🔥Turning Pain into Purpose - Ep. 21 The Fire of Liberty Show
Christie Slape, Moms for Liberty – Texas Ambassador and Chapter Chair will join us to share the profound personal loss that shaped her passion for preserving liberty and inspiring others to speak out. After the sudden passing of her mother from a Brain aneurysm at just 64, Christie found herself forever changed and determined to live each day as if it might be her last. Her grief journey led her to lead a support group at her church for six years and to organize an annual Widow’s Luncheon, offering comfort to others walking through sorrow.
We will talk about the grief many are feeling in the wake of Charlie Kirk’s assassination, and how to process grief—what’s normal, what helps, and how we can carry on with purpose. Christie also shares how listening to Charlie’s podcast on the dangers of Critical race theory in 2021 lit a spark that propelled her to speak at her first school board meeting.
Christie is a lifelong Texan, part-time city slicker and part-time country girl, She has been married to her high school sweetheart for 30 years, is a former high school Spanish teacher, and is the proud mom of four and a brand-new grandbaby—her “why.” She recounts the emotional moment that sealed her commitment to this work at the 2023 Joyful Warrior Summit in Philadelphia, where history, hostility, and heroism collided in an unforgettable way.
Christie also shares some of her proudest chapter victories, like helping a member successfully fight to have the National Motto poster permanently displayed at her child’s school and delivering 12,000 pocket Constitutions each year to 8th graders.
Finally, she reflects on what it truly means to be a Joyful Warrior: a fighter armed with knowledge and courage, yet carrying a song in her heart and a smile on her face.
