Unfiltered & Unapologetic with Caitlin
Unfiltered & Unapologetic blends money, nervous system regulation, faith, and cultural healing — especially for first-gen and children of immigrants who learned survival before stability.
Hosted by Caitlin Gil-Soto (MSF candidate), this is where we rewrite narratives around money, rest, boundaries, relationships, and self-worth with emotional depth, cultural context, and practical tools.
You’ll hear conversations on:
• Faith and identity
• Nervous system patterns and emotional trauma
• Money guilt, abundance, and financial healing
• Boundaries without fear
• Rest and softness as generational repair
• What it means to break cycles with compassion, not aggression
If you’re healing yourself while honoring where you come from — this podcast was made for you.

46. It Felt Like Them… But You Lost Yourself in the Process (Part 2 of 2)
Use Left/Right to seek, Home/End to jump to start or end. Hold shift to jump forward or backward.
If you listened to Part 1, you already know — it didn’t feel like them… it felt like you.
But this episode goes deeper.
Because attachment doesn’t just keep you connected to someone — it slowly pulls you away from yourself. You don’t always notice it right away… you just start feeling off, distracted, and more in your head than usual.
This episode breaks down how that happens — and how to come back to yourself.
Segment 1 — You Lost Your Focus
When you get attached, your attention shifts. You start thinking about them more than yourself — replaying conversations, checking your phone, trying to figure them out. And little by little… you stop being present in your own life.
Prompt: When did I start thinking more about them than myself?
Affirmation: I return my energy back to myself.
Segment 2 — They Became Your Center
At some point, your mood starts depending on them — their attention, their consistency, their presence. And that’s where you begin to disconnect from yourself.
Prompt: When did my mood start depending on this person?
Affirmation: My peace is mine.
Segment 3 — It Feels Like Desire… But It’s Activation
Inconsistency creates emotional highs and lows that feel like connection, but it’s actually your nervous system reacting to a pattern. What feels intense isn’t always aligned.
Prompt: Does this bring me peace… or just emotional highs and lows?
Affirmation: I do not confuse intensity with alignment.
Segment 4 — You Knew
There were moments where something didn’t feel right… but you explained it away. That’s where self-trust starts to break.
Prompt: When did I first feel something was off… and ignore it?
Affirmation: I trust myself.
Segment 5 — The Cost
This kind of attachment drains your time, energy, and focus. While you were trying to understand them… you stopped choosing yourself.
Prompt: What has this situation been costing me?
Affirmation: I am no longer available for confusion.
Segment 6 — Coming Back to Yourself
The shift starts when you bring your attention back to you. Your power is in where your energy goes.
Prompt: What does choosing myself look like right now?
Affirmation: I choose myself fully.
