What separates truly fulfilling businesses from those that merely generate profit? The answer lies in three forgotten practices that transform ordinary entrepreneurship into kingdom-minded leadership.
Coach Martin reveals these three overlooked principles that can revolutionize your business approach. First, he emphasizes the spiritual discipline of celebrating wins—both significant achievements and small victories. Drawing from biblical examples where God Himself celebrates victories, Coach Martin demonstrates how acknowledgment of progress fuels motivation and cultivates gratitude. He transparently shares his own business wins from the past month, modeling how celebration becomes a practical business strategy.
The second forgotten principle reframes how we view our work: your business isn't just a business—it's a ministry. Through a touching story about his wife's walking group and its profound impact on participants' lives, Coach Martin illustrates how seemingly ordinary business activities can become divine appointments. When we recognize our entrepreneurial efforts as ministry opportunities, we discover deeper purpose behind our products and services.
Prayer emerges as the third transformative practice, with Coach Martin providing specific guidance for implementing this spiritual discipline in business contexts. He advocates praying specifically for team members' personal challenges, displaying prayer requests visibly as reminders, and seeking divine guidance for new opportunities to expand impact. This intentional, consistent prayer practice aligns business activities with God's purposes and invites His wisdom into daily operations.
These three principles—celebration, ministry-mindedness, and prayer—create a framework for kingdom-minded success that honors God while serving people effectively. Ready to transform your approach? Speaker 2Hey everybody, I'm Coach Martin, host of the Coach Martin Show and super excited to be on today. Today we're going to give you three nuggets, so three forgotten pieces that can change everything in your business. So I kind of want to go through these. As I was writing them, I was kind of going through and I was thinking like, hey, these are things that you know. Initially they could appear that you know we already do it or we kind of take them for granted, but I think more often than not we take them for granted. So I want to go through three pieces. Number one I want you to get to the point where we start celebrating our wins. So think about this.
Speaker 2A lot of times, unless it's a really big win, we just kind of, like, you know, throw it off on the back burner and we don't really celebrate it. And I think, as business owners, sometimes wins are hard to come by Right, especially at the beginning, when you're like going through it and you're trying to build your business and trying to get it to where it's off the ground. Or now that you got it off the ground, you're trying to get it to where it becomes profitable and we forget about the small wins. So you want to take the time to celebrate even the smallest wins, do it every single month. I always think of a couple of verses in the Bible, one where it says you know, um, you know, there's a there. There's a celebration in heaven. You know, there's a celebration in heaven just when one sinner, you know, gets saved, just one. They celebrate God, celebrates God, and the angels celebrate the wins. So celebrate the wins.
Speaker 2I also think of the story of the prodigal son. I know, you probably know it, where the father had two kids. One kid wanted his inheritance. The father gave him the inheritance, he took off, he squandered it away. Squandered it away, spent all the money. You know, long story short, he ends up coming back. The father sees them, runs to him, kisses them, you know, puts the robe on him, throws a big party. The father celebrated a win. Now, that was a big win, but the father still celebrated the win. So we need to get to the point where we celebrate these wins Now.
Speaker 2With that being said, I want to share quickly some wins that we had in our business for the month of July. We had some businesses come on and I'm going to name them Grind Mode Athletics, elite Scouts, total Ball Game Recruiting, next Level Recruiting, the Recruiting Advisors, game Time advisors, game time recruiting, south Bay sports training. And we had a high school. They just renewed a third year in a row, perryview High School out in Missouri. So those are big wins, so we want to celebrate those wins.
Your Business Is Also Ministry
Speaker 2Okay, number two. Number two is remember, right, remember that your business, yes, it's a business, but it's also a ministry, and I have a great story that I want to share regarding it that always reminds me of this point that our business is a ministry. So my wife spent on this kick for the last year where she went and she lost weight, and for all of last year she counted her calories and she tracked her food and she lost weight. Well, january this year she started a walking group in our community and now that group gets to where, like sometimes on a daily walk, where they'll have 10 women that are walking with her. And it's pretty interesting because she told me the story that not long ago there's a girl that started with her in January and the girl told her that, hey, she says you know, carrie, and this lady's lost, I think, 35 pounds already this year, which is amazing. Like in a half a year, she's already lost 35 pounds. But the lady told my wife hey, I want you to know that and I've been praying for this, and I've been praying for you forever, and now, here you are doing this thing. So I think sometimes we forget that our business is a ministry, that we can truly impact people in a mighty, mighty way, not just by giving them work and allowing them to be able to have a paycheck, but in much greater areas. So I always feel like we should treat our business like a ministry, because it is a ministry that God has us in right. So we have an opportunity to really make a difference and have people feel the same way, just like that lady feels regarding my wife.
Speaker 2So the third thing I want to talk about is the third piece is pray. I know that sometimes that can look as like just a given that we should be praying. No, that we should definitely be praying, and I'm going to give you a couple of things. One we should definitely pray for our employees, everyone that's involved, all of our team members. You should be praying for them. I would even encourage you to step out a little bit further and ask them like hey, is there anything this week that you're struggling with? Or, you know, is there anything this month that you really want to accomplish that I can help you with? Right and find out what those things that they're desiring are, those things that they need, and put them on your wall and physically pray for them, like, take a few extra minutes a day and keep those things in your prayer. So pray for your employees, pray for their families, pray for their wants, pray for their needs, like be there.
Speaker 2Second thing I would pray for eyes to see even more opportunity. So, even though your business, you're walking in opportunity and you probably have a product that is serving people in a specific area, there could be even more opportunity for you to serve more people. So I would pray that God even shows you more opportunity that you can literally impact and influence people that are in a space that you physically need. So pray for not only just the people that are there that you work with, but also pray that you have more opportunity and more spaces that maybe your product can be in. And maybe you're thinking to us a second right now if you're thinking like well, wait a minute, coach, you know this is just about money. It's not just about money. The more spaces that your business is in, the more impact you'll have in those spaces. So I always like to look at it like the more spaces that we are in, the more people that we can impact and influence, and ultimately, that's what it's all about anyways. It's about impact and influence those that are lost.
Final Thoughts And Call To Action
Speaker 2So, again, that third piece is praying. Make it consistent. I would encourage you to do it every single day. Do it in the morning, before you even start your day. Pray for your people. Pray for your people, pray for your team, Like, get in there, like be an advocate and go to God on their behalf. I promise you it'll pay dividends.
Speaker 2So those three pieces, three forgotten pieces that could change everything. Number one celebrate the wins, big and small, and tell people about those wins. Tell people, go on social media. Go on social media today and tell people about the wins from the month. Number two make sure you remember that your business isn't just a business, it's a ministry. And number three make sure you pray, pray and pray often. Hey, I'm Coach Martin. If we can help you in any way, shape or form, don't hesitate. Visit us at thecoachmartinshowcom. Be sure to reach out.
