YES. It’s not a quick-fix. But you can do it.
And it can lead you to a career that’s more aligned with who you are now – and how you want to contribute to the world in future.
It’s far more effective when you make space to think about what you really want next, both in your career AND in your life.
I used to think the only way to build a successful career was to move up within the same organisation. That’s what I saw the people around me doing. But over time my perspective shifted.

I have a talent for creating a high trust space so you can reflect, think out loud and test your assumptions. And I love helping you explore, dream and discover new possibilities for yourself. Knowing how to step out of a negative mindset helps you to take an honest look at your current situation, to shift from paralyzed to energized, to envision possible futures and get active, and to design your next career move. That's part of my free downloadable guide, how to break through four limiting beliefs about shifting your public sector career. Have you ever worried about leaving behind what you know you're good at? Or wondered whether any of your experience counts outside the public sector. You are not alone in that. Career change doesn't go as well when you only focus on updating your CV and writing a cover letter. You are likely to end up in a similar situation to the one you find yourself in now. Instead, ask yourself powerful questions and connect the dots from your answers to create the ideal career and life you want next for yourself. But to do that, you first need to be aware of your self-talk and negative mindsets. Here are examples of negative self-talk. The world is unstable, so I'd better stay where I am. My expertise is in the public sector and I won't be valued elsewhere. I will let people down if I make a big change. These are the most common concerns public sector leaders share with me, which is why I'm addressing them in the guide. This free guide also helps you to make four important shifts. The shift from staying stuck and overanalyzing and worrying to reflecting but then also taking action. The shift from holding on to a perceived safety net, to proactively building a safety net for your career change. The shift from feeling pigeonholed in the public sector to confidently owning your transferable skills, and the shift from worrying about letting people down to realizing that making aligned career choices helps everyone. It seems hard to do, but with practice, mindset is something you can control. And here's the key thing. Only you can take agency over your career and life. You can continue to let yourself be blown by the wind. You can keep waiting for things to get better, for your motivation to return somehow, or for your context, the economy, the government to change. But then you're letting external stuff, other people or circumstances make the decision for you. Instead, make space to explore and discover what you want more of in future. Shift your self-limiting beliefs and empower yourself. Email me and let me know how it works for you. I think you'll be amazed how effective and liberating it is. Until next time, make space, rediscover you, and then take action. Thank you for listening today. You care about solving real problems and making a difference. And you feel it's time to figure out in what way you can do that in the next chapter of your career.
