Lazy or Misdirected Pt.4 FINAL: Execution, Not Perfection
Use Left/Right to seek, Home/End to jump to start or end. Hold shift to jump forward or backward.
What if the thing blocking your results isn’t effort—but completion?
Progress doesn’t come from perfect ideas. It comes from finished ones.
In this reflective Soul Spa moment on the EmpowerHER Business Podcast, Linette closes the series by shifting the focus from perfectionism to execution. Many Black women entrepreneurs in their first five years stay in cycles of refining, adjusting, and preparing—but never fully completing or releasing their work. And without completion, results can’t fully land.
This final reflective pause invites you to examine where “almost done” has become a pattern. When you choose completion over perfection, momentum returns. Visibility increases. Results begin to match your effort—not because you worked harder, but because you finally finished.
In this Lazy or Misdirected Part 4 episode, you’ll experience:
- A final reframe of perfectionism vs completion
- Insight into why unfinished work delays results
- A grounding check-in on where you’re stuck in “almost done” cycles
- Permission to release imperfect work into the world
- Encouragement to prioritize completion over constant refinement
This episode is part of The Soul Spa — short solo pauses you can return to whenever you need a moment of grounding.

Together, we’re helping women entrepreneurs thrive beyond Year Five!
Hey and welcome back to the Empower Her Business Podcast Soul Spa series, where our intention is to bring you food for your soul. This is your space to pause, to breathe, and to come back to yourself. Here we navigate through the nuances and internal challenges of building a great business, bringing inside clarity, and tapping into our inner guidance. Over the last three episodes, we've been peeling back layer by layer. We started with the question, are you lazy or misdirected? Then we looked at being busy versus building. And we talked about why even when you know what to do, you may not be doing it. And today we're bringing it all together because growth in your business is not random, it's not luck, and it's not about doing more. I am not an advocate of the hustle and grind culture. I am the complete opposite. So growth in your business comes from a couple of very specific things, and most of them are simple, but not always easy. So growth comes from being connected to people, having conversations, making offers, following up, and allowing yourself to be seen in a way that connects to your work. That's it. I'm going to list those again. Being connected to people, having conversations, making offers, following up, and allowing yourself to be seen in a way that connects to your work. Everything else supports that. But those are the things that actually move your business forward. So when you think about your week, your time, your energy, I want you to begin filtering it through that lens. Is it supporting connection? Is it supporting visibility? Is it supporting revenue? Or is this something that just feels productive but isn't actually tied to the growth of my business? And here's the gentle shift I want you to make. Not all at once and not perfectly. We talked about we're not going for perfection, right? But just intentionally move a little more of your time towards the things that create growth, and a little less towards the things that just keep you busy. The good news is you don't need to overhaul everything, nor do you need to become someone else. You just need clarity and willingness. Clarity on what actually matters and willingness to move in that direction. And if you're ready to actually put this into practice, I'm here to help. Check out the CEO guide I created for you. It will walk you through this step by step. You'll find it in the show notes. Let's take a breath here. If today's experience resonated, I'm glad you're here. I invite you to trust what's stirring inside you. We will continue this walk together. Until then, take care of yourself, and I'll talk to you soon on the next episode of the Soul Spa. Be well.
