Good morning.
Two Tioga County motorcyclists remain in critical condition at Robert Packer Hospital following a violent highway collision. State police report thirty-seven-year-old James Luce and forty-six-year-old Jason Wyble were traveling north on Elkhorn Road when Luce's motorcycle entered the oncoming lane and slammed into a southbound S-U-V, which then careened into Wyble's bike. Both riders were airlifted from the scene with severe injuries.
Meanwhile, a Hornell man faces multiple felonies after allegedly setting his own car on fire and threatening the responding fire chief with a knife. Police say twenty-five-year-old John Holiday pulled a blade on Fire Chief Frank Brzozowski, warning he would kill him if he put out the flames. Officers arrived quickly to disarm Holiday, who is now being held on arson and reckless endangerment charges.
And motorists in East Corning are being warned of widespread traffic disruptions starting tomorrow morning. State transportation crews are reducing a busy stretch of Route Three-Fifty-Two to a single lane daily between the Gibson Bridge and Guthrie Corning Hospital to carry out an extensive pavement project.
