Lesley Hall
Dr Lesley A. Hall, FRHistS, PhD, DipAA, is a historian and retired archivist whose research has transformed understanding of gender, sexuality, and medicine in modern Britain. Formerly Senior Archivist at the Wellcome Library (1979–2015) and later a Research Fellow there, she is also Honorary Senior Lecturer in the Department of Science and Technology Studies at UCL. Her books include Sex, Gender and Social Change in Britain since 1880, The Life and Times of Stella Browne, Outspoken Women, and (with Roy Porter) The Facts of Life. A Fellow of the Royal Historical Society, Hall has appeared on radio and television and maintains a long-running website on the history of sexuality, Victorian myths, and women’s writing.
