Hello, my radiant beings of balance and welcome back to Living the Levity with the Energy Map series where we decode the wisdom of traditional Chinese medicine. And planned it with modern science, emotional intelligence, and a sprinkle of sunshine. I'm your host, Dr. Sunshine, acupuncturist, herbalist, nutrition lover, and lifelong fan of Next, with Purpose Today we are heading straight to the center of your being, the home of stability, nourishment, and grounded energy. The Earth's element governed by your spleen and stomach. This is where energy of receiving, digesting, and transforming not just your food, but your thoughts, your experiences, and your emotions. So if you have ever felt trained, bloated, scattered, overthinking, or emotionally heavy. Yep. Your earth might just be crying out for a little love in traditional Chinese medicine. Earth is the element of late summer abundance ripeness and sweet grounding energy. Think of harvest time, warm days, golden fields and gratitude for the nourishment that sustains us. The spleen and TCM isn't just an immune organ, it's your digestive intellect. It governs how you transform food into cheap. Your energy and thoughts into clarity. The stomach receives, digests and distributes. It's the great Transformers of Earth Gift. So together they represent nourishment, physical, emotional, and spiritual. When Earth's energy is strong. Or you feel centered, you feel content focused and cared for, but when your earth is weak or you feel drained, ungrounded, worried, and emotionally sticky. The Earth's element is like the mother within you, always giving, but sometimes forgetting to feed herself. So let's take that stop again. So let's take this from the rise bowl to the research lab, shall we? The gut brain access modern science confirms ancient doctors always knew. That's our fact. Number one, your gut and your mind. There are deeply connected the vagus nerve. That magical communication line between your gut and your brain regulates mood, digestion, and emotional balance. Overthinking literally steals Q from digestion. That's why stress causes bloating and worry can feel like a prick in your stomach. The spleen and pancreas connection are fact number two in biomedical terms. The TCM spleen overlaps with your pancreas and lymphatic system. Both are crucial for digestion, metabolism, and your immunoregulation. So overeating, sugar, or processed food weakens your earth. Leading to sluggish digestion, fatigue and brain fog, or as we call it, spleen dampness, the microbiome, your inner ecosystem, fuck. Number three is your gut bacterias influence everything from serotonin production to inflammation. So when TCM says Happy Spleen, happy mind. Well neuroscience now, it nots an agreement then we have our fact number four, worry equals energy leak. So studies show chronic rumination activates the stress response and increases cortisol disrupting digestion and nutrient absorption, huh? In TCM language, excessive worry knots, the G of the spleen translation. Your thoughts are eating your lunch before your stomach can do. Hmm. Fact number five, comfort food and emotional regulation. So while carbohydrates increase the serotonin temporarily, which explains why we crave sweets and carbs when we are ungrounded, but long term, well too much sugar depletes the spleen energy balance is the true. Comfort food. I know sometimes easier said than done when your earth's element is out of tune, your inner balance. Oh, well, it feels like a quicksand. You will have physical signs like bloating, fatigue after eating, sugar cravings, loose stools or sluggish digesting puffy body or swelling. You have weak muscles or heavy limp sensations. The emotional signs are worrying, overthinking, over caring difficulties setting boundaries. Especially something like, I will take care of everyone's syndrome. Mm-hmm. I'm not healthy feeling stuck or unmotivated, emotional eating or craving comfort foods. And then we have the energetic signs, feeling ungrounded, scattered or disconnected. Loss of the center means I can't focus. I giving too much without receiving? Hmm, does not sound good. If your salts are swirling like a plunder, your spleen is waving with a spoon saying, Hey, could we please digest life a little bit slower? Aware. Sometimes it's good to listen to your body. It's time to give your earth some. TLC, tender, loving, chew care. Eat warm and grounding foods Your spleen loves warms. So SW Smoothies for soup. Iced coffee for tea. Cold salads for roasted veggies. Okay, focus on cooked grains, root vegetables, and gentle spices like cinnamon, ginger, and cardamon. And simplify your meals and your mind. Chew slowly. Eat while sitting down and leave your phone away. No stress crawls. Digestion begins with mindfulness. Some acupressure for centering. We have stomach 36 as three fingers below your knee, outside the shin, known as the point of longevity. It boosts chi and immune energy and our spleen. Six above the ankle bone harmonize digestion. It calms to mind and balance hormones. Well and crown your body. Walk barefoot on grass, stretch slowly. Practice gentle yoga or Pilates. Earth Energy moves best when you move mindfully. And give, but also receive. Stop saying yes. When your cheese says no, you can't pour tea from an empty pot, darling, we all heard that saying, right? It's true. You can't pour from an empty cup and strengthen your center with stillness. Maybe practice meditation, meditate on your breath flowing into your belly. Imagine golden light expending from your navel, like warm, nurturing, and steady. So yes, your earth element is your foundation, your center, your internal kitchen where energy is. Cooked, blended and shared. Oh, with the rest of your being. When your earth is balanced, well, life feels sweet. Not from sugar, but from peace. You digest life with ease. Sink clearly give generously without depleting yourself. But when your earth is weak, oh well, you become. The overthinking overgiving under arrested Hero, and even heroes need nourishment. So remember, caring for yourself is caring for the world because when you are grounded, calm and well fed, your presence becomes medicine. Says to the center, all things return if this episode feeds your body and your soul. Explore and live academy where I teach how to strengthen your digestion, calm, very, and find peace through nourishment. Remember, science and spirit. Aren't opposites.
