Alright, welcome to the Degenation Podcast. How long? It was like how long I can never tell how long your vape drives are.
SPEAKER_03I was gonna cut that one short.
SPEAKER_02No, don't ever cut it short. Don't stop vaping. It's called.
SPEAKER_04Stop vaping. Hold on to that thing.
SPEAKER_02I feel like the Filipino singer of like um of Journey That Took Over is just like you know they don't have new dude. No music. They don't do new music, and it's because it's all because all it no, it's recorded. Not even 30 seconds. It's like it's all because they've gotta stop it. They gotta stop the voices. No, it's like um all his stuff was just so weird or bad. And it was just like, yeah, like the Filipino is like, look, you can still sing the songs, but like for fuck's sake, please stop. Stop submitting originals. And he's like, Do you mean don't stop? And he's like, dude, fuck no. You can't stop. He's got a good voice, though. I made out of the city.
SPEAKER_03You can't say it's an original if all you're doing is changing one word at the end of the day.
SPEAKER_02Filipino Journey is not, they were not maybe they made an album, but I don't know. Does anyone know? Oh my god.
unknownStop.
SPEAKER_02Please stop. Like you can't you can't just say that's a good one. So you know that's something Faithfully? Do you know that one? Faithfully. It's about like being on the road and like still having the relationship. Yeah. Oh, so Steve Perry journey. I was gonna say Filipino cover band journey. Most of Steve Perry journey. He's like an Obrin O'Marrons looking guy. You know, he's kind of a dick. Steve. I meant to say. Also, that song. Detroit, by the way, Detroit, latching onto that is so fucking Detroit. It's so fucking pathetic. Where's Steve Perry? There's no South Detroit. There's no South Detroit. South Detroit is literally Windsor, Canada, dude. I wish. That's South Detroit. I wish I knew more about it. He's from the Bay. No, you don't. No, you don't. The inner part now is kind of cool-ish, but it's like they're so the Detroit area people.
SPEAKER_01And I'm not just saying this because, you know, we would just watch the Pistons choke, which is delightful. Go crazy.
SPEAKER_02Go anyone but Detroit teams. Except for the Tigers. Love the Tigers.
SPEAKER_01Love the Tigers.
SPEAKER_02Um, but like they are just so miserable. And they don't make the connection that it's probably because they're in Detroit area adjacent. If everyone you meet is an asshole. And and and you don't ever go anywhere else to live, maybe. Or you are such an asshole inborn from just being in that ecosystem that you go somewhere else and then you're like can't get along with anyone.
SPEAKER_00I'm from Detroit.
SPEAKER_02And it's like they're not from Detroit, yeah. They're not. It's just like it's like that uh eminent like in 8 Mile is like, oh, Claim in Detroit, or one of the songs, like y'all like three counties away or cities away. It's like his real name's Clarence. And Clarence is a very good thing. Clarence has a real good marriage, yeah. But no one has a real good marriage in Detroit.
SPEAKER_03I can't. And the Detroit suburbs that trust me not trust me. If you're if you're son, if you're naming your son Clarence and you live in Detroit, um yeah, what was this? Hawk.
SPEAKER_01Hopefully, Journey. He's like, wait, South Detroit!
SPEAKER_02I didn't even know going to MSU in the early 2000s that there was no South Detroit. But the moment I found that out, I was like, So was and I just found I was yesterday years old or whatever when I found out that the the Red Wings, what? Was he taking the piss? Was it just a lyric? Like Sassy's. The people in Detroit are they are they still like he's talking about us? Yeah, it's literally Windsor, Canada. And uh people from Detroit fucking hate Canada for some reason.
SPEAKER_00It's just wonder why.
SPEAKER_02Right, and it's not because of that. I mean, I have an I have a relative, an aunt, and she's like, ah, Canada. I was like, they're nicer than you are.
SPEAKER_03They are they are our better neighbors as well. Would you wish Mexico was up here next to you guys?
SPEAKER_02Yeah, I mean, well, not the cart that it's the cartels. That's true. So it's like that's really the only that's like I don't know, it's it's it's it's unfair to say because it's like if everyone comes from a place It is unfair to say and that the place is it them or is it the place? I think it's usually the place. Yeah. Usually. Maybe not for the Detroiters. But the Detroit if Detroiters like immigrated somewhere in with an American.
SPEAKER_03We should start shipping Detroit.
SPEAKER_02Detroit emigration emigrating from Detroit, and they're like, oh god, they'd start watching wearing Bears Bears gear and like fucking uh no, no, get it off them.
SPEAKER_03Get it off them.
SPEAKER_02Whoever Detroit's rivals are, which is like whoever lowers themselves.
SPEAKER_03I could I could release Detroit fans seem like the type fucking suck. Like they would move to a tigers, and they would start rooting for that city and be like, no, man, I'm I've been for the city.
SPEAKER_02Oh, you remember when the Rams were on the Detroit Rams because the staffer got traded, people were making shirts and shit, and they would buy them. I do somewhat remember that. I was just like, I hope you make money off these idiots.
SPEAKER_03Because it's so pathetic, dude. I can't believe he actually fucking won an MVP last year. Yeah, no, I believe he was good. 37?
SPEAKER_02Well, I mean, yeah, because he That's pretty damn good. He's 37, 38. I saw him in I saw him play at a bowl game when I was several years out of college. I was like oh eight. Yeah, because he's been and they torched at him.
SPEAKER_03Georgia. Georgia. But yeah, no, no, man, honestly, Laszkin Georgia quarterback, to be honest. Um Stenson Bennett is the other guy, but hey, it's not Carson Beck.
SPEAKER_02Carson Drake. Carson Drick. And then he and then he switched. Yeah, that guy is such a tool, man. Carson Beck. Anyways, um, just Steve Perry, dude. Dude, like that I made out at a journey concert. Wasted. It was Journey and Def Web. Right?
SPEAKER_00Ooh, that's a nice combo.
SPEAKER_02I you normally we were like, hey, you gotta sound the alarm when there's I tell a story, but there's gonna be some stories in this because you're these aren't things you've heard.
SPEAKER_03These are oh, okay.
SPEAKER_02And Laos hasn't heard Vietnam, I don't think, is easy to be. These are fresh stories. But it's like just like walking like two-thirds of the way through the comp concert. I'm like, I need another beer. I probably had like six beers. Oh, yeah. Like four of them in the van before that. My friend drove us. Hell yeah. And I was just like, oh, I gotta get another beer. I gotta need a $7 2006 beer. Give it to me. It was called Nissan Pavilion then still. Oh yeah, Jiffy. It was Nissan Pavilion for a while. It'll always be Nissan Pavilion to me. And so I'm like going there, and I like just the song struck me in a way. The Filipino version of Faith in me. Oh my god. And that was just like her. And there was a woman, I think I was probably 23, 24. Was she thinking the same thing? I think she was probably she was somewhere between 33 and 55. And I just started making out with her. Nice range. Just like for like a bar or two with a song, and then just I disappeared. I got a beer. Didn't it and I think maybe later the unfaithfully and they just marriage. Probably. I hope so. I really hope so too. Look, if you're if your marriage can't sustain Filipino journey with Def No, Def Leopard as like the cool-off. What if she just started like freaking out during Def Leopard? Whereas I just didn't really enjoy it. Because it was you don't want to sober up to like an 80s band that was like the biggest band in the world, but you don't really know a lot of their deeper tracks like their better tracks. Imagine you're sobering up to pour some sugar on me and you just made out with a married one in like 20 minutes. Yeah. And you're like, oh shit, ruin their marriage, and now I'm sober. Awesome.
SPEAKER_03I can't name another Def Leopard song.
SPEAKER_02Well, I mean, exactly. Like you're younger, so it's like they're not a thing anymore. But they were they were the biggest band in the world.
SPEAKER_03That song was on a uh like a swim a fucking terrible song.
SPEAKER_02Dude, I couldn't I wouldn't even allow myself to get head to that song. Poor swimming. That didn't actually happen too. It's kind of that's that's definitely you're talking about like 10th grade like swim girls just developing and dancing at all.
SPEAKER_03I'm talking Patrick being Patrice being a like fourth grader, and this is like a Wait, they played that as a fourth grade song.
SPEAKER_02You know what's about a frothing pussy? It is about frothing eighties pussy. It is what it is the 80s version of watermelon sugar. Yeah, Mutt Lang's no, it's not. It's like way worse than way worse than him. Oh my god. No, it was like Mutt Lang's like, hey man, we need another track. Yeah, we need coke and we need another track. Yeah, he's probably just giving him coke, cut the guy's arm off, and like what if it was like Mutt Lang caused the action contest?
SPEAKER_03Which 80 bands do you think were doing the most coke? Most coke? I guess most all of them, but uh no, no.
SPEAKER_02Um, ooh, how many bands? Any of the hair bands like that didn't that weren't the first in or last out. You know, like it's anywhere in the middle of that rap and Cinderella. But Molly Crew is definitely doing the most. So I don't think it's fair to say like those notes without you know the true remote. That's a great song.
SPEAKER_03Um that one and Dr. Fieldgun are their true. That song hits sometimes, and I just it takes me somewhere. It takes you a place, takes you to Philip in the journey. I don't even listen to it that much.
SPEAKER_02Well, yeah, nobody does anymore.
SPEAKER_03And it's just because they're stopped doing coke. Or like the girls, the ladies start stopping brothing. I think you can stop right there. Stop doing coke. Why do man, why doesn't anyone listen to these sweet hair bangs?
SPEAKER_02Yeah, this guy, they've got two bangers, and you release like their most emotional songs. Anyone that does. Well, not gonna feel good as doing it. Well, no, for example, I fucking love ACDC unless I'm not already in the mood for AC DC. Because every song is, even with two different singers, very deeply similar vibes. Completely. So when it's like their like quote unquote most successful song, which is You Shook Me All Night Long, that's probably like my least favorite song of theirs.
SPEAKER_03Actually, to be honest, it's I think it's Back and Black, maybe.
SPEAKER_02Back and Black is that, but that was uh the Back and Black album. And like Thunderstruck most that is the coolest one. Also, a great drinking song. Great drinking song. Have you also done the drinking game and got caught on thunder for a minute and a half just chugging? Dude, it is the best. I did that at like 11 in the morning once before the Big Ten tournament. It was great. We ate Wiener Schnitzel. It was fucking gross.
SPEAKER_03Was that like the only thing you ate that day? Yes.
SPEAKER_02It was a cross and I threw beer cans across my apartment because I was like, they're like, what are you doing? I was like, it's my There's no God, or it's just like there's nothing matters. I do it at once. We lose this Big Ten Tournament open, I'm gonna kill myself. I did Thunder Stick. I get a Yes! It's right. I have the deepest thunder part. It's 2011. I can do what I want. I always got fucking I think things got so much darker after that, not because that direction I was going. It was like something else. Um your friends what?
SPEAKER_03I always I somehow always got cornered into getting the the long thunderstorm. Dude, I want it. I wanted it until I wasn't too fucked up, and then I was like, You gotta start. You're gonna keep it going, keep it going.
SPEAKER_02No, you gotta, you gotta um you know another good game, drinking game. Man, we should have met each other a long time is waterfall. Like if every time they say waterfall, you just everyone just drinks it until the next time they say. And if you get scot out of three little letters, what do you have to do then? Wait, what are you talking about that's the HIV reference? The only RB HIV reference that I know of. Also, what was up with like big condoms influencing like 90s hip hop, early 90s hip hop? Sorry, but they're always talking about jimmy hats, and it's just like, why? Why? When did we cross over and just for jimmy hats? Do we're rappers really wearing condoms?
SPEAKER_03No, who tell me I don't know single rapper.
SPEAKER_02If you're a rap if you're a rapper, uh email us at and you were raped back then, before like if Tupac and Biggie were alive while you were rapping, please email us at degenerate nation at gmail.com. Give us your um give us your LinkedIn. Uh LinkedIn. No, we don't have a LinkedIn at the moment. Well give us yours. The moment. Yeah, give us yours. We'll look it up. We'll like we'll judge your resume. Yeah. Your post-rap career resume.
SPEAKER_03We'll judge your resume, judge your response.
SPEAKER_02Speaking of work. No, I will get to that. That was a great that was a beautiful attempted say. Well, thank you. But like we I didn't give the other bands of cocaine. We're in the case. That's right.
SPEAKER_03We didn't we didn't get back to their moment in um enough.
SPEAKER_02Well, I was gonna say, like, I think they they just ran out of a certain coke, like the cocaine aesthetic, yeah, just dropping off the face of the earth. It dried out was like it wasn't heroin didn't create grunge or affect grunge. I think they just all ran out of coke and made better music. It's like, what if we didn't do coke? And then they just started learning an instrument, and then they just started feeling alienated because they became artists. They were learning to be step one, I'm on board. Yeah, it's like the geographic like place was perfect for this. It's like Seattle or you know, Washington area, Aberdeen, etc. Yeah. And you had Chris Cornell, you had it, and you had um the drummer, it's Cameron, right? Um something uh for for both Pearl Jam and um Soundgarden. You had uh Eddie Vedder moved to Seattle, but he was from like Chicago and then uh San Diego, I think.
SPEAKER_04Okay.
SPEAKER_02Um he was like he worked at a fucking gas station and like surfed every morning. And then he just wrote these text. And it was like the the the fucking um the one that was once uh and alive in the other one, footsteps, I think. When he's just like that, just like they called the mama son trolls. Anyways, yeah, and then all the outs and chains guys, uh Mother Lovebone, so it was like Andrew Wood. That kind of launched all those other bands like Canabox. Yeah, but it's crazy, but it's like well, what what was the com one of the commonalities though? I think was first off, you're probably an outsider, you're picking up an instrument, right? Even in the 80s, because it's like people were listening to that shit, but not a lot of people. Like the 80s like rock from like 86 to like what 89 or whatever, so the bond until Nirvana killed it, really. It was like 86 to 90. 80s rock isn't like I don't think rock isn't. 80s music was really interesting, and a lot of it was really good, but 80s rock fucking sucks. Totally agreed, except for the ones that you heard of, and not their entire catalogs, right? Completely.
SPEAKER_03Completely agree. Sucks. Rock, I think a lot of people I'm I'm with you a hundred percent on on this. And Bon Jovi sucks except for Runner. On this mind, on this mind way.
SPEAKER_02I know, I love that song. But yeah, they got those are the two biggest ones, and it's like DevLub is way better than Bon Jovi, but like, um, but yeah, and the Guns and Roses are really cool. Bon Jovi kind of sucks. Bon Jovi, he seems cool. Bon Jovi, he seems really cool.
SPEAKER_03I've never, I should take that back. I think Bon Jovi. I don't I don't like his music. Man, how is he a great artist? He was a musician. I loved him. That doesn't mean he's a great artist.
SPEAKER_02I don't like it. Dude, Hitler was a better artist than John Bon Jovi. Well, he sold he sold. There's two more copies. Mind comp. Oh my god. Fucking on the show. Side by side comparison. We need a comp of comparison of like slippery when wet versus mind compared. Slippery wet by a nose. Whoa, whoa, whoa. No, they were still like cover bands are still playing that to this day, and it's just like you can't tell the fucking difference. This one goes to the drowning in Lochlear Pussy, and so it's like, what's the difference between a Sambor like and some other schmo, right? Because it's like, dude, I did this, this is what I got. Should I just do this again or should I just drown in Lochlear Pussy till we break up? It's not a bad idea. It's not a bad life. No, it's not. I wish I could drown in anything. And like drown and like just drown? Yeah. I breathe in everything. Perfect transition back to grunge, right? It's like my argument is like geographic, the timing of like what was out there is probably once they they were picking up instruments and just like, you know what? Like, we could probably do better than this. Like, I feel like I think like hearing Alice and Chains, um, they were originally kind of they were playing like some of the rock type of stuff, and they just developed differently around their sound, but it wasn't like they were all in the same scene, but they weren't like copying each other, it was just like exploding. They were all and there's the only thing that's close to that was the West Coast hip-hop and east coast hip-hop of the late 80s, early early 90s. Around the city. So what there are three music scenes except for Motown in America, ever that mattered. Detroit. Well, yeah, but it was that was just where the studio was. The artists weren't fucking fun there.
SPEAKER_03I don't think a lot of them came like now I you're probably right. I don't know a lot about Detroit, but I would think.
SPEAKER_02Right, because it was like you had passed in 1968, so it's like they had their race rides and shit. Yeah. And though it was called the White Flight, well, they moved to like the suburbs. Still called them Detroit. Dude, don't give me stories. Oh, we already are on it. We're in it.
SPEAKER_03Yeah. Was that probably you're thinking you're in a later movie? You're in one. Yeah, that fucking great.
SPEAKER_02Dude, I was awesome. That's a great fucking movie. The first pipe. Um the other ones were just like thrown together too quick.
SPEAKER_03It's fucking great. The amount of detail put into the special effects on um in the first one and uh on the poison's dead people. Yeah. Like, yeah.
SPEAKER_01I would drink poison out of Kira Knightley's butt.
unknownOh, dude.
SPEAKER_01Just to live in that world.
SPEAKER_02What if it was just like you're like, wait, you don't want to get with Kira Knightley? No, I just want to be a Kerr. No, I just want to be a pirate. I want to be Wolf Turner. I want to be Woltriners. She was unbelievable. She had an unbelievable run. She's still a gorgeous. She was before she was in. She's in a ghost. She was in um what was she in?
SPEAKER_03She was in. Before she was in the Pirates? Yeah, she was in a movie before that. She was in Bandit.
SPEAKER_02Oh, she was a soccer player? Yeah. You're like, you're just like going back to her like her like uh Cheese It commercial. Oh my god. Like British commercial. Cheese Its UK. Well, yeah, what would they be called? Oh, did uh Cheddis. Cheddar. Pirates like Caribbean came out in 03. No, 04, 04, sorry. Because I was uh I saw it in Charlotte. My brother had just uh Luther Danger had just gotten to um like an orientation for uh cooking school, and I was just like, I I I had just started boozing legally. Hell yeah. I we I I barfed on my birthday. My mom picked me up from the metro, barfed out the car window. Nice. And then I or then met the bus. A metro to the bus, barf, barf. And then I moved the next day. We had a ride to Charlotte. I'm just like hung over. But the moment I got sober up or slash got another beer in my system, powers of the Caribbean! It's like that was like seminal, so that's why I remember the the year. Yeah. I mean you were like in diapes. I was eight. You are also in eight diapes. It was like pull way ups. Pull way ups. You're standing up, you're walking, you're running.
SPEAKER_03I can still pee in my pants. Yeah, but I don't pee in my pants, god damn it.
SPEAKER_02But you Kira Nile, oh my god. She was a babe. She's still a fucking big. Oh, one of the her her best movie is. Have you ever seen Seeking a Friend for the End of the World? I've heard it. I've seen it. Dude, I've seen it. It's so good. It was her and Steve Carell, and it's just like the premise is like there's an asteroid.
SPEAKER_03Okay.
SPEAKER_02And they re everyone realizes it, and it's just like the week or something.
SPEAKER_03Is this a recent movie?
SPEAKER_02It was like, oh it must have been 10 or 9 or 11 or something. Um in the midst of her uh power. Yeah, but it was just like, wow. And that movie, like, do not so okay, I have a I have a quick thing, and I'll get to I'll get to uh finish the goddamn, finish something. Finish the grunge parallel, cocaine heroin grunge, parallel. Yes, all of this. And then I'll get to the right the work thing because you can just fucking laugh. You need a break, you need to be able to laugh at that. Yes. And you'll feel so much, you're gonna feel so good about yourself comparatively. I am I know we don't try to preach social comparison, but you are gonna be like, oh my god. Okay, how did you survive this? Um I'm ready. But yeah, no, oh god, Kieranite. But yeah, this one of those movies is like, do not if you're uh rule of thumb, if you're dating somebody and there's a little uncertainty about how where you really stand, do not watch a movie that that is such has such a succinct love story, whether it has happened or not. Oh no. There you're just like you're just devastated. Where you're just like, that's not my love. It's no, that's like your love isn't like that. When you're comparing your love to like Brokeback Mountain or like a little bit of a fucking asteroid, in it like an asteroid storyline where you're worried about like the end of the world and you're literally trying to connect with someone before the world dies. No, no spoilers, but like that's what the premise is leads up to. Um, I won't say what happens, but it's like watch it, it's good. But don't watch it if you're on the fence or who you're dating, even remotely. If anything can creep up. Another one other Up in the air, I went out on a date. Oh, good movie. Good movie. Bad date movie. Bad, bad date. You know that Seinfeld thing where they saw Schindler's listener making out, or but at least they were making out. You cannot fuck or get you can't finger, you can't do nothing up in the air. No, it's depressing as fuck because it's so real, dude. It's Clooney, man. Well, because they go, he he thinks that what he finally thinks he's gonna connect, and it's like she's fucking married. You know, and then the Kendrick character breaks up with a person and quits, and then there's a suicide in it. Wait, this is up in the air. You don't watch it, right?
SPEAKER_03What's the the ending of the thing?
SPEAKER_02The lady. Yeah, the he like he goes to Chicago. The lady with the family. Yeah, she's married with a family.
SPEAKER_03But she doesn't tell him the whole time?
SPEAKER_02No. What? Well, she's married. She's a one-to-no Connor. Even in the movies. Um classic. Classic.
SPEAKER_03That is a great movie. That is a fucking dark and sad movie. That suicide catches you.
SPEAKER_02That's amazing. One of the best suicides in a movie. It is.
SPEAKER_03But it like she like she tells you, she's like, I'm gonna throw myself off that fucking building.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, and then she does it.
SPEAKER_03And it's like, yeah. Excuse me? 988, if you need help. I don't love um what's your face in that? Or don't love her as an actress, but she's great in that. She's she's like her. Oh, she's like, I think she's she's she is really good. She's anxious. Is it bad? Does it stress you out? I think she is she does a great job at I don't know.
SPEAKER_02I don't remember being like kind of buzz watching uh movie she was in. I was like, I can I'm gonna pull Anna Kendrick. She is cute. Right, but that's at that level of accessibility and intelligence, like work, right? Sense of quirk. She could be awful for all I know. I don't think though.
SPEAKER_03Yeah, I don't think so either.
SPEAKER_02She's no Kira Knightley, but she's like she's like Kira Knightley, call Patrick. Please. She'd have kids, right? Look it up, look it up, look it up, look it up. Look it up. I was gonna tell her something. Okay, just we're talking to Kira Knight. This is directly to you. Kira Knightley. I could listen up. I could be your David Beckham. I could be David Beckham. What are you talking about? Because you're gonna you're gonna have her bend it? She was like taller than that. I gotta bend it. Oh my god, Peronis! Peroni's disease! Bend it like Ford. Alright, he's looking us up, and we have to find out, Kirin. I don't think she does, man. She's pure. Does she have kids? Oh yeah, she's too much.
SPEAKER_03Only 41?
SPEAKER_02Yeah, she's a fucking baby.
SPEAKER_03She's been around for a minute.
SPEAKER_02Portman's like 45 is like 17 kids.
SPEAKER_03She gained recognition for her role in Bend It Like Becca.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, but she was like 15 then. She was probably 16.
SPEAKER_03She's probably a British 15.
unknownOh my god.
SPEAKER_02A British 15. They go by the pound system there. It's metric except for except for reminding. Oh my god. Um a spouse. Um, well grunge. So what we're saying is like heroin didn't enter the picture necessarily right away, right? Because it's like they weren't. I don't think initially they were inspired by like the heroine. I think it was just like they're in the South, the Southwest. The Northwest, it's rainy. Pick up a guitar, find another guy with long hair, you smoke. People, the Seahawks sucked. Yeah. The Mariners sucked. There's nothing else to do. If you're not hiking, you're in.
SPEAKER_03Is Griffey not there yet?
SPEAKER_02No. He was uh his rookie year was 89. So it's like um They don't know what's to come. They don't know what's to come. Oh, you mean the the great history of Seattle Mariners never made a World Series. They had fun though. They had fun though. They didn't have it's not fun. Ichero? You play in a fucking dome and then you never make a World Series. It sucks. Give him some. Give him some experience. Some happy experience. No, they did. It was the grunge, which was the grunge. And it was the heroine. Yeah, heroin. I was like, but like, I'm gonna trace it back to like that to just a dry couple years for music and cocaine, and just the the mix of it is just like they had this angst that naturally came with being young, but like being young and like alienated because there wasn't any coke to do. It was too rainy for like bonfire parties. The rain kept fucking sizzled and they finally get dude. Here's here's the origin. Here's the origin story. We can't do these fucking bonfires, man. 15-year-old Kurt Cobain finally gets invited to a party. And then it gets fucking rained out. And it's so it would have been like, what? This'll be the bonfire. Yeah, this is gonna be great, man. I'm gonna lose my virginity and this bonfire. This Aberdeen, Washington, adjacent, Olympia, Washington, whatever. The shadow in the shadow of Mount Rainier. I'm gonna get my fucking cherry popped in 1986. Yes. And then 87, and it's just like talk about slippery when wet. Nice. Yeah, man. Nice. Yeah, oh yeah. So um shout out uh Barb and and Matthias. Yeah. Mom and Dad. Mom and Dad. Barb and Matthias. Um, so like, great. So it's like, yeah, I know. Like Cobain is like getting that invite, you know, and he just shows up, and everyone shows up, but it's like they're like, they just all assume it's cancelled. They're like, what the fuck? And Cobain's just like, I was gonna go. I really will. My dad, I don't have like a good relationship with the family. It's like, I guess why I did start playing guitar, I had to have those notebooks, and it's just like that's like he didn't have in in another universe, in a in a warmer, like, or like a drier climate, yeah, or there's cocaine, or the music was better, not just late, late stage rock music. Terrible, terrible, pre-grunt, terrible. Aside from Guns N' Roses, fucking horrifically god-awful until those Seattle bands, right? So it was like in another universe, though, he he's not doing any like he goes to that and it's like days and confused bonfire type shit. It's like fucking 70s, everyone's fucking, everyone's sucking, everyone's quitting the football team, yeah. And there's no Nirvana. Yeah. And then it's like, so what happens with if there's no Nirvana, I would argue some of those other bands don't as good as they fucking were, they needed that like that explosion. You need to like to differentiate yourself from the other bands, and I don't think it wasn't exactly a rivalry, maybe a little bit between Cobain, one-sided Cobain and Turtle Jam, because I don't no one disliked it. I don't think they understood him. Yeah, but it's like I just like uh it's just I think that's the thing. I think it's pure climate base. So do you think like there's a there is a reverse of that where it's just like the climate prevents like somewhere in like sub-Saharan Africa? It's just like it's like the weather just created all these other scenarios where they've been you're like basic. I'm just picturing like people living like Tuscan raiders that otherwise would have been jamming, dude.
SPEAKER_03Dude, well they have they've you know the I've heard the best drummers come from uh some of our West African countries. Is that is that true?
SPEAKER_02Like Gone and Senegal or just pulling shit.
SPEAKER_03I'm just pulling shit.
SPEAKER_02Well, I pull shit, yeah. I know, but and then the heroin came later because it's like fucking it and was like life still fucking sucks, dude. The reason that with 90, early 1991 groovy puss, and it still sucked. Yeah, Von. Shave 90s pus, dude. Give me that. Pre-Lilla Fair, experimentally grown bush, ripe. We're talking, not young, we're talking, we're talking, we're talking old, we're talking 90. We're talking mom went to Woodstock, dad just left.
SPEAKER_03Dad doesn't know what he's doing, mommy.
SPEAKER_02It's great, and you're like, fuck this like grunge guy before he's big, and then that wasn't enough. Uh what else is that? Because you look at all of them, they all had like complicated relationships. Everybody like Jerry Crantrell, uh Elaine Staley, Cobain. I mean, so it's just like what's the next stage? It's like, oh fuck. I played music. We've done all the coke. I already know how to do it. Coke is gone.
SPEAKER_03Yeah, there's no more good Coke.
SPEAKER_02It's like we haven't invented cutting it. All of it went to the East Coast. Baby food. Yeah, and it's about to become crack powder, yeah, yeah. Yeah, about to become crack. No, crack was starting in the early 80s. Oh shit.
SPEAKER_03Okay. So at least in New York. They maybe it hadn't quite spread to the to uh to that.
SPEAKER_02And then eventually it's still we're still waiting for crack to spread to the Midwest.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, mid the they're they're gonna fight by Jovian.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, they're like, no. These like they're like, what? They're gonna get that, they're gonna open up that slippery win wet album. That uh trailer park boys are gonna start really popping up. Basically, yeah, they uh that's goddess.
SPEAKER_03No, I follow, I follow the um the the line and what you're laying down.
SPEAKER_02I think it's a theory, but I think it's an epic climate theory.
SPEAKER_03It's there is that like dearth of bonfire set of bonfires, number one. It was raining all the time. They couldn't get their bonfires going.
SPEAKER_02You ever see like that show The Killing? Yeah, yeah, it was so stupid because it's like they draw it out, but the atmosphere like, okay, cool, cool, and then it's just like, huh. Alright. Well, I can see how you draw this into a like always raining thing, but is it really like that? No, it rains a lot, but like it does rain. I I remember going home from school and you were gonna you can't play outside, and you get you're bored with it's like the Green Day when masturbation's lost, it's fine, right? And it's like you're fucking playing music, and it's like, but what if you'd go what if he was just like athletic enough to like play on the basketball team? Yeah, there's just like a lot of people.
SPEAKER_03There would have been no band, it would have been high school musical with Cobain instead of him singing. Well, he is singing, but then he's also shooting up and then. No, I mean alternate.
SPEAKER_02Cobain still would have killed himself, but it's like the alternate Cobain in a different climate, still still clearly divorced, fan, like broken home, artistic, but there's bonfire, so he's like having So he's like, okay, I can he where so he goes to like expression. He goes to like he goes to University of Washington, tries to be like a poet or some shit. And then what can he just like he probably jump out of a dorm or something? Maybe he just walks in front of a cat. The old-fashioned way. He reads too much Nietzsche. Dude, there's not is not reading enough Nietzsche. Dude, Nietzsche's like, it just lays it out. I mean, I I want to actually I study a little bit and then I like I was trying, I was making some references for this character and it like in a in Crawdays, and I was just like, but I need to actually really dive into because the nihilistic, like, okay, so a bel any belief system theoretically, if it doesn't lead to like confoundingly like dark actions, yeah. Like profound darkness and like violence. It's like is there such a thing as a belief, a set of beliefs or inclinations about the world, whether you invent it or you get it from fucking Nietzsche, like nihilism? Yeah. That is it inherently bad, like by nature?
SPEAKER_03No, I think it's what it's it's what we assign to it.
SPEAKER_02Like, right, I mean it's not like coded like with like hey, and they say like Old Testament or like Quran or whatever. Yeah. Shout out to the episode Colin Kaepernick kissing Muhammad. Uh you know, like that was a real episode. That was nice. That was a good one. Yeah, check it out. I don't remember a goddamn thing about it.
SPEAKER_01It was probably when Kaepernick was a thing. Uh not when he was trying to pretend like he wanted to play still just to get clout.
SPEAKER_03Anyways, he did that like four times. Yeah, there's a little one. Dude, that kind of sucks, man. His PR of like, oh, is Kaepernick coming back? Is trials with the dude?
SPEAKER_02Dude, Kaepernick, it I blame Kaepernick for George Floyd passing away. Anyways, continue. Um just like That's funny. One man yells, another can fall.
SPEAKER_03It's usually the way it goes.
SPEAKER_02Yeah.
SPEAKER_03So um usually it's the priest. What was I saying?
SPEAKER_02Oh fuck, get me out of this.
SPEAKER_03I'm falling down.
SPEAKER_02Oh no, it was the belief system. So you mentioned Nietzsche, and it's just like, I don't you could be a nihil. Like, I I actually kind of intellectually regard myself as essentially a nihilist. I mean intellectually I emotionally choose to lean for. I choose to connect, right? I I that's right.
SPEAKER_03The choice, like I think kind is kind versus nice. Making the making the choice to connect, I think, is always like I am disturbed.
SPEAKER_02Yeah. But I am kind. Yeah. I'm neither nice nor um. But nihilism at its like I'm not nice, I'm kind.
SPEAKER_03Is like you're willing to be nice, but you want you want to feel good.
SPEAKER_02You want to feel fulfilled is is part of but if you start with a baseline that's like there's not that's not like a thing, then actually you start to notice the things like feeling it's like, well, it's just like not what is like nothing is truly means anything inherently. That doesn't say there's not. I mean, I need to I need to study up more. Sorry, Nietzsche. No, no, no. The sentence of Nietzsche, which there weren't any, I don't think. Um it's what we assign to it, so it's like right, but you start with a baseline as like you have inherent, like there were like inherent moral truths, but I don't even believe in that. You have morals, morals and values. This is why I believe this way, by the way. It's my checkered work history, like reinforces these things. But like, nice, nice one, nice. Thank you. Oh man, you want to submit this coffee? I still haven't opened my DK my DK? Um DC, die coke. My tongue's getting a little bubbly. Oh, that was good. So, so I okay, I'm gonna I'll be real with the audience. The Laotian, the Vietnamese, um people in uh across the world. Wherever they are. Antarctic stations. Listening in. Listening, tuning in, just vi using their vibrator to this in their buttons. She's like, if you're using your sex toy and we're just like, we're the thing that you that you intend, we're like the perfect pitch to like intentionally zone out. Give us the we're like, we're like white noise, but like inverted white noise for your masturbatory sessions. And I hope you let I hope you I hope you edge. I bet they pulse edge. And then our 10 minutes when we just say bye. That's not a real bye, but it's like that's what we do. Just spoiler, and that's when you come. I hope they come when it's but and you can just right then. Boom basta. Whenever you want to. Boom basta. Alright, so I believe I believe that there are in fact no inherent oral truths. There are because truth is like means certainty, right? It's like how we talk about confidence. Like, you know, there's like if you just like hone in on a real definition, I don't think there's a moral truth. Because uh if there's a moral truth, is it as a universal truth? What about people are born psychopaths?
SPEAKER_00Well, it's more I think more pre-trauma psychopaths.
SPEAKER_03It's less of a moral truth than more of a moral moral right and wrong rather than moral truth. Because what are what are we getting at truth being?
SPEAKER_02Well, that there are inherent things that are morally proper or right and what you want. So that's the truth, is like that there is a judge uh a correct judgment objectively. Okay. Because I'd I vehemently disagree with that. I think people are sort of governed by like general like laws, but look how it's varied through time. There's people in modern day that you can stone women or stone whoever. For sure. You know, and it's like we got women got the right to vote in 1920.
SPEAKER_03Definitely like and they're still working on it within their countries. That's morally right. But absolutely.
SPEAKER_02Where does the law come from? It comes from it comes from religion. Religion, or where does religion come from? Is there a moral truth? Then why is there multiple? And like, why are they so different? Absolutely. So, like, for I mean, Islam is probably the best example of like what not to do. Well, distort like the idea of distorting, like the suppose if if two billion people or a billion and a half or whatever it is that at least partially subscribe or subscribe at gunpoint or whatever to that to that system, it's like if a fucking fourth of the world is engrossed in some fashion with that, and it runs diametrically opposed to like other systems so much, something's that you can just everyone's a quote unquote infidel, and you can just blow them up. Something's not adding up. Then how is there a moral truth? There isn't. That's and I think because it's like if everyone's like inherently immoral, it's like, no, dude. Like you can write one story and then like other like things, it's like a story leads to that type of art. Like, there's no moral moral truth is bullshit. It's a bullshit concept. It's like Schrodinger's moral truth. It's like Schrodinger's moral truth.
SPEAKER_03Schrodinger's morality or um I just like to say Schrodinger. I do, I do. It's I like him, but it was a what it was like I kind of stumbled over it, but no, it's it's every it's it's with the same idea of like, oh no, you're like, yeah, no, my my religion is the right one. You you're there's all these other gods out there, and you you believe that yours is the right one, but no mine.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, no, that's I feel like it's not secular humanism, because that sounds like bullshit. I I forget what you that's like some Vonnegut thing or something. I didn't invent it, but it hasn't written about it, I think, or written stories with that perspective. I don't believe in that either. I just think I don't really believe in that. I think there is right, it's fine. I do believe in something, but it's just I feel like there's inherent design that we're like we have the capacity, and some people's is clearly zero. The capacity to feel, to feel deeply, to feel like warmth or love or desire or like hope or or despair or like the desire to kill or like just some light arson. Yeah, just a little bit of degeneracy here and there. I feel like degeneracy is also more of like a reaction like a gradual action is what because degenerating is like decaying and it's a process, right? So it's like you dart somewhere and then you degenerate.
SPEAKER_03Right. I think it's also a term that's applied like relatively loosely by like a label, I don't know by society. It is. It's like we called it to degenerate exactly. That's like degenerate behavior.
SPEAKER_02It's like there's no such thing as a degenerate thought if you have a moral treat, right? talking about things that there's thoughts that you should objectively probably not feel great about. Right. But that doesn't mean like you even if it comes off as a screaming impulse, if it never becomes an action, it's okay to have the thought itself, right? Yeah, yeah. I mean, we want to go into some of those, but like a safe one is obviously like murder type shit. Like that's fine. We'll we'll stick with that. It's like that's in the Bible. That's right.
SPEAKER_03I mean, and there's even there's even some topics, there's even some topics that we will kind of not like tiptoe around on here, but like like joke about like the word or something, and it's like, okay, and like we can keep it there. Like we don't need to like go into those things, and that just comes from like an inherent, I think, place of knowing, not necessarily right from wrong, but like yeah, yeah, yeah. Like just there is no right, there's no right things that don't feel like it's just doesn't feel comfortable.
SPEAKER_02Why a person might feel icky about something completely different? And it's yeah, from the Ugs and Gamble Charlie's Therone. Charlie's Therone. Ugh. Oh, exactly. Pig! What a pig. Um which was on that fucking call and daddy podcast, you know. I know, I think I know what you're talking about. What a joke, dude. Women just listen. These people gotta stop listening to slop. Listen to us. Right. Wait a minute, listen to us. Um, but like Charlize Thrones going that, and then she was talking, and no, no, it was the subway takes as well. And then the subway takes thing is when she was just like that's kind of an annoying.
SPEAKER_00It's fine.
SPEAKER_02Well, it's like when it's like it's people's Keontages. But when they get bigger guess, you're like, why? None of the takes. Like Charlize Theron is not fucking Keanu Russian. She's not ever, yeah. She's not on the subject. She's not going to subject people that's a few. The kids that she tried to pass off as transient, despite that, she just like took them from another country. Oh, you're my kids now. I mean, I know that's like ma'am, you need to feel up to her pick. But it was just like, no, they're mine, and also it's a girl. And it's like, whoa, Charlerie's Thereon, like, cool, cool it with this shit. Yeah. Because that's like listen to this. You're not like exactly. Madonna earned Madonna already. She fucking gyrated on that stage. You played Snow White's mom.
SPEAKER_03I didn't see those hips move 360. No, she hadn't done shit. Fucking maybe a hundred.
SPEAKER_02Oh, you played a serial killer, but you had to put a fat suit on. Dude, I would believe current day Charlie is a serial killer. First of all, her mom killed her dad. Which is fucked. Which is fucked. Well, I mean, it was that was self-defense enough that she wasn't charged.
SPEAKER_00Was she like, oh, this gave me enough of the personal background to really channel?
SPEAKER_02Oh, here's the thing. I want an Oscar, too. I want an Oscar, goddamn it. But here's the thing that she shoved that up, I don't know. Or threw me off, was that she was just like, oh, don't say you make love or this and that. Just talk to me. It's like, lady, you're fucking 50 years old. Don't fucking know. You have adopt you you adopt some kids. It's like There's a difference between being sexy or still a sex symbol that other people have placed on you and people willing to still have sex with you and still talk to you. Right. And I feel like she's a weird, like goes the other way. Like the axis gets thrown out of abortion. But why for her? I don't know why she does. Because of the things she says. I didn't know this until just not that long ago, but they get when they become less. I haven't seen that. That's gotta be recent. No, it's she was just like, don't fuck. It's like gross. It's like, dude, who's watching these? Like young people are watching.
SPEAKER_03You're trying to make yourself you're like fronting the sexiness. That is weird.
SPEAKER_02It's like, but especially if you if you put the backstory with it. It's like one interview she's talking about her mom killing her dad, and the next one she's like just fuck me. Oh I wonder if there's a connection.
SPEAKER_03Yeah, maybe uh you you ever tried you ever uh tried Debbie?
SPEAKER_02We got your documents. Maybe that's guess maybe that's a guy wearing sunglasses on the sidewalk. Here's my next guess. Did he take his like his sunglasses off, and then you feel you see his like weird, cool eyes just slowly die? She's like, just fuck me. It's she's like fuck me. And you can tell he's like, yeah, it's uh but he's always like, oh my god. He's like, wow, I can't believe I got Sharice thrown on the side. No, it's like she was uh the uh the lady, she became the lady that she played, Elaine Wydros or whatever. That wasn't Wadros. Elaine Wornos? Wornos. That was the devil's the Wornos came out of that shit.
SPEAKER_03She um also like one of the few serial killers that was like kind of She was Dexter, right? Kind of made into what she was. Dude, most of them kind of were.
SPEAKER_02It's it's a big parents. It's a mixed bag. Right. No, the psycho- Oh, they go ties in the moral the paradox of does morality inherently exist.
SPEAKER_03Right. Or like what I think what about do you think I think there's definitely like nurture versus nature. Oh yeah, oh yeah.
SPEAKER_02That's that's huge, but people come out baked a certain way. Exactly. They come out seasoned and then they they either get cooked or you eat and brought are you gonna are you gonna like you know how it how cheap massage around eats some fucking raw, obviously. Just fuck me! Just eat it. Dude, I've never even thought that way. Because I was like, so my butt, Joe, like he was accused of being, this is hilarious, like a face toucher. Oh no. In an accusatory thing. I feel like you're like a face toucher. By like a woman? Yeah. Somebody was sleeping with. It might have been a squirter, and it might have been the girl that was a squirter that had a lot of people. What's wrong with being a face toucher? Exact. There you go. That's I mean, but I was like, oh my god, yeah. Well, it's like weird if you don't at least try. Touch. I'm gonna touch you. I'm gonna fuck you like a love you.
SPEAKER_03I don't want to not touch your face.
SPEAKER_02I don't probably even want to fuck you, but it's like, or I don't want to be there, but it's like if I'm there, I'm gonna be a I'm gonna be human about it. I'm gonna use my hands. I'm gonna go.
SPEAKER_00My hands are gonna touch your goddamn face. They're going all over. It's like wherever they want. Yeah, they're wherever they want. Within reason. Within reason. They're going in my mouth.
SPEAKER_03Yeah.
SPEAKER_00I'm gonna shove my fist in.
SPEAKER_02I just want to touch your face so I can get your cheek foundation and then suck it off my own fingers. I won't. While you wither off of me and call me an Uber. Please. I'm gonna melt my face. An Uber pool, and like, I'm putting this fucking down. You touch my face. You can go in an Uber pool. Don't judge me. Dude, you'll never understand every person. I'll just again about hitting on someone just lazily in an Uber pool. I got a number and I was like, she doesn't want to give me this number. But it's I don't think I ever texted because I was like the implication. Nobody might Sonny. No, it was just like, well, I really went through the motions on that, but I still got it. But I was like, yeah, did you text her?
SPEAKER_03I don't I can't remember because it was like during my uh just the here's the redo guy from the dark I am.
SPEAKER_02I when I get like $9.19 of gas, I'm like, I think about how bleak the year 919 was. You're like man in the world, right? They must have really been shit. I just think about like the black death. I'm like, I can't afford a full tank of gas. And this is before Iran or it's just like I can't afford a full full thing of gas. Also, wow. I guess at least I'm not in the year of Black Death. Like, or even like I'm not a peasant, and like I guess I have a car. I mean, yeah. But it's like, yeah, uh I I mean that's dark, obviously. And then I I remember telling a psychiatrist my ex-psychiatrist. My ex. It's just been like, yeah, man, I it was just my ex. That's all my exes are psychiatrists that I paid for. That's all. Or someone paid for. Um, it was just like, yeah. So I had this like I would say it's a straight thought, but it's like a recurring thought now. I just like I'm like, I buy a thing, and then I just think about all the packaging and then all the people, all the like barely paid for labor that went in the packaging and how they felt, and how like the origin of suffering. I was just like my mind just keeping it. And it was just like, dude, he should have been like, bro, I don't this is not working. Like, my style is not working. I'm gonna try to switch things up, but it was just like that to me was just like, whatever this medication is doing, I'm going, I'm thinking about the fucking Middle Ages while I'm pumping gas. And I'm thinking about like fucking Chinese, like factories where shit is packaged and not even sewn. He's like, I really just get crazy. And if someone had it worse, I'm like, who had this worse? Who is the deepest, darkest, worse origin point of whatever this thing I bought and don't want?
SPEAKER_03Is this is this dot of of of red paint on the corner of this pro is that blood? Is this blood from from G Lang?
SPEAKER_02This is like This is G Lang's blood. This is G. Lang's period blood, right before they hung her. Oh, God. For like surviving the calling of women. All she did was when they were just picking boys, and that's why I didn't know.
SPEAKER_03She's just trying to write to her her son enjoy your lunch, and they stole her letter and stole her life.
SPEAKER_02And it's like, is it the I mean it's like, and I think this was even before people, the stories were coming out about the suicide nets on the fucking factories. This is like pre-suicide net, and I'm like ahead of the curve. I saw a video the other day of someone jumping off of a person.
SPEAKER_03And it was in America. A uh no, god no, it was not. It was clearly, we don't make it anymore.
SPEAKER_00We don't we don't have to outsource everything. Yeah.
SPEAKER_03But this was this uh this uh tech, if you will, this uh safety net installer tech was giving it quite the thorough uh examination for the uh owners of the window.
SPEAKER_02Oh no, that was for the the building, right?
SPEAKER_03Yeah. What the fuck is wrong with that guy? Fucking insane dude. Did he bouncing off of it like a garbage? But did he have like anything? Nope. Dude. Someone died doing that in the US Testing it? Testing a skyscraper window, and like these people were in the back and he's like, hey, check this out. And he had to be. He had oh god, that's dark. He uh he threw threw his desk chair into the window. Okay, and it shatters, and he like fell out through like the air.
SPEAKER_02Oh, the air sucked him out, like an airplane?
SPEAKER_03Like, or no, maybe it wasn't his chair. He threw throws himself into the window. He's like, hey, check this out. But he had done it a couple times before. This time it was like enough of a stress crack. Well, they do say third time's a charm. And he was the tester? Uh he was not, but he was that day.
SPEAKER_02Well, he wasn't the tester. That's why you need the tester. See, that guy saw a market opportunity. He's like, hey, can I get Bob up here? Do you know you know like that picture of the people on the fucking skyscraper beam? Yeah. Having lunch, yeah. Them bologna sandwiches. That's probably like their great grandson who came like a like a baby falling out the window tester of like overpriced skin.
SPEAKER_03He's like, look how far skyscraper. My loins.
SPEAKER_02It's like a skyscraper in Jacksonville. He's like, you're like, no, why didn't I move to Jacksonville? And they're like, ah, bullying! You disgrace me. It's just like made of like the you know, that's the the the the type of material that's in the trampoline parks or the kids' birthday parties. Dude, they're working both sides of the aisle. That's the same fucking material. Dude, we need to invest in that material. Not a bad idea.
SPEAKER_03Help me jump out of my debt. Just you have a lot of debt? No, no, no, really.
SPEAKER_02Oh, so work. Work, right? Where are we at? Oh, yeah, we're gonna talk about work. Okay. Real quick. Maybe 10 minutes. Maybe five. Yeah, yeah. You know. Um, so you know, as listeners don't know, we met at a job. Yes, we did. Working with children. Jobs. Increasing. And then, you know, and the and then the movie version that you're trying to create is like your character that's based a character that's based off you asks, a character that's based off me that's older, that's like, why the fuck? Who hired this guy? And then you're like, oh shit, I got I I fucked up. I like scraped something on the bus in the parking lot or whatever. They're gonna drug test me. Can I have your piss? We need it. Stop it. The can I have your piss character introduction of a body comedy, right? Yeah. Daycare. It's really gonna work. It is it's a great title. Uh, you know. I like that. It's a great working title. I think it's anyway, so that's our origin. It was 2019, and so I had been working through for that organization which would not be named at the moment. Um at all. Uh pending further review resolution review. Um, I'm uh I'm on I'm on paid leave, right? So um, great. It's kind of paid, but like the rest of it was I've never really I didn't do this for the money. They owe yes and no. I did it to try to connect to the world. Why I continue to do also the not the learned help assist, but the learned like fucking um I don't matter. That maybe that's where the nihilism actually more so developed, not nearly from like the home or upbringing, or even like school, because there's these like that's not taught in school. The hierarchy is inherent and it's learned very quickly by the intelligence.
SPEAKER_03And I was intelligent, I was just gonna if you're yeah, you if you're reading between the lines in school, you you can learn that pretty quickly.
SPEAKER_02Like when you're socially like aware but not socially comfortable. Yeah. Like if I was socially comfortable, yeah, I would have known I could get along with just about anybody. That's a great way to put it. And it's like I feel like if you can't at least find some way to get along with me, or at least like give me an opportunity like, you know what, I was a little rough on you or something. Like I'm intelligent enough about that shit. Right. And it's like, then it's I feel like it's a them thing. But you don't feel that way growing up and learning about the world and your place in it. You go maybe you're in college and you ask someone after a class on the telephone, and they say, eh, I'm gonna watch, I'm watching Gilmore Girls that night. Oh, fuck. And then you're just like, uh, one time I was also at a party and I was a freshman. I was like, you know, you just hear the song like picture of the year 2000, and it's like, who let the dogs out? And I look around, and people are dry humping in tune with the whoo, hoo, hoo. And I was just like, I'm basically a social scientist that never didn't study, but like didn't like pursue a graduate degree, but I'm like, I have the in-tune awareness of like, and that was one of those moments I was like, oh, I'm crazy. Weird. Is anyone else? Like, I would it's like the world froze. I'm like watching these like it was like chinpanzees, like like hopped up on probably spiked Blood Light or Keystone or whatever the fuck in a dirty base, dirty fragments.
SPEAKER_03He's an alcoholic.
SPEAKER_02Right, and just like roaring on each other, the Bahama.
SPEAKER_03I was just like The Bahaman.
SPEAKER_02And I'm like, I think I knew then I would leave that place a virgin. Because I'm people are embracing this, and I'm just like, this same I think it might have been the same day. I was like, there was a girl I was standing against a wall, it was very cute, but I was like, oh hey, it's like do you do you want to dance? And I was not prepared for this response, no fuck off, right? Yeah, sure. Any of those things, okay. Uh I can't. I just had knee surgery, and I was like, does not compute, because I'm like, Because there was enough of me that like she made it up. Yeah, I guess. You know, and it's just like right, but it's just like, oh my god, and then it's like at the same time, like a future me telling that version of me is like, wow, what's wrong with you that you didn't just be like, oh, that's alright. You might just like hang nice and cool. Yeah, can I can I talk to you for a little bit? Yeah, yeah, you know, it's like, oh, how'd you do it? Just being like you're gonna be able to do it. No, I think it was just like did you do this? And she's like, I played that. I was like, Okay, bye. And just like limping away to get like a dick in my back to like the end of a Bahama and song. You're like, who can I who can I ask to humble? Right, right, basically, and it's and then you like learn you're not this was the era where like you could still just like just thrust. Oh yeah. But I felt weird about it, and it's okay, it's not because I'm inherently there's no moral truth, but I was just like, it's weird to be like just to not read the the person. Because you'd be like, huh? What do you think? And like you're like, I I can look at your eyes, the sheer, terror, and panic. First off, this doesn't exist anymore, I don't think. Maybe in foreign countries.
SPEAKER_03The the humping fad fad the humping outside of college.
SPEAKER_02Do people not hump?
SPEAKER_03Dude, the humping the humping fad was very much alive and well in my freshman year. By sophomore year, they put a kibosh on it. Well, I think it just fell out of style. How does it fall out of style?
SPEAKER_02This is why we're dying. It's a certain breed of like horny, and I think. No more it's like a party. They're dancing.
SPEAKER_03They stop. There were a lot of whites. It was less parties. I think I just went to less parties, so I was not humble. Did you go to less parties than me? I was how often do you go to a party? Not that often. I went to two every three weeks or something. If you take away the club soccer parties, not many. You can't take away like a cool club party.
SPEAKER_02Well, it's I come on, dude. I like we went in trains of 15 guys and two girls.
SPEAKER_03That was me until I had that. Like I was counts.
SPEAKER_02If you took away club soccer types invented humping, also, probably Roofies. Like definitely the second one. So I mean I'm pretty sure it was the Roofies or Hip Mot was developed on a soccer table. I thought I felt somewhere in the world.
SPEAKER_03I felt too cool. Not like too like too cool to hump. I it felt a dry felt below me.
SPEAKER_02Dry humping is so beneath.
SPEAKER_03It did. And like not in purposefully, it was just like, I'm not gonna do that. I'd rather like rather go up and like strike out to a girl right to her face rather than try and get behind her first and you know touch her.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, but like you had an advantage. They were like, okay, because it either feels awful or kind of good, I'm sure, yeah. Immediately. Yeah. One or two responses. And if you I'm sure most of them. Either way, no, either way, if they turn around and it's your face and your height, and you're not, you're not your tongue's not out or something. They're like, oh, it doesn't get worse. Yo, it's most of the time. No, the before you start talking, that's obviously when it gets worse. But like specifically, I'm thinking like 19-year-old Patrick and like the 2015s, like just like fucking like it was it was some bad energy. Right. Bad energy. Well, I mean, dude, it's like I know what to say. 15 years after I was a freshman, how much so much so much anxiety degradation and de uh degeneration of the world. There's so much indecision.
SPEAKER_03What to say? Like the drugs and the alcohol were like to mask and to like help aid in what I thought to be able to like feel confident in my ability to call that.
SPEAKER_02Those alcohol's for it. They did at some point. Social lubricant within a short time frame. It was like great.
SPEAKER_03It was like, you know, those old like uh it's I want to say like moving, it's some sort of photography of like where uh shot motion. Two frames are like moving over each other and oh yeah yeah yeah, like Star Wars shit. Uh like and you just kind of catch it. Like kind of kind of 007 intro, uh, where like in some of the intro, and it's not where he like shoots you, but it's like in when they're going over each other, they they're yeah, yeah.
SPEAKER_02I should know this on some type of mise en bullshit.
SPEAKER_03Like I can't get the words, but you know, you know exactly what I'm talking about. Right, like yeah. Me and these parties and social that's how you felt? In like we're like lining up, it's like it's like no, it's just like the drug itself, the like the effects doesn't matter, but that's what I'm like the anxiety and like my confidence. It's like it would line up in these moments of like, okay, like in that crossing over each other, that might be 30 minutes. That might be an hour and a half. No, I understand something. I get charged.
SPEAKER_02I thought that was like a drug effect. I feel like maybe everyone experiences their anxiety in a different way. There's like a different like cinematography effect. Yeah. Like different camera effects.
SPEAKER_03That's a good I the way I was thinking of it in my head is.
SPEAKER_02You might for me it was like described to my my I would feel it. Psychologist is like the squeeze when I get like anxious.
SPEAKER_03I would feel small. It would, I would really like it would make sense. That's what you feel. You're like you're I know I'm a taller person. Yeah, so much of it's mental, dude. But you're like, well, you're like, but that's it. Like, that's not it. I know it's not, but it's uh it's different.
SPEAKER_02I mean, I know the types of people that are from well, American youth in general, really. Well, in this from this area, the people that go to the school that you first attended, and it's just like, yeah, man, um I think like well, like back end millennials from this area, like that just like in the post, like it wasn't as competitive because no one cared as much anymore, and everyone's going through motions. Right. I can't imagine it was very much fun. Not in to be like a t a young person when you were not when I really didn't know what I was doing. I mean, I really No, because I feel like that wasn't no one had to choose anyone. Like it was just like, oh, you pick a lane and you just you're told there's a job and but you but it's different when you play fucking you play sports, right? It's like oh I'm sports and then I'll figure it out. Yeah. Because no one steers you off a thing you're good at. It's like if you're really good at a sport, they're not like you need to be as long as you're doing your homework and they you seem smart, they're like, they don't, they're not gonna be like, you know, you're not doing these equations, you're not learning enough equations. You need to make it a few more than a few. You need to be a scientist. It's like they're like going to your games and shit. Yeah, and I mean soccer, soccer was what it was.
SPEAKER_03I mean, sports was what it was into it creates a fall, it creates a false world for sure.
SPEAKER_02That it takes a lot to wake up from, but it's also on the front end, I would imagine you have more to combat than natural anxieties of the world because people are maybe giving you praise, you're maybe fitting into worlds that you might not have, whether you want to or not, like a little easier because it's like, well, that guy just made that save or he made that shot. Yeah, or it's like I I picked him for a kickball, and I was like the guy that's like so I should have been fucking first, and it's like I had that like Napoleonic like rage. Yeah, I threw basketballs at people's heads more than once in high school. I kicked my uh they didn't have one after 10th grade.
SPEAKER_03I kicked my uh teammates' basketball uh in sixth grade out into the snow. That's amazing.
SPEAKER_02Dude, that's what that's what life is for. It's like chicken basketball. If you can't, if you're not if you're a male and you're not just at some point, I just like just had a had a they call them crash outs now. I did it was in my personality. I don't it wasn't a crash out then, right? And I've seen like I wouldn't call that one a crash out play set. We were I was just like, but it's like you know, like I don't think you should do that while you have your work show on. Yeah, that was a little bit definitely good advice. It's like good advice, definitely good advice. Yeah, good advice, but it's like it's like I feel like only recently and this next the last few minutes of this show, because I were probably getting tired. But yeah, it's fine. There's no audience already. There's no audience, it's fine. You're awake. Stay up, Loch. Laos, god damn it! We love you, Laushans.
SPEAKER_03I'm sorry, we're sorry.
SPEAKER_02Sorry. Uh I know what you were trying to say. You didn't do it. It's impressive. Um, so we are sorry. We are very sorry. This is American voice. This is American voice. Midwestern American voice. Yeah, Laoshan American. Um American Laotian. Midwestern. Midwestern American Laotian hybrid. Um, what was they saying? Fuck shit!
SPEAKER_03That I was full of rage and while I was like, Napoleon, Napoleonic rage where you don't not get first picked first.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, no, it's just like that was my personality. It's like, oh yeah, sports. Uh and like, oh, um, you know, trying to tell you like a thing, and I feel like just recently, especially, well, you're going through stuff, and I'm now going through stuff, it's like realizing where this, like I that I have data that there's like data points to back up, and that's the whole reason I wanted to talk about finish with the work stuff, because it's just like no, this is where this like attitude or like it's an awareness. It's also it's like some inherent nihilism, I'm sure, from very young of just being like feeling so different, yeah, but also and just like not really seeing the point beyond just wanting to win. Like I had that like we talked about before, like Michael Jordan mentality. But not an ability in that at all.
SPEAKER_03But that mentality is part of like is half of what made him him.
SPEAKER_02It was more than half of it. But he also had that body. The body. But it's like I don't have that body, but I understand. And when the moment I realized I didn't understand until his like Hall of Fame speech, like, holy shit, this guy is a small man. He's a small man at some level, but also got it. I was like, yeah, I would have thought about doing that. It's not, it is, it's not, it's like humility is like he exists outside the concept of humility. Because it's not aware of it. To some extent. No, he's like, it's about destroying you. And it's not about winning, it's about also destroying the other person. And I understand that. Yeah. And I I know, like, I've worked, I'm surprised I've not had, to be honest, more workplace incidences. I think for myself last long enough at companies. Otherwise, I definitely would have. Because it took a while, I'm sure, for social masking to catch up to like not fitting in, not knowing what I was doing. ADHD that I did was not aware of. Yeah. Run through the history. Look, worked at a library. Nice. I I would like to hide in the stacks and like pocket pool myself, reading a dating for dummies book at 17. Virgin. You were getting hard, but it was getting hard. But it was after I had talked about I my made out for the first time do uh Mambo number five. Great song. Great song.
SPEAKER_03I had a nice little jingle.
SPEAKER_02I was pretty good on the text. That was I could read after if we wanted to.
SPEAKER_00No, later. Later. Okay, later.
SPEAKER_02Keep it going. Keep it going. Keep it going. And this was like first off. And I was just like, because it was like, you know, group like relatively comfortable, but it's also like not, I wasn't doing a bunch of stuff, so it's not like I didn't have the impetus to like go do like work at uh fast food or whatever. Yeah. But it was eventually you should probably like, you know, I'm gonna get a job. Maybe check check. But it was just like no, I'd rather go to the mom was a librarian, so it was like, okay, that's fine. But I was like, no, but it was the isolation and then the repetitive stuff, and it was but I was losing my mind, and I had no idea. How long were you there? A couple months in the summer, and like I quit by September of my senior, and I was just like, Do I need I did ask, like, do I need to do this? They're like, What do you mean? I was like, I really want to. And then I didn't have a job in college except for the summers, because it was like, Oh, you should be focusing on your school work, which is also true, but it's like, is that that's as far as privilege, that was obviously certain, like in some ways, very much a privilege, but in other ways, I wasn't learning fast enough how um different and fucked up my insides were my brain and like not being able to like that's important to like clash with the world and understanding, yeah. And this is in this is still not known. I didn't know about ADHD's about 41, right? So which isn't your own fault. Like, that's no, but it's it's I mean, it's my fault for doing well enough in school that and not being out of the way. Look, look, I just like yeah, I was just as like energetic inside as these people, especially if you get me in the gym. I was just fucking flying around. Yeah, god, I was flying around throwing basketballs at people. And just being mad in gym class, even in elementary school, because it's like I didn't understand gym class. I didn't understand it though. I didn't like competing. And I saved it up for like the neighborhood, and there was a lot of like fights in the neighborhood shit. I was overbeing describing Napoleon's childhood almost exactly.
SPEAKER_03Which I just I I get the more like the guy from Falling Dead. It's a lot of like, hey, no, this is what we're doing, and this is what we're doing now, and like, hey, no, this is my thing, this is what we're doing.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, but I didn't act up with like grown-ups. I was just I don't understand, like, so it's like I don't understand, like, even sitting in the desk, it's like you just didn't, but it's like it's weird. If I was like worse behaved, my whole life would have been probably better, but with a lower ceiling of where I am now. It's like so crazy. That makes sense. So there's just no true path for everyone, just as though there was no moral truth, universal moral truth. So library, fuck that. I did work at uh something that was like politics adjacent, um, and that's I inadvertently met my writing partner through a Polish guy that we both knew that through the Polish guy that we both knew.
SPEAKER_03So that's like while you were working there, yeah.
SPEAKER_02It was like the next year, like after college, I had reconnected with a couple of those folks, and this Polish guy was at a poker game and I was writing a poker story, and blah blah blah. I met this dude, my writing partner, and yes, still my writing partner. Fucking great. But like shout out, Joe, and then I worked um some temp jobs. I worked at one that was like a contractor, and I found I tried to get on a different department, and I was there was one guy that was in charge of me, and he was my direct supervisor. I was at I've always had an issue for the most part with direct supervisors, as you know, things. And it's not, it's just and I I swear to twice, it's not an arrogance thing, it's just a lack of baseline. My my baseline respect for human human beings as individuals, probably higher than most. My respect for humanity, or my I said, my understanding of what humanity really is, like that people that we really are.
SPEAKER_03I think that drives sometimes, and correct me if I'm wrong, but drives that like kind of lower base of like when you have these interactions with people.
SPEAKER_02Well, it's like you're trapped in a thing, and you're like, Oh fuck, we're not even the same species, we're in this cage, and you're and you're in charge of when I get my food, basically. That's how I would see it. Yeah. Um, and I just remember this was this guy, something Chang, and it was like, he was fat, and he was just passive, and he would say a thing, and I just was this like, no, I just I'm not gonna I don't want to do that or something. And it was just a no respect. But it didn't start that way. It's just like I learned quickly, and it was like, yeah, I don't want to be here, but I know I needed to work, and I didn't because I had no understanding of the ADHD or what works with someone that has that, like connecting, I didn't know you could just connect and get the same or more money than the shitty money I was making to be in a place lowly where I didn't want to be there and continue getting low. I mean I remember fucking being in a mail cart, passing a mail cart around the like the day after Virginia Tech Massacre. I'm like, here's your corporate mail, and I'm just thinking about killings, like mass killings. And you're like, what am I fucking doing? Like, come on, I'm thinking about Combine and thinking about oh, my good of family members, I could have gone to that school, like I would have been alumni of this, and it was just like here's your mail, here's your mail, here's your man. And this is like your inner office on Pass on inner office memos, and it's like, well, that was the mail kind of took a while today. I was like, bro, wow, it's it's April 21st or whatever. You know, it's just like you like you.
SPEAKER_03Did you get a comment like that though? That would have been a good idea.
SPEAKER_02I think I could have no, I know what you mean, but like But I was also the same uh place, it wasn't all bad. Like I I uh I was I went from like the you know, the the reception and sometimes mailing to like the full herald thing. Yeah, one guy said uh this is great, dude. These are the other type of stellar people I was working alongside, not for though those bosses were cool. But the purse, this one guy was just like he he did something and he's admitted to doing it out of spite to another like a like a department in in in a male in a mailing capacity and like a facilities and mail room capacity. He's like, what did you um did you do that? Or why why why did this happen? It's like spite. I was like, oh my god. And I remember the boss just like just like just like trying to stop himself laughing. It's like, yeah, I man, I you can't work here, like like you have to like he's like, yeah, I see it. And it was just like the cleanest, like, like firing of all time. But I remember being like, wow, that was I was like, that was uh this is pretty bad. But that was a place like dude. I when I left there, there were I had like hid just work envelopes and things of just from the in like memos from like different like buildings across the country that came in. I would just like hit him in a I hit him in a cabinet. But it was just like I couldn't like fat, I it was like ADHD and like losing my mind and being creative and not being doing this or doing enough writing, and just like bum, bam, bow, and just not fit like square peg, triangle peg in a fucking brow hole, you know. I don't you're like, I don't this I'm trying to like try my chop parts of my being off but like literally like and like I would feel so and I didn't know until like you have to be like removed from that show. I was like, you know what? I think I that was my best, at least of what that was, and that sucks to do it like 50 times. Like I worked at so many places.
SPEAKER_03I mean, there are feeling of like that was me putting effort in and it's I jacked off at fucking terrible, yeah.
SPEAKER_02I think I've jacked off the first one, not the library. Actually, well, I played pocket pool that doesn't count.
SPEAKER_03I think I've jerked off. I have not shirt.
SPEAKER_02I'm jerked off like this child as a teenager playing part pocket pool, like in the stacks. I was like, no one's looking at the nonfiction. Ooh. And is does does dating for dummies qualify as authentic nonfiction? Where are the Dewey Decimal systems? Where are the dating for dummies? Where are the It was an actual book? It was year 1999. Talk about like how to unhook a bra. Right, and it's just like what the fuck was it? It's just like how fucking abjectly devastatedly lonely does someone have to be to read dating for dummies as a teenager on the clock.
SPEAKER_04You know what I mean?
SPEAKER_02And that was one of the upper echelon jobs I've had. That's that sounds like a perk of the job. Is it a perk? Yeah. Can you imagine popping perks? Popping perks and popping pussies in the popping in the or just like imagine all the pussy are gonna pop now that you read the dating for dummies collection. And then you cream real quick.
SPEAKER_00Is there a sequel? You cream real quick.
SPEAKER_02I put it on hold. You're like, I need volume two now.
SPEAKER_00Fuck it.
SPEAKER_02And I know, I know where the holds are coming. You're like, Sue, I need to take a break. Sarah, I need a I need a goddamn break. And I'm like, I mean, there were times, oh, this is the kicker, dude. I should you know what? This is a great place to to leap into, like, and probably sign out soon. But listen to this, dude. I've told you about my next neighbor. It was like one of them was a complete delinquent, the others had modern slavery. Oh, yeah. So the delinquent family. I hear it. This Garburger, Louis, love ya. Call me. Um, but he had like at this point been expelled, and he was okay. So let this, I'll set the table real quick. We're gonna stop. I swear, Laos, um in the Midwest. That's all our all our listeners are Vietnam, Laos in the Midwest.
SPEAKER_03That's right. It's all our big bangers.
SPEAKER_02Big bangers, um, bangers only, Midwestern bangers, man. Um, so so this dude, um, you know, we grew up together-ish, and you know, but he had starting astray by middle school. He was hanging out with the bad crowd. Oh no, you know, like his cousin, he had a cousin that was bad news, and then there was his night. A couple of those, I think they were like twin guys, and they were both bad. Me too. Me too, honestly. And and I have enough cousins that I shouldn't be. I have like 25 cousins, but I'm like, I'm the darkest or second darkest. I'm not sure if you're not a black sheep on both.
SPEAKER_03I'm not a black sheep, but it's just like I think I am.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, I'm not saying you are. I mean, I've had people punch out on purpose, so it's like you can't, it's just like sort of on purpose. That doesn't count. Um that was like a anyway, different story. Well, like, okay, so like my neighbor, this is ADHD. It's like now that I'm aware of it, I stopped caring and trying. I still try to rein it in, but it's like, alright, so my neighbor, I mean, this dude fucking fifth grade chased me around a fucking crossbow around my neighbor. A little shit crossbow? Yeah, a little miniature one, but a fucking crossbow. Fuck that. Fuck that. And it was just I remember, I think I remember I feel like I remember telling my parents I have to find out when they get back from Utah's on Uh. Hey, do you remember that time uh Louis Chase has around a crossbow? Did I tell you that? I bet. And did you still let us play with him? Oh no. But it was just like what are the alternative? There's no like I quit scouts by that point, so it's just like, look, like you, we try to put you in these things, no one likes you. It's like let's be clear, let's be clear, unless you're organizing them to play sports in which you also fight with them or yell at them or try to control the events, like no one's playing with you, so we have to like allow you to play with this guy that's murdering you with a crossbow. The crossbow, exactly. You're like, look, man, like most of the things the entities you know are stuffed animals. And I was like, stuffed animals, younger brother, shout out to the biggest.
SPEAKER_03I was a big stuffed animal guy, dude.
SPEAKER_02I wish I could still play with him. Well, every time, you know, working with when I was working with kids, it was just like, dude, I kind of want to just hang out with like a shit.
SPEAKER_03I always feel like a dick for making them put their stuff easy, too. I was like, dude, we can't do it now.
SPEAKER_02But I'm just yeah. I'm like, I'm gonna bite this thing's fucking head off. Anyways, I've got to be cooler about that. I can't. There's no, there's not, it's like there's no way to be cool about it because it's like sucks. The only way to know is to like to figure out who really needs them as a communicating thing, and then which ones do, and it's and then be like, look, but then you can't play favorites. Dude, life is about playing favorites. It is, but you can't. I know this is a non-favorite outside of the home. It's just like, dude, like I am not society's choice, and I'm okay with it. It's like, and that's not even where the nihilism comes from. I'm good with third place. It's no even if it's top two. Inherent nihilism. Top top one. Don't even we saw the trophy is a thing is another episode. Oh, so Louis Louis um ended up crossbow, and it was I was like fifth grade.
SPEAKER_01I was like, oh, okay, fine.
SPEAKER_02And then we had some fights. I remember I I made him bleed once. Oh, yeah. And it was like I hit him in the mouth. Probably not very hard.
SPEAKER_00And then you ran on.
SPEAKER_02With my yeah, I ran. Oh no, it was just like, no, his he started bleeding out as a retainer got he's like retainer-induced blood from my light punch. Nice. And then he just like snarled at me and pushed me. And I was like, okay, bye! You know, and then we're fine. But then fast forward, he's in like fucking tenth grade. I don't really, you know, we're not we don't see each other much, you know, because I had played basketball elsewhere after school. We weren't going out in the driveway. And that's where I got my game as like playing against him. But, anyways, um, so he he gets in trouble in school. I think he'd already like stolen something. I think he stole a fucking Nintendo Zile, finally went down with the wall. Stole a fucking like N64, like breaking in some loser twins that he knew.
SPEAKER_03What a dumbass. It's almost like stupid.
SPEAKER_02But it's only because his parents were like working so hard. Because they were like immigrants that fire the lamb on the porch in the 80s. Like they actually did that. This neighborhood is lit, dude. I wish it was still as lit as straight up Passover? Did you get blood on your door? Like, fucking. Yeah, no, it was it. So they're Palestinian Christian. And yes, that is a thing. And yes, they were persecuted, I'm no doubt. I'm fucking okay. But it's also fucking hilarious because they weren't. No one was like gonna there's no internet in 1988. So you're not gonna like, hey, is this shit are we is there another way to express this? Is this illegal? Is this meaning they had like these people over here like from three, four families ago, were like born again, like oh yeah, the Bearmans, you know? Oh no. One of them was kind of hot.
SPEAKER_03Hey, we're we're trying to be on board with this as much as we're gonna be. No, but they were like, eh, culture clash.
SPEAKER_02And it's like these fucking slaughter the land. Hey, have you heard of hepatitis B in your life? All of them, right? Country, yes. I mean, territory. Yeah, you know, you know, whatever we're doing these days. Future future resort. Future resort. The Trump made East course or whatever. Anyways, it would be fucking dark in the Netanyahu estates. It's like the Netanyahu, it's like the Biff Pleasure Palace in Bag Future 2, which is Netanyahu World or something. It's like it's like Disney World, but it's Netanyahu. And he's like, I don't know. And specifically Palestine because Netanyahu.
SPEAKER_03Instead of a sports almanac, it's just the couchy results from the election.
SPEAKER_02The Netanyahu amusement park. Oh man. Fuck yeah, dude. Uh, but yeah, so this guy. So the reason I brought the Palestinian thing as well is because like, so he's getting bad grades, not because he's Palestinian, but because he's just didn't care. He was smart.
SPEAKER_03Well, he's smart on his parents like that. But I mean, forcing he might not have had his own space in the classroom. He might have been off to the side and then he's periodically pelted with erasers.
SPEAKER_02But then there's not a divider! Fuck you! Fuck you, fuck the real fuck you, Louie, fuck you, Louie.
SPEAKER_03And but uh, you want the food? We take it back. How is this your fault? You are still you are a terrorist! This is on you! You you shoot the switch!
SPEAKER_02You're going you're going to shed your own retainer blood. Um and it was just without a doubt, the loudest I've done all episode. It's about wake up, Louse. Yeah, it's about a hunger strike. 10th grade hunger strike. Um but like, no, but like he was, you know, he probably didn't. His parents worked really hard. Dude, you're good. Okay. They got this far and they go, like, had they have to go to hearing the Loush and Hearing Clinic. It was so loud. So loud.
SPEAKER_03Lous and loud!
SPEAKER_02Oh, so he was just like bad at school because he didn't give a shit. Not because he wasn't smart. Because look, you have to be smart to run a fucking business. Like, especially as I mean, yeah, maybe there's more incentive as uh uh as an immigrant. I wouldn't matter. I mean there's a lot of whites and basic people, basic bitch people, like that don't have that like fire in them, you know? Like I see the fire in others that flickers, but it's like they haven't decided if they're gonna like let it burn or they're just or just gonna like blend in and get by and enjoy life. Right. Which is clearly that is not me. Yeah. Um, but like even if it's like they don't a lot of times it was like, no, this is what I'm doing. Like I want this life, I know what it takes, and the problem is like the fucking kids like sometimes can suffer.
SPEAKER_03We know we know someone. I almost um said his name just a second ago.
SPEAKER_02Matthias, son of Matthias. Matthias too?
SPEAKER_03Matthias from the land of um Cyprus. Cypress Babaz Baz Babazamalt? Babaz, yeah. He is a great example of someone that just has that burn, but like knows how much they're putting out for like the companies he's working for.
SPEAKER_02Oh, oh yeah. As like that we used to work for immigrant. Yeah, I know him. Yeah, he was fucking hard working doing it. But he was just so like worldly smart, and you're like, dude, how do people know if I was look, you were actually like I was the only person besides you to some degree maybe. But like that recognized like, what is this guy doing here? Yeah, or next door at a restaurant or a fast food restaurant. But yeah, he didn't forget his parents run a thing, but it's like the the downside is he had a grandma couldn't control him.
SPEAKER_04Uh huh.
SPEAKER_02And he didn't need to be controlled, and it's like I'm not saying like it would have been that much better if we it was just playing basketball and watched the Disney channel with me and it takes it. But it would have been fucking arrested in tenth grade. Probably. I wasn't cr fucking chasing him around with a crossbow. Like us having like super soakers in third grade didn't lead to him having a crossbow and chasing it. No, there's there's that's like Baron Aberrant behavior, but he didn't fire it at us. He was just that's the best thing I could say about that. It's like the most dangerous game. I was literally the most dangerous game in my life. Exactly what I mean. Basically cul-de-sac type neighborhood. And he's like, oh, he's like, I can see it. It's so funny, but anyway, so it's just like I was like, ah, crossbow!
SPEAKER_03Dude, I'm not gonna lie. That's it was kind of it was an enraged Palestinian kid coming after me with a crossbow, laughing kind of in the city. He wasn't enraged though, he wasn't enraged. No, like maybe just didn't like see it. Maybe internally he's like, This is for my people.
SPEAKER_02It was just like generation. No, man, dude, Palestine Christian. They're like, you know, it was like they're no, no, no, they wasn't a thing. No, it was like uh I started, I didn't mean to say my name's Sergei. Fuck. He's trying to get through Louis's life. And so he no, it's my fault. I'm blah blah blah blah blah blah. So Louis fucking goes to the science, he's in science class or some shit. And so the teachers did blah blah, you know, and whatever, chirping at him about something, I'm sure.
SPEAKER_03Okay.
SPEAKER_02And he at this point he decides in tenth grade in 1998 to threaten to car bomb them. The teacher. And the thing was just like this was this created economy for me thinking back on this like years ago and then obviously now on air. It's like, okay, I get that you have to take threats against teachers seriously, and that he's also Palestinian. So hypothetically, that region knows some things about some connects. But it's like, one, he's Palestinian Christian. So that should have been like, let's investigate this more, like what's really thinking. And two, he's a fucking D student. Like he's gonna fucking blow up something, like maybe. I was like, look, context matters. I was not in chemistry. Right, context matters, right? And I was just like, bro, he got a raw deal, right? This guy threatened to car bomb his teacher. It was like, they should have talked to me. I knew everything about I feel like I'm just like, did you find the crossbow? It's like this isn't about the crossbow, right? It's about the man. The boy that becomes the man.
SPEAKER_03He's the who's who's pulling the trigger.
SPEAKER_02And I just yeah, exactly. And I oh, so I brought up Louie, and this ties in the word, this is the clothes, put in a bow. One day, I'm sitting there was like a Saturday. And at this time I probably I was just like suffering through this shit physically because the um the repetition of the um the books, like the shelving for hours, and then the pushing the card, I guess, too, and carrying the books and putting them in the card. It's not like it's the worst thing, but it was like no, it's because I was playing like I was swimming, I was like dating adjacent a lifeguard. Nice, but I was afraid to like fucking hold her hand or suck her tits during Halloween H2O you know, movie or whatever. Crazy Halloween. I was technically, yeah, I was technically dating her when I made out in Dry Humped Dry Hump in the Pool. Shout out 90s Dry Humping and the Forgettable uh Halloween movie. Yeah, of course. And then there's a good one. Our first date was actually uh that the fucking beauty pageant movie with the murder mystery. Oh, it's gonna genius. No, the other one. Oh, uh uh Drop Dead Court. Like Christy Alley or some shit. The other one. Yeah, the other one, yeah. And he was just like, yeah, it was the worst. And then uh the guy was friends with the high school ended up dating her, like, and they never told me, and then they you know blew me out in a chat room.
SPEAKER_00Oh no.
SPEAKER_02Later in cut early in college. So it's like you know, it all ties together. And but I was like, anyways, um, yeah, so I'm up there, I'm like fucking my wrist is like it was a carpal tunnel. I got fucking carpal tunnel for playing water basketball, swimming, playing tennis. It was a great summer, minus and then, but then the problem is the fucking the the move like the books, and it was just like I was turning into a it was like a claw. Oh it was also like how am I supposed to masturbate?
SPEAKER_03Did you I was fighting masturbating? Fighting the urge to reference a few.
SPEAKER_02Well, I mean, no, obviously I was I don't know if you laos as well. If you've been paying attention, I was pocket pooled in the stacks, middle deep of the stacks. We are some pocket poolers on this test. Being like s sort of masturbating while on the clock at a library in high school, I don't know where that falls in terms of like crimes. I think that misdemeanor.
SPEAKER_03I think it's uh it's more of a slap on the wrist as long as it's not print.
SPEAKER_02But it's like honestly, it should have been an upgraded to felony one for fucking doing it while reading dating for dummies. There weren't even pictures of fucking hot tits. It's because it's it it it it's a in instinct. Because it's for dummies.
SPEAKER_03It's an instructional dummy.
SPEAKER_02Why were there not enough pictures in the four dummies trying to get you to overcome your dumbings? Imagine a fucking pop-up dating book pop up for dummies. Pop-up dating for dummies. It's like try the bra. Oh my god. You can't just like try again. It's like, no, that would have been traumatic because I had that doll. That the clown doll when I was three, and it was just like, no, it was like a creepy clown doll and it'd be in the fucking closet never. I've shown you that picture. Fucking scary as fuck. I don't like it. And so I wouldn't have been able to hook up. I didn't I struggle with bras. I used to be like, just I this is what I would do. This is great. I'll finish. I swear I'll finish the story and I'll let you, I won't trap you here any much longer. I want to. Oh, I want to. Oh maybe it's oh I want to sleep. Oh, I want bups, butt sex. Oh but I really should let me rape you. No, but that's like what the context of the song is. I know, no, you can say it out loud. It's just funny because I did have a girl that I dated like sing that to me when I just like hung out her place. And it was and my friend was there too. It was like my friend like sh met up, was with me when she met up with me at a bar. It was offline, and it was just like I'm so like completely cool, or like they're so just up for it or out for it that I'm just like I was I was the old this whole time. This whole time you're like I was being you I was the one being used and discarded. They didn't know I was doing that too. So it was like jokes on them, I guess, or reverse I UNA reverse. I got Una re I got Una reverse used sexually, or like a or like fingering or pumping or whatever. But it was I guess she sang that like with like she had like a piano and shit. It was cool.
SPEAKER_00It was a romantic. It was cool, man.
SPEAKER_02But then I hung out with her, I hung out with her again, and uh her she went to Duke's and her brother like also went to Duke and I watched like their one bowl game that they had at that point. It was like 2012 probably, and uh, and he's like, So where did you go to like where did you go to grad school? It was like one of his first photos. I was like, it's like I didn't. Yeah, like what and you know, it's like I may or may not be come inside of your sister. I didn't say that, but I'm like, what is there just you said no? But I was like, this guy's killing it for her. Like, you know what I mean? I felt bad in that moment. I didn't feel I felt a little not bad for myself, but I was just like, that's so weird. Yeah, if I was a brother of a sister, I'd be like, dude, just meet a nice guy, yeah, or a kind person. I wasn't mature enough at that, and or already in that junk. She was this is one of the multitude of lovely people I went out with. Yeah. And this one's saying this was like pre-this is a SA song. Yeah. This is like an SA anthem. It was before that, it was years before the Me Too. So it was like when it was not an SA anthem.
SPEAKER_03It was hot.
SPEAKER_02It was hot, it was dropping like it's hot. It was like the Bahaman, the Dry Hump song. It was a song you get off to instead of a song that gets you locked up or canceled. But um, yeah. So fuck man, damn it. Sorry, I suck. What was the no, you don't suck. I was like, what I was oh yeah, so library, library. So I was just like, the reason I bring him tied together with a fucking bow is that he was there on a Saturday, assigned to do my exact same job as community service for fucking stealing shit or whatever, bur like trespassing or being gonna fuck up. And I was like, he's like, Oh, you work here? I was like, Yeah. Miss you too, man. Glad you didn't uh kill your teacher. Alright. Bye. See you next time.
