking green and then she looks like a million bucks, kind of like with Roman Reigns, you know, whenever he was suffering succotash, and then he comes back and he says, yo, arrive, spare people, and then he just shifts gear and he just ran with it.
SPEAKER_01So, like, see, the only reason why it's hard for me to say that because I think it could, but because of the fact that Charlotte doesn't have like any titles right now, and they're just fighting because they don't like each other. I don't know, I don't know if it's gonna have that strong enough ability to do so.
SPEAKER_00Well, no, no, I'm not talking about like elevating her as a uh a star in a sense, but like what I'm saying is, you know, when you get in the ring with somebody, you start wrestling with somebody like okay, perfect example, Billy Gunn. He was talking about him wrestling Eddie and you having confidence in your opponent and how you guys are working with each other in the ring. And Billy Gunn's talked about a moment where he has Eddie Guerrero in a military press and he says, let go of your left hand. He says, I'm not gonna do that. Let go of your left hand, and he does it, and he just does something where now he's holding Eddie Guerrero with one fucking hand in the air, and he just tosses him. So he made Billy like a million bucks, but it's just like maybe Jade is not super confident in the communication in the ring and the in the ring psychology, but then being in the ring with Charlotte, it's now she can tell her, like, okay, when we're in the match, yo, yo, kid, chill the fuck out. Like, you know, you can do this, do that. Like, you know how just being in the ring and then getting the the ring psychology from your opponent who's been in there for a while.
SPEAKER_01But okay, so now as far as that goes, that's what I'm hoping.
SPEAKER_02I don't know.
SPEAKER_01I don't know if Charlotte has that for Jade. She might. But like, like for me, it's one of those things like Jade versus Charlotte for me is Jade should have that by the time she's facing up against Charlotte type thing.
SPEAKER_02Like she should.
SPEAKER_01I feel as if with what you're talking about, and especially with kind of sort of how I've seen Jade moving since WrestleMania, I feel as if that that is what she should have had with Rhea Ripley. Now, since she's fought Rhea Ripley at WrestleMania, Jade has not been as green feeling to me with what I've seen of her, kind of thing. Like with this match tonight, she looked good. You know what I mean?
SPEAKER_00Like and and maybe, maybe because, you know, while her going against Rhea Ripley, those were good matches. Maybe it's because with working with Rhea, she didn't hitch second gear. She the gear started turning. The gear started turning. Which that could be true. Yeah.
SPEAKER_01But I also believe that that also has a lot to do with um what what do you call that? Um uh uh the for lack of the better term, uh, it it has a lot to do with the synergy in the ring. Jade Cargill, to me, um, she did to me, I feel as if she still hasn't quite figured out who the fuck she is in the ring. You know what I'm saying? Because like she's in this weird space where she wants to be a powerhouse, like she wants to be a powerhouse giant in the ring, and she flip-flops between the two because she's a bigger woman and she's muscularly there, you know, as far as her physique. And she's got a little, you know, she's tall compared to a lot of the girls in the ring, but like she's she's she's not she she she she should not play the role of big man in the ring, even though sometimes she tries to. And it's like when she tries to, I feel as if that's shouldn't that's not her lane.
SPEAKER_00Well, no, I feel like she's not. Trying to be big man, she's being a powerhouse. Like her character is supposed to be a powerhouse.
SPEAKER_01Yes. But it's like though powerhouse, she oftentimes tries to put herself in this, like, you know, hard to knock me down area and stuff like that.
SPEAKER_00Oh, like how like you know, you like your giants and stuff like that.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, yeah. Like she's like she's she's trying to play, she's trying to. I feel as if she has not locked in still on what she is yet. There's a part of me that feels like she hasn't locked that in. I feel like she's she's finally getting close to figuring that out, which is why her matches are better. Like she's still like torn in between the two of what she really wants to be. And I and and maybe when she goes up against Charlotte, maybe she'll finally lock in on that one with the way that their fighting styles are, because like going up against Charlotte, it's like most of the people who Charlotte faces that she has good matches with are people who already have a nice long history of good matches. Okay. Okay. Outside of the match between her and Tiffany Stratton. That was that was just a bad night in the office. But like, but it's like usually she's in the ring with people who have already had good matches, plenty of good matches. So once she they're going against, it's just going to be a great match, period. Kind of thing. As where with Jade, she hasn't had a whole bunch of good matches under her belt. And so I'm like, I'm a little worried, but maybe Charlotte can pull a good match out of her just like how Rhea Ripley was able to. And so that's that is where I'm at. So it's like with what you're saying, I can only hope and pray that Charlotte can help her open up and get to that second gear. I can only hope and pray.
SPEAKER_00We can only hope. And I and I realize we didn't really talk too much about this match. We spent like almost 10 minutes talking about Jay Cargo. So uh I mean that's the match. I mean, yes. Uh Tiffy, Tiffy comes out looking like uh wearing the Divas title on her chest. Uh I remember that much. Um, you know, I did enjoy the run-ins by everybody. Uh again, you had Chelsea Green, you had uh you had uh Meechin, and you had BFAP, and you had Shaw.
SPEAKER_01Wait a second, because is Chelsea Green in like did did did she finally accept Chelsea Green? Because like I know she's been like Chelsea Green's like, hey, let's be friends, and she's all like, let's not.
SPEAKER_00And then now all of us, like, what's supporting they're supporting each other, and I think it's more so like a hey, because like they did show moments where all of them were holding the title. So it's like I think a moment where uh a Jade is holding the title, and they're like Chelsea's holding the title, she got like super happy about it. So I feel like is she's a supporting act for Tiff because maybe she might be trying to get close to Tiff to then maybe turn heel and backstab. I don't know. Right now, Chelsea Green is such a wild card, she could be a face, she could be a heel, she can do no.
SPEAKER_02I mean, maybe.
SPEAKER_00What I'm saying is she's already been a heel, and we saw how like fun that was.
SPEAKER_01And then she's been fun as a face. No, I I I can agree. Chelsea Green, she's in this, uh, she's in this, she can bounce between the two depending on who she's with.
SPEAKER_00She's like a Santina Morella back in the day. Like, he, and not in a bad way, but like Santina just he was funny. He could do anything. And while Chelsea Green's character is never taken seriously, she's funny, but you can still see moments where like you've seen Santina Morella, he had a world title shot at one point and he almost won it. Like you'll see him in high-level moments, but he's still this character. And I kind of feel that same way as with Chelsea Greens, because they do put her in in moments that would be a high elevation of like a title shot or going there, but she still loses, but she still looks good. And that's what I'm saying. Like it Chelsea Green is in a situation where she could do no wrong. And I remember she said even in her podcast uh with Matt Cardona. Um, she's like, man, look, I'll do anything. I'm just trying to get booked, okay? I don't give a fuck. You want to put a pie in my face tomorrow? Cool. You want to dump milk on my head? Cool. I'm getting booked. Okay. So she is in that, and uh as we much we don't like talking about Hulk Hogan, she's trying to do business for herself. And she's trying to do business in general. She's about that bag.
SPEAKER_01And yeah, she is she is uh DTW, she is down to work. All right. And so DTW, okay. Like she is she is she is DTW, she's down to work, and which is which is great for her, and especially is which is great for her because people who are DTW end up having fantastically nice long careers where towards the end of their career they can do whatever the fuck they want to do, like fucking R-Truth, you know what I'm saying? So it's like, which is a great spot to be because it's like at the end of the day, you know, like sure, it's about way it's about cashing checks and winning championships, but at the same time, the checks don't bounce. Exactly. You know, even without the titles, checks don't bounce, and she's in a good spot where, you know, granted, a women's title reign for her will be flawless, it will be fun.
SPEAKER_00And granted, the thing about with Chelsea Green is this is also a character just like R2, just like Dan Housing, they could be making money for years, you know? There are certain talents like a Jay Cargill and everybody. They might be here for like maybe six years max. Chelsea Green, if if she's not taking crazy bumps, and she's she could be in the company still doing things because she has a lot of things.
SPEAKER_01It's that Jake the Snake effect. You know what I'm saying? Ooh, it's that Jason, it's that Jake the Snake effect where you are such a great character that we can put you anywhere, do anything with you, and put you at any tier. We can have you job out one month and then put you in the main event the next month because your character is just that good. We can put a belt on you, but we also know you don't have to have a belt because your character is that good, because your work is that good. And sure, people don't want to look at her as being like this upper echelon talent, but that's where they're screwing themselves over because not looking at her as an upper echelon talent, all you're doing is missing out on all you're doing is missing out on money. Because she's all like, fine, don't see me as an upper echelon talent, sure, but I'm great talent and I'm gonna continue being great talent type thing. So it's it but she I'm I'm pretty sure she's gonna find her way where she needs to be, where where she needs to be, which is in that top spot somewhere, because people people bullshitting on her.
SPEAKER_00But yes, so obviously we understand the next program is gonna be Jay Cargill versus Charlotte Flair, and then obviously they're probably gonna continue with Chelsea Green and Tiffy in some way, shape, or form. So who knows what happens next. But again, as always, we're along for
Jade Cargill Match And Run Ins
SPEAKER_00the ride. So let's go into the main event, the match that I didn't care about.
SPEAKER_01I kind of don't I'll be honest with you, when it came to this match, even during and after it, I actually don't have anything to say, to be honest. I it the match happened. I will say it was a great match, it was a great match to watch. Um, but at the at the end of the day, it's like okay, so what now?
SPEAKER_02And that's kind of what it was.
SPEAKER_01It's like, all right, so what now?
SPEAKER_00It's kind of like, you know, um, it's kind of like when you drink a shot and you're waiting for it to like hit you and a feel of effect, you're just like any minute now. Yes.
SPEAKER_02Do I need another one?
SPEAKER_00Any minute now. And you just keep going and going and going, and you're hoping, am I gonna get drunk yet and feel the feel of it? No, okay, so then this shit's whack. This shit weak sauce. But not saying that this story is weak sauce. I'm just trying to compare the simple fact of like you go into this match and you're wondering what is the story that you're gonna tell. And at first, I just thought, you know, maybe Gunther was gonna win or maybe Cody was gonna win. I I knew it would make sense for Sammy to win in Saudi Arabia. But personally, it would have made more sense to me if he did it in Canada, because, you know, granted, we understand his connection to the Saudi, you know, country, but like Canada, I don't know. Maybe it's just me. I might be getting overthinking it.
SPEAKER_01But yeah, I think he lives in Canada. Like, yeah. So it's like it would have made more sense to me. But he pays more homage to his his uh Muslim roots.
SPEAKER_00Yes, yes, yes. Which that's what I'm saying. Like, I can't get mad at it, because regardless, if where he did it, he would have still, but it would have been great to see maybe KO KO show up. And I know KO, I don't think he's ever done a Saudi show, has he? I'm I'm sure he has, but uh I think wait, wasn't there that one where it was him and Orton versus I don't think it was the Street Prophets. Well, I'm gonna tell you right now, I couldn't tell you.
SPEAKER_01I'd have to look it up.
SPEAKER_00I had to look it up too, but I remember there was that one match where he did jump off of a uh uh a thing to do a Swanton, and I don't remember if that was at a Saudi show or not.
SPEAKER_02Either way, um going into this match, uh I I'm just not liking Cody's character right now.
SPEAKER_00Not liking Cody's character. I'm not liking I think I need a reset of Cody for a minute.
SPEAKER_01I think I've seen too much of Cody, and I think he needs to like I feel like well that's as I said, that's what this is going to do. I do like the fact that they pinned Cody. Yeah. So now it's like that. Uh obviously we're gonna get Cody and Sami Zayn soon, which is perfectly fine. Um fuck Gunther, I guess. Uh but like for me, going into this match, I'm like, alright, it's either gonna be Cody wins or they're gonna give it to Sami Zayn. Because Gunther winning, Gunther winning would have been that, oh, so we're just taking a dump on everybody type shit. Like, oh, we're just we're just throwing, all right, got it, let's see where this goes. But it's like Cody Rose wins, like, eh, Cody Rose win, let's move on. But Sami Zayn winning, number one, they only did the here for Sami Zayn for the pop. Granted, I still don't know why we didn't do that shit fucking last week. Yeah, man. Like for them to beat him clean like that is still the most questionable shit. But but like this right now, I am content. Like, I don't feel anything from it, but I am content, and it's cool to it's gonna it's cool to see him holding the belt, but I'm just content. Like, if anything, the only thing this has done is like, well, let me make sure I at least see next week's SmackDown.
SPEAKER_00Man, look, you know what I would find funny if they did this, like, oh, the next SmackDown, he does the whole ceremony again and fucking KO powerbombs on April, April Power Bombs, and that'd be like, oh, and reset the timeline. But I know that's just not gonna happen. Just just just being facetious. But um, I can't really ride home a lot about this match. I mean, there's a double crossroads which looked fucking atrocious. It was just like my my my nigga just Gunther just turned around. That's that's what he did, and he was he was knocked out for the rest of the match. All right, great. Uh but you know, Sammy winning the way he did was also cool too. Granted, a clean pin would have been great. You know, him doing a roll-up is technically clean, but not well, that's as clean as it gets.
SPEAKER_01What you talking about now he didn't grab the tights or anything.
SPEAKER_00He didn't, but like I would have I would have preferred it be him hitting a Huluva kick and you getting the one, two, three pop rather than him doing this. And honestly, because you don't know Sammy is actually about to win, you're not about to pop correctly. You know you're supposed to pop when you see a finish and then you see a one, two, three compared to a roll-up and you get the one, two. The audience may be still thinking, and maybe I was still thinking, this nigga's about to kick out, so I'm not about to pop. And then once you get three, oh, like now you're popping, right? So you know the the spacing in between, we're all supposed to get ready to pop because you got the finish. One, dude, and then the crowd pops, right? I would have preferred Sammy get that rather than the roll-up, like is he gonna win? Oh, actually, he just fucking won. Yo, he just fucking won like that.
SPEAKER_02You know what I'm saying? I guess. I mean it's just being nitpicky. I I don't I would have preferred him having that moment. That's I mean, I guess that's fair. I mean once again, it's like you don't really got much to say about the Smash, do you?
SPEAKER_01Bro, I'm telling like going into it, once again, let me like I said, being transparent, I have not watched an episode of SmackDown in about five weeks. Yeah, I gotta get his. I have watched absolutely zero Smackdown. As a matter of fact, the only reason why I had a little bit of knowledge about what's been going on at Smackdown is because this morning, in the midst of my feeling like dog shit, my girlfriend was looking at clips of SmackDown. So I'm like half awake, my head is pounding, and I'm hearing stuff being, you know, going on about SmackDown. Which was helpful because I had nothing, no clue of anything of shit that was going on for SmackDown going for this pay-per-view.
SPEAKER_00And so it's like I do watch the recaps myself, so I do agree.
SPEAKER_01Not like like usually I would, like, I'll even watch you know some of my favorite podcasts when they'll talk about SmackDown, but I have not been. I've been putting all that time in to watch a TNA. The TNA will get their time.
SPEAKER_02But yeah, like it was all right.
SPEAKER_01Will they like the pay-per-view overall was good. Though I didn't care about this match, at least the match was very entertaining. So so at the end of it all, I'm just like, hey, Sammy got it finally. It's long overdue, but he got it.
Sami Zayn Title Win Reactions
SPEAKER_00If I could rank matches by a number, going if we're going with five is the as the top, I would give, and this is going off Dave Melser's ranking system, I would give Oba and Jay a four. Not a five, but a four. Maybe almost a three point five, but like it's definitely higher, right? Um I would give Eo versus Liv a two. Um, I would give Seth and Braun. I'll give it a three because it made me feel in the beginning. It made me say, oh shit, okay, this might be some, this might be a banger. Uh tricking Ricky.
SPEAKER_02It's a three three point. That's a three, it's a three, it's a three, it's three. Uh I'm gonna stand on it. Uh Jay Cargo versus Tiffy. That's a two point five. That's a two point five.
SPEAKER_00Um and then the main event. That's also a two point five. That's that's that's I'm standing on it. I'm gonna stand on that. I'm gonna stand on that.
SPEAKER_02All right, I'm standing on that.
SPEAKER_01Listen, for me, the whole pay-per-view to me was a three. All the matches, to me, all the matches were a three, except the main event. The main event, I give a four because though I did not have a whole lot to say about it, there was a lot of action. There was a lot of ups and downs in the match, and I was very out of all of the matches, aside from Oba Femi's match, the match did hold my attention. You know what I'm saying?
SPEAKER_00But would you rank it higher than the Oba Femi match, though?
SPEAKER_01The reason why I rank it higher than the Oba Femi match is because the Oba Femi match, what it did for you, it did not do for me. Okay. It as like in the and what it did do the fact of being like, oh shit, we let him win clean. We gave him the belt, the title, or or the or the the crown. Crown. Okay. Damn, now I'm really curious to see what we're about to do with this guy. You know, like it did give that to me, but like the match in itself, cause like I would maybe I'll give it a 3.5, maybe.
SPEAKER_00Because like, because you to go back what you said, you really did go with the main event. You was like, so what happens next, right?
SPEAKER_01Like, granted, you could probably say that same thing with Oba, but like So the But the difference between uh Oba Femius match and the main event match is because the fact that the main event match it went on longer, and there was a lot more action. And there was a and like I said, though I went into that match not really expecting anything, as I'm as I watched it, I got more invested and it became and I got more curious. And granted, they did kind of spam finishers a little bit, but like it had me like near the end of it, it got me invested enough where I'm like, well, oh shit, who is gonna win? type thing. Now, once I got the win, I was like, oh, Sami Zayn won. Cool. That was a great match to watch. That was that was fun to watch, type of thing. The Oba Femi match, it was the only reason why I give out I would push to maybe give it that 0.5 was because of the fact that they did they did not job main event oos. He didn't he didn't get jobbed out.
SPEAKER_00You want you you would have given it a higher score if he got jobbed?
SPEAKER_01No. I would have got a lower score if he got jobbed.
SPEAKER_00Got it.
SPEAKER_01All right. I was expecting him to get jobbed out.
SPEAKER_00And I was expecting well No, I'm just saying everybody in the I No, I'm saying everybody in the IWC was just saying Jay was gonna win clean. So the fact that you were like, no, Oba's winning is if Jay would have won, it absolutely wasn't gonna be clean.
SPEAKER_01It was either going to be bloodline foolishness or Brock Lesnar foolishness. That's where I that's how he was winning in my book. Oba Femming winning was a it's like Oba Femi winning was the well, of course he should win, but like I don't think he's going to win because looming Brock Lesnar in Jacob Fatu situations. And so when they did it, where he came out there and they fought, fought. Number one, I was surprised that they're fight-fighting because, you know, when you look at Jay O'S Jay, he's not a Brock Lesnar in no way, shape, or form. And yet Jay is out here doing damage. Why? Main event bubble. Okay, so they're honoring the main event bubble that Jay is in going up against Oba Femi. Okay, I'm interested. They fight and they fight. Jay Uso looks like he actually might get something on him on his own. Okay, I'm interested. Oba Femi wins, no outside interference, and it looked like it was an actual challenge for him. Well shit. Okay, that's cool.
SPEAKER_00And and that's why and that's why I feel like it gets that elevation to a four for me because it was no bullshit. Like it would have been a 3.5 for the match alone, but like the fact that That he won the way he did, it was like, oh, so the percentage went from holy shit.
SPEAKER_01But like, but but I think the only reason why like the main event did what it did for me was mostly it's literally just because of the match. The match was it was action-packed and it wasn't dry or stale. And the three of them literally held their own, and like the three of them also very much they they made it entertaining to watch. The match probably would have done a whole lot more for me if I was probably watching Smackdown. Like, this match probably could have been ranked much higher, and I probably would have been more entertained and and hyper, hyper about Sami Zayn winning kind of thing. But because I have not been watching Smackdown and I've only been hearing about Smackdown, you know, by the trickle-down effect, and looking at, you know, different news reports and reading about them and stuff like that, you know, that's why it's just like but at the same time though, because that match was just like very fun to watch, and there was a lot that went into the match, that's why it gets the higher rating type of thing. Okay, because like I just enjoyed the match. As where the Oba Femi match, the match in itself was okay, but because of the story and then the speculations that was going into it, and then what we actually got and stuff like that, like I almost feel like the reasons why it gets like the point five, a lot of that has nothing to do with the actual match itself. It's just the I wouldn't call it controversy, but like the outside of the wrestling thought process going into the match type thing.
SPEAKER_00And that's and that's what's interesting because again, that's what made me excited. Because, well, I wouldn't say it didn't make me excited. It it definitely make me, it made me put my eyes on this match more because it was like, all right, so this my brain was already like, this might be a dumpster fire, so how the fuck are you gonna do this? And then to to get in the moment where like, hey, actually, this it's like, oh, it's that it's that meme, oh, this is pretty good. And then you're actually starting to tell me this story of like how these two are, uh, and the the back and forth between them. And it was just like, actually, this might be a pretty good match. And then to get the outcome that we did with no shenanigans, you just made him look strong. There was no Brock Lesnar shenanigans.
Star Ratings And What Worked
SPEAKER_00I feel like here's the issue then Brock can't come up anytime soon now, unless Brock beats. What if they pull a but that that'd be different? Oba would have to tell him no. I was about to say, what if they pull a Taker and Shawn Michaels situation where um, you know, obviously now we're not getting Brock versus Oba Femi at SummerSlam, so that just kind of throws off the the throws the wrench off that everybody assumed was gonna happen. So then my thought process was what if, I guess, Brock takes the belt from Sammy? And then now he's going to uh uh a WrestleMania, but maybe if that if they would do that, and I'm just again, few I'm I'm booking in my brain. Um, if they did something like that, I think what would have to happen is Oba has to not want to choose his opponent yet or something like that, and then Brock maybe beats him, beats Sammy, gets the title in some way, shape, or form, and then now you make SummerSlam where they're going for the belt. No, I guess I'm just confused because like that was what we thought was the plan is Brock versus Oba at SummerSlam, and now you just do a monkey wrench in it, and it's like, okay, so when do we actually hit that match?
SPEAKER_01So, what a lot of people are saying is probably gonna happen is the fact that because you know, SummerSlam is two nights, and so night one, Oba Femi ends up fighting Brock Lesnar, and in my opinion, what happens is especially if he's wanting to go against like a Roman Reigns or something like that, he's apparently he said is like night one, he fights Brock Lesnar, and then him and Brock Lesnar have this knockout brawl, beat the shit out of each other, and because of that how how ridiculously taxing that match is gonna be, when he fights Roman Reigns, he loses. He's when he when he when he beats Brock Lesnar, like Brock Lesnar is like you know gonna take all of his strength to win, to, to, to, you know, to for Oba Femi to win. So then when he goes up against Roman Reigns, he's tired. Which then leads to Roman Reigns winning the title.
SPEAKER_00Well, but here's the thing though: do it in a way that uh Oba still looks strong, so it's like Roman Reigns is like, I want to say a little bit doubt himself, but he's a little bit worried. Where even where it starts causing tension in the bloodline to be like, yo, in the ring, I know he was he he was hurt, but he almost got me. And I feel like a part of that, he's Jacob. No, no, no, no, I get that. So basically, what he tries to start doing is those tactics where he realizes he almost lost, but Oba Femi is gonna still keep chasing him, right? So he's still chasing him. So he's hoping that he may start adding elements of like making Jacob Fatto try to take him out. Well, take use the Usos first, then Jacob Fatu. And then we get another match where Oba Femi doesn't win, and then maybe what he could do next, you could do one or two things. Either he wins the Elimination Chamber or the Royal Rumble, something that brings them back to where they wrestle at WrestleMania, and that is when Oba Femi wants to. But that could be the long because Triple H loves long storybooking to uh booking, uh that would make the most sense to me.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, something like that. Honestly, I when it comes to the Oba Femi and Brock Lesnar thing, because also with the fact of like how you were saying the fact, you know, he's tired and everything, and then Roman Reigns fights him, and then because that once again, we we bloodline bullshit can still end up happening. Yeah, that's what I'm saying. You know, so or even more so, you know, fucking like brock like he beat like he beats Brock Lesnar, everything's good, but then he sends Jacob Fatu out there and tongue and deaf grips the shit out of him, you know, and like does the his moon his Jacob Fatto moonsault several times on Obafemi and just like slay beats the shit out of Obafemi so that when it goes into night one, night two, Oba Femi comes out there, he's got the tape on the ribs, you know, he's bandaged up, he's got the fucking scotch tape stuff on him and everything. He's hurt, he's damaged. He has this long drawn-out fight with Roman Reigns, and whether if bloodline still interferes or gets involved and stuff like that, you know, bada bing, bada boom, that's how you make Obafemi look strong because he is still hurt and battle damaged, and yet he still almost beats Roman Reigns, and Roman Reigns has to resort to doing his bloodline shit.
SPEAKER_00And so it's like exactly what I'm saying. Yeah, that's exactly what I'm saying. But like do it in a way where then Roman is like he was still hurt, but yet he almost still got me. So it's kind of building up the story that Oba can beat him, but uh Roman has to try to use his bloodline tactics to weaken him. So it's a way where it's Roman's elevating Oba Femi as in I was this, but this guy is gonna be this, right? So it's a it's a an opportunity to elevate Oba Femi as a person who needs nobody. He's uh, you know, a guy who can handle any situation. He's strong enough, and he's able to take down our tribal chief, right? And since Roman is getting to that point where he's trying to get more Hollywood anyway, he's gonna have to, he's gonna step down.
