Ever found yourself staring down at a plate of food that looks questionable at best, while the proud cook eagerly awaits your reaction? That's exactly the hilariously awkward territory Rika and Lowe dive into during this episode of All In Your Biz.

Rika bravely shares her mortifying experience with a bowl of chili that resulted in an unexpected reflux situation, while Lowe reveals his strategic "ask for a to-go plate" technique that ends with food being tossed from car windows. "I may circle the block and run it over, so the birds won't eat it," Lowe jokes, capturing the lengths we'll go to avoid hurting someone's feelings about their cooking.

The hosts explore the subtle art of food rejection, from eating slower to claiming you're already full. They also reveal the red flags that might warn you about potentially disappointing meals - like when someone boasts they're going to "throw down" in the kitchen or when you spot dented discount cans on the counter. The conversation takes a turn toward food safety when discussing the notorious five-second rule and witnessing questionable cooking practices.

This episode perfectly balances laugh-out-loud moments with genuine social insight about the complex intersection of food, friendship, and honesty. Whether you've been the reluctant eater or unwittingly served something less than delicious, you'll find yourself nodding along to this relatable conversation. Speaker 1:

until our next podcast, here's something to make you laugh on the all in your biz with rika and lowe's show because you know what, like I don't want to be hurting nobody, feelings or nothing like that, how is?

Speaker 2:

but this food is trash. What do you do? Do you just eat it anyway?

Speaker 1:

I think there are subtle signs, like you, my stomach. I got bubble guts now you may not eat as much, or you may not eat it as fast. And they say oh, you know you want some more? Yeah, like no, no, no, I just ate before I came and you try to cover it up with a napkin in the trash. I don't know if it's like maybe. I think I'll say I had enough or something like that. Do you have an experience with some lasagna?

Speaker 2:

yeah, I had some lasagna, uh, somebody won't. I looked at it and I was like, no, I just ate. And but that's what I had called you that day. I was like, uh, I was like, babe, tell him that, uh, I don't, I don't be, I don't eat stuff like this and all. And I was hoping that you said, no, he don't eat it. Because if you would have, yeah, he eat that man, I would. I would have passed out no, but yeah, you know, like is, and so that's, is that like a form of like kind of respect, just to eat it anyway?

Speaker 1:

no, because I don't feel that you say it's something that you know I don't say I wouldn't say that it's nasty, but just say you know I don't want any more. No, thank you, or it doesn't sit well with me. One time I was invited to someone's house and they cooked, uh, chili, and I don't eat chili I never I've never, eaten chili. I, I, I just I don't like chili powder, I don't like the taste of it you can just suck it up and just eat it that's what I I did.

Speaker 2:

Oh.

Speaker 1:

And I had a reflux, oh, and it came back up. It was horrible.

Speaker 2:

Wait a minute, Wait a minute. It was like I mean, was it just in your mouth or did it come out?

Speaker 1:

No, it didn't come out. It was in my mouth Like it was a little bit enough. It was acidic, it was sharp tasting and that was like you know. Did they see you? I don't. I don't think so, but somebody told them like hey, rika threw up your chili.

Speaker 2:

Oh, I was so embarrassed and I had to tell them like I'm sorry, like I this is nasty no, I said I don't.

Speaker 1:

Uh, chili doesn't agree with me, that's what I say. It doesn't agree with me like I can't digest it, oh man and everybody was laughing. They thought I was joking oh, they thought you were joking yeah, but but honestly I don't bell pepper, chili, things like that. It just does not agree with me so I? I don't think. Can you tell somebody that their food is nasty?

Speaker 2:

you know what? I won't tell them that their food is nasty, but like when they when they leave the room or something, I'm gonna go so fast to that doggone trash can would you? Ask for some to go to make yeah, I asked for something to go just like. This was awesome. Listen, I feel bad, like, but this was awesome. Man, I get down the street and I'm throwing it out the window and I may circle the block and run it over, so the birds won't eat it.

Speaker 1:

They'd be doing them a favor?

Speaker 2:

yeah, because you know, you know people be like. You know like, hey, we having a party, this never you be gonna throw down.

Speaker 1:

Anybody say they gonna throw down that's a, that's a sign, that's a red flag that means it's gonna be garbage.

Speaker 2:

Okay, you're gonna have bubble guts and everything else. You know what I'm saying, because you know we don't say we're gonna throw down, we just say you already know like, are they cooking? You ask who's cooking? Yeah, who did that? Who made that? Yeah, you talking about? Oh, we over here throwing down and I see a whole bunch of cans laying out dented cans dented cans on top of that from iga I'm like this was like the reject cans and the meat is rancid.

Speaker 1:

you you take the burger and put it to your mouth and it smell a little a it's smelling sour.

Speaker 2:

They didn't put a sour towel to it or something like that. Get out of here. I'm just like listen, it don't taste that good, it don't taste well, I'm not going to sit here and put it in my mouth. So I get bubble guts and all this stuff and then, you know no, they're like how was the food?

Speaker 1:

Horrible. So what if there was some mold on something and you?

Speaker 2:

see somebody cut around it. Listen, don't get me started, because I've been in some positions and all where some people were cooking and all and I've seen like they unclean, like habits of what they were doing and whatever it is, and meat dropping and all they talk about it. I'm like, listen, no, a five it five. Yeah, you can't do five. Second rule when you got barbecue, okay, and you got barbecue sauce on the ribs, because now it's full of dirt you can, you're gonna rinse it off.

Speaker 1:

You're gonna range it. Range it off. Please put it back on the.
