Stay Salty - Matthew 5:13 - 16

Rev. Steven Chitty

Matthew 5:13 - 16

13 “You are the salt of the earth, but if salt has lost its taste, how shall its saltiness be restored? It is no longer good for anything except to be thrown out and trampled under people’s feet.

14 “You are the light of the world. A city set on a hill cannot be hidden. 15 Nor do people light a lamp and put it under a basket, but on a stand, and it gives light to all in the house. 16 In the same way, let your light shine before others, so that they may see your good works and give glory to your Father who is in heaven.

Sermon Questions:

1. Have you ever thought about the 'why' of following Jesus? What would your answer be (as to 'why')?
2. What prevents you from feeling or believing that Jesus has already changed you?
3. Who has Jesus put in your life to be a blessing to? To be salt and light to?
4. Do you feel like you need to hear the charge or the comfort of Jesus? (charge = engage with your people, comfort = I've got you where I want you)
5. What is one change in your life, if you were asked about, you would say 'it was Jesus who changed me'?
