Reflections & Realisations
Reflections & Realisations is a faith-based psychology podcast exploring how our past shapes who we become and how we can heal through self-awareness, spirituality, and compassion.
Hosted by Alveena, a Psychology MSc student, writer, and seeker, the podcast blends mental health insights, spirituality, and personal storytelling to explore themes of identity, healing, and growth.
Each episode unpacks the real psychology behind how we think, feel, and love, from attachment styles and trauma to faith, self-worth, and emotional resilience.
Born from years of journaling, therapy, and reflection, Reflections & Realisations invites you to slow down, question, and reconnect with yourself through honest conversations that bridge science and spirituality.
If you’re drawn to psychology, faith, healing, and self-discovery, this podcast is for you. No quick fixes. No perfect answers. Just real reflections that remind you that you are not alone in your journey.
Together, we explore:
- Mental health, emotion, and healing through a faith-based lens
- The psychology of attachment, trauma, and resilience
- How spirituality and self-awareness guide emotional growth
- Honest reflections on belonging, identity, and love
Join the journey toward understanding yourself and healing deeply, one reflection at a time.

I Didn't Think I Deserved Happiness
Use Left/Right to seek, Home/End to jump to start or end. Hold shift to jump forward or backward.
If joy feels unfamiliar…
If you flinch when life feels too easy…
If guilt creeps in whenever things go well —
You’re not broken. You’re just carrying a story that needs to be unlearned.
In this episode, we’re diving deep into joy —
Not just as an emotion,
But as an act of worship, healing, and service.
Here’s your Realignment Tool:
The Joy With Purpose Framework
- Reframe Joy as Worship
Joy is not the opposite of faith.
It’s an essential part of it.
Faith doesn’t teach us to fear happiness — it teaches us to pair it with gratitude and spiritual mindfulness.
Smiling, laughing, feeling at ease? That’s worship too. - Release Inherited Guilt
You are not betraying your roots by healing.
You don’t honor their pain by replicating it.
Their sacrifices were made so you could rise — not stay stuck.
Repeat after me:
Guilt is not the price of joy. - Return Joy Through Contribution
Your blessings are a trust.
So share your rest.
Use your healing to hold space for others.
Joy becomes even more meaningful when you pass it on.
As Dr. Nathaniel Branden teaches — purpose fuels self-worth.
So here’s your permission slip —
To feel joy.
To stop apologizing for it.
And to remember: ease can be just as divine as struggle.
