In this episode, David & Emily sit down for the first episode of HopLit, a beery book conversation with zero snobbery. In this first episode, David & Emily kick off June by discussing LGBTQIA+ authors, characters, and narratives, as well as different Pride events happening at bookstores and breweries. In addition, they catch up on recent readings and their TBR stacks, with a nod to a fun, literary-themed beer.

Emily Swank is an English teacher and the creator behind the Instagram account @thebeercanon. The Beer Canon works to pair books with craft beer, and has its own monthly brewery hopping book club. She's hosted bookish events with Columbus Brewing Company and Seventh Son Brewing, and is based in Columbus, Ohio.
