Welcome back to another Tunnel Tuesday. These episodes are designed to be more of a meditation or a visualization that help coaches be great coaches. So settle in, find a space where you are not distracted, quite relaxed, and where you can focus a little bit.
SPEAKER_00I invite you to take a few deep breaths with me. Settle in, find your space in your body, go to that happy place in your soul. Starting to feel good here. Settled in.
SPEAKER_01We're in the middle of a forest this time. Hiking up a trail. And we are feeling good, and we're working hard, and we're breathing hard. And we have a goal. We want to make it to the top. And we're carrying a backpack with us because we have supplies. We're prepared. We have experiences. We have stories.
SPEAKER_00We have experience. We have education. We have wisdom. And these things are very useful.
SPEAKER_01And up ahead you can see the top. But something is beckoning to you from the left. And as you look over to your left, you see that it appears that someone else has made a little bit of a different trail, and you get curious. And so before you make it to the top and meet your goal, you decide to take a little detour and follow this other trail. And as you move along this side trail, you come to an opening in the rock. And this opening seems familiar, like you've seen it before. You move the brush aside. Aha. You're a smart one. You figured it out. This is the tunnel of slowing down. And as you move into the tunnel of slowing down, and your backpack familiarly gets heavy, you start to take things out of your backpack. The knowing, the surety that you're doing it right. The wondering that you're doing it wrong. The doubts. The insecurities, and with a smile on your face, you're just laying everything down. The responsibility, being attached to the outcomes. And as you take each item out of your backpack, name it, see it, perhaps even think it, and then give it to the tunnel. As the tunnel of slowing down has done many times before, it lights up. It delights in holding these things for us as we explore our coaching magic. We're emptying of anything that is not magic. Even the barking of dogs or the meowing of cats. And as you end, as you come closer to the end of the tunnel, you hang up your backpack, knowing you can pick up anything that you'd like to on your way back. And we're coming into the land of coaching magic to play with our experience. This is a lab, a safe space where you can play and grow. And today we're going to play with the experience of a do-over. I'd like you to imagine that you have a ticket in your hand. It's a season pass. An all access season pass expires never. Unlimited season pass to do-overs. Sometimes, as coaches, after a coaching session, this is when we have a realization of something we wish we would have said, we wish we would have done. And in the land of coaching magic, you can do over anything that you wish. To use your all access paths, first choose an experience, maybe from the past day, the past week, that you would like a do-over. As you have reflected on your actions, you feel you could have responded in a different way. Maybe you reacted instead of responded. Maybe just an additional insight came to you afterwards. And you thought, wow, it would have been useful for me to say that during the session, or feel that, or not say that. So recall a scenario where you would like a do-over. And now with that in your mind, go right to the moment of the experience where you would like to shift the energy, change how you responded. Go right to that moment. Feel what it felt like. Become aware of the clothes you were wearing, the room you were in, where people were sitting or standing, the pictures on the wall, the texture of the ground. Maybe the room was cool or warm. Go right there and be back in that frozen piece of the experience. Now slowly, slowly let that experience unfold as if you were pushing play, slow motion play on your remote control. Play it out slowly. And then freeze the frame again. Changing your behavior, changing your energy, shifting it in your mind. It's possible that you may see or witness what your triggers were. It's also very possible that you may see where you were shining. If you have any insights, feel free to open your eyes, write them down. Feel free to stay in this land of coaching magic and play with this do-over exercise as long as you like.
SPEAKER_00Feel free to come back as often as you'd like.
SPEAKER_01Or maybe it's just fine that you didn't go to the top of the mountain this time. I invite you to capture your insights from this Tunnel Tuesday episode. I would be honored if you would share your insights with me. It's such a fun reward to see and witness your magic from the land of coaching magic.
