Liz Evans

Liz Evans is the Program Director for Civic Education and Outreach at Arizona State University’s Center for American Civics, where she leads statewide and national initiatives to strengthen civic learning. She brings more than 2 decades of experience in civic education as a former public school educator and current leader in the field.


Liz serves in national leadership for Educating for American Democracy, helping guide strategy, partnerships, and implementation to advance excellence in history and civics education. She is also the host of the Civics in a Year podcast, which supports educators in deepening their content knowledge and instructional practice.


She is a National Board Certified Teacher and a Project Management Professional, with advanced degrees in education from Northern Arizona University, including a doctorate in educational leadership
