To Dare Together, Truth Seeking with Erin O'Brien, LPC, Witch
Hello friend! I’m so grateful you’re here. I created this space for you and I to spend some time together. To Dare, Together. To seek the truth in the depths. To Dare to tune into the wisdom and pleasure of our bodies. To honor the places that hold pain and renewal. To Dare to descend and arise, transformed in the never ending cycle of death and regeneration. To reenchant the world around us from a more embodied and integrated place. To Dare to join in honest connection where liberation, love, equity, beauty, joy, gratitude, sensuality, dignity, and reverence for all life on earth is at the heart of our sacred space.
I am your host, Erin O'Brien, licensed psychotherapist in practice for over 20 years, intuitive healer, relationship counselor, and dare I say, witch, and if you are willing, your friend. Together we will descend into the mystery, into the exquisite darkness because true liberation starts with healing from the inside out. And it happens when we dare to go there, together.
Where are we going, you may ask? Well, we are delving into all the realms of our experience. We will move through our body, heart, mind, soul, spirit, original and chosen family, relationships, communities, cultures, dominant systems in society, intergenerational patterning, ancestral wounds and wisdom, and the great expanse of our collective. Because when we are together, we will seek to know what is true. We will alchemize and transform, knowing that our fates are inevitably intertwined with one another. So let’s will it together.
My offering here will be a combination of solo explorations together, and deep dives with other like-hearted therapists, healers, intuitives, activists, magickal practitioners, artists, abolitionists, astrologers, visionaries, witches, and more. This is a place that will weave together the relational, social, and sacred sciences, because oh yes, they are all connected. I want to support our journey of transformation by sharing practices that we can facilitate because ultimately we are our own wisest guide, healer, and teacher. Our body holds so much intelligence if we just slow down enough to listen. When we know how to keep silent and just be, just breathe, just listen, we know how to summon our greatest powers of transformation.
We will explore practices that focus on increasing our somatic awareness, trauma integration, and nervous system regulation. We will work with our shadow to illuminate what needs to be alchemized or released. We will dismantle our internalized systems of dominance and extraction so we resonate with the reciprocity and abundance of life. We will deepen our understanding of intersectionality and how our social location in the world shifts our experiences of power and disembodiment. We will strive to relate with others in ways that are embodied and promote connection, celebrate differentiation, and respectfully move through rupture or conflict so that all beings preserve their dignity. We will conjure the wisdom of our ancestors to strengthen our communal spaces. We will create rituals to attune with the cycles of nature, lunar rhythms, astrology, and the wheel of the year. We will do pathworkings and divination to deepen our relationship to our Higher Self, Spirit Team, Intuition, Magick, Soul’s purpose, and so much more.
We are all here on Earth right now. It’s time To Dare to take a stand for healing, transformation, and collective liberation. And the first step starts from within. Let’s take it together.

Water Trine & New Moon in Scorpio: Truth Rises from the Deep, Now Speak!
In today's episode, we look at the celestial influences of the New Moon in Scorpio, which arrives like a tide at midnight—quiet on the surface, roaring beneath— and this week’s grand water trine turns that tide into a mirror. With the Sun, Moon, and Mercury all in Scorpio, Saturn and Neptune in Pisces, and Jupiter in Cancer, the chart invites a deep wash of intuition, clarity of heart, memory, and emotional movement. Water holds truth and it reflects what has been hidden. What has been whispered, denied, or distorted? Which truth wants current, not containment? And with Mercury retrograde, we are called to reclaim, revisit, and remember the power in our spoken truth. It can align responsibility, integrity, and care for ourselves, our communities, the land, and the Divine.
We explore the power of voice and devotional work with The Sovereignty Goddess Herself, The Morrigan, and center Her peace prophecy, imagining abundance shared from sky to earth, declaring prosperity and peace. Next we read her second prophecy, warning of evil times ahead when leadership is false. We credit Lora O’Brien’s native Irish sources and multiple learning paths for deeper practice at https://www.morrigan.academy/ and Morgan Daimler's translation of Irish text https://www.barnesandnoble.com/w/cath-maige-tuired-morgan-daimler-author-of-irish-paganism.
We explore the magick of Rosc poetry to take a stand using the power of our voice and how the energy of this week supports our righteous word, even when it's hard and vulnerable to declare. I share my first Rosc poem related to personal truth.
Water remembers. Words travel. Under Scorpio’s new moon, seeds of speech root deep and weave justice. Call your power back with care, and let your voice make it real.
Recorded on 11/20/25
Hello, and welcome back. Get ready to dare together, truth seeking in the depths for healing, transformation, and collective liberation. I'm your host, Erin O'Brien, licensed psychotherapist, in practice for over 20 years, intuitive healer, relationship counselor, and dare I say, witch. So the astrology this week is enormous. We have the sun and moon in Scorpio, and today, in fact, is the new moon. Technically, it happened earlier today, but it is a powerful new moon. And I want to speak a bit about what's going on in the astrological influences. We have this week a grand water shrine. And what that means is all three of the water signs, so all three of the same element makes aspects at 120 degrees. And so what's been going on this week, we have the Sun and Mercury in Scorpio, we have the moon in Scorpio today, the new moon, we have Jupiter in Cancer, and we have Saturn and Neptune in Pisces. So all of this is bringing in big reflection, big water energy, letting your intuition flow, letting your emotions run through you, and the places of stagnancy or stuckness, let those start to move. Water is movement, it's also stillness. You know, the saying, still waters run deep. So water is many, many things, and it's powerful. It can shape mountains and geography. And so why is it powerful right now? Water reflects the truth, it mirrors hidden elements back to you. And so we can use this energy, this powerful moment this week at the new moon, for really reckoning and confronting with the hidden truths or even the things that are moving through our unconscious or our shadow, that our intuition is trying to move us into a greater awareness, a greater consciousness. The sun symbolizes consciousness, right? And Scorpio as an energy, we're still in Scorpio season, and we are in Soin season, which is the whole month of November. And what Scorpio energy brings, and I'm a son in Scorpio, is really being able to move into the depths and into the layers and perceive a situation and understand all the aspects and to try to find what is obscured or hidden or what the lies are. And so this energy of having a new moon in Scorpio and the sun is still there, we have a lot of support right now to find the truth, see the truth, speak the truth. And a very powerful way to do that is with your voice. And there is magic with your voice. I want to talk a little bit about the influences going on right now with the celestial realm. You know, we've got all the outer planets doing a thing. We also have a Mercury retrograde that is happening. And so what do we know about the retrograde of Mercury? Mercury holds communication and messages, you know, movement, travel, and all of those things. Uh, I just was a part of a ritual that the coven that I'm a part of held this past weekend. It was a Hermes ritual, looking at that deity and all of the glorious magic and energy that Hermes brings as connected to Mercury and the symbolism there. So thinking about Mercury retrograde and also having been in Scorpio, it looks at what is the hidden messages, the hidden communication that needs to be known, your personal gnosis or the collective consciousness or unconsciousness, like what is moving there, and being able to access that right now, we have a lot of support to do that. And when any planet is retrograde, it invites us to reclaim, to reflect, to revisit, to remember, to reevaluate all those RE words. And what do you need to slow down and tune into that might be more subtle and easier to miss? So this is a time to do that. And I want to share a bit about what I've been doing in sowing season and Scorpio season. In my last episode, I had my wonderful friend and fellow witch Susan Rains on, and she shared her ancestor practice. And what I wanted to talk about today in the spirit of the new moon and new beginnings and planting seeds and going into the depths and the beautiful darkness and what is there that we can mine and we can finally confront. So I have been in a in a devotional practice with an Irish goddess that I've spoken about here before, the Morrigan, the Great Queen, and her sisters. And there are, you know, several sisters, the Bive, Makah, Nebin, and you know, thinking about how this practice for me has been so transformative. And this goddess moves in transformation and change. She moves in the liminal spaces. And I wanted to share a little bit about what I've learned and what I've been experiencing, and using the power of my voice to say my truth and put that out there. So I've been working with the Morrigan for many years, and sometimes known and unknown to me, she first showed herself to me as a wolf, and then later as Corvids, crows, ravens, all the blackbirds, then as horses. And I believe that because she is a shapeshifter and she is the mastermind of strategy, she knows when you are ready and in what form and how and the timing of all of this. So at that point, when she was working with me and inspiring me and supporting, pushing me, right, uh, she was coming through as a wolf. And I was had a deep affinity to working with uh wolves and the land and nature and animal spirits, and was really connected to some of that within druidry and druid craft, looking at animal symbolism. So she showed up in the very form that I could receive her in. And over time, once I deepened my spiritual practice, it became clear to me that it was her all along, showing up in different forms and in exactly the right time and shape that I needed and was receptive to, let's say. So there's so much to say about the Morrigan, and I really want to direct you right to the source, right to a native Irish author and priest of the Morrigan that I've talked about before, Laura O'Brien, who lives in Ireland and worked for decades as a priest of the Morrigan, but also as a guide and bringing fellow travelers to the Cave of Cats, her The Morrigan's ancestral and sacred home, and doing tours for people from an Irish history perspective. They have a master's in Irish history, but also in terms of spiritual practice and everyone's path to their development as a human, as a witch, as a druid, you know, whatever you, however, you identify. So what I have recently been doing is a daily devotional practice to the Morrigan. And I've been doing it for a while, but I was, I kind of made it a bit more formal at the dark moon last month. And it kind of officially concludes today at the new moon. And this was also inspired by something that Laura talked about both in her podcast and also in her book. Um, this is something that she does every year, and they have found it really helpful. So I thought I would try it on and see if it felt right, and it felt so right, and also made it my own, of course, as as we all should be doing in our personal spiritual practice. And what I wanted to deepen was working with Rosk poetry and prophecy and prophetic speech and clear speech, and that is part of what the Morrigan supports us all in. And anyone who wants to be in right relationship with her, she is a sovereignty goddess, and so she is all about this moment in time right now, and integrity and truth, and being in right relationship with your own sovereignty and power and integrity and your body. Your body is your personal land. So, how are you in relationship with your personal land and also the land beneath your feet in your local communities? And also, are you sovereign with the beings that are dependent on you that you actually have power over, like your children or the pets or the plants or you know, the natural world around you, your colleagues or you know, co-workers that you might supervise, you know, all of that. So, you know, for me, it's it's my children, it's my the beings I care for, it's the beloved humans that are my clients in my therapy practice. And so kind of always returning to this central question of am I a true sovereign? Am I truly in my integrity and walking the path of right action and right speech and clear, honest speech? And am I in alignment with recognizing that my sovereignty is connected to everyone else's sovereignty? And in fact, I'm not in right relationship with my sovereignty if it impedes or infringes on someone else's. And so this is really at the heart about our community and the people. And that's what a sovereignty goddess is all about, and in particular the Morrigan, from what I've learned from Laura's book and everything that Laura has that they've put out. So I feel really purposeful and called to, as part of my final, you know, concluding day of my devotional daily practice to the Morrigan to speak about her and what she's done for me. And I started a community circle with Laura O'Brien, in fact, um, that started on Saturday with a with a live workshop. And it's called Crows, Cry and Chaos. And it's all about the Morrigan's magic and the power of voice and Rosk poetry and being a satirist, and and essentially, again, I'll direct you back to Source, Native Irish Authentic Source, to check out all the things at the Irish pagan community or the Ohm community or the Morrigan Academy. That is where you want to go. Let me just maybe be an introduction for you, um, maybe a a soft, a soft bridge to the real source. And learning about the power of the spoken word and how that was what the Morrigan that was such an integral part of her magic. So, in the spirit of wanting to be in truth and and having courage and speaking truth to power, I mean, that's the Morrigan is one of many deities and spiritual beings and great ones or divine ones, whatever you're comfortable naming them as, that is here right now recognizing that the earth is struggling, really struggling. And we as a people are in need of remembering our power and our sovereignty, and that we are we are strongest when we are together, when we are caring for each other and when we are working as a whole. And that doesn't mean that individuals don't matter or don't have, don't we need everyone's unique voices to be as inclusive as we possibly can. And we need to come together. And the current leadership and the current powers that be are not in right relationship. They are false. And we know this because there is so much suffering and struggle and battle and war and genocide and all the things, right? It's not supposed to be this way. So I joined this workshop. It is awesome. And one of the things that I wanted to share here, in the spirit of speaking truth to power, speaking my truth, and using my magic as I'm developing it as a person who's of the diaspora of Ireland, right? I I'm of Irish ancestry, is really being able to say my truth. And what I want to start with actually is sharing Rosc poems that the Morrigan herself delivered to her people. And I'm gonna share those, and then I'm gonna share my own. And this is powerful spoken word to say the words that the Morrigan in the mythology in the Irish text had said. And so I do that with a lot of respect and reverence, and I want any of you who might want to hear her powerful words to be to have access to it. And also, again, always go to Native Irish Source. And if you're looking for a good person, there's Laura O'Brien and also Morgan Daimler is someone who did a full English translation of some really key Irish mythology called the Kamachura, and this was the second battle of Mochura. And the brief summary of this is that the Tuidae, which were the Irish gods, uh, they were being oppressed by the Femorians in the Irish mythology, and they were strategizing their battles and how they were going to reclaim their sovereignty to Ireland, to their land, because they were being harmed and the land was being harmed. And so this is one of the stories where the Morrigan is very active in the battle, but not just the battle, the outcome of what happens and how she uses prophecy and the power of the spoken word to talk to the people at the end of the battle about what was to come. And there's lots of rosk throughout this particular story, the Kama Chora. However, I'm gonna just read the final two prophecies and I will do that now. I love this poem so much. What news with you? Everyone asked her then. Peace to sky, sky to earth, earth below sky, strength in each one, a cup over full, filled with honey, sufficiency of renown, summer in winter, spears supported by warriors, warriors supported by forts, forts fiercely strong, banished our sad outcries, land of sheep, healthy under antler points, destructive battle cries held back, crops on trees, a branch resting, resting with produce, sufficiency of sons, a son under patronage, on the neck of a bull, a bull of magical poetry, knots in trees, trees for fire, fire when wished for. Wished for earth, getting a boast, proclaiming of borders, borders declaring prosperity, green growth after spring, autumn increase of horses, a troop for the land, land that goes in strength and abundance, be it a strong, beautiful wood, long lasting, a great boundary, have you a story peace to sky, be it so lasting to the ninth generation. So that's what's known as her peace prophecy. And then shortly after, I'm gonna just continue on reading, she was afterwards among them prophesizing the years at the end of existence, and further promising each evil and lack in those years, and every plague and every vengeance, so that there she chanted her poem. Something seen is a world that shall not be pleasing, summer deprived of flowers, cows deprived of milk, women deprived of modesty, men deprived of valor, conquests without a king, pointed, bearded, mouths of many oaths, sorrow, allured without judgments, sea without profit, multitude of storms, excessively tonsured, forts barren of structures, hollow, a stronghold coming from mistakes, a devastated time, many homeless, an excess of lords, joy in evil, a cry against traditions, bearded faces, equipment decaying, numerous exploits, finding battles, silent towards a spurred horse, numerous assemblies, treachery of lords' sons, covered in sorrow, crooked judgment of old men, false precedents of judges, a betrayer, every man, a reaver, every son. The son will go lay down instead of his father, the father will go lay down instead of his son. In law, each to his own kinsman, a person will not seek women out of his house, a long enduring evil period of time will be generated. A son betrays his father, a daughter betrays her mother. So that is the final prophecy, at least in this translation by Morgan Daimler. And some feel that maybe this is what we're living in now. And I just know that when I read those words, it I feel the movement. I feel the energy of my ancestors in those words. I feel the rhythm and the incitement. I feel the the way that I both want to cry and scream at the same time. And I feel the vision, I see the vision that's in her prosperity speech and prophecy. So I wanted to say those words of the Morrigan on the the completion day of my devotional practice that I've been doing over the sowing season with her. And sorry. But before I do, I want to share something. I want to speak something. And what I want to speak is that one of the ways that the Morrigan has opened my eyes, quite literally, is to see that my vision has been declining. And that has been something very much in my shadow that I have been avoiding and denying and feeling quite you know unsure of my reality. And I'll say a couple, a couple things about that. I trusted the powers that be in relation to some decisions about my eyes almost a year ago at this point, 10 months ago. And I um had some surgery done. And I very quickly realized that I was not seeing very well at all, and kept being told that, you know, I was essentially imagining it and everything was fine. Uh, that was not true. And so I had a pair of glasses that I had gotten to sort of be a band-aid a bit on this situation that was steadily declining over many months, about five or six months. And then right before I was uh maybe in the planning stages of co-creating the Sowin ritual for uh the coven I'm a part of and the larger tradition. We did a joint uh Sowin ritual with another coven. And in the month of October, I was doing a lot of devotional practice and a lot of connecting with spirit and my higher self and my guides and guardians and great ones, and in in particular the Morrigan, because she was the she was the main attraction at the Sowin ritual. It was all about her and how she, how I felt her wanting to support the work that we were going to be doing in the ritual around reclaiming our power and our sovereignty and being in our integrity and confronting truth and releasing lies and internalized dominance and oppression and all the things that we need to address within before we can have any chance to address all around us. So there was a lot of shadow work within that ritual. Anyway, what happened was my glasses that I hadn't lost in, you know, six months, which is kind of funny actually, because I like lose, I lose uh readers and glasses, and they they tend to, I don't hang on to them maybe for a very long time. So, but these glasses I held on to because I was so attached to them, because they let me see just a smidge better than without them, and I just became deeply dependent on them. And they vanished. They vanished from my house. I have not found them yet. And this happened in mid-October, and I knew right away, I knew right away, I just had this feeling in my bones that this was her confronting me with uh a disruption that would require me to see what I could not see, quite literally, to address my vision. And I did. And I saw my eye doctor and I went on a you know, ride, uh a roller coaster ride of seeing lots of different vision folks and realizing that back in however many months ago, 10 months ago, I got the wrong eye surgery. And because of that, I have limited choices in what's available to me. And this is these are my eyes, this is my vision. So I am I have righteous anger and fury about the ways that I was lied to and and mistreated around this. So anyway, that is the inspiration for my Rosk poem that I'm going to have the am I gonna do this? Yeah. I'm gonna read it. Okay, this is my first attempt at Rosk poetry in honor of the deity that I have been doing a lot of devotional work with and who has I've been walking a path, a spiritual path, around trying to be in my truth, even if it's really fucking hard. Okay. Eyes cut, burning, blurry, can't see, silver tongues, lying for profit. Lie down, be still, don't breathe, quick decisions, fast machines, fat pockets lined with lies, filled with blood and tears, water reflects truth, gaslit reality, but I still can't see. The eye they can't cut has sight, can see, strength in numbers. How many eyes cut for profit? Eyes cut can't see. What you have done returns in three. Justice rises, sight renewed, and reparations abound. So modi. I'm gonna leave that here. Thank you for tuning in. Happy new moon in Scorpio, which, if you follow Evo Dominguez Jr. Who is an amazing magical practitioner and Author and all around human, he has put out there lots of books on your sun sign. And his perspective is that your sun sign holds the seat of your magic, the seat of your abilities in this lifetime. And being still in Scorpio season and honoring that the new moon is in Scorpio and the Sun is still in Scorpio. It is a moment of being in a hard depth for me, but confronting what I what I truly could not see. So yeah, I'm grateful. This feels vulnerable as fuck, but I'm gonna do it because uh voice matters and what you have to say matters. So say it. This is the time. Say it, even if it feels scary. Say what's true, but put it out there. It does weave fates, it is powerful. All right. Thank you so much. Have a wonderful, you know, rest of your night or day or whatever time you might tune in. As above, so below, as within, so without, as the universe, so the soul. I'm your host, Aaron O'Brien, and thank you for listening. See you next time.
