Welcome, welcome, welcome to another episode of Little Coffee Chats with Zack and Kaylee. My name is Zach Mann.
SPEAKER_00And my name is Kayleigh Mann.
SPEAKER_03And you know what I thought of?
unknownWhat?
SPEAKER_03I thought that maybe not everyone knows that we're married. Did you ever think about that?
SPEAKER_00Oh, well, it happens on TikTok. You've pointed that out where some people think that your proper name is Angel.
SPEAKER_03Can you imagine if my name was Angel?
SPEAKER_00I say it enough to believe that, yes, it could be.
SPEAKER_03I would have a different persona if I was Angel. And I'd have more tattoos.
SPEAKER_00Oh my god, I would love if you had some tattoos.
SPEAKER_03I got none.
SPEAKER_00I think that'd be really cool.
SPEAKER_03But today I am wearing a very, very important hat.
SPEAKER_00Tell me about it.
SPEAKER_03Well, we went to the mall.
SPEAKER_00And which mall was that?
SPEAKER_03It's called The Oaks. And for all of our, you know, Gen Z uh listeners.
SPEAKER_00Because there are so many of them.
SPEAKER_03Uh a mall is a place that has physical stores and uh usually very uh unhealthy snacks.
SPEAKER_00Yeah.
SPEAKER_03And you can go there and actually buy stuff in person with people, real humans.
SPEAKER_00Crazy. Well, okay, you say this like you grew up going to the mall. You didn't even grow up going to a mall. You don't even know mall culture.
SPEAKER_03I don't. I have no idea what a mall really is. And also that mall that we went to at the Oaks is gigantic.
SPEAKER_00It's one of the biggest malls I've ever been in with not that many stores.
SPEAKER_03It started It started out where we were outside the mall and it was an outdoor mall. Yeah.
SPEAKER_00And I was like, I thought that was gonna be it.
SPEAKER_03This is you know big and there's stuff here. Okay, great. And then all of a sudden, there's like this huge escalator. Remember that?
SPEAKER_00Yeah.
SPEAKER_03That was like almost so big. I was like, are we like in Jurassic Park? And we went down the escalator, and then all of a sudden there's just like this indoor mall that we didn't even expect to find to find. And sure enough, we open it up and it's like maybe the biggest indoor mall I've ever been to.
SPEAKER_00Well, maybe it just now that I'm reflecting upon it, maybe it just seems so big because it really doesn't have that many stores. Like it could have the same square footage as Kenwood, the inside part. Okay. But Kenwood is like packed with stores.
SPEAKER_03That's true.
SPEAKER_00You know what I mean? Like it felt like lots of big spaces without much in it. Yeah.
SPEAKER_03It's a little bit like um, it's a little yeah, it's a little empty. But yeah, by the time we left, within about what, 25 minutes, it was busier than when we arrived.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, and we we went in with the intention of just walking around and we left uh with how many hats?
SPEAKER_03Well, that's the thing. We went into a lids on our way to go see some of our best friends, uh, Kendall and Easton, in uh wherever they live. I won't say where they live. And we were gonna hang out with them. And so I didn't want to come empty-handed. And so we ended up at this lid store, and sure enough, there's this incredible von Dutch pink hat that just had your name all over it. It does. And Kendall also loves pink and is like very girly like you. So it was like, okay, we have to get these matching pink Von Dutch hats. And then, well, I had to bring something for Easton. So then I found this brown camo camo hat. I've never worn Von Dutch. I don't even know if Von Dutch even really exists anymore. If it's like under the same like, does someone buy the name?
SPEAKER_00Oh, I think so, because we watched the Von Dutch documentary. Remember that?
SPEAKER_03So we kind of bought it on like a joke, very much like a joke.
SPEAKER_00Kind of like a joke and kind of not a joke at all.
SPEAKER_03Yeah, because also the hats were like the most expensive hats I've ever seen. Once I was in on the bit, they were like, Yeah. It was shocking. Yeah. And so now I have to wear it, otherwise, it's a waste of money. But anyway, we brought them over to uh Kendall and Easton, and we all wore our hats together, which were cute.
SPEAKER_00Honestly, the spirit of the mall moved us. Yeah. And the way that I feel about Von Dutch is the way that I feel about Juicy Couture and Abercrombie and Fitch, which is Wait, hold on.
SPEAKER_03Does Victoria's Secret go into that as well or no?
SPEAKER_00No, because what I was gonna say is the way that I feel about Von Dutch, Abercrombie, Juicy Couture is that I couldn't afford those in high school. So like I didn't have them. So for me to buy them now and wear them is really fun. I'm like, cool. I think it's like all cool again.
SPEAKER_03Who was wearing that stuff in high school?
SPEAKER_00Everyone.
SPEAKER_03Okay.
SPEAKER_00I mean, people were wearing, I don't know if Von Dutch as much. That could have been a little bit more West Coast.
SPEAKER_01Okay.
SPEAKER_00Like, I don't know where you found Von Dutch in Cincinnati, Ohio. But there also was an affinity for like Billabong and Roxy and stuff like that too. Like the ocean was kind of hot in the early aughts.
SPEAKER_03Was Von Dutch uh an affliction? Were they in the same world or no? That I don't know.
SPEAKER_00I can't speak to affliction. I'm not sure what that is.
SPEAKER_03Oh, really?
SPEAKER_00Yeah.
SPEAKER_03Well, you don't know what affliction is? What's affliction? That's like a brand. I don't know. It's a brand of shirts.
SPEAKER_00It was like doing like big did not come across my desk.
unknownOh, okay.
SPEAKER_03They're still around. Affliction's now like really into UFC, but at the time they were like really expensive t-shirts with like huge graphic prints on it for guys.
SPEAKER_00No.
SPEAKER_03No.
SPEAKER_00Okay, I need you to just brush your shoulder a little bit because you shaved right before this and your hair is all over your shoulder. Covered in hair. Okay, okay. When you're so much better.
SPEAKER_03When you're a hairy guy and you shave, you will have hairs everywhere until you shave again.
SPEAKER_00And all over me, too.
SPEAKER_03It gets duck to Kaylee's lips and have to like surgically remove them.
SPEAKER_00Because they're as sharp as splinters. Yeah, I can get splinters with my own hair. Why don't we just keep bragging about how much hair you have and how strong it is?
SPEAKER_03Well, it's getting it's getting grayer and grayer, which is very sad.
SPEAKER_00So oh come on.
SPEAKER_03Well, it is.
SPEAKER_00I mean how long has your father's hair been all white?
SPEAKER_03I I don't want to think of myself as my dad's.
SPEAKER_00I know, but that's you've known that's kind of your destiny. It's every man's destiny. Your hair for the most part on your head is still so dark.
SPEAKER_03Yeah, my hairline's good. And your hairline is really good. The hairline's good. The hairline matters more than most things uh when it comes to the aging process, because that's like the real big indicator for people is like how much hair do you have versus is it white or or dark or whatever, right? Like I get that. And I can easily just put on fake color, which a lot of guys do.
SPEAKER_00I mean, yeah, and you make fun of it all the time.
SPEAKER_03Well, yeah, because now the cameras are so good. I mean, think about these old fat. Yeah, like back in the day, if you were like a famous actor, you could just get away with being shot on film and it was grainy and you could be in you can have I mean the guys look much older back then, but still like you could hide that gray. Now it's like oof.
SPEAKER_01You're great.
SPEAKER_03This camera right here, if I was painting this brown, it would look so goofy.
SPEAKER_00I think I have a solution for this. I think we get like really, yeah. I think that's not like just for men, but I think you get like an eyebrow shell thing, and I can just fill it in.
SPEAKER_03Maybe we'll do it occasionally just for the hell of it, but I don't want to do it. I'm it's okay. I need to not care that much.
SPEAKER_00Flash forward to next week because you just have the darkest beard.
SPEAKER_03You're so funny. I mean one dimension. One April Fools, I should do that.
SPEAKER_00Oh my god.
SPEAKER_03When's that? That's soon. You hate April Fools.
SPEAKER_00Wednesday. I don't like April Fools.
SPEAKER_03Okay, well, let's jump into stuff.
SPEAKER_00Okay, fine. Because we're in it.
SPEAKER_03Let's get into it. Kaylee. Um, we have to talk about the Summer House drama.
SPEAKER_00I know we have to. I was like, no, I don't want to talk about drama that's not on the show, but there's it feels like Scandinav.
SPEAKER_03Fill us in, please. Fill us all in because I haven't actually been paying attention to it. It's not across my TikTok or my Instagram or it's all that I see. Where is it? Who's talking about it? Tell us everything.
SPEAKER_00Dumois, all of the Bravo accounts, uh, not like Bravo TV, but like the Bravo fan, like uh Queens of Bravo, and like all of the Bravo fan accounts. And what is it? What okay, so tell us I just want to go on the record and say that on February 23rd, I texted a friend of mine who was really into Bravo and I said, we were talking about Bronwyn and how she was dating someone new. And I said, uh, as an aside, do you think it's absolutely insane of me to think that Amanda and West are possibly dating? They seem to be hanging out a ton, they're always in each other's photos or in the background. It just seems like a lot to me.
SPEAKER_01Sure.
SPEAKER_00Now flash forward to this past week. March 20 something. One month later, basically. One month later. Rumors had already come up earlier in the month that they were like spotted holding hands or like kissing or something.
SPEAKER_01Whoa.
SPEAKER_00And I think Amanda on a podcast previously shut down the rumors and said that she would like never touch anyone in the house.
SPEAKER_01Okay.
SPEAKER_00And then but they're still like hanging out so much. And then West was on Watch What Happens live this week, and which I think was filmed the week prior. They I think they filmed the filming schedule's a little different from when it's released.
SPEAKER_01Okay.
SPEAKER_00And he didn't immediately shut it down. He said something to the effect of, I care a lot about her. You know, she's single now. Yeah. So I'm showing her the streets, but I care a lot about her. And if it isn't clear, we're not together, or something like that. It was super roundabout, where it's like, if it were a no, I think you would just be like, oh my god, no, I love her so much. But like, you know, we're just having fun hanging out as a group and whatever.
SPEAKER_03What's their age difference? Because she's older than Amanda.
SPEAKER_00Um, I don't, I think they're pretty close in age, actually. Amanda is much younger than Kyle.
SPEAKER_03Right, because Kyle's even older than me by year.
SPEAKER_00I think you guys are like the same age.
SPEAKER_03Yeah, 42, 43. Uh-huh. He just had his birthday party in the episode.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, and I don't remember how old he turned. Yeah, okay. But so I think it's weird that West kind of talked around it a little bit.
SPEAKER_03Yeah.
SPEAKER_00And then I think there was a something came out this week that someone has a picture of West and Amanda kissing, and they reached out to Sierra and showed Sierra.
SPEAKER_03Oh my god.
SPEAKER_00And then Amanda and Sierra were scheduled to do a shared Amazon live. I think in Palm Springs, actually, like in Palm Desert or something. And um they were they did promo for it together, saying that you know it was gonna be live, the two of them together. And then they ended up doing it separately this like past Thursday or Friday.
SPEAKER_01Whoa.
SPEAKER_00So everything's like spinning out of control. Then over the weekend, we have Lindsay posts a kind of face reaction shot from the show, which is the same face that she uh in the episode, it was the episode where Amanda tells Sierra and Lindsay that Kyle like slept the night, like stayed the night at a fans or house or whatever.
SPEAKER_01Right, right.
SPEAKER_00It's that reaction shot. Carl posted a face reaction shot also from the show, and KJ did.
SPEAKER_03Oh my god.
SPEAKER_00And like, so people are like, oh, is this PR just for the show? Is this PR for the new show, the city?
SPEAKER_03That's what I think.
SPEAKER_00Are they not gonna say anything and put the rumors to rest until the reunion and all this? I just think it's too many people to orchestrate and to hold this PR scheme. I think it's a lot of people to have be on board for this. I think Amanda, I don't think would want to be painted in this light for this long. And I really don't think Sierra would be down for this as like a PR stunt.
SPEAKER_03Are they friends, like really good friends? What's their story?
SPEAKER_00Because it's like the question was that they weren't really the best of friends until Paige left. Like Paige was the one who kind of connected the two of them.
SPEAKER_03Because Paige and Sierra are really close.
SPEAKER_00Well, and Paige was uh, yes, and Paige was a bridesmaid for Amanda. Right. But Paige has also experienced being in the middle of Amanda and Hannah.
SPEAKER_01Right.
SPEAKER_00And Hannah and Amanda kind of, you know, fell apart. But Paige still maintained her friendship with both people just separately.
SPEAKER_03So where's Paige on this? Has she? We don't know. Okay.
SPEAKER_00We haven't really seen anything yet.
SPEAKER_03Because that would be probably that would be pretty telling.
SPEAKER_00Yeah. I I also think, you know, Amanda. Unfortunately, I just she's super cl she's been super close this season with West. I've I've seen it. I'm like, they're very close. He seems very protective of her. Sure. Which I think is like, you know, uh, he's been acting in the right when it comes to like standing up for Amanda. But like, I don't know, there's there is a level of closeness already that I've watched where I'm just like, I don't know. I also have never had a lot of straight male friends.
SPEAKER_01Right.
SPEAKER_00So I don't know what's like friendly and not friendly and like too much, or I don't know.
SPEAKER_03But I've been watching the show too. And West Tommy. Well, West has been very adamant about wanting to get back with Sierra too. Like that's been way more of like a storyline that the editing allows us to really see. So it would be very I don't okay. All of the cast members posting, most of the cast members posting a face, it may feel a little bit calculated to just lean into the rumors for ratings. I'm sorry, it doesn't, yeah, it actually feels less interesting. It feels like it's more calculated for ratings than it does that they're actually shocked and they're like doing that because like they try they pretend at least that they don't want to talk about other people's stuff and rumors and all that on the show. Then all of a sudden do this would feel like breaking some of that trust that they have with each other, especially like with housewives, they talk about that a lot where it's like you know, we don't want to go into speculation and rumor and da-da-da-da. Yeah, so maybe it's all just a way to get us to watch the city because Paige is on the city, right?
SPEAKER_00I don't think so.
SPEAKER_03Oh, she's done completely.
SPEAKER_00I think.
SPEAKER_03Oh, okay. Either way, either way. Wait, who's on the city then?
SPEAKER_00Lindsay, Amanda, Kyle, Carl, I think.
SPEAKER_03Oh, I didn't realize those boys were on there too. I think it's calcul, I think it's calculated.
SPEAKER_00But I don't think, like, I don't think KJ would get involved in the drama. He's not, he's just posting a picture of a I mean, I'm just I guess, I guess.
SPEAKER_03Look, it'll all come out at the reunion. It's gonna keep us watching and guessing. If the next few episodes are edited and we see this potentially buddy in relationship, like really, that will tell us everything. Especially especially the next episode.
SPEAKER_00Oh, yeah. I to me there's enough where it's just like even if it's not a relationship or hooking up, there's like a closeness there that would really upset me if I were Sierra. Really? I think so. Okay. I think that would be super weird. Why not? I think it would be really weird if my one of my close friends wanted to date an ex that she knew like I was I had like a really hard time recovering from.
SPEAKER_03Okay, you're saying date, but what if it was just that they have a really close friendship? That was because I are there no other friend options? Just being yeah, being friend. You just said date, and I was like, wait a minute, what is it?
SPEAKER_00I know, but I'm saying, why does that need to be your friend? Like one of your closest friends. Like, why didn't why would Wes need to be well they're they do a lot of things as friends?
SPEAKER_03Yeah. Look, the the the biggest thing that's on your side of it being real, like you know, I'm trying to play devil's advocate. I don't really know at all. None of us really do. No, is the biggest thing on your side, of course, is that they were supposed to do Sierra and Amanda were supposed to do that thing and they didn't, and okay, that's a pretty big deal. I do think that the next episode or two on the show will tell us because Bravo will lean into stuff.
SPEAKER_00I just don't think we'll see any like fracturing between Sierra and Amanda on the show. I'm not saying that.
SPEAKER_03I'm just saying more if there's something more to West and Amanda, they'll they'll give us some more breadcrumbs. Because they want us to keep watching. This is all good fodder for them.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, everything works out for Bravo ultimately.
SPEAKER_03But they'll but they'll lean into that. We've seen that happen before, but we're like, we got rumors about things, and all of a sudden in the episode, oh shit, there it is. Like, yeah, it's all calculated.
SPEAKER_00I just back to West for a second. I just don't think he has stated clearly enough that he actually wants to be with Sierra. There's not been like, I want to do whatever I can to get her back or anything like that. But he really has spoken out a lot in his support of Amanda and has a lot more emotional depth when it comes to that than the Sierra situation.
SPEAKER_03Yeah, he's willing to really like lean into Kyle.
SPEAKER_00Yeah.
SPEAKER_03Which is uh a bit.
SPEAKER_00And he's someone who says he's not confrontational.
SPEAKER_03Yeah.
SPEAKER_00And it's like, okay, you can do that with Kyle, but you can't just have a real conversation with Sierra. I don't know. I don't know. I am I am very suspicious, and I have been. But I I've been looking for this since February.
SPEAKER_03We love this.
SPEAKER_00I I love it and I don't love it. I don't love it for Sierra.
SPEAKER_03Uh well.
SPEAKER_00I'm just saying I wouldn't be surprised.
SPEAKER_03Yeah, I'm excited to talk next week and see what we what we've learned from the new episodes. Uh let's uh quickly touch on one of your favorite new reality shows in the Braba universe, a show that's returned after a few years off the air. I don't even know how many years, but 10 years off the air or something like that? Doesn't it didn't exist at one point?
SPEAKER_00Yeah, it did. I I forget over 10 years, let's say ladies of London.
SPEAKER_03Hayley.
SPEAKER_00You might be pretty, but this is my city.
SPEAKER_03How do you what do you think about the cast? First impression.
SPEAKER_0010 out of 10. 10 out of 10 cast, amazing cast. It's the I we have a gay man as a part of one of the housewives, so or ladies, so I'm obsessed. Yeah. Um, we have real people being really bitchy on camera and not really caring about the consequences of that. Kimmy? Because Kimmy, especially, because she's that's Kimmy. Kimmy's not gonna change.
SPEAKER_01No.
SPEAKER_00Kimmy has always been like that, probably, and in fact, we'll only double down on being that way. I I don't even remember everyone's names.
SPEAKER_03You've got Kimmy, you've got other people, Emily, Margot, or Emma, Emma, Emma, she's the lady of Ling, Ling, oh shit, Emma Ling Head.
SPEAKER_00Whatever. The cast is amazing. There's some real drama. You have someone get caught in a lie on screen, and she just decides to quit mid-dinner. Oh my god. Dara? Dara. Oh my gosh. There's a woman who's American who's teaching etiquette, who actually is really sweet. I was ready to pull up all that. Um, my favorite is who's my favorite? Margot?
SPEAKER_03Uh yeah, Margot is the actor.
SPEAKER_00Okay, not Margot, no.
SPEAKER_03Martha.
SPEAKER_00Martha. Martha's my favorite because she wears her hair in like a very 1950s style. She lives in what she calls the Gotta Cottage. With her with her bird. What kind of bird is it?
SPEAKER_03It's a magpie.
SPEAKER_00A magpie named Hecate. And Hecate has shit all over the walls.
SPEAKER_03I love how you remember the name of the bird.
SPEAKER_00Because how do you forget Hecate? And also, like when she has a guest come over, the guest has to wear goggles because I guess magpies are anything that moves, like, especially a pupil, they want to like poke at.
SPEAKER_01Yeah.
SPEAKER_00So she gives her best friend like goggles to wear. This is not a bird that you have as a pet. I don't even know where she got this idea. I know.
SPEAKER_03And it's like not gonna make her apartment any or her garage any better. No. With the bird in there. Wait, well, wait, Lottie. She's the uh the pregnant. Yep. And then uh Mika. Mika's the one who's the etiquette uh.
SPEAKER_00Oh, okay, okay. I really don't have anything like super formative to say, but you have to watch it. It's really incredible. It's like the best.
SPEAKER_03Whose accent is your favorite?
SPEAKER_00Um maybe Kimmy, because like she is American, but she's been there long enough where it's like half British, which I think would happen to me. Oh.
SPEAKER_03You people like Martha, you would lean into this like Broadway stage performance.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, I would be like old Hollywood transatlantic slash English.
SPEAKER_03Oh, totally. You'd be like uh uh robe one in the Titanic accent. It'd be so fun. I'd love to you would crush uh an accent contest.
SPEAKER_01Wow, thanks.
SPEAKER_03Well, then you have so then the only other name, um uh Missy, the Swedish-born model and former real housewives of Sheshire star.
SPEAKER_00Wait, which one's Missy?
SPEAKER_03She's the one whose brother was brutally murdered.
SPEAKER_00Oh gosh, yeah, that's horrible. It's a horrible story.
SPEAKER_03Yeah, horrible.
SPEAKER_00I have been guilty of tanking the mood of something that should be light and bright. And you're like, let me tell you this horrible story of mine. I've done that.
SPEAKER_03I I like how Mark Francis was like, it's a wine tasting, like it should be afternoon wine tasting. Yeah, and Kimmy, they're all upset that like you can bring up a serious conversation and like do that. And I and it's it's like so American to talk about like things that are hard, you know, and like be open about stuff. And it's just so British, apparently, from the show, but also I think we've heard a lot about that of like Brits like uh repress a lot of things.
SPEAKER_00Yes, that's I understand that it's just not a polite society thing to do. You're there to like mingle and have fun and whatever. You're not there to open up the darkest corners of your heart.
SPEAKER_03Right. Because that's presumptive that somebody else is going to open up their darkest corners.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, it actually does put a lot on the other guests. I do see that now. It's it's helpful for me to see. Okay, oh yeah, no one wants to read that.
SPEAKER_03But it's not a real guest, it's It's a show, it's not real, it's not really they're going to a winery to hang out, it's a TV show, anyway. I know, but that's a fun show. We've really enjoyed Ladies of London, and um I think there's a lot of people out there who agree.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, watch it, please. You don't even have to watch the previous version of Ladies of London, which if if you do, it's also incredible. But I recommend just go for it. Ladies of London, it's on Peacock.
SPEAKER_03So we um didn't do this last week, but there's been a lot of a lot of new music that's been coming out. And uh it's been really fun to hear musicians have more fun with music. Yeah, it's like everyone's kind of gotten out of like the doldrums of like depression. Well, not everyone, but you know, not everyone. But the music is just more upbeat and more fun. Any standouts for you? Like any albums you're excited about?
SPEAKER_00Okay, well, my well, I'm really excited for some upcoming releases. I know Ray just released her album last week. I love some of the songs. I'm not here for all of the songs. Well, it's a but it's hard, it's a huge album. I've barely had time to digest it.
SPEAKER_03But Clack Symphony with Hans Zimmer. I mean that's a masterpiece.
SPEAKER_00A masterpiece that New Religion, BB Rexa. I love that. Obsessed. I played um in the car today on my way back from Solid Core, and I was just like, I love this. That is high vibes, high energy, great song to run to.
SPEAKER_03Wait, do you have a solid core update for us that you could release here on this show?
SPEAKER_00A solid core update?
SPEAKER_03Yeah, don't you do solid solid Sundays, Solid Core Sundays, something? What's that called?
SPEAKER_00Solidase. That was just during the holidays. Oh, that was like you try to do 10 classes within the span of like 15 days. Okay, and how's that going? I did that, honey. That was in December.
SPEAKER_03Gosh.
SPEAKER_00Do you know what month it is?
SPEAKER_03No, but I didn't know if there was like if there was like an ongoing thing in the solid core community.
SPEAKER_00Let's see how many classes I've taken actually.
SPEAKER_03As someone without a solid core, I just you know, I have to ask these questions.
SPEAKER_00I've taken 43 classes. Wow. Which I think is pretty good. I I've honestly had to like take it down a little bit because now I'm doing more cardio, which was one of my goals, but I can't just I can't do it all. I can't do it all. It's okay. Doing like two classes a week.
SPEAKER_03BB Rexa.
SPEAKER_00BB Rexa, I can't wait for a new Casey. Yeah. Wait, when is Graves? Noah's album.
SPEAKER_03Noah's album drops soon, like very soon. Like next week or the week after? Something like that, yeah. Soon, like near my birthday. Noah Collins' new album is gonna be incredible.
SPEAKER_00Is there a song that has dropped in the last like two weeks that you've just been obsessed with?
SPEAKER_03Well, Ray's Click Clack Symphony, Ray's Um Lifeboat, which is so obviously up my alley, with you know, it's like an inspirational song with EDM. Uh, so that's very much me. Yeah, there's been a lot. Noah's uh Porch Light song, obviously Great Divide. So his first two singles he dropped are fantastic. Um, all from memory. Let's see. Oh, who's this gal? She's so great, and I've never heard of her before until recently.
SPEAKER_00Tell me about this gal.
SPEAKER_03Yeah. Um, hold on, I'll get to it in two seconds. Oh, well, Nessa Barrett's new song, Buffalo 66. You're obsessed.
SPEAKER_00I'm okay on it, but you're obsessed. I know you don't like her because she's so slow in the middle, but I like the part that you like.
SPEAKER_03Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. Uh, okay, you guys. Oh, also Robin's album, a couple bangers on that that I love. Um, oh my gosh, I can't even find it. Wait, Kaylee, help me out here. Uh talk about other stuff.
SPEAKER_00Wait, is it the one that you sent me? Well, I'm still obsessed with Don Tolliver's album that came out at the end of January. That's still like really a lot of favorites are coming from that for me. Um, Save My Love by Kaigo, Khalid, and Griffin. It's just like so peak 2016 to me, and I love bringing it back. Also, even their album art cover is it's like pink, a disco ball green kind of like palm tree. I'm just really into that whole vibe. Oops, sorry.
SPEAKER_03Okay, I got so okay. Um, this is totally aside because I didn't talk about this earlier, but 21 Pilots, um, Drag Path. It's a single they just released. Oh my god, they're so underrated. Uh, but Bella Kaye, uh, never heard of her until this year, and she's you know, young up-and-coming artist. Her song called Steady.
SPEAKER_00Okay. Did you send this to me? Did I listen to that?
SPEAKER_03I think I sent it to you at one point, yeah. Bella Kay, you know, you never know who like the next, like, let's give like Addison Ray, that kind of a thing, where it's like kind of someone who people know about, someone knows about them, right? That's like, oh, they have a little bit of a following, and then all of a sudden they hit this mainstream moment. Like, what who is that person? And sometimes a single can be extremely contagious for a blip, and then the artist kind of goes away, or something can like really catch on, like Dia Pepsi, with you know, again, using her as an example, where it's like that single lasted for a year and then the album came out.
SPEAKER_00So you never really know one of the best songs ever created.
SPEAKER_03I just love that song. Uh but yeah, Bella Kay Steady is spectacular. Check it out. And that could be her like this. Could be her year. You just never know with some of these artists.
SPEAKER_00I have to do a deep dive. I have no idea. Because guess how behind I am? I'm so behind that I just watched Le Miserab for the first time in my whole entire life.
SPEAKER_03And and okay, same, by the way.
SPEAKER_00What?
SPEAKER_03Same. We both did.
SPEAKER_00I know. Okay, you watched it too, but you'd seen it before. No, oh, I thought you had seen it before.
SPEAKER_03Not like in its entirety, because it's long.
SPEAKER_00Oh, yeah, it's long. It's I understand it's like one of the great musicals of all time. It's not my style of musical, where it's just like just uh it's just a lot. Yeah, I I am very much like uh I love musicals from the 80s on, basically, is kind of like my thing. Um, but it's incredible. Anne Hathaway absolutely deserved the Oscar. Yes. Holy shit. I've never seen a winner like that in my life. She's amazing, which I knew. Something that I was thinking about that really bums me out is I remember when the movie came out, how thin Anne Hathaway got for the film was like a really big topic. And I saw her in the movie and I go, it's so much worse today. Not her, but like the thinness that we're seeing on her screens is so much worse today.
SPEAKER_02I didn't even think about that. I didn't even think she looked that thin.
SPEAKER_00That's what I'm saying.
SPEAKER_02I didn't think you know what I mean.
SPEAKER_00You know, like she is a thin person, so it's like Yeah, I wasn't like, oh no, she got so thin. This last red carpet season was way scarier than this, which is really sad. Um, but you know, I think I think Hugh Jackman's amazing. I think he's incredible. What a journey that character goes. He looks so different from the very beginning to the very end.
SPEAKER_03Did a good job with his makeup.
SPEAKER_00I love when he's like peak mayor or whatever he is in the factory. He looks great there. I mean, it's kind of it was fine. It's just, it's not like my favorite musical I've ever seen.
SPEAKER_03Well, it's also very, very, very, very miserable. It's so downtrodden. Oh, it's my least favorite thing is dirty. You can't even watch Breaking Bad.
SPEAKER_00I can't even watch Breaking Bad. I'm if I don't like the color gradient and like just people being dirty and like their lives only get continually worse. I don't like it. I don't want to see the glow down, I want to see a glow up. Right. That's it. So speaking of- That's why I was excited to see Hugh be like, oh, cool, he's redeemed himself. Right.
SPEAKER_03Well, you guys, we did a palette cleanser, so don't worry. We watched Legally Blonde Masterpiece right after.
SPEAKER_00Holy shit, fully captivated by Legally Blonde. Lots of pink, so much pink, lots of glow-ups. I've been struggling with my personal aesthetic lately, and I'm like, maybe my aesthetic is just like legally blonde. Lwoods. L Woods opening scenes.
SPEAKER_03Yeah.
SPEAKER_00I love that. I connect with it so much.
SPEAKER_03Just pink on various pinks. It's like it's not even it's all no, it's kind of a weird. Some of this stuff is really out there, like color scheme-wise. Like it's just like pink and a salmon and like other kind of pink, like always different like versions of pink and like red.
SPEAKER_00I think the set director had the same note that like the um home alone set director had, which is like the production designer or production designer, they're like, I hate pink, so I'm just gonna make everything pink. I don't even care what shade of pink it is, you know.
SPEAKER_03They did a really good job of like the juxtaposition between like what Harvard's kids look like and what she looked like. I thought that was really like really fun, and it's a fun movie in a lot of ways. So good, but also there's some funny, yeah, and like the good people win in the end. Le Miz is really like to watch the two kind of back to back was really funny for us. You couldn't maybe there's no so brutal, there's probably no devastating, no different films than those two together. Like, if you think about like what the most opposite of Le Miz is, is Legally Blonde.
SPEAKER_00I think you're totally right. Oh my god. It is the that's the spectrum because you love Legally Blonde.
SPEAKER_03It's so devastating. On the scale of like, yeah, a perfect movie that's not devastating, and then a movie that was really criticized, but we also saw Project Hail Mary in theaters, which is kind of crazy.
SPEAKER_00Bad that I kind of forgot about it.
SPEAKER_03Yeah, I think it's a B.
SPEAKER_00I think it's a fine movie. Yeah, it's fine, it's B. I think Ryan Gosling is incredible, and if they didn't have Ryan Gosling, they'd be screwed.
SPEAKER_03Yeah, can you imagine anyone else playing that part? No, because the same writer also did The Martian.
SPEAKER_00Okay, and the Martian Dark Matter, which I was thinking of.
SPEAKER_03Yeah, and The Martian is um another movie that really leans heavily on Matt Damon, you know, a lead actor who I love Matt Damon. Okay, a little mislurp over there. But Matt Damon is very charismatic and he's got like a great like you know, physicality, and like you root for him, but like you really root for Ryan Gosling. And uh, so yeah.
SPEAKER_00He's acting against a rock.
SPEAKER_03Spoiler alert, but yes, almost the entire movie is him and a rock or him and like a German rock.
SPEAKER_00Yes, I mean uh we I have a I just have a lot of questions plot-wise still.
SPEAKER_03But we don't have to go in them.
SPEAKER_00We won't go into that, but I will say I was smiling like this a lot of the movie.
SPEAKER_03Yeah, and also you spent sleeping on my arm.
unknownOh shit.
SPEAKER_00I can't, I don't know if I've ever slept in a movie before in a theater.
SPEAKER_03Kaylee just curled up, grabbed my arm, or I think my arm was already on you, yeah, and then he just kind of like curled up on it, got all nice and cozy on the seat, and I was like, oh, she's done. This is a human being who is not gonna be awake, and she was out.
SPEAKER_00How long was I out for?
SPEAKER_03I think like 15, 20.
SPEAKER_00And I don't think I really missed much. No, I I felt it in the moment where I was like, if I fall asleep right now, I think I'll be okay. Yeah.
SPEAKER_03This was after, you know, the Oaks tour, the mall, the mall trip.
SPEAKER_00This is after the mall. This is after I ate the whole entire bag of popcorn before the the uh previews even started. The previews take too long. Okay, previews take too long, and we don't need commercials. We we are the people who were in the theaters, we don't need the commercials to go to the theaters. We already bought the popcorn, we already bought all the Coca-Cola products, we bought the candy, we bought everything. We're here. Yeah, tell stop advertising. Tell somebody else.
SPEAKER_03Tell somebody else who's not there.
SPEAKER_00Put that on the outside of the theater. I don't need to see it. I know.
SPEAKER_03Well, the fact that like you go and watch these really long movies and you have this really long intro is not, it's just too much because then you just then all of a sudden your entire day is watching a movie. There shouldn't be.
SPEAKER_00That's a problem.
SPEAKER_03Like dinner in a movie can't exist with the movies that are three hours plus a 30-minute intro with Nicole Kidman speaking to you twice.
SPEAKER_00It's like that part I don't mind.
SPEAKER_03Give me more Nicole.
SPEAKER_00That's like, I know I'm at an AMC theater. I know I have a Coca-Cola product in my hand. Leave me alone.
SPEAKER_03Oh my god. Well, um, before we get into sip on this, I want to say it's been a week and we still have no update on Bachelorette. I'm just kind of shocked by that. We haven't seen anything, we haven't heard anything, we haven't gotten anything. I would have assumed that we would have would have had some sort of anything. Yeah, just because people are talking about it and now they're not.
SPEAKER_00Well, we moved on to a different TV show scandal.
SPEAKER_03Yeah, we've moved on. No, we move we really have, and now they they've lost all the momentum to do something, and now no one gives a shit, and they must have I don't know, they may have, I don't know. I'm shocked.
SPEAKER_00Do you think they reacted too quickly? Do you think they should have just been like, we already have this in the can.
SPEAKER_03Let's like of course they're it when you react to online anything, you are an idiot. Why? Because people who are online, first of all, most people online aren't even really online, they're fake. Second of all, if they are online, then they're just not even the majority of the people. Most people aren't actually that active on the internet.
SPEAKER_00Yeah.
SPEAKER_03So you're already giving into like this mob that part of it's gonna be fake accounts. Right. So why even listen to them? If anything, you could make some big statement and say you're gonna do something about it, and maybe there's some editorial thing, and you go, we're gonna push the release till next week and everyone will talk about it.
SPEAKER_00I know.
SPEAKER_03I don't know.
SPEAKER_00Do you think Mora's gonna be the next bachelorette? What do you think about that rumor?
SPEAKER_03I mean, that would be incredible. I love that. I would that's who should have been in anyway.
SPEAKER_00I mean, she's she's lovable.
SPEAKER_03She's so lovable.
SPEAKER_00We'll all root for her, but she's also gorgeous and she also like knows how to handle guys.
SPEAKER_03She would need, though, if for it to be real, a serious casting opportunity.
SPEAKER_00Serious.
SPEAKER_03Like you couldn't like take the guys that were on Taylor, Frankie Paul's cast. Like, none of those guys would ever make it onto Morris, in my opinion. Well, not just hot. They need to have like a successful dude. Yeah.
SPEAKER_00Yeah.
SPEAKER_03So you have to start this process from the beginning. I mean, you need like even celebrities more difficult.
SPEAKER_00Athletes, business people, see like someone from the NBA giving up their career to try their shot at dating more. Like something like that.
SPEAKER_03You gotta do it during the offseason. There was once an NFL player on The Bachelorette. Really? Yeah. Was he the bachelor? No. No. No. Okay. He was just like a guy who was in the league. He was a tight end, played for the what was his name? Uh Clay Harbor. Very nice guy, and he was in the league. Yeah.
SPEAKER_00Oh, okay. Well, that's what I'm down for. I just want, yeah, that'd be really fun. Well, we'll see what happens. It's just gonna go back to being boring.
SPEAKER_03I know. But yeah, Moro would be great. I would watch the hell out of that. Of course I would.
SPEAKER_00Yeah.
SPEAKER_03Uh okay. It's that time again for sip on this. Sip on this. Sip on this. Sip on this. Psychotic.
SPEAKER_00We're the honestly, we're not well.
SPEAKER_03I need to make a shirt that says sip on this. Wait, is that bad? No, it's probably bad.
SPEAKER_00Yeah.
SPEAKER_03Maybe a mug. A mug. A mug. Sure. That makes more sense.
SPEAKER_00Yeah.
SPEAKER_03That could be okay. Um, I see that you have nothing written.
SPEAKER_00I don't know what I'm sipping on this week. Am I sipping on anything?
SPEAKER_03I don't know, but I'm gonna sip on poppy.
SPEAKER_00Hey, no.
SPEAKER_03What?
SPEAKER_00Don't. Why? Poppy is mine.
SPEAKER_03Well, let's sip on it together.
SPEAKER_00Okay. We sip on it together.
SPEAKER_03I'm sipping on poppy because I was a hater. I'm admitting it.
SPEAKER_00For years. I've been drinking poppy.
SPEAKER_03Kaylee was drinking poppy before me by a lot, and I was pushing back on it because it was made with fake sugar, which I don't like for the most part, and still don't really like. But but the product tastes good. I like the root beer, I like the cola, and I'm much more of a fan of it now. And uh you were right. You were right. Is that what you want me to say? Thank you.
SPEAKER_00You were right about poppy. It's hard being the trendsetter in the family. Well, you know what? This happened in my family. Well, my family, but growing up too, they would like all make fun of me for like the weird healthy stuff that I ate. Guess what they're all eating now?
SPEAKER_03Weird healthy stuff?
SPEAKER_00Yeah.
SPEAKER_03Oh, they're eating some really weird stuff. So I'm eating your family.
SPEAKER_00Or a small example is like I ate cliff bars so much in high school and college. And my brother used to make fun of me so much, so much. And then like a couple years ago, he was in cliff bars all the time.
SPEAKER_03Well, I was gonna say when we were watching when we were watching Legally Blonde, and then looking back on when we watched Clueless, these films were like making fun of this culture that now is like so pervasive that it's the norm now. It's the norm.
SPEAKER_00Yeah. I mean, it's not like like plastic surgery and caring about beauty, and everyone's an expert on hair and skin and nails, and yeah, it happened. We're all like walking, talking, breathing magazines. Yeah, and magazines are magazines are dead.
SPEAKER_03What does that say? I know it's sad for you, but uh yeah, so Poppy, congratulations. I know you sold your company and you made lots of money.
SPEAKER_00Yeah. Well, the thing that's great about Poppy is that they don't lean on just the sugar replacement or artificial sweetener, it's not artificial. What is it, like stevia or something? They have a good balance, which I think is like a lot of people make the mistake of making things too sweet with artificial sweetener. This has like a good balance of both. Yeah, that's why it works. I don't even care about the probiotic stuff. I don't care about that at all. I don't think that's doing anything.
SPEAKER_03I don't know if there's enough really in a liquid form either that can do all that work. But but uh the the flavor is what I think is very impressive. And actually, the cola tastes better than root beer. I love a good cola flavor, and like Coca-Cola is very not good, and Diet Coke is worse for you. So the poppy? Now I'm burping.
SPEAKER_00I was on poppy for so long that poppy actually was my gateway drug back to diet sodas because I'm like, I need more, I need more options. Oh my god, and now I'm fully on diet sodas now.
SPEAKER_03Wait, Kaylee, remember? We made the diet coke with the freeze.
SPEAKER_00We put No, but we didn't do it right.
SPEAKER_03I know, but we still did that.
SPEAKER_00We still tried.
SPEAKER_03You guys are the AMC theater, don't tell the AMC people, but we took we took a Diet Coke and we put some of the Coca-Cola.
SPEAKER_00Um he totally messed up the order. You put in the Coca-Cola slushie first, then you put in Coca-Cola, and then the case. Then I put the slush.
SPEAKER_03Then I put the slushie in. Is it supposed to be just half slushy, half coke? No ice.
SPEAKER_00No, I think okay. First you do ice, then you do the diet coke beverage, whatever your beverage of choice is, and then you do a dollop of the slushie. Okay. It was all messed up.
SPEAKER_03Well, yeah, and it's supposed to make a lime slushie.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, it's supposed to be like a contrast. They didn't have that. Like, how can you tell?
SPEAKER_03They didn't have that.
SPEAKER_00I know I have to go to 7-Eleven this week.
SPEAKER_03But we tried it. Kind of.
SPEAKER_00We started breaking the rules a little bit. We're crazy. We're crazy.
SPEAKER_03We're mall kids, we're in Vond Dutch.
SPEAKER_00Also, we're wearing World Cup from Abercrombie and Fitch.
SPEAKER_03We're wearing World Cup shirts. You guys were obviously not sponsored by anybody, but if we were to be sponsored, it would be Poppy and Abercrombie. It would be, genuinely. So if anyone's listening from those brands that need to uh find ways to get a few people to listen and watch.
SPEAKER_00Also, my entire face is by Sephora. An idea.
SPEAKER_03Well, that's your face is perfect.
SPEAKER_00Well, the makeup. The face is actually a product of my parents and a couple injectioners.
SPEAKER_03Canada and Michigan. When was your dad born?
SPEAKER_00My dad is from Ohio.
SPEAKER_03I'm born in Ohio.
SPEAKER_00But I was born in Michigan.
SPEAKER_03Canada and Ohio have merged to create this face of legends.
SPEAKER_00Wow. Thank you.
SPEAKER_03Well, I love you, Angel. I love you. Great, great talking to you.
SPEAKER_00Wild episode. I don't even know what we talked about.
SPEAKER_03Um, okay, you guys, thank you for listening. Like, subscribe, share, listen to it on, of course, all your favorite podcasts, whatever you listen to this one right now. I'd love to actually know. I think Apple's still number one, but like we're on Spotify and a few others. Also we're on YouTube.
SPEAKER_00If you want to watch us unedited. Watch so you can see all of the hair on Zach's shirt right now. You guys, it's okay.
SPEAKER_03It's fine. No one cares. They're looking at your face, okay? Everyone's waiting until we cut back to you.
SPEAKER_00All right.
SPEAKER_03Trust me, no one wants to see this guy.
SPEAKER_00That's not true.
SPEAKER_03Uh, but yeah, thank you for listening on all the ways you listen on YouTube, on Instagram, on uh TikTok, all the videos, and uh maybe getting later. It's true.
