Hello, my radiant flow seekers and welcome back to the energy map of Levity Academy, where ancient Chinese wisdom meets modern science, sprinkled with humor, heart, and a touch of G Magic. I am your host, Dr. Sunshine, doctor of acupuncture and herbal medicine nerd, and a lifelong seeker of knowledge. Today we are diving into one of my favorite and most misunderstood elements in traditional Chinese medicine. Yes, that's right. The wood element, the home of your liver and gallbladder, your energy of growth, of movement and vision. This episode is for you and for anyone who's ever felt well stuck, angry, tight, tense, or like they might just karate chop their laptop. Out of pure frustration and threw it out of the glow to window. Congratulations. These are all signs of liberty problems let's dive in. In Chinese medicine, word is the element of spring, the time of birth renewal, and upward. Growth. So imagine tiny sprouts breaking through the soil, determined unstoppable, reaching for sunlight. That's your liver energy. The liver is the general of the army. It plans, directs and ensures everything moves smoothly. Chi, blood, emotions, life. When it's balanced, you are decisive. Visionary, assertive, flexible, creative. When it's off balance. Oh, well, I don't wanna be around you and you don't wanna be around me because you are irritable, impulsive, stuck, or ready to argue with your wifi router. Well, and the gallbladder is the partner in grime here, the decision maker. It's helping you to choose to act, to move forward with clarity. Together they embody courage, determination, and purpose. So if you have ever felt blocked in life, emotionally, physically, or spiritually, you'll probably experience what TCM calls liberty stagnation, the ancient diagnosis for a modern overwhelm and burnout. So let me translate this into modern language for you. The liver is your detox, CEO, Western medicine. The liver metabolizes hormones, filters, toxins, regulates blood sugar. It's your internal chemistry lab. But when it's overworked, like, hello, caffeine, alcohol and stress detox slows down, inflammation rises and mood well plummets. The stress connection. In neuroscience, chronic stress keeps your nervous system In sympathetic, overdrive means fight, flight, or freeze. So while that creates muscle tension, irritability, and poor sleep. Sounds familiar. TCM just calls G stagnation. And then the brain liver axis. Yeah. Studies show that liver dysfunction affects the dopamine and serotonin balance. It's linked to frustration, depression, and PMS. So yeah, that liver chi anger, it's not wo, it's biochemical frustration and your fascia. Mm-hmm. Fascia and flow your fascia. That body wide web of connective tissue, well, it mirrors the meridian pathways when your fascia stiffens. From stress, lack of movement, chi flow and mood, stagnates, stretching, acupuncture, acupressure, and movement. Literally frees your energy. Highways. Hmm. And then the gallbladder decisions and fatigue. So modern science says we make 35,000. Decisions a day, huh? That's quite a lot, huh? No wonder our gallbladders are tired in TCM, indecision, procrastination and self-doubt shows, um, weak gallbladder chi. So yes, confidence is an organ system, not just a personality trait, and when word is out of balance. So well, it's like your inner GPS is glitching, and here's how it's showing up. You will have physical signs like tension, headaches, neck and shoulders are tight. PMS is cramping. Irregular cycles, eye strains, dry or red eyes, digestive, bloating, sighing, and shallow breathing. Those are the physical signs. Let's go to the emotional ones. Irritability, frustration, anger, bursts, impatience, resentment, perfectionism, feeling stuck or creatively, completely blocked, and you have difficulty making decisions. That's a handful, huh? Then we have the energetic signs. Well, a tight chest or a throat feeling trapped in your body and lack of motivation or flexibility. Whoa. It's like your inner tree for gut. It can bend in the wind, but Okay. Okay. Okay. Right. It's turn the tension into transformation. Because the wood element loves solutions, move daily. Chi drives on movement. You don't need to hit the gym for three hours a day. Just walk, stretch, dance in the kitchen. If you want to do some yoga, shout into a pillow. If you must. Just don't sit still and stew. And eat green. The liver loves green. Green is the color of the wood, leafy veggies, sprouts, artichokes, dandelion greens. They help to detoxify and move the liver and breathe and sigh. That big exhale you do when you are frustrated. Huh, it's your liver releasing pressure, so si intentionally. It is the original nervous system reset button, so do it intentionally before the frustration goes on. Overload and acupressure or puncture, power press gently. Liver three, what is on the top of your foot between the big and the second toe? It's sensitive spot. It's a liver's traffic cup, restoring and flow and calm in a few minutes. Or go and see your N nearest acupuncturist and laugh. The liver loves laughter. It's the best natural movement for chi. Did you know that? Yes, it's the natural movement for your chi. Laugh as much as possible, and if you don't feel it like it, well, what could I tell you? Watch a comedy, a real good one. Or brows on YouTube, something funny. So yes, a sense of humor is a prescription and make a plan and then let it go. The liver loves visions and direction, but it hates control. Freaky energy. So plan, then trust the flow. You are the tree, the universe is to wind. So yeah, your liver and gallbladder are not just organs, they are your emotional engineers. They help you move. Grow and transform ideas into action. And when they are happy, oh, you feel alive, you feel inspired, you feel flexible, like springtime in uniform. And when they are stuck, you feel like a pressure cooker ready to explode, and that's your sign to stretch. That's very easy. Breathe, plan, laugh, and flow again, because life, just like chi isn't meant to be forced. It's meant to move and flow. Said the softest thing in the world overcomes the hardest.
