What does ADHD look like when you have spent years being the capable one, the high achiever, the person who keeps going no matter what?
In this episode of Reclaim Your Voice, I’m joined by Ria Taher, founder of RI ALIGN, who supports high achieving adults with ADHD, AuDHD, burnout and overwhelm. Ria works with people who have been late diagnosed, who suspect they may have ADHD, or who are trying to understand why life and work can feel harder than they seem to for other people. On her site, she describes her work as helping ambitious, busy minds and diverse thinkers move from overwhelm to clarity, confidence and sustainable change.
Together, we explore what late diagnosed ADHD can look like in real life, why so many adults have spent years masking and people pleasing, and how that can affect confidence, identity and emotional wellbeing. Ria also shares her own diagnosis journey, the grief that can come with finally making sense of the past, and why understanding how your brain works can be the beginning of a completely new chapter. Her coaching draws on neuroscience, executive coaching models, neuro linguistic programming, and executive functioning frameworks.
We also talk about rejection sensitive dysphoria, burnout cycles in high achievers, time blindness, hyperfocus, emotional regulation, and the practical tools that can help people work with their brain rather than against it. Ria explains why self awareness is the foundation for change, why journaling and brain dumping can be powerful first steps, and how routines like movement and exercise can support focus, clarity and regulation.
If you have ever wondered whether ADHD could be part of your story, or you are supporting someone who is navigating a diagnosis, this conversation is full of insight, reassurance and practical takeaways.
