Meet Shannon Adcock, the founder of Awake Illinois and the first Moms for Liberty chapter in IL in DuPage County. Shannon knows what it really means to stand firm when the pressure to stay silent is overwhelming.
Her life shifted from a proud stay-at-home mom, homemaker, church deacon, photographer, and PTA leader to a bold public advocate for children in 2020. What began as concern quickly became a calling, as she stepped into the fight against gender ideology in schools, filed federal Title IX complaints, and pushed back on mental health screenings conducted without parental consent.
In a deep-blue state like Illinois, Shannon has experienced isolation, harassment, and even threats often from institutions, media, and neighbors. Yet through it all, she remains grounded in her “why”: protecting children’s innocence and future.
Her message is clear and encouraging that you are not alone. Small, courageous actions like submitting opt-out forms or writing an op-ed can create real change.
This episode is a reminder that being “uncancelable” isn’t about avoiding criticism, it’s about not giving up. As Shannon puts it, backlash often means you’re over the target, and those who are feared are often the ones being smeared.
If you’ve ever felt alone in standing up for your beliefs, this episode will leave you encouraged, equipped, and ready to take the next step.
