The first Rough Bunker Sports Podcast starts where most shows avoid starting: with opinions that might get you yelled at, and the receipts to back them up. We’re coming out swinging on the NBA Finals, why Spurs vs Knicks is such a fun clash of styles, and what Victor Wembanyama and Jalen Brunson reveal about how teams win when the lights get bright. Then we dig into a bigger NBA problem that drives fans crazy: flopping, foul hunting, and the playoff whistle that changes everything.

From there we bring it home to Minnesota sports with an honest Timberwolves check-in. We talk Anthony Edwards as a true two-way superstar, what went wrong when injuries hit, and why the offseason decisions around Rudy Gobert, Julius Randle, and the supporting cast matter more than any single hot take. If you care about the Timberwolves championship window, roster construction, and how to actually build around a star, you’ll have plenty to argue with us about.

We also hit the Minnesota Vikings and the wider NFL landscape with a realistic lens, including the JJ McCarthy question, the urgency of a win-now roster, and bold predictions like the Rams as a Super Bowl favorite and Matt Stafford as an MVP pick. We wrap with “Minnesota Corner,” a fan question of the week, a LeBron vs Jordan debate starter, and a top ten list of athletes worth paying to see live. Welcome And Podcast Plan

SPEAKER_02

All right, ladies and gentlemen, welcome to the first episode of Rough Bunker Sports Podcast. I am your host, T.A. one half of the Boss Two Boys. We will be going over some stuff today, just kind of giving you an idea on what I'm doing and how things are going and what I'm going to be planning on for the podcast. Like I said, this is Rough Bunker Sports Podcast, and I am your host, TA1 half of the Boss Two Boys. We're going to be going through the NBA playoffs, what happened with the Timberwolves. We'll go over some stuff on the Vikings, just some other random thoughts that I have. You know, I'm kind of thinking with this podcast, I'm trying to make it fun, maybe inspirational for some people, give you some hot takes on stuff that I think is relevant. And if you don't like that, that's fine. You can definitely give me your feedback and see what you want. I'd love the customer feedback, obviously. Very open to kind of stuff like that. I will be opening uh some other stuff on TikTok and possibly Instagram and Facebook. Uh but definitely give us a look at uh Boss to Boys podcast for myself and for Tony. We do uh run, or he more than more runs the uh Boss to Barrel sauna company. Uh we have a website out there you can rent or design your own sauna. So that's definitely something that him and I have been working on for the past year or over a year.

Spurs Knicks Finals First Impressions

SPEAKER_02

So just to get into the show, like I said, we're gonna go over some uh NBA stuff. The finals just started. Game one, the Knicks took game two will probably be already out and done by the time that this episode gets out gets out there. Kind of just a thought on that, like you look at the Spurs and you look at the Knicks, definitely two really good teams, two teams that nobody probably thought honestly were gonna make it to the finals this year. With the Spurs, you know, they have Victor Weminyama, the alien, he's he's phenomenal. Uh, nobody seems to be able to guard him. Uh, I don't know how you can at 7-5 and the wingspan and all that kind of stuff that he does defensively for his team. And even offensively, you think you can you look at him and you know, how how can the guy not just stand in the post and dominate underneath the basket? But he is definitely small and slender, and I think the Knicks will give him some fits. Knicks are kind of a team of destiny, you know. They they nobody really knew what they were gonna be doing, nobody really knew how good they were gonna be going into the playoffs outside of probably New York and some some big sports media people. Uh, I don't think this common person was really thinking that the Knicks were really gonna do anything in the playoffs. But once Boston went down and they had to go against Philly, I think they really opened everybody's eyes. Uh, and then obviously Cleveland, Cleveland's Cleveland hasn't been really that great since LeBron left. And Donovan Mitchell's there. He's a good player, but I don't think he's the caliber that's gonna get you to the finals, personally. But, you know, they do they did well, and you know, I think San Antonio had the harder path to the finals. They had to go through uh obviously Minnesota, and then they had to go through OKC, Oklahoma City Thunder. And I thought I thought they did a great job with what they did with SGA. I thought the the officials definitely let

Playoff Whistles And Flopping Rants

SPEAKER_02

those guys play. SGA didn't really get the calls that he was was getting during the regular season, and I listened to a lot of other podcasts like The Arena with Kenyon Martin and Brendan Jennings, and then you have the two other guys that can't seem to really get a good take or speak English, Nick Young and Rashad McCantz. But, you know, I I think that SGA kind of gets the James Harden treatment where the officials swallow the whistle in the playoffs. You know, you gotta kind of play basketball. You can't just flop around and expect to get every single call every time you hit the floor, because you know, that's just not how good basketball is. I I think that people get sick and tired of watching that kind of stuff. And, you know, I know as a common fan myself, I just I don't like what that does to the sport. I I don't I don't like what it shows young fans and it shows the youth of America where you can just go to the basket or take a jump shot and fall over and expect to get a call. Like, I don't think that that's basketball. That's definitely not the game that I remember watching. It's not the game that I remember playing as a young kid. Like, I I obviously didn't play high-level basketball or high-level sports, but I definitely watched, you know, you you talk about the old the old players like Michael Jordan, Reggie Miller, who was a he was a flopper too. Like he definitely got some calls from refs and he got some calls from coaches and stuff like that where he would flop over, but he he's another one. Like he was even doing a lot of the commentary and caught you know play by play for the Western Conference Finals, Eastern Conference Finals, and now the finals, and he's not a fan of it either. I I just I don't think that it should be something that you promote in today's game. It's definitely something that these youth and these under younger people definitely watch, and they think that they can do it and get away with it, also. And to watch your favorite players just fall over every time they're touched doesn't do anything for the game. So, I mean, I I think that the two teams that made it to the finals definitely deserve to be there. I think that they both will give us a great series. I think it should go six. I'm gonna I'm gonna take Spurs in six. I just I don't think that New York has anything that can compete with the young athletic and height difference that San Antonio gives them. I think San Antonio just will outplay them and out hustle them. But I wouldn't be shocked if New York does win. I'm kind of hoping that New York wins, but my my brain is saying San Antonio, but my heart wants New York.

Timberwolves Moves After Heartbreak

SPEAKER_02

And even going into that, you know, it's gonna be really hard as a Timberwolves fan to watch possibly Carl Anthony Towns get a championship before Anthony Edwards. Do I think that they made the right call, shipping him instead of Gobert? Yes and no. I think Rudy definitely showed his worth in some of the playoffs that we had, some of the games. But there again, he would definitely be a piece that I would try and move in the offseason. I know his defense is something that we definitely need underneath the basket, but we we we're at a point now where him and probably Julius Randle have to go. Uh, they're they're just they're so up and down that it's really hard to keep both of them. I think from what I could watch and what I could see with Julius Randle, he was he vanished in the playoffs. He he didn't have great playoffs, he didn't give Anthony Edwards the help that he needed. Gobert definitely did his job with Jokic. Definitely did his job with with Denver and Nicole Jokic, but there again we needed him more in the San Antonio series, and he just he almost got played off the floor. Like you just you could not keep him out there because he's he's just really, really hard to keep out there offensively. Like it just it's really difficult when you don't have that big presence that can score. So I just I have a really hard time keeping him, and then like I said, with I mean with Julius Randle not being able to play and not scoring and not doing a job that we are paying him to do, hard to keep him. Gobert offensively limited, obviously. You you can't have somebody that tall and somebody that just will not dunk the basketball. You're seven foot two, you're by the rim, you need to you need to go up strong and dunk the ball. Like you you can't not do that. So moving into next year, I'm hoping we'd make some sort of some sort of changes. Some sort of changes have to happen with that. If we have to trade some stuff away or let some people go, it's just gonna have to happen. I think Terrence Shannon definitely played his way into the rotation. I think that DeSumo definitely played his way into the rotation, obviously. He's probably gonna start since Steven Chenzo's gonna be out for the foreseeable future. I hope they keep Dante because he's gonna be a key contributor towards the future. Some people aren't what they were after an Achilles tear, but I think he's definitely gonna show show differently on that. You gotta give the guy a chance the way he was playing and the way that he was contributing at the time of his injury. It's unfortunate because I do think if healthy, I think we do beat San Antonio, and I do think that we go on to the finals. Pretty hard to argue with that, the way that we were playing, with everybody healthy and everybody in there. So, I mean, even with Anthony Edwards, him also hyperextending his knee, and then people stepping up and taking those games and beating Denver. Edwards just was never the same. He didn't have that extra pop off the floor, he didn't have that playmaking ability at the rim, which is unfortunate. If you think about it, they talk about the best players in the NBA, and everybody says Wemby, and they say Giannis, they say SGA, they say all these other people, and not just because people might say I'm a homer with the whole thing, but Anthony Edwards is the best all-around basketball player in the NBA right now, defensively, offensively, above the rim, around the basket, all that stuff. Like he is the real deal. Just hoping that he can stay in Minnesota, hoping that the Timberwolves don't screw it up and ship him off or let him go somewhere else or demand a trade. Because we are gonna go as he goes. So hopefully we can get everything that he wants. And if I were him, I'd demand pref I wouldn't I'd demand some things in the offseason because he he definitely needs help and he definitely needs the pieces around him to help him uh get to the next level and get over the hump of going to the NBA finals. So we'll see what what the Timberwolves do in the offseason. Good luck to the Knicks, good luck to the Spurs. Hopefully they can get something going. Keep it exciting. I know the Knicks are up, like I said, 1-0. Game is tonight. Game two is tonight. I don't even remember what time, but Friday, the Friday, June 5th, game two. I'm sure it starts at 6 or 7 o'clock. 6 or 7. Hopefully they have a good game. That's yeah, that's that's gonna wrap that part of the that part up.

Vikings Outlook With Brutal Honesty

SPEAKER_02

from Minnesota. People say that I'm kind of a downer when it comes to football. I'm more of a realistic fan than a Vikings fan. I like to keep things on the real side of sports, not on the fandom side of sports, if that makes sense to most people. I have more of a realistic thought process when it comes to that. Uh-huh. My wife hates it. My in-laws hate it. My friends that are Vikings fans mostly hate it. You know, every year they're going to go, you know, 10 and 7 or 7 and 10, because I just I I don't I don't foresee the Vikings like most fair weather fans are. I'm not a bandwagon jumper. I personally think that the Rams are going to take the whole thing this year. I don't think it's even going to be close, especially with the signing of Miles Garrett now. And I heard a rumor, I'm sure most people heard this rumor that Aaron Donald was talking about coming back. Now, if Aaron Donald comes back and he plays for the Rams, that defense, especially the defensive front, is going to be the scariest defensive front in the history of football. With Miles Garrett, Aaron Donald, and I don't honestly can't even name the rest of them, but just those two alone makes that the scariest defensive line in the history of football. Not even close. As for the Vikings, I mean they they did sign Kyler Murray in the offseason. I think he's going to be a good addition, unfortunately, with JJ McCarthy. He's just not that he's not quite there yet. And we don't want to do to him what we did to Christian Ponder. I think Christian Ponder could have been one of the better quarterbacks that the Vikings had, but they threw him in a little early and he just got the crap kicked out of him. He was sacked so much and never had an offensive line to really help him out. Not to say that the Vikings' offensive line is too terrible, but it's not great. And I think a guy with a little more mobility, a little more game sense, a little more athleticism definitely can get this team on track. If you look at the athletic ability of the offense on the offensive side for the Vikings, between Murray, Justin Jefferson, Addison, Hawkinson. I mean, it's it's crazy to see what they have. Defensively is going to be a little bit more difficult. I think there's going to have a little bit more of a struggle there. Uh with losing Gennard. I think that might put us pretty thin on edge rusher between Van Genkel and Dallas Turner. I think we're really going to see what Dallas Turner has this year, which is good. I think he's going to be a really good player for us. I don't know exactly what our defense is going to look like without Harrison Smith. I think that he stayed one year too long, personally. But with with um the secondary, it's it's going to be tough. Our secondary always seems to either be really good or really bad. There's no in between. I mean, I think Flores will have the defense ready to play, and I think he'll have them up to speed on everything. It's just it's going to be young, it's going to be have some growing pains. Do I think we can win the division? Probably. I really do. I don't think Chicago is as good as people say. Ben Johnson had a really good year with head coach and Caleb Williams and all that stuff, but you know, you have one one of those years now, you have a year of tape. And I think the defensive coordinators in our division really are some of the best in the league. Detroit's going to be really good as normal.

Rams Super Bowl Pick And AFC Chaos

SPEAKER_02

I think that uh Green Bay is going to be pretty good. Jordan Love really showed how good he is. But like I said, the NFC is going to be well measured on the Rams. As long as Stafford can stay healthy. He's been one of my favorite quarterbacks since he was a rookie. I think that he really has another chance of winning a back-to-back MVP and another Super Bowl. And then, you know, if he does that, where does he rank among the greats in the NFL history for quarterbacks if he wins next year? Stafford wins another MVP and another Super Bowl. He's got two Super Bowls. I mean, he's he's good. Stafford's going to be thought of as one of the best quarterbacks to ever to ever play. If he's not already, he is one of the best throwers of the football ever, but if he wins another Super Bowl, he's going to be, in the at least I would say, in my opinion, a top 10 quarterback of all time. And then looking at the other side, looking at the AFC, we're going to see how good the Bills really are. We're going to see Josh Allen with a new coach, offensive-minded coach. We're going to really see if he can if we can still blame everything on Sean McDermott or not. I think that it's kind of a make or break year for Josh Allen and the Bills, and also for Lamar Jackson and the Ravens. I do like both teams. I I don't know which one I would take going into next year. AFC is going to be kind of a crapshoot. I would hope I would like to see the Chargers. I would like to see the Chargers take the AFC or take that division. We'll start with take the division. I don't think the Chiefs are going to be the Chiefs anymore. I just think that people are catching up to them, whether it be schematically or coaching-wise. I really do think that I don't even know if the I don't think the Chiefs will even make the AFC Championship game. And then, you know, you can call that what you want. You can call it being upset that the Chiefs are as good as they are or have been as good as they are. I just I don't see them getting there. I I see more of like a Bills, Chargers AFC championship game, possibly Patriots. They're gonna be better with AJ Brown. So I mean I I really do I think that it's gonna be if I had to predict right now, today, for a Super Bowl next year in February or March, whenever the hell they pushed it back to. I'd say Rams. I would want I want to see Rams Chargers. That's what I want to see. It's gonna be between the Chargers, the Bills, and the Ravens. I mean the Patriots, I think, will have that Super Bowl hangover, especially with everything going on with Rabel. So my pick's gonna be Chargers Rams for Super Bowl next year. I think Stafford and the Rams take it, personally. If you guys don't like that, go ahead. Okay, you can give me you can give me some crap online, or you can tell me that I suck. I really don't care. A couple hot takes that I have for the show today, and I kind of just talked on it. I don't think the like I said, I don't think the Chiefs make the AFC championship game next season. The other big question I can kind of go back to the NBA here. How many of you guys think that the Timberwolves missed their championship window? That's kind of a big topic that I'd like to talk about eventually with somebody or with you know fans or whoever. I think it's possible that they may have. Because Anthony Edwards is getting fed up with with things. So we'll we'll we can talk about that at another time. Maybe I'll bring that up on Boss Two Boys with Tony, uh see what he thinks. I he I know he's not much for talking about stuff like that, but you never know. He might definitely might definitely want to talk about something

Why This Solo Podcast Exists

SPEAKER_02

like that. I know him and I haven't put out an episode in a while, which is why I've kind of started to do this and started to get a little more focused on the Rough Bunker sports podcast. And let me just dive into some some of that personally, personal stuff, uh, with that. You know, we're not mad at each other, we're not obviously we're we're best friends. We're we're just busy. I mean, people are busy, people have jobs, people have families. He goes to the lake. I have you know four kids. My son just graduated a couple weeks ago, and we have his grad party going on soon. I I have basketball with my girls here, starting for summer, summer ball, and stuff like that. So we'll be traveling a little bit for that. You know, I work, he works stuff all the time. You know, we still see each other, we still hang out, we still do stuff. It's just a little harder for us to get together what you know once or twice a week to do stuff like this. And that's it's no fault of mine or his or anything like that. It's just we have lives and we've always said from the beginning of this whole thing that we won't sacrifice that for this kind of stuff. I've always wanted to do a podcast, I've always kind of hemmed and hot about it, and I know that I've been telling people for a while that, you know, oh the podcast is coming, or oh, you know, I'm working on it, or you know, and I always had an excuse not to do it, you know, too tired, not the right stuff, nervous, you know. And I had to get over that. Like I have to get over the fact of You know, I might be judged on some of the stuff that I talk about or some of the stuff that I view differently from people, but you know what? I don't I don't give a shit anymore. I think that my opinion obviously is it's uh well the thing I always t was told was, you know, opinions are like assholes, everybody has one. But I like talking about sports and I like debating sports and I like getting my thoughts out there about sports, and it's gonna be mostly you know basketball, football. I'll talk some high school stuff around the area, around my area, but I don't know a lot about hockey. I don't want to talk about sports that I don't know a lot about. So if you're looking, I know that the title of the podcast kind of refers to golf. I'm very new to golf. I like golf, I like to go golfing. There's a bunch of us, I wouldn't say a bunch, there's a few of us right now in our friend group that golf together, you know, and I'm the most novice one out of all of us. But I'm definitely I'm willing to learn, obviously, and I've been willing to look like an asshole and look stupid and stuff like that, but I'm learning, and you know, it's not something that you just jump into and are good at. Golf is a sport where you you could play for 50 years and still not be very good. That's just from what I've heard. So we're gonna kind of cover a lot of different stuff on this podcast, and I and I and I want to make it very transparent that I've never played any sort of high-level sports, I just have sports opinions, and if you don't like it, I don't care. It's it's fun for me, it's something that I enjoy talking about, like I said, and it's something with an experience that I want to have with a podcast. I do some coaching, I haven't done any high-level coaching. I've coached women's basketball or girls' basketball for about 10 or 10 or 12 years. Had a great time, I had a great time doing it. Recently got this last season, I was my first season as the junior varsity coach of the local high school that were is here that I went to. Coaching with you could say a local legend. He's amazing, good coach, good dude. His dad was my high school basketball coach. Uh his dad is the winningest. Well, as of today, maybe. I don't know if it is any well, maybe not today, I don't know. He had or has the most wins in Minnesota basketball history at a coaching level for high school. I got to coach with his son this last year, and uh amazing. Amazing, amazing, amazing. I looked up to him as a kid. He was kind of a local idol. He definitely taught me more about basketball in the last season than I've learned my entire life, whether it be from a coaching X's and O'standpoint or from a just how you care about players and how you care about kids and how you deal with parents and how you deal with all this other stuff outside of the gym. So just if he listens to this, that's awesome. Thank you for everything. I'm looking forward to the next however many years you and I decide to do this together. So, I mean, and like I said, I don't I've haven't had a ton of high-level coaching, or actually no high-level coaching, but I have dealt with parents at the high school level and the elementary level and the junior high level for the last 12, 10 to 12 years. So I definitely have some opinions on that kind of stuff. And we'll talk more about that, or I'll discuss more about that later. I'm trying not to get this episode too ridiculously long because I know Tony and I talk and talk and talk and talk in our episodes, and they're they're they're normally about an hour, hour and some minutes long. So, I mean, there's there's a lot of stuff that I'll cover. You know, maybe I'll cover some personal other stuff. Maybe I'll talk about some life struggles that I've had or that my family's had over the last however many years or months or whatever like that, if people are interested in that. So somewhere where I can go and I can talk and I can get stuff out there. So that's kind of the basis on what I want to do. And we'll do I'll do some top 10 lists, I'll do some some thoughts on you know the GOAT lists and stuff like that. Something that I can definitely bring back, or you guys can debate with me. And, you know, I know everybody likes to talk of LeBron and Jordan and this and that, but I don't know how much I'm gonna do on that kind of subject, because that's it's such it's such it's such a difference in opinion, which is good. Which is good, which is kind of what I'm going for here, but it's also a difference in position and stuff like that. So we're we're we'll see where this goes. We'll see how much interaction I can get with you guys. Like I said, we'll talk football, we'll talk basketball, I'll do a kind of a March Madness segment. NBA finals is right now. We talked about that already. So doing all that kind of stuff, I know that we're gonna we're gonna try and get all that in. So just give me your thoughts, give me some feedback, let me know what you think about that kind of stuff.

More Sponsor Codes And The Why

SPEAKER_02

We do also partner you partnery. That's that was pretty bad. Partner with Dubby. Dubby is a energy drink, but better type like powder. Kind of what they do is it's a feel-good product that starts with you know it started from a good idea. Just create energy drinks that gave focus, no dritters, or crash. So it and it tastes really good. I have the dragonade, and I have had the fruit punch and stuff like that. So it is really, really, really good stuff. I really enjoy it. Go check them out. And the and the reason that I'm giving you guys these on the Rough Bunker Sports Podcast is because Tony and I are doing this together. Like, we're a team. I'm not trying to take anything away from you know the sauna company and him and I on our podcast. This is my venture. The rough rough bunker sports podcast is my venture alone. And I'm I and I'm not leaning away from anything that Tony and I have already done. So just know that. Don't don't think that I'm trying to do this just because you know I want to go out on my own and do my own thing. It's just something that I've always wanted to do. So the Shankin Golf one again, go ahead and check out all their stuff. They have den caddies, they have bags, head covers, three-quarter zips, some sweatshirts, hats, things like that. Go check their stuff out. They're my favorite. They're my personal favorite. I Tony and I wear their stuff every time we go golfing. Again, they're that code to use on their website is BASTU8675. That's B-A-S-T-U-8675. And go ahead and look at their stuff. It's some pretty cool, it's really cool. I I enjoy it. I'll probably wear one today to a grad party just because, just because I can, just because I want to.

Minnesota Corner Big Questions

SPEAKER_02

So next thing I'm gonna do, I have a I have a segment called Minnesota Corner, and it kind of just gives a couple questions and a couple debates on the Vikings, the Timberwolves. Maybe I'll touch on the twins a little bit, even though you know they're pretty irrelevant. But Minnesota Corner today, Vikings question, and you guys give me your feedback on this. I just want to know your thoughts. I'm gonna give mine, you give me yours. Can JJ McCarthy finally end the quarterback curse of the Minnesota Vikings? Now, my thought, my my thinking on this, if we allow him to develop and we give him the chance to be the best version of himself, I think we can. I think he can. He is the most athletic young quarterback, most accomplished young quarterback that we've had in the building in a very, very long time. Now, the big thing there is are we as a team and an organization willing to wait for him to get there? Because with Justin Jefferson, Addison, Darisau, you know, some of these other big guys on the roster, they're in their prime. Like they're they want to win now. And they're ready to win now. And I don't know if JJ McCarthy is necessarily ready to win right now. So as an organization, the new GM, the new general manager is gonna have to make a decision on if we are willing to trade him away and get some draft capital and stick with a veteran if Kyler Murray does Kyler Murray like he should.

SPEAKER_01

Or do we tear everything down around him and let him struggle and let him, you know, become that quarterback with rookie contracts around him? That's the big thing. Can he do it? Possibly, with the right process around him, maybe.

SPEAKER_02

But Justin Jefferson's not gonna wait. Hawkinson's only getting older, Addison can barely ever stay on the field because he's always getting arrested driving too too fast. Darisao needs to stay on the field defensively, we'll see what happens there. But like I said, it all depends on his div on how he develops. And if we give him a shot, uh what we see in OTAs and minicamp and preseason. So give me your thoughts on that. Again, the question was can JJ McCarthy finally end or break the Vikings quarterback curse? Give me your thoughts. Let me let me hear what you s want to say. On the Timberwolves side, I kind of already touched on this too, but I want your feedback on it.

SPEAKER_01

For Timberwolves, can Anthony Edwards become the best player in the NBA? My opinion, I think he already is.

SPEAKER_02

He is a three-level scorer, he's one of the most athletic guards probably to ever play basketball.

SPEAKER_01

He can shoot, he can drive, he can dunk, he plays defense. Like I said before, I I think he's already there. But give me your thoughts and opinions on that. I'm not gonna I'm not going to push on that too much anymore.

SPEAKER_02

Let's talk about the twins. Now I haven't watched a lot of baseball, maybe some of you have, but let me know what you think on this. I'm just gonna say the question and give my my quick opinion on it. Twins, buy or sell for the twins. Buy or sell twins are contenders. Obviously, I think they're not. They're in the worst division in baseball. I don't think they've been contenders since the early 2000s. With Torrey Hunter, Eddie Gordado, Joe Maurer, Justin Morneau, Nick Punto, Doug Mankavich, like Luis Rivas. I just don't think that they're anywhere close, and hopefully with new ownership that can change. Let me know what you guys think about that. I'm not gonna stick on that for too long.

Predictions Plus Fan Wagers

SPEAKER_02

So I think I'm gonna do my picks for everything here. For I already kind of picked the couple winners, you know, NBA Finals, like I said, my head says the Spurs, my heart says the Knicks. Uh Stanley Cup winner. I don't really talk much hockey, but I will just because my one of my friends' favorite team is the Carolina Hurricanes. I'm gonna take the Hurricanes in six. They tied it up last night. I think that they have a good shot. NFL MVP, but I already said my pick. I think it's gonna be Matt Stafford. I I really do. I think he's he's not it's not even gonna be close. Unless barring injury, I'm taking Matt Stafford. And also Super Bowl winner. I did say that I think the Rams are gonna win the whole thing, probably playing one of three teams out of the AFC. I'll keep track of these, and I'll, you know, as the thing as stuff keeps happening, uh obviously we can track right now, or I can look at right now NBA Finals and Stanley Cup, and then towards the NFL season, we'll definitely get into that. And if you guys want to do a simple wager, whether it be for a hat, for a shirt, for a sweatshirt, for a guest appearance, something like that, give me a shout. Let me know, see what you want to do. We can definitely go ahead and do that. I want some fan interaction too, obviously. I'm gonna post this on the Boss Two Boys site just because I want to keep our social medias kind of organized. So I'll post the episode and I'll I'll post you know things like that on the Boss Two Boys website and on their face on my Facebook and on the Boss Two Boys Facebook and Instagram and TikTok and stuff like that. So I want to get it, I want to get some fan interaction, and I'm gonna I'm going to make it a point every week to do this once you guys start sending stuff in and start giving me some some BS or some good stuff.

SPEAKER_01

Question of the week here before I get into a top ten list.

SPEAKER_02

My fan interaction segment, I I I want it, I want names. I want to I want to get a name for the segment, first off. But I also I want you guys to give me some feedback on what you think and your answers to this question. And I'll read comments and things like that. Or if I talk to people outside of the show and they give me feedback on it, I'll I'll definitely shout you guys out on here too.

SPEAKER_01

So the fan interaction question of the week.

Hottest Take LeBron Over Jordan

SPEAKER_01

What's the hottest sports take you actually believe? Now that can range anywhere from any sport, does not matter. I will not discriminate on what sport you want to talk about there, or you think is the hottest take.

SPEAKER_00

In my opinion, I'll give you mine. LeBron's better than Michael Jordan. He is. He's a better basketball player. He just is.

SPEAKER_01

And if you can tell me why you think otherwise, other than mentioning 6-0, I will listen.

SPEAKER_00

I will listen.

SPEAKER_01

Because LeBron James has succeeded everywhere he went, every team he left completely folded, had a lottery pick the next year, he has the most points scored in NBA history. He has won a championship everywhere he's gone and an MVP. He's had three different Hall of Fame careers at three different stops. He has played more Hall of Famers in the playoffs or finals than Michael Jordan.

SPEAKER_02

Michael Jordan did not win for his first six years in the league. LeBron brought his no-name Cavaliers to the finals with zero help. And you can argue all you want that the East was not good when LeBron played there. If you can name me, let's see, more than if you can name one team with more than three All-Stars or three Hall of Famers on it that Michael Jordan had to go through, I will I'm welcome to hear it.

SPEAKER_00

So that's my hot take. Okay.

SPEAKER_02

I want to hear yours. You just heard mine. Now, I do have I I do want to do a top ten list every week just for the sake of the

Top 10 Athletes Worth Seeing

SPEAKER_02

show. And I I think it's a good idea. And I and I like and I like this kind of stuff. Now, my top ten this this week or today is gonna be the top ten athletes I'd pay money to go and watch. And you know, you can agree, disagree, whatever. These are just the ones that I that I would really want to go watch. Uh, that I enjoy watching. And these aren't in any particular order. This is just ten people that I really want to go watch live, in person, at an event. Okay. Anthony Edwards is one of them. Call me a homer, do whatever you want to do. He's just exciting to watch. Shohei Otani, best player in baseball. We'll we will never see this again. Shohei is unbelievable. Pitches, hits. He'd he'd be a Cy Young MVP, whether he's on the mound or in the batter's box. He's proved that already. Hockey-wise, I think Connor McDavid is probably the most exciting player in hockey. Has been for a while. I just I really enjoy watching him, and I don't watch a lot of hockey. Now, this might be bias b bias or you know, whatever, because I coach girls' basketball. Caitlin Clark and another one's Paige Becker's. She's amazing. Caitlin Clark has changed women's basketball so much that people are pissed off that it's on TV. People are pissed off that these women are actually now getting paid. People are pissed off because now they have a voice in sports. Like, and they should. They should. You look at all the women that paved the way for Caitlin Clark, Angel Reese, Sabrina Esco, Brianna Stewart, all these girls or women that are playing right now. I want to watch women's basketball. And you can call me, you can say whatever you want about that. You can say it's boring, you can say that there's no entertainment value to it. Women's basketball is the most fundamental basketball that you can possibly watch. That's why it's fun. Because you have to be able to dribble, you have to be able to pass, you have to play passing lanes. Men's basketball, it's all about dunks, threes, and athleticism. If you enjoy the game of basketball and the way that it's supposed to be played, women's basketball is a way to go. Don Staley at South Carolina, you know, Pat Summit, one of my favorite coaches of all time. Gino, you I can go on and on about it. Women's basketball is is so much fun to watch and so entertaining if you really enjoy the game. And I wouldn't pay really good money to see Caitlin Clark or Paige Becker's play. Now, obviously, getting into the golf game, Rory McElroy is one of them, one of the people that I want to watch. Uh, I would still pay money to see Tiger Woods. I really, really would. I'd probably pay money to see John Daly just because he's such a different golf character that he'd be hard to take my eyes off of. On the NFL side, man, I really love to see Peyton Manning play again, but I can't say him. Peyton Manning's my favorite player of all time. Probably the smartest quarterback to ever play the foot play the game. So, and I'm a big Tennessee Vols fan, so that that's a topic for another day. But in the NFL right now, I think Patrick Mahomes is an easy that's an easy one. I mean, when you got peak Pat Mahomes, it's hard. It's hard not to want to see it. It's it really, really is. I think another player that I'd really love to see play in the NFL live, and I've seen him play before, but is Justin Jefferson. He's electric. He really is. He he gets a ball, a deep ball, you know, a slant. It reminds me so much of Randy Moss back in back in the early 2000s and late, late 90s. Hard to take my eyes off of it. And then the two guys that are in the NBA finals. I'd love to watch Jalen Brunson play. Just the heart of this guy that is not big. He's not supposed to be doing what he's doing. Jalen Brunson's definitely one of them. And then Victor Weminyama. To see a guy that's seven foot five, I think it'd be pretty cool. The dude's like two feet taller than me. It's crazy. So I think that'd be pretty cool to see. Now, this isn't gonna be a normal thing for my top ten lists where I'm just gonna ramble, kind of ramble through it. But these are the names that I would love to see watch play live. If you have anybody else, or if I missed anybody in today's current, other than Tiger Woods, obviously, and Peyton Manning, but if there's anybody else that I missed that you would want to see live, definitely tell me I'm wrong. And that's fine. I can be wrong. I'm married, I'm told I'm wrong all the time. So that's so that's gonna conclude episode one of the Rough Bunker Sports Podcast again.
