Hello, my beautiful listener and welcome back to the Levity Podcast where science and soul come together to illuminate your path to healing. I'm your host, Dr. Sabina Clark, you are Dr. Sunshine, your doctor of acupuncture, wellness educator, and passionate translator of your body's. Secret language. Today's episode is all about something that is always happening, even if we don't notice it. Your body is talking to you right now, right this second, but here's the catch. Most of us weren't taught how to listen. So today we are tuning in. We are learning how to reach the signals, the tensions, the cravings, the fatigue, the tears that comes out of nowhere, and discover how to use them as your emotional GPS. So let's get into it. Here is the thing, the body doesn't lie. Your mind might be able to talk you out of your feelings. But your body, your body, it doesn't lie. That tightness in your chest before a meeting, that headache that shows up every Sunday night, that pit in your stomach when you ignore your boundaries. Well, these aren't just random symptoms. They are messages and they are not trying to annoy you. They are trying to actually protect you, and your body is wired to speak your truth. It just doesn't always speak at words. Most of us were raised to our two. So how we got disconnected? Most of us were raised to override our body's wisdom. We were taught to power through, push past the pain, ignore fatigue, quite the tears. Especially if you are a neurodivergent or highly sensitive, chances are you were told you were too much or too emotional. So what did we learn to disconnect, to ignore the signals, to doubt our own internal compass, but. Here's the truth. Your body is still sending these signals and healing starts the moment you decide to listen again. So the somatic intelligence explained in a simple way, okay, Zoma means body. So somatic intelligence is the body's natural ability to process. Sense, respond, and heal. Think of your body like an instrument. If it's in tune, it sinks. If it's out of tune, it's S, but you learn how to tune it. You can learn that. You can learn how emotions show up in your body. For example, anger often lives in the jaw, in fists or in the liver area. Anxiety, well, chest tightness, shallow breath, butterflies, not really the good ones. Grief, lump in the throat, heaviness in the heart. And fatigue. And grief is not always losing someone. We can grieve about not fulfilling our dreams. We did make the wrong choice. We can grieve things like that as well. So it's not always that we have to lose a loved one. So lump in the throat, we can grieve that we are not speaking up heaviness in the heart, we can grieve that we did not the chance take. 20 years ago. And so fatigue that can all show in grief. So when we get familiar with your own patterns, you stop fearing the emotions, you start using them. So when you get familiar with your own pattern, you stop fearing your emotions. You can start and use them as your navigation. I will tell you a story. Years ago I started getting these random backaches, but they only came and I said yes to something I really actually wanted to say no to. Every single time my body was screaming what my voice wouldn't say. So I started listening and eventually I got better and stopped getting those aches and pains. So one of my favorite tools to support this emotional awareness is of course, acupressure. Besides of other things, but today we start with a point, it's called heart seven, the Chen Min or Spirit Gate. This point is located on the inside of your wrist, on the side of your pinky, and when you go where the hand starts and the arm ends, and that grease, that is where you can find that point. So you can gently press it when you feel overwhelmed, emotionally shut down or disconnected. It helps brings your emotions back into balance and supports the peaceful sleep as well. So try pressing it right now and breathe and just ask your body, what are you trying to tell me? Let's do that tiny practice together. If you are driving or walking, please keep your eyes open, but just bring your awareness in Word. So let's take a deep breath together and scan your body slowly from head to toe. Notice any tightness, tingling, any sensation at all. And don't judge it. Don't change it. Just notice. Just notice this and then whisper, I hear you. I'm here. And that's it. Acknowledge. Acknowledge your body's symptoms, and that's it. That's the practice. And with time, it becomes your new normal. A relationship with your body. Built on safety, listening, and love. So many of us walk around feeling anxious, unfocused, or on the edge, and we think something is wrong with that, but maybe nothing is really wrong. Maybe your body is just trying to be your guide. Your GPS, your guardian, your wisest, most loyal friend. You don't need to fix every feeling. You just need to. Feel it fully and be aware of it because that's how the healing begins.
