Discipline, Faith & Defying the Odds: Howard Grant’s Journey from Uninterested to Unstoppable
In this episode of The Limitless Podcast, Dr. Tony Holmes sits down with Howard Grant, a proud graduate of Texas A&M University’s Industrial Distribution Engineering Technology program, whose journey is a testament to faith, discipline, and divine timing.
Howard opens up about how, despite being a top student, he initially had no interest in college — until mentorship from older Gents alumni sparked a new vision. That spark turned into purpose as he stepped into the rigorous world of engineering, becoming 1 of only 80 graduates from a class of 300, navigating the challenges of being a Black student in a predominantly white institution.
He shares how organizations like the Black Former Student Network and a Black counselor helped him find belonging, and how his spiritual walk with God carried him through uncertain seasons, especially while working in environments where he was the only Black man in the office.
Now a thriving project manager, Howard speaks on "active waiting," getting certified during the hard times, and holding on to integrity even in toxic workspaces. His maturity, focus, and wisdom — all before 30 — are inspiring for anyone looking to build a life of purpose now, in order to live in peace and prosperity later.
Whether you’re in a season of doubt, transition, or ambition — this episode will remind you:
1. Hard work still matters
2. Discipline leads to freedom
3. And when you wait on God, He always delivers.
