In How to Die for Nothing, Ned and Zack ride into Dodge drunk and reckless, attracting Marshal Matt Dillon’s attention. When Ned’s brother Howard Bulow seeks revenge, tensions rise. Matt and Chester work to prevent violence while enforcing the law. A sudden, almost pointless act of aggression leaves Bulow dead, showing how vengeance can spiral out of control and highlighting the human cost of frontier justice.
In Dutch George, a young man is ambushed in the wilderness, revealing Dutch George’s return to Dodge as a notorious horse thief. Matt Dillon tracks George while Jimmy, the victim, attempts his own revenge. Skirmishes with Cheyenne attackers and George’s outlaws test Dillon and Chester’s resolve. Justice is enforced, and George departs, leaving a cautionary lesson: “Never trust a stranger,” underscoring the unpredictability of life and law on the frontier.
