Hey everybody! Welcome back to Our Life is a Honeymoon. And this is episode number 21. And on today's episode, I'm gonna interview Tim. And we're all gonna learn a little bit more about him. So stay tuned. Here we go. The universe brought us together.
SPEAKER_00That we know.
SPEAKER_02And together we want to share that story with you.
SPEAKER_00As well as all of the practices we do to keep our relationship thriving.
SPEAKER_02Because to us, it feels like our life is a honeymoon.
SPEAKER_00We want that to enjoy for all of you. I'm Tim.
SPEAKER_02I'm Amy, and this is our podcast. This podcast is brought to you in part by Considine Homes, proudly serving your real estate needs in South Florida with honesty and integrity and offering trusted referral partnerships in all 50 states and beyond. Hey everybody! Hello, hello. Yes, thank you for joining us, episode number 21 of Our Life is a Honeymoon. And we thought it would be fun to do things maybe a little bit differently. And so today I'm gonna interview Tim so that you can get to know him a little better and I can maybe learn a couple new things about him. So with no further ado, Tim, are you ready to be interviewed? Yes. Ooh, this is very exciting. Tim, what was your first impression of me?
SPEAKER_00Yes, I uh I actually saw this question ahead of time, but I did see that I uh the first thing that came to mind was when you first reached out to me on Inside Timer, 2017, around July, and I just thought I was being catfished. But I also thought you were very beautiful. And it was a great picture. Thank you. I think you were sitting maybe out to dinner with somebody you were wearing a black, a black dress, some sorts.
SPEAKER_02I had a different picture actually first, and then I thought that you might have thought I was too weird, so I changed it.
SPEAKER_00I never knew that.
SPEAKER_02Yeah.
SPEAKER_00That's crazy.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, I was like in it's weird. I was in a really kind of gothic outfit inside a fireplace, a large fireplace at the Breaker's Hotel. And it was a very artistic picture, but I'm like, mm-hmm I think I know that picture, but I that's so crazy.
SPEAKER_00Wow. Yeah, see, that's why I love this.
SPEAKER_02Yeah.
SPEAKER_00It's like I mean when you said you were gonna learn about me, but I also I think we're just gonna learn a lot about each other.
SPEAKER_02Well, so far so good. Okay. So are you done with that answer? Okay, do not look at my question. I'm not looking. These are secrets, these are surprises. Um, what is something I do that always makes you smile?
SPEAKER_00All right. Well, the first thing that was coming to my mind, there's a lot. But I really like the way that you talk to animals. I remember when we first started talking, you sent me a video of I think maybe a bunny was in your yard, and you were just like just super, you know, authentic, genuine, just like you're a little, you know, it's like you have a different voice when you talk to animals. It's like you know, it's like uh Snow White in a way almost. Yeah. But I really just remember thinking like just this feels good. Like right, you know, right in the beginning. And then even to this day, when you feed the animals in the backyard, you know, you're like, hey guys, and you just kind of are friendly towards animals, and I'm vegan, so it just you know hits a you know soft spot.
SPEAKER_02Oh, I love that. Well, thank you. Thank you. Wow, that's not what I expected. Okay. What's the funniest thing that's happened to us on a trip?
SPEAKER_00Well, we've told the Costa Rica story.
SPEAKER_02That was the scariest thing.
SPEAKER_00So I'd say go like, because that I think that would be one of my top answers. But uh we've already discussed that in detail.
SPEAKER_02So But not everybody's heard every episode, but I I just I I I'm not interested in sharing that again.
unknownOh my god.
SPEAKER_00So the funniest thing that's happened on a trip. Yeah. Um, so this one, this is this is a funnier one. So we were at Disney, you and me, in a in a mer uh in a gr uh, what do you call it? The shop. One of the shops I think was Hollywood Studios.
SPEAKER_01Okay.
SPEAKER_00And there was a couple that started talking to us.
SPEAKER_01Oh.
SPEAKER_02Yes.
SPEAKER_00It was a like a lovely older couple, right?
SPEAKER_02Were they lovely?
SPEAKER_00They started off lovely. And because I mean, I think this is the funniest. This is this is really funny.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, I forgot about this.
SPEAKER_00And they were just telling us about, I think maybe like we saw that they were having fun, like they're older, they're at Disney, and I think one of them might have been like a wheelchair or you know, one of those little roly card things.
unknownYeah.
SPEAKER_00And we Amy talks to a lot of strangers, she just strikes up conversations like nobody's business very easily, which is another thing I admire. That's not uh trait that I I mean I can do it sometimes, but like five percent compared to your 100%. And the the just the story is they got graphic with us. Like we were just talking about something, and all of a sudden they started talking about smoking weed and making out. And it went from like normal to just weird very fast, and we just were like both looking at each other and thinking, like, what do we what is happening right now of this situation? And we we you know, it's just something that stuck with me. So I feel like that's to me, that's like comedic and funny.
SPEAKER_02And yeah, it was a weird one. Yeah, okay. I couldn't think of something for that question, so there we go. Um, what is something you've changed your mind about since we met?
SPEAKER_00That's a good one. Yeah. Do you know my answer?
SPEAKER_02Yes.
SPEAKER_00I think so. Dave Matthews?
SPEAKER_02Yes, Dave Matthews.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, so there's two actually that I'll I'll I'll I'll start with the one that you're not gonna think. Oh, but I'll I'll just keep that one brief, and it's wearing matching clothes. Oh because it actually ties into Dave Matthews band. There was a time where uh Amy and I both had Dave Matthews band shirts.
SPEAKER_02Oh, I forgot.
SPEAKER_00And she wanted to wear them together at the same time. Um touching the microphone. And you scooched. And she um, well, you're the interviewer. I'm like trying to oh, yeah, but you're off the screen. And so that we were, I don't know, something she's like, hey, we both have these new Dave Matthews shirts, and I I was still, you know, a new fan and just had moved down here in 2018. You know, I moved down here in 2018. And I was I just wasn't comfortable wearing a mat, even though they weren't the same shirt at all.
SPEAKER_02Just the same band.
SPEAKER_00And I I mean I had an issue, and so that's something I've changed my mind on clearly over the years that Amy and I are like matching right now. And we go out of our way to match a lot and coordinate. But it was just that aside, that's something that I I really shifted on. And then also Dave Matthews band in general. So when we first met, Amy, when we first started talking, we were sending music, and Amy shared uh the song 41, number 41 by Dave Matthews.
SPEAKER_02And beautiful.
SPEAKER_00It just hearing that song, it was like, I'm wrong. It was like it wasn't like, do I like this? Do I not like this? It was just the great the perfect song to send.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, it's a perfect song.
SPEAKER_00And so we love you, Dave. And so that was in 2017 when he shared that with me. And uh I didn't really like you know, I bought some of his albums over the years, but it just even was last time we saw him, he came to West Palm Beach, you know, last month, and uh it like hit me in a new way, and so it's like I'm just still f falling you know deeper into the Dave Matthews world because it's you know he's been around for 30 years.
SPEAKER_02I'm in baby, I'm deep in.
SPEAKER_00And so, yeah, Dave Matthew is my uh big shift.
SPEAKER_01Yeah.
SPEAKER_00I used to really like just because when I grew up, you know, in the late 90s, early 2000s, I was more into like the punk and metal, and he was just light years away, you know, and as I've gotten older, it's like just like the clicks were just so much stronger back then. Like it, like if you didn't like this, like it just it just wouldn't make sense at the time. You wouldn't it wouldn't fit into my world.
SPEAKER_02Then you uh fall in love with a woman 10 years older and things shift, yeah, yeah, yeah. Awesome, awesome. Okay, moving on. Um, what's the biggest lesson you've learned from being in a long-term relationship?
SPEAKER_00This is fun. I like I I've never heard these questions, so this is all new to me. So uh, can you say it again?
SPEAKER_02What's the biggest lesson you've learned from being in a long-term relationship?
SPEAKER_00That um, you know, the first thing's coming to mind is that just never say never, really? Like uh I uh because when we first started dating, marriage wasn't on the table. And now we're getting married, you know, in like eight months.
SPEAKER_01Oh she's happy but nervous.
SPEAKER_00No, I'm happy.
SPEAKER_02There's a lot to do to get ready.
SPEAKER_00I mean uh I'll marry him right this second, but but yeah, and so yeah, it's just we've been together for almost 10 years, and just so much has shifted and changed, and you just we just don't know what's gonna happen. And I know that something that I think is like concrete today, that years from now, I I you know I could, you know, right now I'm plant-based, and you know, maybe one day I won't be, but you know, I just really got to eat cheese.
SPEAKER_02It would open the universe on cooking and recipes.
SPEAKER_00You can still do all that.
SPEAKER_02Okay.
SPEAKER_00I stand strong on that, but I'm just saying right now.
SPEAKER_02You said never say never.
SPEAKER_00That's what I'm saying.
SPEAKER_02Yeah.
SPEAKER_00So I'm not gonna say yes right now.
SPEAKER_02Yeah.
SPEAKER_00I'm not I'm not changing today. No. All right then. I'm glad that happened.
SPEAKER_02What do you think makes our relationship work?
SPEAKER_00I'll say the I think uh just the our dedic both of our dedication to self-like growth and just healing and growing and and and not like becoming stagnant in any way, shape, or form. I feel like neither of us uh have to tell each other or ask each other. It's just in us to you know, and like we like I I feel like you inspire me because you're like, oh, I'm gonna try this thing, and and then I like I'll do something, and then you're like, oh, like I didn't know that, you know, it's like I just feel like we are both just inspired, and I feel like I just get inspired from you, and and uh it's like it just never gets old because we're always like doing different things, and it's just like every day's different and things that we're interested in today, it's gonna be different tomorrow. I mean, there are like our solid things, yeah, but things come and go, and we we just work well as a team and yeah, we do. And like things that I I don't excel at you do, and things that I excel at you don't, and excuse me.
SPEAKER_02I don't know what you're talking about, Tim, except for technology. Um, okay, are you done with that one? What is one thing you admire about me that I don't give myself enough credit for?
SPEAKER_00Yeah, this is a good one. Can you say it again?
SPEAKER_02Yes, I can. What is one thing you admire about me that I don't give myself enough credit for? You're allowed to pass.
SPEAKER_00No, no, no. It's just it's just a a good question that I want to give.
SPEAKER_02You were all the way off the camera. Okay, anyways, keep going.
SPEAKER_00You know what? I'm just gonna pass on that one.
SPEAKER_02Okay, okay, thank you. What's the weirdest thing we've ever bonded over?
SPEAKER_00I mean, I don't think it's weird, but uh I'll just say our love for aliens and Illuminati and um conspiracy theories and all that stuff.
SPEAKER_02Secret societies, yes, yes.
SPEAKER_00It's not anything that we take too seriously, but it's a fun hobby in the background. Yes. Like neither of us are like it's always like at night when we're watching our shows that it kind of comes out. But when we first started dating, that was something that we were in a bookstore and and she said, I love Illuminati. I'm like, oh my god, me too. And we I didn't even know really what it was. She didn't really know what it was, but we just knew we were interested in it. And yeah, that that yeah, that was our first date. That stuck around for a long time. That that was like right off the bat.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, yeah. It's still true to this day. I still don't know what it is. Um, okay. Uh if our relationship were a Disney ride, which ride would it be?
SPEAKER_00That is a good question. What ride would our what Disney ride our relationship mean? I'm like I'm just thinking of rides. Um Man, so nothing's coming to mind, but I will say um I mean just uh there's a Great Big Beautiful Tomorrow.
SPEAKER_02Carousel of progress.
SPEAKER_00Hear me out.
SPEAKER_02Have you seen that ride? It's not even a ride, it's a but the reason old and moldy show.
SPEAKER_00But the reason that I'm thinking it is because of that song. There's a great big beautiful tomorrow. Like I feel like just the way that the ride goes, it starts out one way and then it just shifts. And I feel like we've gone through a lot of chapters and evolving, and it's a beautiful story.
SPEAKER_01And okay.
SPEAKER_00You know, with what's happening today won't be happening tomorrow.
SPEAKER_02Oh, yeah. Do you know that they are refurbishing that ride?
SPEAKER_00That's great.
SPEAKER_02Yep. All right. What's one thing you wish more couples talked about?
SPEAKER_00Um man, these are these are good questions. Uh I don't really know what couples are or aren't talking about, but what I what I think are what I feel like they're not talking about are maybe their childhood traumas.
SPEAKER_02All people in general maybe.
SPEAKER_00Just with themselves, with each other.
SPEAKER_02Oh, wow, that hit. Yeah, definitely.
SPEAKER_00Because you know, when Amy and I first started dating, I had mentioned that my mom had passed away. And I kind of said it as like just like a fact of life rather than like there was any emotion tied to it. And I've just gone through a lot of healing and therapy, and and now I'm really connected to those feelings. And I just, you know, it's something that that we would talk about, but and eventually, I don't know, it's just I feel like I mean I'm not sure if people talk about these things, but I would like them to.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. Just the deep, the deep, deep stuff. Yeah, absolutely. Okay. What is your favorite ordinary moment with me?
SPEAKER_00Mm-hmm. Very good. Um, I'll just say when we go to bed every night when we go to bed. Yeah. It's a ritual that we have where we will put on a show and just watch a little show before we go to bed. Usually uh Ancient Aliens or The Unexplained with William Shatner. It's a great show. And it's just simple and I know you like it, I like it. We both like it. And the cats are around us, and it's everyone has their little ritual. We have a lot of cats, and so they'll kind of each do their little thing. And it's like a it's like clockwork, and uh, I love it.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, I do. We usually have a few jokes. Yeah, we snuggle, yeah, it's very nice. Okay, what makes you feel most appreciated?
SPEAKER_00Yeah, these are these are like really good questions.
SPEAKER_02Um thank you. Thank you for liking my list.
SPEAKER_00What makes me feel appreciated?
SPEAKER_02Yeah. Wow. That's the question, Tim.
SPEAKER_00Like I've never thought what makes me feel appreciated. I mean, I think just words of affirmation, like when someone tells me they appreciate me or they're proud of me, or those words just really mean a lot. It's they're very simple, and my therapist will say it sometimes. You say it sometimes. You know, it's like a uh I just feel like it's like these easy things that we can say to each other that don't cost anything. Um that just have a huge effect. Uh-huh. You know, when my therapist says it, it costs me a little bit of money.
SPEAKER_02Yes, that's true.
SPEAKER_00But other than that, um yeah, just just uh the words of affirmation.
SPEAKER_02Mm-hmm. Okay. Very nice. Well, I appreciate you. You're special, and I love you. Thank you. Oh, you're so welcome. Okay. Um, what's something people assume about relationships that you think is wrong?
SPEAKER_00It's a strange question.
SPEAKER_02It sure is. What's something people assume about relationships that you think is wrong?
SPEAKER_00Um that, okay, this something's coming here. Uh something that people assume about relationships that I think is wrong. Um that relationships are it's like they all they all take work, and I feel like maybe some people think they'll just be easy. Like, like, oh, this is and if it's not easy, then it's wrong.
SPEAKER_01Yeah.
SPEAKER_00Like, oh, I broke up with them because you know, we we fought too much. I mean, I'm not really I don't have anything to like exactly, but I just know that relationships take a lot of work. Like anything in the world that is worthwhile. Uh so yeah, I'll just say that because I know some people are single and and maybe they think that because relationships are hard that they're not for them, or I don't know. Yeah. It's it's it's like a real commitment, and the they all just leave it at that.
SPEAKER_02Okay, perfect. If you could relive one day of our relationship, what which would it be?
SPEAKER_00Probably the day we met.
SPEAKER_02Oh in person. Oh, that's a good answer.
SPEAKER_00Oh, that's so cute. Oh because there's only one day like that in the whole world.
SPEAKER_02Because for those of you that haven't tuned in before, we met online. And so we had been talking to each other for how many? July, August, two months.
SPEAKER_00A couple months.
SPEAKER_02Well, two months, and then we met um at an airport.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, yeah. And it was it was, you know, after months of just seeing someone on the screen and then you know, touching you physically and uh just for our Patreon subscribers, for our extra content, not this one. Thank you. In person. Whoopsie. Yeah, but seriously, just literally like you are a an object that is in person. You're an object. This is getting better. This is good. Quality content. No, I uh let me try it again.
SPEAKER_02One more time.
SPEAKER_00So from digital to reality. You were a real person.
SPEAKER_02Yes.
SPEAKER_00And and I loved it, and I would like to relive it. Because it was very special.
SPEAKER_02Very, very special. Okay. What do you think our relationship will look like when we're 80?
SPEAKER_00Together at the same time?
SPEAKER_02I will have been dead for 10 years. That's the question.
SPEAKER_00This is going well. This is off the rails. All right, so uh say it again.
SPEAKER_02What do you think our relationship will look like when We're 80.
SPEAKER_00Okay. Um. I think it'll look very similar to how we are now, except we'll both have been retired.
SPEAKER_02Praise the Lord.
SPEAKER_00And there will be, you know, the same. I feel like dedication to spirituality, dedication to Disney. Dedication to family. Um cats. Cats are family. Yes. And uh traveling the world. I think even at that point still.
SPEAKER_02Now are you 80 and I'm 90, or you're 70 and I'm 80?
SPEAKER_00Uh we're both 80.
SPEAKER_02That's impossible.
SPEAKER_00When I'm 80 and when you're 80.
SPEAKER_02Oh, so a whole decade. A decade of bliss.
SPEAKER_00Old bliss. And uh yeah, so I'll say uh I think it'll look the same, but just with more free time.
SPEAKER_02Oh, well heck yeah, bring it on. What would what advice would you give your younger self about love?
SPEAKER_00Um that love is um that you can uh receive love. It's okay to receive love, and it's okay to give love. And there was um a period of time where I was really jaded on relationships, I'll say like in my early twenties, and you won't find love in alcohol. You won't find love in escaping, and uh, I feel like real love comes from letting go of of uh all those things and just you know being living in reality.
SPEAKER_02Okay. Very nice, Henny. Okay, this is the last question I have for you today. What's your favorite thing about being engaged to me?
SPEAKER_00How do where do I where do I begin?
SPEAKER_02Oh, okay.
SPEAKER_00My favorite thing about being engaged to you. Yeah, um that you're going to be my wife.
SPEAKER_02That is so cute, really? Yeah. Oh. You excited?
SPEAKER_00Yeah. Yeah, it's uh it's something that I feel like we already have like that relationship, but it's gonna be nice. It's going to be nice to like just have it for real. Be official and you know, I've the ring on, and you'll have the ring and just be a couple.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, I can't wait to call you my husband. That'd be so nice. That's so cute. Okay. Well, those are all of your questions. You did good job. You did very well, sir. Very, very, very well. Very well. Um, so um, oh, wait a minute. Let me let me shuffle, shuffle my papers. Um, so the reason that we chose to do this kind of interview process is um quite frankly, it's fun. It's fun to get to know your partner a little bit better and maybe learn some things that you don't know. And so my invite for the listeners is to uh do something like this with your partner. Um, you can go online easily and get a list of questions. And um if you're not in a romantic relationship, you can do it with your best friend. I actually um went camping with my best friend Kristen and she pulled up, I don't know what site online and we asked each other best friend questions. And that was really fun too. So very good. Yeah, it's just a great way to get to know each other. And um, I am thinking also if you ever are somewhere where, like, say a line at Disney and the time is long, this is a good thing to put in the middle or a car trip.
unknownYeah.
SPEAKER_02So my invite is to uh get to know the people that you love a little bit better, and I would love to hear how that goes.
SPEAKER_00Yes, I would too.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, awesome. Okay, well, thank you everybody so much for tuning in with us today.
