Reflection Questions
1. Abraham continues to act in faith even in old age (Gen 25:1-6), ordering his household and protecting the covenant line. How does this challenge you to finish well in the season you are in? Where do you need to take faithful action rather than coast spiritually?
2. Abraham dies, but the promises of God continue through Isaac. (Gen 25:7-11) How does this passage reshape the way you think about your legacy? What are you doing now that will matter spiritually after you are gone?
3. In Genesis 25:11, Isaac settles at the well where God met Hagar in her distress.
Where has God met you in past seasons of pain, and how might He be calling you to return to those places with renewed trust?
4. God fulfills His word to Ishmael (Gen 25:12-18) even though Ishmael is not the child of promise. How does this passage challenge your assumptions about who God blesses and why? Where do you need to trust God’s sovereignty rather than your expectations?
5. Genesis 25 shows God moving His redemptive story forward through ordinary people, ordinary families, and ordinary generations. How does this passage invite you to trust God’s providence in the ordinary moments of your life this week?
