How follow-up questions make AI more useful

Most of us have been trained to use the internet with short searches: “best restaurant near me,” “printer not working,” or “vacation ideas Arkansas.”

AI assistants work differently.

In this episode, Mac explains how ChatGPT, Gemini, Claude, Copilot, and similar tools become more useful when you treat the first question as the beginning of a conversation—not the final attempt.

You’ll hear practical examples involving travel planning, printer troubleshooting, and writing a friendly but firm note to a neighbor. You’ll also learn why you do not need an elaborate or “perfect” prompt to get useful help.

Try This Today

Choose one thing you would normally search for online. Explain the full situation to an AI assistant in a few sentences, then ask at least two follow-up questions.
