Hey, and today, tonight, whatever it is, you are joining our wonderful little corner of the internet. We're going to do kind of what we always do. We're going to do what we've kind of been doing if you understood our part one. This is part two. We went to a little thing called two of us went to a little thing called A.E.W. Forbidden Door. Uh, but we're all going to sit here and talk about it. Uh, if you're kind of sitting down, you're going, part one, go ahead. I'm sure my guy will put a little bit below. Go ahead and watch part one. Go ahead and watch that, and then you can come on back. Hey, did you watch part one? Welcome back. Let's go ahead and dive into part two here. Uh we're gonna go on ahead and we are gonna have a tag team match for the AEW tag team championship. It's the dogs. Verse Cage and Cope. For those that do not know who the dogs are, the dogs are Clark Connors, David Finley, and Cage and Cope are Adam Copeland, Christian Cage, or Edge and Christian in another life. That is who they were.

Singing Edge's song in a live crowd when it's just the crowd and nothing else is one of the most phenomenal things that you can do in a wrestling arena to fill using fans.

Now, uh I mean you Chava probably tell it, but he had a mu he had a much better video, and then something went wrong. That's what prompted That's what prompted the video you saw, because I was like, oh snap, well, somebody's gotta get something for billions. Oh my god.

It was perfect. I was recording, uh, but my fat thumbs, like I was trying to do like the zoom in and zoom out, and I accidentally switched from like video to uh to photo, and it didn't just cut off and save, it just boop, gone. It was perfect. I was like I was so ready to like text it to you, be like, I know Edge is your Cope is your guy. Yep. Um so yeah, my bad.

Yep. All good. This is my first time. I've seen Christian Cage, he's been going by Christian Cage for almost two years at this point. Uh but this is my first time seeing Adam Copeland. I have only seen Edge. Edge retired, he was gone for a while, and then just like Daniel Bryan, sorry, Brian Danielson and Paige, uh, they found some great doctors, they're able to heal up their neck issues and get back into the ring, which is a phenomenal thing to see. So I am very excited. I was very excited for this match. Because it's Edge and Christian, they're the tag team champs like they were 25 years ago, and it took me right back to the year 2000. So please, let's talk about this match. It was exciting.

No, this was your first time watching uh Edges as uh as Adam. Not even like not watching matches or anything in YouTube or no?

Oh wow, I mean I've seen little things here and there, but like I I I hadn't seen his entrance. I knew he's still not to Altar Bridge. I I just I haven't seen him. Yeah. So it was it was great. Man, that's your guy. Okay, cool. This is cool, exciting.

Yeah, man. Uh the dogs had a nice little thing where they they came out and they had like some some some cats trying to like be a little photographers and they ended up like punching them out.

Yeah, and he like dragged them down, halfway ranch.

That was that was that was pretty good. Like I I I'm not a big fan of the dogs, honestly. Um, but that's that's that's that's just because their whole thing I don't vibe with, their characters are starting to grow on me as far as like I I get their whole thing. Like I get it, bro. Um Cage slammed. There's a point where Christian uh has Clark Connors, and he just slams his head into Finley's groin while he's lying on the ground. That's that's that's that's great. Um Clark Connors lights a match on Christian Cage's head at one point. Um Adam Cloplin reverses a suplex to Kick Connors on the top rope. Like it's okay, so it's it's yeah. So Clark Connors is sitting up on the top rope. Um Cope has Cope has Finley in a way where he does a suplex and then Finley's feet kick Connors on the top. Oh, that's great, yeah. That was good. That was really well done. Um Cope and Connors do a dual do a do a spear, do a dual spear. That was freaking awesome, yeah. They just run into each other. Like full force, dude.

They hit hard. I was like, man. That was so good. I had never seen two spears go at the same place.

I had never seen that either. I I remember sitting there going, I remember go out loud just going like they're not about to spear each other, are they? Like, how do they do that? Oh yeah, they did. Oh yeah, they do see how that works. It was fantastic. Very well done. Uh did that so at a certain point the ref does go out, so Finley hits Cope with the Shilleley. Shall I uh Finley hits Cope with the Shilleley, hits Cage with the Shilleli, and it looks like he's about to wail on Cope as he's on the ground. Lights go out in the arena. Full dark. Now, this didn't mean anything to me at the time. Doing research, now I understand why it's important. Um lights come on in the entranceway, and it is I wrote their names down. Yes, it is Colt and Austin Gunn, Juice Robinson and Ace Austin. It is the bang, bang, bang gang, as they are called. So they're sitting there in the entrance, they do their whole thing. Uh I was I was looking forward to the rewatch because as we were watching, I saw the cameraman kind of go around them, and I was like, ooh, that's gonna look great. It did in the shot. It looks really cool. It looks really cool. Uh they pan back, lights come on in the ring, pointing the old guns at David Finley, is one switchblade Jay White. I did not know who he was then, I know who he who he is now, and I understand why the pop was so big in the arena.

Um leader gone for what, a year? Over a year?

For 400 some odd days. Yeah he he had been gone. The leader of the Bang Bang Gang. And so they have been with been without their guy, comes back, uh, does I don't know what he calls it, but it's basically the sister Abigail. Hits the sister Abigail on David Finley, uh, kind of goes to Cope and goes, Yeah, here you go. Here's uh here's the present. Um take advantage, Cope hits him with the spear, get the one, two, three, hashtag and still your AW tag team champions. Cage and Cope. Cage and Jay White. Uh there's a point when when uh Switchblade Jay goes to hand them their their championships, he hands it to Cope, he hands it to Cage, Cage just grabs it, stares them down. Apparently there's a little bit of history between Christian Cage and uh Switchblade Jay White to the point where fast forward to uh uh Dynamite, the first kind of interview they have afterward, uh they're talking to Cage and Cope, and Cage is just like he goes, he's like, Can I ask a question? Why the hell was Switchblade Jay White? Why did he get involved? And Cope's like, well he owed me a favor. So I you know, I called him like I still have a problem with that dude, so whatever. So it's so it's so it's a thing. So I think that's gonna that's gonna play out. That's gonna play out. But the bang bang gang celebrates, they got their leader back, they were they were hype as they walked out. Cage and cope are your tag team champions. As far as we know, all is right in the world. That brings us to what they called one of three main events, which is cute for AEW. But that brings us to our first main event match. It is for the Owen Hart Cup women's final match. It is.

Real quick, real quick, uh, just because they are billed as three main events, should I do a main event of the evening for each match? Let's do it!

This is the first main event.

It is my world versus Mercedes Monet. Oh my C E O uh C E O. It was so exciting to see one Mercedes Monet in person who I fell in love with her as Sasha Banks, as I'm sure a lot of people probably did. It was just fantastic to see her, and it was great to see Maya World. She is really good coming off of uh she just had a recent real life tragedy, she lost her younger brother like two weeks before, uh wrestled through all that, and um yeah, just just just showed up, persevered through it, because uh brother was an inspiration for her, and so she wanted to go out there and uh wrestle. And we have in the storyline where you know Maya World looked up to Mercedes Monet. They have the pictures of like, oh, you know, you you looked up to me, and so now you have to face your idol, and and so it's a good good storyline coming in. Um Maya World has a really great bar coming in this match. She's like, you know, blah blah blah, and have all this, but like everybody puts all this on me, and I have all these big expectations, but expectations don't win matches. I do.

That was good.

Mm-hmm. Mm-hmm. Mm-hmm. Uh so uh Monet gets the crowd. Uh Mercedes Monet has this really great moment where the ref is going out to check on Maya World after a move, and there's no count out. So Mercedes is just like, one! Two crowd going, she gets to the she gets the whole ground to nine and then gets back to the other ring.

And she gets out of the ring to get uh Maya throw her back in. I was like, that's good. That was great.

That match is super fresh in my head. I just just watched it a couple hours ago, and I uh I think the reason she rolled out um is she almost had a uh a jade moment.

She was fixing her wig. I noticed that.

Yeah, yeah, yeah. So I think she rolled out uh because she was uh the wardrobe malfunction. So um it was her hair and adjusting.

And she had a she had a bit on her, so she when she first came out, she was rocking like a kind of like a part that came from her neck kind of up front here, and at some point that whole thing just went away. So she was kind of struggling with the with the with the girls as well. But she, you know, she she was overcoming it. And yeah, I put here, uh Maya World has talent. She really worked out. Um she had a moment where she tossed it almost did like a Samoan, like a Samoan almost tossed, tossed Mercedes through the ropes, yeah. Out to the ring.

Mercedes was a third is a gamer. She did it though. Yeah.

She did it once, twice, and then the third one is when she got closer to the ropes and then threw her through the rope. She was it was so awesome. My world was fantastic.

Super great. Um there's another one where she does a sunset flip onto the floor, and my world just looked awesome. Coming into it, I was really rooting for my world because not knowing about the Owen, like I I did my want and my will. My want was Mercedes Monet, because I want Mercedes Monet to win everything. But my will was I would will I think my world was gonna win because Owen Hart tournament felt like one of those things, kind of like a King of the Ring, where if you have kind of a newer up and coming, this is something they win, so you can kind of start to propel their uh journey. But sometimes, and billion, we all know this being A's fans. Sometimes being Oakland A's fans, let me be that very specific. Right. Sometimes you're just you're a character in somebody else's story. And for Maya World, unfortunately, she had to fall to the now two-time back to back to back Owen Hart Foundation Cup final winner, C E O Miss Mercedes Monet. Put some respect on her name, y'all. She's back.

So now she gets a title shot at All Inn, correct, in London as well? Yes. As the men's winner. Yes. So good for her. Maybe she'll get another strap on that shoulder of hers. But yeah, Mercedes Monet, I mean they both they both shelled out. It was great to see Mercedes again. Um the whole thing. I I love that she went from the boss of the CEO.

I love that Maya World hit her with her own move at one point. Yeah, that was that was yeah, yeah. That was that was super cool. Um fantastic match. One thing we did not see in the building, but we got to see on the rewatch was after that match, Renee interviews Athena. Um, they didn't show that while you guys didn't know.

No, I was going to I was going to ask you. I was like, I don't remember seeing that. And then yeah. Was not the building.

Uh showed up on the pay-per-view. Uh for those that do not know, Athena. Uh it was Athena and Meyer World in an in the earlier rounds, and Meyer World beat Athena. Now, if if Mercedes Monet was an idol to Meyer World, Athena was a mentor to Meyer World. Um, you know, helped her wrestle and kind of looked after she was coming up, this, that, and the third. So Athena um threw a little bit of shade at Maya, basically, kind of on some like natty maxine deprexe where it's like, oh, I trained you, but it seems like everybody I train can't seem to get the job done. And that's no fault of mine. It's not my fault once I release them out into the world, they can't get the job done. So, whatever, haha. So Athena talking a little bit of her shit. So all good.

Which brings us to our second HEMA event.

Man. Let me let me let me ask you first before we get into anything else. Has anybody ever, ever, ever seen a circular steel cage before? I have not. I have not. Never. We walk we walk into the building, everybody, and first thing you notice it's over the ring. You see a circular steel cage. And I at first I my very first thought was, so that's how you get 12 men in a steel cage match. Because I was sitting envisioning how are how is this going to work realistically within a traditional steel cage. So that is how you make it work. So that's right, everybody. It is a you heard that right. It is a 12-man steel cage match. It is six on six. Two teams. We have team MJF versus team Briscoe. Now, who are on these teams? Let's start with the heel team. Let's start with Team MJF. It is Andrade Iladoho, Kyle Fletcher, Jake Doyle, Kevin Knight, Casucata, and of course, Maxwell Jacob Friedman. MJF. Most of these people were most of these people belong in the Don Callis family. In fact, all of them are in the Don Call of the Everybody's Don Callis family. Yeah, everybody's in the Don Callis family. MJF hired them, so the joke is MJF had these shirts made that basically say DC MJF, and it's just him and Don Callis in like just basically like Speedos and doing like the Predator Arnold Schwarzenegger fucking weather's bro shake on the shirt, and MJF made the whole team wear these shirts.

Don was trying to rip his and he couldn't finish the job, so he just going back around. He's like close enough. And then he was on commentary, so it was cool to have Don Callis on commentary too.

Chava, just like with you with Edge, I also had a moment where I thought I got a good portion of MJF's entrance. Turns out I did not. Because boy, I was looking back for later and I was like, oh, oh, but hey, I got to see, I got to see the owner of the Triple B live. Probably the I I'll just keep it 100, bruh. He is, he's like, between all promotions, he's got to be in the top five best wrestler right now. Like it's it's it for somebody who's being asked to be the face of a company and doing it well and has been doing it for a while. Um at a young level. With and without the best just turned 30, like, and is already a three-time chap. Uh Maxwell Jacob Freeman, it was awesome to to see him in the building. It was awesome to see that entrance. It was awesome to see the banner drop. The banner is all as good as advertised. It's that good. That is team NJF. Let's talk about the faces. It is Team Briscoe. Now, most of these people are in the conglomeration, uh, but they consist of Kyle O'Reilly, Orange Cassidy, Roderick Strong, Darby Allen, uh, Takeshta, uh not Takeshta. Takashida. Nope, Takesh. I had it right the first time. I had it right the first time. Ha! And then, of course, Team Briscoe being Mark Briscoe. Now, if Team Briscoe won, Mark Briscoe got a title shot against MJF at a at a time that Mark Briscoe can choose. Man, this match was crazy. Um that's an understatement. Let's just, I'm gonna just I'm gonna just run down my notes. Just run down my notes like I always do. Uh there, first of all, Round Steel Cage. We talked about that. There was a there was one table that was specifically gold underneath. It was a DC MJM table. Yes. There was a couple, I think there was two of them. I think they set up two of them that had those tables with gold underneath. It was crazy. Now, the conglomeration, for those that don't know, they have this whole thing where they like to carry backpacks around with them. So every member of Team Briscoe had their own backpack.

What's in the backpacks?

Let's run through who was in everything, it who was in each backpack. Uh in Kyle O'Reilly's backpack, he had an he had an original NES system full with a con full of two controllers and a game that he blew on the cartridge, put in the system before doing something.

They're whipping dudes within the tourists like that hurts, man. Yeah, that looks yeah, yeah.

Those uh those those reactions, those cells were that that was real. Come on, that's gotta hurt.

And people were just so juiced to see a Nintendo. Like people so crazy.

They did so much with it. They whipped people, they used it as a clothesline, they choked out Kyle Fletcher, like they got the life out of that NES, bro. Yes, they did.

Yeah. Brings us to the next backpack, was Mark Briscoe's backpack. And well, he's a little more of the the crazier of the bunch. So his backpack was full of tacks. Just thumbtacks. Yeah. Yeah. All over the ring, which means we have some thumbtack work. Um Mark Briscoe takes Mark Briscoe, gets hit. Uh he gets the thumbtacks in the back, but always now to be outdone. Listen, Darby Allen. If you're if you are in a if you if you are if there was such a thing as a holy shit belt, like a real holy shit belt, Darby Allen Darby Allen. Would would would just you you might as well just give it to him like they they gave it the ring finally, like just staple it around his waist because what Dar what Darby Allen likes to do staple it, exactly. Not only did he get married two days before and have his mom slam him on Thun Tax at his wedding, he calls him so he calls himself getting flipped over and taken the tax boom face first. That's what Darby Allen does, everybody.

There was that. There was that. MJF at one point gets a broom and just sweeps the thumbtacks out of the ring. It's really cool. He sweeps all the thumbtacks out of the ring, stands in the ring, is just like. And here comes Orange Cassidy and here comes Orange Cassidy. And of course, gifted by one Willow. What's a bucky unit? Willow Nightingale. Almost said nightshade. But that's one of my characters. I was like, wait, that's not it. It can't be that. Yeah. Basically says, good luck, hold back, whole bag full of orange slices for Orange Cassidy. Then we have a nice little face-off between Okada and Takeshta. And inside of Takeshta's bag was one of these.

Yeah. The Alpha, who is Takeshta, has a really great thing where he he's grabbing onto Kyle. Kyle grabs onto Okada and he suplexed both of them. Basically he suplexed Kyle. Kyle suplexes Okada, and it's a whole thing. It's a really great move. Kevin Knight does a coast to coast to Darby Allen with a chair against Darby Allen's face. That was really dope. Roderick Strong brought out a big bag. At one point was whipping it around to people, and then it kind of got slid under the ring. At a certain point, it gets slid back out of the ring. MJF notices this and he's like, hey, open up the bag. There's probably something dope in there that we can use. There was. Leo rushes in that bag, everybody. Leo freaking rush.

So the back and forth between Andrade and Leo was Andrade was going, it's fine!

Gets into the ring, bringing out the ring, and it's a total precious moment. At a certain point, Leo Rush is just eyeing that thing. Uh Chava, man, you had it right. He should absolutely go after his precious. He should take that ring from him.

I think so. Come on, like he's got that vibe, right? That kind of golem vibe. He got distracted by the by the ring. I think he needs to go after that ring.

I think so. Um Strong puts him oh, Strong puts him and Strong gets uh they end they end up stuffing Leo Rush back inside the bag. And then they chain it closed. Chain it closed inside under the ring. Uh Strong puts Doyle and himself through a table on the outside. The Alpha puts Kyle through a table with a blue thunder bomb, which is dope. Which brings us to the last backpack. Good old Darby Allen's backpack. Now, at the beginning of the match, he climbs the cage and sets his backpack up near the top. Kevin Knight at one point climbs up to the cage. He's like, oh snap, there's one more backpack. And in a very eerie, like you are cursed kind of situation, Kevin Knight goes and opened a backpack and it's boop, pyrotechnic in his face. Just it just explodes. So like Darby Allen brought a flashbang grenade or a bomb to the thing. Kevin Knight falls through the table as we called before. I think when when both Chob and I walked into the place, looked up to the cage, and we were just like, Darby Allen's gonna jump off that thing. Darby Allen does a coffin drop off the cage. Yes, he does. It's scary off the top for me, but off the top of the cage, jump blindly jumping backwards.

Then the big moment of the night, MJF is trying to get Andrade to do something for him. Andrade's like, no, we're not doing this. Straight up attacks MJF, rips off his shirt, and on the shirt it says, F Don Calla, F Don, FMJF. Andrade's out the fam. He's done with it. He gives a low blow to Doyle. Briscoe takes advantage. The three count. Your winner. Team Briscoe. They get oh team uh Team Briscoe. So Mark Briscoe gets to challenge MJF. Now, this was also another great time to watch the rewat to do the rewatch because since it was in studio, since the camera was in Mark Briscoe's face, when the mic comes out, you can still hear what he's saying.

A little bit in the arena, no, it cut out way worse.

Basically, he's saying he wants to cash it in that next week on Dynamite.

He cashed it in that next week on Dynamite. It was that fast. Yes, he did, but we ain't talking about that. We maybe talk about another thing, but we have to get to our man of May. We are a little bit up against it, and that's okay because the notes that the notes for this are a lot shorter. Uh this is the Owen Hart Foundation Cup men's final. It is. Swerve. Swerve.

Who's house it? Who's house it? Who's asking?

He's in heel mode, though. No dancing. Swerve Strickland. No. In fact, being in hill mode, both of these men felt like they were in hill mode because Will Ospreay comes out. Usually he's in a Assassin's Creed type-esque fitter. This time he tapped into a little bit of bane, and he's coming out. Oh, you looked like you were born in the doctor. Stand on ceremony, Mr. Wayne. Um and then Strve Strickland comes out in some Lobo. Didn't see him coming out on the motorcycle. On the hog. Like I thought I might have heard it, but I was unsure. Uh, but he does come out. Um, Prince Prince uh Nene comes out with Swerve. He's in his sparkly coat and his sparkly crown. Uh it's basically Bain versus Lobo. Look, y'all, at the end of the day, this got a 5.5 star rating. This match is as good, is as advertised, is as good as advertised. There are certain times you just hear certain names on a card. You hear Swerve Strickland versus Will Ospreay, you're in for some great stuff. Swerve takes the hidden blade and delivers a hard clothesline. First time Will just hits him with it. Swerve just takes it and just turns and bow, delivers a hard clothesline. Both of these gentlemen donned the crimson mask. A lot of bloods. It was a lot better on the rewatch because about 70% of the good stuff happened on the other side of the other side, yeah.

Especially that kick where he jumped off the top of the stairs and kicked Osprey just right to the face. Oh, yeah, yeah, yeah. Yeah.

Hey, hey, I'll uh I you know, watch the whole card, but if you want to see what some five-star wrestling looks like, especially with the story coming in where I believe it was Swerve had Osprey's number pretty much most of the time that they fought. Um they were partners about two years ago in Big All In, and so there's a big history between Swerve and Will. One of them had to fall. Heading to Wembley at all in to be in front of his countrymen, the winner of the Owen Hart Foundation men's final is the Ariel Assassin himself, Will Osprey. The Death Riders come out, they celebrate with Will, they lift him up, uh Alex Windsor, his wife from the Brawling Birds, comes out, they celebrate, and all of San Jose celebrates with the Ariel Assassin.
