Nishanth Araveti is a Macaulay Honors College scholar and Jeannette K. Watson Fellow specializing in philosophy, cognitive science, and bioethics. His academic work explores the intersections of neuroethics, postcolonial theory, and Indian Philosophy, with a focus on medical epistemology, cognitive enhancement, and the ethics of medical practice. Nishanth’s research spans topics from the clinical gaze and healthcare inequality to the conceptual paradoxes of thought and language. He has conducted neuroscience research on brain tissue stiffness in demyelinating lesions, worked on pulsatile tinnitus, and written on Neuroethics for the Council of Europe and the University of Copenhagen. He brings a multidisciplinary rigor to every project, drawing from analytic philosophy, Indian intellectual traditions, and contemporary critical theory to illuminate the ethical contours of knowledge, health, and power.
