We are back. And who who are we? Kills, who are we? We are the latest and greatest, and hopefully your favorites wrestling podcast, the Section 8 Wrestling Podcast. I am Bills. I am Kills at Wills. I'm Billy. And today, tonight, whenever you want to join us in our little corner of the internet, I'm doing pretty good, aren't I, Gills? Look at that. We I we are flipping the script because this this was a special week for many reasons. Um, SmackDown and Raw were both in our home state of California. Both shows were close enough to get to one of us went to both shows. Spoiler, it wasn't me.

Not only did he go to both shows, but it was his first television taping. He had been you've been in a couple pay-per-views before, right?

I have been I went to a elimination chamber when it was in uh Oakland and Mania 31. Before that, it was like random house shows and they'd come through Oakland, right?

So if for those of you who have never been to a live show before, um they're they're a different breed because it is live, they have to tend with commercial breaks and all of that. So you get to see what happens behind the scenes. Uh, he had never seen, they're like, What's happening? They change the mat out in between matches during commercial breaks, and they do it in three to three minutes, and it's cool, it's very cool.

Yeah, well-oiled machine. You see entrances of people, and then it's you're like, what do they do in between? They stand there in the ring and they wait for them to come back from commercial break, and that's exactly what they do. So it was, I mean, I won't speak for you, but it was cool to see a lot of those uh background stuff and all that. But so we will get to all those things uh when we get to Monday Night Raw. But first, I'm going to bring you Friday Night SmackDown. Let's go, Berlium. Intros are fun. I see why you like to do. Yeah, yeah. So I said, Smackdown was in San Jose, California. About, I don't know, half hour from us.

Smackdown kicks off. Uh Cody Rhodes, the champ, is walking in. He is upset, he's looking for Pat McAfee. And Nick Aldous is like, cool, he's not here yet, and he has orders from the superiors, whoever that may be, and Cody Rhodes questions who the superiors are. Uh that he or nor anybody who works for the WWE, keep that in mind, cannot put their hands on Pat McAfee. So Cody goes, Oh, rump, okay. So uh so they're both walking in during this conversation. Good old Jelly Roll rocks out too, and he's also looking for Pat Mc or he's looking for Randy Orton specifically, and he's like, he's on his way too, blah blah blah. And it's like Jelly Roll, cool, whatever. Anyway, so they're talking. Jelly Roll wants his piece of Randy Orton, Pat McAfee, Cody Rhodes wants his piece of Pat McAfee, more than Randy Orton at this point, which is odd. We'll get to that. Uh so it gets to inside, and we hear Rhea Ripley's music hits, and she walks out with vengeance in her eyes. She is pissed off because of the beatdown that Jade gave to Eo Sky right in front of her last week or on Monday Night Raw earlier in the week. So she comes out, she's like, I want Jade out here now. I want to beat her down, blah, blah, blah. Instead of Jade's music, we hear EO's. So EO walks down, makes her way down, and she says, You're mad, I'm mad too. I want to take on Jade. So uh Nick Aldis comes out and he's like, You want it, you got it, I'll make it official. So the main event, actually, of the night will be Jade Cargo versus Eo Sky. Yep. Next up, we get our first match of the evening, which is the first hometown superstar of the night, Bailey, coming out with Lyra Vicaria. She takes on Alexa Bliss, uh, who is accompanied, of course, by her best friend Charlotte. Uh, it's two of the four tag teams involved in the women's tag team championship match at Mania. Um, and like I said, it's a homecoming for Bailey. Uh, so she always gets a huge pop, being she is from San Jose proper. Um, it's a great god, I gotta stop saying um. I was listening to our old podcast, I say um a lot. Uh again, Bailey and Alexa put on a great match as they should. They're veterans, you get what you're gonna get from the veterans. But they can never give Bailey a win at home. No, never. She's even lost a championship in San Jose.

So back to SmackDown. In the back, we see Carmelo Hayes uh and Matt Cardona. He's trying to console Mello. He's like, hey man, we've all been there. We've that WrestleMania moment's been that close and we've just missed it, blah, blah, blah. So he's upset. Uh, Trick Williams comes in. So him and Matt Cardona kind of have a back and forth, and we get a match later on. So we'll see those two in the ring later in the evening. Uh, next up, Drew McIntyre cuts a video promo from a prison about Jacob Fatou. Right. We were sitting there in the crowd, we're like, did it really have to be in a prison? Right. They should have done this face to face. I was like, yeah, they should have.

And then the and then like Fatu also like their shots of him, and I'm just like, What did he fatu agreed to this? What was going on? Right.

It's like shots of him spliced into it. Anyway. So Kathy Kelly's in the back, and Jacob Fatou kind of answers back saying he that he's in the bay, yada mean, gets a crowd pop.

Solo and the MFT walk out. Solo says you're not the only one with family in the crowd because obviously they're from the same family.

Next up, uh, we get a little promo. Uh, Royce Keys is making his long-awaited debut. The last time we saw him was Royal Rumble. Uh, so he is from East Palo Alto, which is about 20 minutes right across the bridge, the San Mateo Bridge, give or take.

Uh, so they kind of have him walking around his hometown, and then so he's gonna make his big debut next up against Los Garza. So Los Garza kind of makes their entrance. They're on a commercial break, they make their entrance, they're hanging out in the ring, and then it comes back, lights up. It's like, oh, they're back from commercial. Royce Keys gets his grand entrance. Uh, pretty cool. His main entrance is cool. It's like harmonica, sounding kind of cool. Uh, and it's a squash match like it should be, basically showing off what Royce Keys can do in the ring.

Someone, someone who did uh take advantage of a home field uh win was Royce Keyes. So shout out Royce Keys. Good win on the first debut. Good job.

Welcome to the main roster, my guy. Next up, Pat McAfee pulls up in another Ram truck, different color this time. Uh, and he wants to confirm that no WWE personnel can put his hands on him. So Nick Aldous says, sure. So he walks in and he runs into quote belly roll, as he calls him. And uh basically Jelly Roll pushes them against the wall, trying to get some answers. Like he's he's kind of roughing them up a bit, and he's like, I'll work here. He's like, You're right.

So on and so forth. Yeah. Uh so he's like, I'll see you later. So Pat McAfee makes his way out to the ring, and his big announcement that apparent apparently he has teamed up with Dodge to get WrestleMania night one tickets, 25% off through Monday night raw.

That was the big reveal, everybody. Yep. That was a big surprise. That was it.

Um he for some reason he's feuding with CM Punk, and I don't understand why. Um, that has nothing for at one point. I was like, is is he is CM Punk involved in this match too? I I was so I was so confused. I don't understand this angle, whatever. Uh Cody Rhodes comes out, and Cody Rhodes actually cuts a great promo on Pat McGaffee and the ring. Uh but being that he can't touch him, Pat starts to run his mouth as Cody goes to leave. Cody takes off the jacket, turns around, and he gets stopped by Randy Orton. Randy Orton is like, hey Cody, look at me, look at your friend, and it's like, oh, jelly rolls lay it out on the ground. Randy Orton knocked out Jelly Roll. So he's like, You should come again. He's like, actually, I'll bring him to you. So he drags Jelly Roll out to the ring. Cody Rhodes goes out there, comes back. Randy Orton hits him from behind. So the two of them start being up on Randy Orton or on Cody Rhodes. Right. And then they end up taking Cody Rhodes' belt.

Correct. Whatever. Cool. Uh next match, we get Jacob Fattu taking on Tama Tonga, who comes out. He comes out with MFT, and then he they leave.

Yeah. So it's it's a great match. Uh Jacob Fatto uh hits the moonsault in the end, picks up the victory. He goes to speak to the hometown crowd, and as he does, Drew McIntyre comes out all taped up, so you know something's about to go down. Right. And he basically beats him down with some not so strong handcuffs, uh, and then continues to beat on him and leave him just in the ring, kind of handcuffed, kind of not. But basically, he just beat the hell out of Jake Fat 2 and left him.

Next, we see truth. He's explaining the ESPN app to one Dan Housen, uh, who isn't Asuka, pointed out by Damian Priest, and as we know from last week, no, he's not Oscar, he's he's Dan Housen. He's like, but you said he was a little girl running around the back. I was like, I never said that. You said that. He's like, what is happening? Uh and then after that, we hear some commotion in the back, camera pans over, and BFAB has been laid out by Rhea Ripley. She goes, one down, one to go.

Next up, uh US champion Sami Zayn comes out uh to curious booze. No one really knows why. Um, even Sammy Zayn is like, I don't know why you boo me, and I'm really like, I don't know why we're booing you either. But here we are.

You're champion they're not booing him. We're not booing you, Sammy. They're booing the situation with Carmeles. It's the weird situation. That's what it is. They're boo they they're booing the situation with Carmelo Hayes. It's like we we were kind of talking about it later. It's like uh Mysterio coming out of the rumble. They're not booing him, they're booing that uh uh was it uh who was it that Brian that uh Dan O'Brien wasn't involved?

Uh just then we get to chant whoop that trick as one of the hottest superstars today, Trick Williams, comes out with his best friend currently, Lil Yachty. Uh wearing a gingerbread man t-shirt, which you pointed out to me, which I was like, that's hilarious.

Uh so he has I I noticed the turntable's like, Gilles, I'm hitting you. I'm like, the turntable's coming out. He's like, Oh yeah. So got to do it. Uh Trick Williams basically like, You're old news, Sammy. I'm what's hot. Gingerbread, ginger snap, ginger man. Uh so let's talk about Trick Willie cuts his little thing on Sammy Zayn. Sammy Zayn takes his seat. Matt Cardona's music hits, and our next match is Trick Williams versus Matt Cardona.

Uh it's a great match. Matt Cardona tries to put up a fight as much as he can with his messed up left wrist from Randy Orton's injury a couple weeks ago. Um in the end, uh Trick Williams picks up the victory, but before that, Sami Zayn gets a little involved. Lil' Yachty gets a little too close and actually takes a Huluva kick outside from Sami Zayn.

Right. Uh we so after that we get a recap of Oba Femi and Brock Lesnar, which is one of the most m looking forward to matches I'm looking forward to. Uh but our next match is between a Kit Wilson. Kit Wilson the debut match of one Dan Housen. So we actually got a pretty good amount of debuts at our Friday night SmackDown. Um Danhausen is fantastic. He is the reason, like he still shows us, he's like, okay, wrestling can still be fun. It's not always serious.

So good. He does move, he flies outside the ring, he puts his arm around the Miz, he thinks it's Kit Wilson, they're cheering together. He's like, oh, and goes back in the ring. Dan Housen curses Kit Wilson at one point on the ring ropes and causes a pyro malfunction, which Kit falls off the ropes. It's pure so good.

Dan Housen gets his first win on SmackDown. Miz tries and sneak up behind him, tries to go slow crushing finale, lights go out, and he slips away. Dan Housen runs down the aisle. Once again, escapes with the victory.

Boom! WWE women's champion Jade Cargill takes on the genius of the sky, EO Sky. EO still a little beat up from the beating on Monday, but these two women put on a hell of a main event. It was it was a fantastic match. I feel like I say fantastic a lot too. But it's a great match. EO tries her hardest, but Jade Cargill is uh that storm, that bitch, and she picks up that victory.

Ooh, so happy to see a live Jade match in the building, especially against EO. That was great.

So Jade proceeds to go, she gets a chair, and she wants to cause more damage to EO. Rhea doesn't have that. Her music instantly hits. She does a crazy jump in the ring, which I was like, if she messed that up at all, she'd be real hurt.

So she flew in that ring flawlessly. Jade was like, all right, cool. Picks up the chair. They'd kind of circle Eo. She gets outside. She sets up the chair outside the ring and then walks away.

Man, Monday Night Raw came to us live from Sacramento, California. For those that don't know where or what Sacramento is, it is the current home of this once fantastic franchise. We're not gonna get to that or I will cry. We had two dark matches. We I'm gonna breeze through these real quick. Uh, the first dark match we had Bravo Americano versus Royce Keys. Royce Keyes showed up. So we're gonna see Royce Keys again, and once again we got to see a Royce Key victory. We didn't get to see El Grande, we just saw the two uh El Mericandos, but that's all right. And then we had uh because it was Sacramento, we had Raquel Rodriguez, which was awesome to see live against Maxine Dupree. Now, uh I the only thing I will say about this, yeah, Maxine lost. That was literally the note. Yeah, Maxine lost. But she was not wearing traditional red, white, and blue like she does represent the Alpha Academy. She was wearing more black, kind of yellow, kind of more vision colors. So I would I would say pay attention to that going forward. That was just a new attire. Again, this was a dark master, it's not on TV, but I did rock, I did see the new rocking of a different kind of look for her.

So still you're it's not good in the ring. Just just you need more, she needs more work. We officially open up with a video package of Roman Reigns, and he spent a little money to put this package together. Got a nice little background going on. Looks like he's in the back of a hooky lounge or something. Uh he's bringing, he's basically bringing receipts to Punk. Punk is like, oh, you you you claim that you're out here by yourself, but you had the shield kind of doing work for you. Uh I don't surround myself with yes men and wise men. Yes, you did, with Paul Heyman, and yes, you did with the Straight Edge Society. Um I'm here to make, I'm not, I'm here to make money, not here to make friends. And then he shows pictures of him hanging out with all sorts of different people, laughing, smiling, this and that. And then he and then he brings up a Mac the McAfee receipt, and it's yeah, so he so McAfee's inserted into this thing. Um so later tonight he's gonna give Phil, not punk, he's gonna give Phil the opportunity to come out here and tell the truth. And then um, he's like, hey, no, no, I like Pat. I like him a lot, but no punter has ever spoken to me like that. So good. Uh then we get a video recap of last week of Brock versus Oba, the contract signing that wasn't, where literal furniture was moving. Uh, that brings us to we get our in-ring promo. It is trips comes out to the ring with Adam Pierce. So they are there. Oba and Brock are gonna sign the contract separately, and Paul Heyman says, Well, yeah, you're gonna you're gonna have him sign it separately because WrestleMania time, no one's getting close to Brock Lesnar, and we get it, we get it live. Here he comes. And man, let me tell you, man, Brock Lesnar's still very much that intimidating dude. He's a he's a big dude. Just how the pyro goes off. It's one of them in the building. Um as they're kind of settling, he signs a contract. As they're kind of settling down, you already hear the oba chants. Paul tries to say something, and Brock goes, Hey! After this weekend, you won't remember his name. Tristan Wall just went, nah. That's why you have Paul speak. That's why Paul talks for me, buddy. Not so much for you, Mike. Uh, and basically says Paul Heyman's going to. I mean Paul Hammond says Brock's gonna win, gonna still be the beast. So then we get to a little video package. We get a we get a recap of uh ISO Speed and the Vision and the Usos and LA Knight, that whole situation from last week. Then we get a video promo where basically uh Theory and Paul are hyping up ISO speed, like oh you you're gonna be and then we get a montage montage montage. Y'all remember way back in the day when we were talking about Maxine and Natty, and they had Maxine do that whole weird montage where it was like black and white, and she was like tapping people out.

Yeah, this was so bad. This it was kind of similar to that. Like he's doing like just fighting with random people, Logan Paul, and them are like, You can do it, tighten up, and you know, wrestling.

So bad. They wasted time on that. Correct. We could have had again. There's so many people who do not have a WrestleMania match, and no offense to the young man, but ISO Speed has a WrestleMania match, and so many people don't so much time. It's a three-hour show. It is brings us to our first official match of the night. It is Charlotte Favre versus Lyle Valkyria. Got to see my first commercial break, it was pretty cool. Just it's like long entrance. Sebastian do an interest. The entrance just keeps going until it's ready to come back on TV, and we'll get to that a little bit later because we had some fun. One of those entrances. I called this the woo versus woo match because you literally have one that woo because she's flair daughter, and then woo, and she prompts people. So it was a lot of woos going on. Uh Bailey looked amazing. Hey, Bailey, the the black with the black girl, you woo. Woo! So good. Uh Lyra, Lyra showed a little attitude. She's uh smushed uh Charlotte in the face a couple times. Uh every time I see Lyra, she's she's growing on me a little more and a little more. I would love to see a newer match with Lyra, this Lyra against EO Sky. I just think that's are you are you wooing yet? Yes. No, I didn't I didn't move that night, no, because I'm not I'm not doing that. Um I I am not doing that, no. I didn't move for I didn't move for I only wooed when the slaps come in. I'm not I'm not we're not especially against Charlotte Flair. I'm I'm not doing that all night. That's the woo is Charlotte's when she's in the ring. Like if it's Lyra by herself against anybody else, you could you can move all day. But that's that's that's Charlotte Flair. That's Flair country. That's the Queen. We're not gonna do that. Uh so uh Charlotte throws Lyra into Bailey. Bailey pulls a little hill move and tripped Charlotte uh as she's going for a pin. Lyra takes advantage of that. So your winner gets a pin over the queen, is Lyra Valkyria. Um Alexa's unhappy about that. The two teams go in, and it's a lot of shoving and pushing. It's a lot of talk going back and forth. Um they're gonna be, it was an okay match, and like I said, Lyra's going on me. Uh so that they were two people in the eight-man tag match, and they're we'll they will see each other again at WrestleMania. We did not get a Bella sighting because I imagine I'll tell you why.

Because they mentioned again that Nikki Bella is nursing an ankle injury, but they'll be good to go for WrestleMania. It's like, of course.

They've come hella high water, they're gonna force Nikki to go out there, and they're going to win because it's a fatal four-way where anything can happen, and that's the only way Naya and Lash are going to lose the belts, especially to the Bellas. Why else did they bring back Bree?

Correct. Correct. Correct. Great. Uh, we got a backstage promo. The Usos and LA Knight are back there. They're approached by Solo and the MFT. Uh solo says, Man, this family's all broken apart. I'm having problems with Fat 2. Tama Tonga isn't here. And then when I do turn on Raw, I got you two. You're always making the family look bad because you're hanging out with your man's over here talking about LA Knight. LA Knight don't like that. I'm gonna go talk to Adam Pierce and get a match going. Yeah. So that's what's going on there. Uh then we get a plug for the Hogan doc on Netflix. I I I was asked recently if I'm gonna watch it. I am going to watch it. Yep. I know they're not gonna cover the shit I want them to cover. Who does, right? And I know he's gonna deflect a lot of shit, and there'll be a lot of excuses, but I am interested to talk to the people that genuinely didn't vibe with him. Like they talked to Bret Hart, so I'm interested to get some of the stories, and it would be good for him to hear to I guess he tells the most of the truth in this one because boy, he's lied a lot and lies on top of lies, and the stories are crazy. So I I will watch it at some point.

And Asuka's like, look, I'm more I'm always gonna be her family, and and Asuka's gonna prove it. Like, she's gonna fight you tonight. So Kyrie, come. Calls her like a dog. It's crazy. Uh, then brings us to a match. It's the Usos and LA Knight versus MFT. They're gonna be taking on JC Mateo, Tongaloa, and Sola Sokoa. We got to see a solo sequa in action. Uh boy, I ain't gonna get too much into it, but man, I'm gonna just say it's hey y'all, it's fun to eat in person. We had our we had ourselves a good time. Uh Usos have new, old, new music, if you if you noticed. It's new, old, new music. Don't let them fool you. Um, Tomatonga shows up. He was he apparently been there, so it was like, What? Where are you been? Wait, Nate, where are you been? It was enough of a distraction for uh LA Knight to take advantage. The winners of that match is LA Knight and the Usos, and there's trouble brew brewing.

When I was champ, you didn't come see me, so now I'm coming to see you. I just think I'm better than you. Yep. Okay.

Uh, because of that, Dom is backstage complaining to Pierce. He has a pretty funny complaint, actually. He's like, the so the contract says, I'm fighting Finn Balor, it doesn't say fight the demon. That's uh that that's that's the demon. I'm not fighting Finn Balor. Cancel the match.

It's EO Sky versus Kyrie Sain. Asuka's in her corner. Kyrie's doing great to bring out that drama. EO is oh so good. Asuka tries to come out. Asuka does some heel tasks, which brings Rhea Ripley out. Rhea tries to get involved. That brings Jade out. Jade attacks Rhea. EO hits Jade. Eo's yelling at Asuka on the side. Kyrie tries to take advantage, but it doesn't work. But Asuka's there to help her out. And the winner, Kyrie Sane, gets a win over EO Sky. And Asuka is oh so pleased. She might not make her walk home now. That's so cool. Great. And then, in probably what was probably the biggest disappointment of the night, we did not get a chance to see Becky Lynch or AJ Lee live. Their last build-up at the go home show was a video packers just reminding you they're gonna find a WrestleMania. Yeah, that was disappointing. Uh really wanted to see, really was hoping to see AJ Lee in in person. That would have been great. But that's all right. Then we get the what I like to call the well, I think it's the co-main event of the night, because this is when the people got uh oh so great. We did get a it was funny, we got a tri I put triple H entrance kinda because the music came out, but he's he's old, he's not him, him so he walks out to that. So we got to sing the song. We all rejoiced, it was pretty good. But hey, uh, since we're up against it, I'm gonna just let y'all know this. They let Oba Femi get on the mic. Oba Femi comes out. If it's the loudest, listen, hey, listen. From someone who was in the building when Oba Femi is in the building, the hype is real. Everybody in that place came to see the ruler, and it it shook the foundation when he came out. During Paul, Paul Heyman couldn't talk, he couldn't talk. The Oba chance. It was real. He's basically telling them uh uh Paul's trying to come out there and say this and that. I'll just write down this part because I loved it. He was just like, yo, uh you have 25 years of an ex of examples to see why Brock Lesnar was that dude. I've got four weeks of history to say why I think I can beat that dude. He's the ruler, he's the destroyer, he's the bringer of war, he's the mountain you can't climb, he's the mountain you can't conquer, he's gonna slay the beast because he's the one, he's always been the one. And come, WrestleMania, all it's gonna be crazy. He better win. He hey, he better win.

It was, we got a nice little tag team match. It was Javon Evans and Dragon Lee in one corner versus Rusev and JD McDonough in the other corner for the six-man in the ladder match. All I can really say is, because we're against it, all I can really say is this match is one of the reasons why they need to bring back the Cruiserweight title or just recognize these high flyers and these dudes because even JD McDonough is great, Javon is great, Dragon is great. Uh, the winners of the match were Dragon Lee and Javon Evans. Rusev starts to beat people up, Rey Mysterio comes out, Rusev beats him up, Penta comes out, and Rusev beats him up. Rusev stands tall over everybody. Yeah. Given it being that dude for heading into uh the ladder match, which I did not expect. So pretty good on them to having uh uh Rusev show out. Uh, real quick, my hot take for Mania. Uh Danhausen's talking to Adam Pierce. Adam Pierce is talking to somebody on the phone. He's talking about John Cena hosting WrestleMania. And Dan Housen's like, I want to talk to John Cena. And Adam Pierce is like, you'll get plenty of time to talk to John Cena at WrestleMania. In fact, I I think he would love to talk to you. I think John Cena is gonna let Danhausen co-host WrestleMania.

I hate you too because I hate that you have this connection with these people that I don't seem to have. I had to work hard because these people didn't like me.
