This week's Psi-Friday with Mason explores one of the world's most talked-about mysteries: the 33rd parallel. Why do so many historic sites, strange events, and paranormal reports seem to cluster around this latitude? Weirder yet, what is the connection to the 33rd Degree in Freemasonry?

Join Mason as he separates fact from folklore, shares his own theories developed over decades of paranormal research, and takes a closer look at the so-called "power points" of the Earth. Whether you're a skeptic or a believer, it's a fascinating discussion you won't want to miss.

Very well, my friends. Thanks for joining me on another Cy Friday with Mason. You know, last week I took a timeout. I'd been talking about odd PowerPoints on the globe and patterns of them. And I took a timeout last weekend to talk about the summer solstice. And I think that that was a good thing. You know, I mean it's a pretty powerful time of the year. But we're going to start to wrap up our discussion of paranormal parallels by talking about another band around the earth that has a lot of occult folklore. We're talking about the 33rd parallel. Now, 33 is a really big number to the Freemasons, which gets a lot of people's imagination cooking. You realize that the original Freemasonry, I mean, at one point there was one Freemasonry. It was basically English Freemasonry, English and Scottish, they call it York Rite. But a different type of Freemasonry took over. And York Wright had only three levels to its initiation. So along comes this treaty where Masonry decides to split into two branches. I believe the year might have been 1786, and I wouldn't be shocked if the day of the conference was June 24th. And they decided to go to 33 levels of initiation. And right away the 33rd parallel sets off alarm bells. Charleston, South Carolina, one of the earliest American cities, serious cities to be founded, is pretty close to the 33rd. And that is a major city to the Freemasons. There's been a lot of American Masonic history taking place in Charleston, South Carolina. But there are people who take this 33rd parallel all around the world, and they find pyramids in China. Those are interesting. I don't know that they've ever been really studied very well. Some of them are really big. And they find um ruins, ancient native ruins, the Hohokam culture. And they find a lot of um, I'm not sure about disaster areas along the 33rd, but they do find paranormal areas. I believe there are some lights in Phoenix, which are pretty close to the 33rd parallel. I might mention that the Great Pyramid is not on the 33rd parallel. I would also mention that the famous Marfa lights in Texas are not on it. They're not really that close. I might also add that maybe someday we'll talk about the significance of the number 33 to the Freemasons. But I think for today we ought to discuss the simple logic of this band going across the earth that would mysteriously sprout phenomena or that would link places that have it. And I tell you, I can't figure out the logic. I mean, I do understand that there is such a thing as a ley line, a lay. It's a connector of sacred sites. I believe that. And I know there's all kinds of skeptical rebuttal to it. I'm a skeptic, but that means I consider the evidence before I make my mind up. And I'm willing to accept anything, no matter how unfashionable, if it makes sense to me. Lay lines exist. I can find some for you. The idea that one goes around the world, that doesn't make a lot of sense to me. The earth is not a perfect sphere. It isn't even super close. It's an irregular sphere. And maybe there could be a perfect spherical spot somewhere. 33rd aid it. And um a lot of the so the logic of this just escapes me. Also, I've complained about this before. A lot of paranormalists, they kind of well, they kind of fudge their facts. And they they have this band, the 33rd, I've looked at a number of maps. You got this ribbon going across the globe. And that ribbon looks to me like 20% of the surface of the earth wide. Just looking at the what they consider the 33rd parallel, these things are not that close to each other. They're hundreds of miles apart. So the fact that they could be connected by this also escapes me. And I think if we're expecting people to buy some kind of a paranormal truth, we gotta be really careful about our normal facts. You know, we we we paranormalists have to be very much more careful about what we assert if we truly care about our subjects. I will leave you at the end of June with this discussion of paranormal parallels. And I think next week I have an absolutely delicious factoid for you about July 4th. You know, there's been a lot of supernatural folklore that has gravitated to the founding of our nation. And I've got a killer factoid that I will mention next week on Cy Friday with Mason. Farewell.
