Leave a Note, Light a Day
Welcome back to the Do Better podcast. Yesterday’s card was “Compliment Someone,” and I did—by bringing coffee to the nurses at my wife’s hospital. They surprised me with a plaque: “Four North’s Best Husband.” That little compliment made my whole day.
Today’s card? Write a Kind Note. Whether it’s a post-it left on a mirror or a message tucked in someone’s bag, small notes can carry big weight. I’ve done this before—left a trail of words behind me—and it’s one of my favorite things. Kindness can echo farther than we ever see.
Are you doing these cards with me? Let me know. And if you need a note today: You matter. Keep going.

Welcome back to the Do Better podcast. This is Anthony, and every day I draw a card from my deck of Do better, and I do what it says. I'm just trying to make the world a little bit better of a place. Yesterday's card was, give someone a compliment and it went wonderful. I, uh, I took some coffee up to the nurses at my wife's hospital and a couple extra people ordered that they didn't tell me about, so I drove back to Starbucks and I got that.
And I came back and I got to the hospital. And when I went in and brought the coffees in, they had made me a little plaque. Uh, saying I was the four North best husband, so that they paid me a compliment and it really, it felt great. Like, I know it's a silly thing they were just doing it 'cause of whatever, but it felt really good to me and it brightened my day.
So thank you. Nurses of four North. Um, today's card, I've got it right here. We're gonna draw it out. See what it is. It is. Write a kind note. Leave a note. This is one of my favorites. This is a card that can start a ripple effect that you don't even understand how far that can go. Leaving a kind note for someone.
It's my way of just leaving something out there in the world to try to make something good happen. Have you ever been having a pretty shitty day and just. Found a note from someone that you'd had, maybe you had it sitting in your drawer and you were cleaning in a pissy mood, and you read that and it just lights your day up.
It just makes everything a little bit lighter and makes it easier to carry on. So that's my intention for the day, is to make people's day a little lighter and put out some notes that maybe people find that need 'em in that moment. I've had a lot of fun in the past with the Leave a Note card. Um, I get, I just got like a stack of post-its and I just started writing these little kind words on 'em and just sticking 'em everywhere I could.
It wasn't gonna be litter and trash, obviously, somewhere somebody's gonna find it and it's, it just felt really good to leave those little trail of happiness behind me for other people to find. So today that's the intention. Uh, how are you gonna do this? Is anybody following along with me doing these actions?
I'm curious to hear, leave a comment and let me know. Uh, you can find me on all the socials, all the podcast platforms. Feel free to shoot me a message if you have any questions or if you want to hear anything specific on the show. So once again, thank you everybody for listening and have a great day and as always do better.
I love you.
