We are none other than your latest and greatest and hopefully your favorites wrestling podcast in the land. That's right. It's the Section 8 Wrestling Podcast. I am Kills At Wills. I am Billy. And today, tonight, whenever it is you're deciding to join our wonderful corner of the internet, we're going to do what we always do in a way, which we talk about wrestling. But today, tonight, whenever it is, we are going to talk about a little P P P L E as they call it. We still call it pay-per-views because boy don't like that name. We had a little elimination chamber go down. Elimination chamber.

The last premium live event on the road to WrestleMania. So these two elimination chambers will decide the final two main events for the world championships. One for the men, one for the women.

Indeed. So we had Wade Barrett, Michael Cole on announcement. We are live, live, live in Chicago, Illinois. Chatown. Home of one C M Punk and one adopted home, I guess, of AJ Lee. It kind of got just like, oh, she's from Chicago. Right.

They kept saying it's her hometown. And I was waiting for her when they came out. She came out and they built her from Union City, New Jersey. I'm like, then why are we saying she's from Chicago? What are we doing here? I get she lives there, yes, but she's not from Chicago.

Anyway, we'll get we'll get to that match. Getting to that. We'll get to that. Um, seeing how it is in Chicago, we have a nice little uh CM Punk intro. He's walking around his city. Uh he's you know, him being a you know, who would have thought a guy like me would be in this stage, this and that. You know, it's a nice little Phil intro. But we get the show started, and we start off with the women's elimination chamber match. The winner fights Jade Cargill at WrestleMania 42, not 22, as the uh announcer said, but we'll get to him uh when the men's when the men's chamber comes up. Uh we have your uh entries. I wrote them in the order that they entered uh into the match. It is at least the entrance that they came out, so they went to the pods in the last two. So it was Alexa Bliss, Asuka, Raquel Rodriguez, Rhea Ripley, Keanu James, and Tiffany Stratton. Jade is ringside. Well, no, she's not ringside, she's watching up from a suite. From a suite, suite, and she's up there holding the belt. She's watching the proceedings. Uh, all in all, this match was great. Women's women's elimination chamber match. Kiana and Tiffy started off. Um, Kiana having a really good starting. Uh Asuka's able to get in there. Then Alexa Bliss gets in there, then mommy's able to get in there. So we get a lot of the good core of the women in there early. Bliss does a twelxa bliss does a nice twisted bliss off of the little pod. Looked really dope. Um things are going pretty well for Miss Bliss. And then she turns around, gets missed. It's missed by Oscar. Out of nowhere. Asuka, who started off, had a real good showing. Had a when she came out the pod, it was a whole thing. She's doing a lot of kicks. Boom, boom, boom, boom, boom. Got real good pop from the Chicago crowd. Uh so that was really good to see. But Asuka miss Asuka missed Alexa Bliss. There it is. Kiana James takes advantage, and Keanu James gets elimination on Alexa Bliss. So Keanu James gets uh elimination chamber elimination, and we're down to five. We are down to five. Then Raquel comes in. I did have a little note. I wish that Alexa would have been in there when everybody got in there, but sometimes, as uh our recent match of the week we talked about, sometimes you get eliminated before anybody else. It can happen. That's good. Um Raquel Rodriguez, everybody, she shows out. Um, just a big note. She shows out, she's in there doing big hits and just really being big mommy cool. She drives Kiana through one of the pods, picks her up, there's a running slam, bow, right through one of the one of the one of the panes there. And it's it's uh wow, it's really cool.

It was cool. She was uh she was wearing meta glasses when she was in the pod. So when Tiffy did her uh handspring like back elbow into the pod, and she was they're like, Oh, and here's a shot from a cow Rodriguez. So like they had a live feed from her glasses, and like you hear her laughing and pointing at Tiffy as she like hits the pod. It's like that's a cool touch. That's a good touch to give her because she was always wearing glasses anyway. Like, that's like her thing. So it was cool that they were metaglasses. We got to see literally her point of view when Tiffy just face plants right into the the glass.

That's a funny move. It's a funny bitch, does her whole flip as she does, and just no one's there just she hit it good, yeah, man. Uh then we have Raquel um picks Asuka up, slams on Keanu James, and eliminates Asuka and Keanu James at the same time.

Very cool. Yeah, I don't know if I've ever seen that. So it was two eliminations right there.

I've never I know I haven't. It might have happened before, but it's it's been a minute since I've gone through elimination chambers. Yeah, so we went from five to three real quick. Like that, we're down to three. Rhea does a really good cannonball off one of the pods. They've got uh T up, and Rhea does a nice little flip off one of the pods, looks really great. Tiffy hits the prettiest moonsault ever on Raquel, eliminates Raquel. We're down to Rhea and Tiffy. It's either mommy or Tiffy time, and guess what time it is? Mommy's always on top. Ladies and gentlemen, your women's elimination chamber winner won Rhea Ripley.

Let's go. As of this laying it down, there's been some recent scuttlebutt online. So I think this whole thing is just building up to be a very good fantastic. We're gonna see some good promos. Uh uh now Rhea uh looks like she's uh, you know, is she is she you know, is she gonna go to SmackDown? What's gonna happen?

You know what I mean? Right, because she's feuding with her now. Yeah, especially since uh her and EO uh we'll talk you'll hear about it in our SmackDown uh preview, but they lost the tag team belts the night before. So I had a feeling that was if since they dropped the belts that that they were probably gonna give her to Rhea, because I mean I don't know why they couldn't have her help with a belt too, but eh, give her something this way they don't have to focus on both. That's the same thing. The women's we talked about it last week. The women's tag champs are very busy since there's only one pair of belts uh between both shows. So this way she could focus on WrestleMania and Lash and Naya can go be tag champs everywhere. So uh congrats to Rhea Ripley. I can't wait for that match of WrestleMania gets Jade.

Kidd mommy. That brings us to our next match. It is the Women's Intercontinental Championship match. It is Becky Lynch, the man versus AJ Lee, her first singles match in a decade.

Yes. Uh uh Becky is in charge for most of the match, but can't seem to get the pin. She's putting a lot of good moves on AJ. AJ's kicking out, just won't stay down, even if the man handle slammed. Yep, Becky's getting frustrated. Uh can't can't seem to just get it done. Uh Becky's removing a turnbuckle as she's getting frustrated. Uh Jessica Carr momentarily um gets stunned by the exposed turnbuckle. Then Becky tries to uh Becky Becky, yeah. Becky tries to kick her. Uh AJ tries to hit the Black Widow, but Becky, uh Becky Carr. Jessica Carr doesn't see it. Becky starts tapping, and the ref is still uh uh down from well, she hits hits the buckle, kind of shakes it off. Then she gets accidentally kicked by Becky. By Becky. Yeah, which hey, Jessica Carr should shook off a uh an exposed turnbuckle. Most referees are down and out.

Props to Jessica Carr. Yeah, good for her. She's she's tough. Becky's going out, she grabs a chair, hits a D, it's her with a DDT on the chair, then a man handle slam. AJ still kicks out. Still kicks out at that point. What is what is one to do? Becky's getting into it with Jessica Carr, and she gets pushed. Becky hits the exposed turnbuckle, not as resilient as Jessica Carr. AJ hits the Black Widow on her. It's it's people, I have kind of noticed that the Black Widow is not like in its full, like not as tight as it used to be. You know, could she could be she's just getting back into it, whatever, but still the Black Widow. We get the official tap, hashtag and you in her first singles match in a decade. Your winner and new women's intercontinental champion, everybody. AJ Lee. AJ Lee.

That brings us to our next match. It is for the World Heavyweight Championship. It is Finn Balor versus the best in the world. CM Punk. Uh after they make this announcement, we we we we're we're we're given a little bit of a commercial. R Truth basically sells us pizza. They're standing outside the box, and uh right. I'll tell you what's in the box. There's pizza in the box. You know what? Y'all worry about that box. I'm gonna take this one and pizza cool.

This match, this match I was most excited for uh for the night. Uh it just these two guys have such they haven't, I don't think they've ever really wrestled before, I mean, since the last time. Uh but that match was just so good. So you know that on a pay-per-view level, it's going to be even better if you can believe that. Because that match on Raw was flawless.

The match on Raw was pretty good. I will be honest, I think I liked that match a little better. I think Punk got a little gassed toward the end. Um, the pacing was uh it felt a touch slow. I think you know, Raw. I think you're it it they had they I think they're probably under a stricter time, so they maybe had to be a little tired on Raw, as opposed to Elimination Chamber. They could stretch a bit, so I think they did stretch a bit, but I think I think Punk looked a little gassed, but it it was it was a good match. I was excited. It wasn't it was a good match. I was excited for it. So let's talk about CM Punk's entrance. For everyone that doesn't get like how exciting that entrance was, so that was huge. There was once a a young man that graced the United Center by the name of Michael Jordan, and he some would consider him the greatest basketball player of all time, some would. I do. It's up for a lot of debates, as do I, but I think Michael Jordan is the greatest of all time. It is what it is. So there they there was an iconic entrance that during their big run that you know they played this song, and it'd be like, oh no, you know, the Chicago Bulls. And so CM Punk uh dim the dims the lights, he uses that song, has the announcer. I don't know if it's the same one, but it's it's the same guy, same guy uh comes out and announces him before Cult of Personality comes out. He's wearing a jacket dedicated to Larry, and I believe he's rocking Chicago Blackhawk colors. Yeah, he was down even down to like the socks were were kind of like the boots and the and the trunks.

Yeah, I mean, that was he was the player of the 90s. How many times did we hear that and see that when in the finals? And I mean, that was that was America's team back in the day, back in the 90s. It was that was it. So it was it was very cool. I got chills seeing seeing Punk walk out with that. I was like, Oh, that's cool. I'm not even from Chicago, I'm from the Bay Area.

So that was very cool. Um, we do not get Demon Finn Balor, but what we do get is uh he keeps his old, he brings back the old theme music. It's it if you didn't know any better, you would not think he was in Judgment Day. Um it just looks like he's back to kind of like the Dark Prince, kind of right before he joined. Um, so uh yeah, Baylor drop kicks punk uh through the barricade, a little cool spot where he runs up and boom, drop kick. I love that drop kick. Yeah. Um Baylor through uh Baylor throws a lot of big shots, uh, but punk is punk, you know, it's CM Punk, he survives a coup de grade. Um it's it's it's Finn doing his absolute best. But I will say one thing. I feel like the crowd wasn't as into this as maybe they should have been, only because if everybody in the building knows who's going to win, it's kind of like you're I felt like they were waiting for like a judgment day, they're waiting for like a surprise. Like, okay, yeah, what's what's going to happen that we don't know? Because we all know CM Punk's going to win this match, because they're not gonna mess up, it's not gonna happen, it's not gonna happen. So I think that even for Chicago, I feel like they weren't I feel yeah, they were like holding their breath the whole time, yeah. And because they were doing that and nothing happened, they all just pass out because they were just waiting and waiting, and then the match ended like yeah, um, even one point like Finn goes over to the ropes, he's kind of looking back, and you maybe get this feeling like, oh, is he gonna like call him out?

They were even saying that on commentary. Yeah, um, like, is he gonna call judge? He doesn't call judgment day, blah blah blah.

It's like all right, cool. Nope. Uh no judgment day. So punk uses a sharpshooter, which I don't think I've ever seen him use.

He hopes Tribal Chief won in Chicago. Uh Finn and Punk shake hands afterward. Finn, you know, it gives a good sportsmanship. Yeah, this and that. And then AJ comes out to celebrate with the hubby. Hey, I won. Oh, hey, you won. Hey, we won.

No, we're talking about that crate, it's just it's a completely blacked out background, and the crates just sit there with Nick all this Adam Pierce, and they jimmy it open, and you see uh a coffin kind of standing up in there. If you do, if you do not know who Dan Housen is, I'd like to give a shout out to my boy John O'Hagan, who is the first person that put Dan Housen on my list. So I I already get a lot of the of what like I I I I almost don't want to say a whole lot because if they let him cook, like I believe they're going to let him cook, and you check out our uh a review of SmackDown Rod, and they did let him cook a little bit. One of which was his lady, the league one was his lady's wife, who's like a burlesque dancer, and like her like famous burlesque dancer in her own right, I believe. I think I did my research right. Hopefully, I don't want to get cursed. Yes, no, ha ha. Uh, he comes out uh in a little cape and whole thing, and it's it feels like a very like Halloween kooky, like the monsters. The only thing that was missing was like the camera wasn't moved, doing like a totally yeah, it was it was silly, it was it was very, very Dan Housen giving Michael Cole the jar of teeth. Very funny.

So we had said in our last uh one of our last episodes that Dan Housen, it was rumored that he might be in the crate, and we both said that from you know, from what you've heard and from what I knew, like that sounds on par and on brand. So when he popped out, I was like, okay, well, yep, here we go. Yeah, yeah. So uh he cut he comes out and it's poof, and it's not even like a big explosion, it's like one small one, then one of the ring posts, and then it just goes dark, and it's like he disappears, and then yeah, you hear a lot of booze, you hear some boos, and you know, oh well, yeah.

Oh, yeah. With the rotating platform and everything. Yeah, man, with the with the Robert Rude turn, the glorious spin and just the all white and the woo. Trick is here to stay, everybody. Trick is here to stay. That brings out next LA Knife. Yeah. He comes out second. Then we get the Maverick Logan Paul. He comes out next. Then next is the Viper himself, the apex predator, Randy, Orton, followed by Bouncy, the young OG himself, who had a we were laughing because he comes out. He's like, ah, I'm nervous. I'm nervous.

There has been some very there's been some very fun memes with the three of them, like little shots, little things of Javon Nation of Domination. Javon, Trick, and Cody. And it's like three brush beaten on Logan Paul.

Uh what hits it's the blunt force trauma.

Shout out my guy Chava. He's like, I wonder who's gonna be the first one to get eliminated. I said, probably Javon. He's like, Why? And I'm like, cuz young OG. He's there, he's there to be beat, get in early, be flashy, be great, show off, and then it's his foot in the door, and then move out of the way because that he's not winning.

So it's it's his rookie year. So he had the great rumble appearance. He is its first time elimination chamber. I'm sure he'll be in Money in the Bank if I don't remember if he was last year or not, but if not, he will be this year for sure. Yeah, uh, but yeah, that's it's his rookie season, so they're giving him a big push, and he's succeeding. So give me all the Javon Evans.

All the Javon Evans, keep it bouncing. But he is eliminated by Logan Paul. Then Logan Paul turns around, eliminates LA Knight, much to much to the chagrin of a lot of people. They did not like that, especially then when he especially then when he turned around and eliminated Trick Williams. So they gave three eliminations to Logan Paul. Yeah, and just like that, we're down to three in one failed swoop. Uh, but guess what? Tell me. It's masked man time, everybody. Mass man time. It's masked man time. Who another masked man? Who's the mass man? Well, as you may or may not have known, if you don't go watch the the SmackDown recap and the recaps of the week because there was a decoy. Somebody got got got oh masked. It's like, who is this? Come to find out he was maybe somebody in a certain person's fight school. Don't get ahead, we'll get there. So then we have a masked man come out, and he's oh, they they they're they're able to catch him before he gets into the ring, and they're dragging him back, and they pull the mask off. It's another guy. Who is this? Even Adam Pierce is like, Who are you?

Slow, methodical step into the ring, and it kind of doesn't really take body language experts to kind of look at this and go, mix with the rumors, mix with the storyline, it can only be one person. Guess what, everybody? We finally know who the masked man is. Guess who's back? It is the innovator, the architect, the revolutionary. We set freaking owls. And it I shout out to I believe WrestleMania is where I saw it because I want to give credit when I I don't want to think like I oh I I came up with this theory. No, they said this, and they said it was interesting. There's no yellow in Seth's hair, it's not he's not flashy, he's serious, he's in, so it's like he might be tuned in to the Kings. This might be the Kings Slayer. Kings Slayer might be back, uh, or even uh early show crazy Seth, where he's just like, whatever, man.

Let me tell you what, everybody, being the being the the the when I got when I got back into wrestling, I kind of told myself, being a being a man who's in his 40s, like, look, it's it's kind of silly to get invested in some of these characters and some of these things, because I mean, it's we all know it's it's it's scripted, it's not gonna call it fake. It's scripted, it's it's stunt filled, it's it's one of the things. So that being said, I didn't approach this match with any kind of fandom, so I didn't have Randy Orton winning.

Never been that way. Because at some point, whoever has the belt, even if it's you, I'm coming. And so it's this, it took a minute, it was slow burn, but Randy Orton snapping on his boy.

After Elimination Chamber goes off, there's Elimination Chamber post show. Apparently, Nick Aldous comes to Drew and he goes, Hey, so I'm getting real tired of you messing with Cody Rhodes and interfering, interfering and sticking where you know where it don't belong, and and being so guess what? What happens? So guess what? Friday night, it's you versus Cody for the championship.

So that's where my head is going. At first I thought it was a triple threat, but since Randy Orton won fair and square in the chamber, I think it's gonna be a fatal four-way. So we'll just have to see if we are seven weeks away from mania.

Oh, I would love for it to j. I I wish that they would, you know, a bunch of hindsight and just things like that. Man, I just feel like if you were gonna have Orton win the Elimination Chamber, have a legit kind of storyline between him and Randy. Because you can build all that legacy stuff, you can show caps and you do flashbacks, you can do a whole kind of thing, bro. We can build up kind of like what they used to do for this. Like you have two, three weeks of story, they might kind of wrestle a little bit, they'll get into it, but you it's personal, you have this whole thing there. Maybe Cody is is feeling a certain way, like, and it's just you know, so we'll see.
